I gave this a 5 star review months ago. Now im giving it a 1 star review because people are slamming the equipment and the staff are not doing anything about it. Im concerned about equipments being broken. I came in and there were 3 female staff in the front desk and not one greeted me or acknowledge me. I could have just walked straight in without scanning my QR code smh. One of them i believe is the manager. Says alot about the work environment here.

A little disappointed with the staff's behavior at the end of the working day on Friday 10/17. There were a lot of people. Some customers don't know that the gym closes at 9:00 PM. Instead of warning people in advance, the staff started shouting "we are closed, everyone go home" at exactly 9:00 PM. I barely managed to change. Amir didn't let me use the bathroom even for a few seconds.

Overall a good place. Always clean and nice

I really liked this gym when it was at 9950 Roosevelt Boulevard — it had more space and felt easier to move through a workout. Since relocating to a smaller retail area, it’s become much more crowded, which makes it tough to stick to a routine.

The staff here is great — they’re friendly, helpful, and professional. The equipment is high-quality and well-maintained, which I appreciate.

However, space is definitely limited, and some gym-goers tend to use machines for long periods, leave their belongings to "hold" equipment, and don’t always wipe things down after use. That kind of gym etiquette (or lack of it) makes a difference, especially in a smaller space.

Overall, it’s a solid gym with great staff and equipment, but the layout and crowding make it harder to get a full workout in during busy times.

Gym is very nice. Equipment is new. Only reason why I took one star off is because I'm a truck driver and try to find a location at the end of my shift to get out of the truck to work out and shower. Employees said I would be fine to park out front. Security knocked on my door and stated the police would be called and their is no overnight parking even though I explained I was a customer of the gym and had to leave. I get they don't want a million trucks in the parking lot but I've been a black card member for some time and the main reason is because I can go to any gym which in my world is huge. 90 percent of the parking lot was empty and the last thing any truck driver needs is someone pounding on their door after a 14+ hour day...

lots of rude men at this gym. i can’t go back to this location and struggle to go to any gym because 3 times I have been approached unwanted. I have met another woman with the same experience. all I wanted was to do my thing and be left alone, but have had men take advantage of the fact I am non confrontational and change or “correct” my workout. the facilities are nice, but this location completely ruined my fitness journey and for 2 months I have been unable to return out of fear of being approached by strangers.

I sometimes go to this location because its near the grocery store that I go to the staff is rude specially . I wanted to get massage chair while it was still 15 minutes. Complaint about staff behavior at Planet Fitness – July 12, 2025

Today my teenage son came to your gym with his trainer for a regular workout session. As part of their training, they were doing shadowboxing — no gloves, no bags, no sparring, just simple cardio movement. They weren’t loud, they weren’t bothering anyone, and the gym was almost empty.

Out of nowhere, a staff member came over and rudely told them to stop, saying “you’re not allowed to box here,” and then basically kicked them out. There was no explanation, no professionalism, and absolutely no respect. My son’s membership is fully paid, he was under the supervision of a professional trainer, and he was doing nothing wrong.

This kind of treatment is completely unacceptable.
If boxing or certain exercises aren’t allowed, where are the signs? Where in the rules does it say this? Why humiliate paying customers instead of having a respectful conversation?

Your gym calls itself a “judgement-free zone,” but what happened today was the complete opposite — disrespect, aggression, and zero communication.

I’m demanding a proper explanation and action taken toward the staff involved. If we don’t hear back, we will file a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau and share this experience publicly on social media and review sites.

I come into Planet fitness everyday and he greets me and makes me feel welcome!!! To start the gym is very clean, I see him cleaning all the time instead of being lazy, the bathroom, gym equipment, floor all very clean so 10/10. I’ve been coming here for about a month and Kenneth has answered all my questions in full detail, going out of his way to make sure I understand.
Theres a lot of times i’ve asked him for advice for different workouts and he went out his way to show me proper form and to explain in detail what the work out does to each component of the body part. He always interacts with me and other members, making sure myself and other people have a good experience at Planet Fitness I feel safe and comfortable while working out. Excellent staff members at this location! They keep the facility clean and greet everyone. There's tons of up-to-date equipment. Individual shower rooms/rest rooms, which helps eliminate peeping toms and photo taking weirdos. I visit a lot of Planet Fitnesses in Philadelphia and surrounding counties. The worst, most obnoxious, horribly designed, inefficient locker "room" bathroom concept I've ever seen at any gym in my life. Lockers are in thr gym, only 2 small benches, then a few separate individual "rooms" 2 of which are changing only and 2 or 3 are bathroom sink AND showers, one at a time use! Absolutely stupid. Always a wait, can't just go wash your hands without occupying an entire bathroom, instead of 8, 9 or 10 being able to use a restroom at once, you've got 3 or 4 maybe MAX. Showers make the restroom rooms hot and humid. Nowhere to just sit your stuff, unless it's a changing room. On and on. I will never go back to this gym and if it's a new concept at all of pf locations, I'll change gyms. Whatever PhD MBA focus group consultant came up with this proves that ultra educated book smart people make terrible practical decisions.

Do not like the open space for bathrooms / showers / dressing rooms. Lack of privacy between genders, while before there were separate locker rooms. Also there is not enough seating area to get ready in the open space

Machines are stacked on one another & during peak times, they are all occupied. I never had an issue getting on a treadmill before, now people are waiting in line to get on a treadmill

Good selection of machines, moderate free weights. Several Smith machines. Several rowers. Lots of treadmills, cycling, etc. Clean and bright. A few vending machines. Oddly, the lockers are mostly in the main workout room and along open hallways (better for security?) The showers, are in private rooms. Nice for privacy but logistically a bit tedious waiting for one to be available at peak visit periods. Black Card membership upgrade allows access to massage chairs, tanning, and a guest can accompany you. The guest needs to log in on the PF app. Black Card members also can use any PF.

Anyway I love the new location. I like that's its smaller bc we don't have those big fans lowering my core temperature. And it's never that busy that you can't find a machine. There's plenty if you know how to workout.

The ONLY complaint or suggestion I should say. Is move the chest fly machine. Whose idea was that to have them facing one another? No one wants to stare at someone in such a close proximity while both doing that same machine exhaling into one another's face. Just swap one with one next to it. Problem solved.

The location at 9950 Roosevelt was the best ever. I loved it and it was spacious, the 360 room was segregated as was the leg machine and yoga area; unlike most Planet Fitness locations where u can easily bump another machine because they are hard pressed for space 9950 was perfect. Moving recently to 11000 Roosevelt was the worst decision ever. It’s a ton of machines in a small space, now they are just like all the other locations. It’s just one big room. I WONT RECOMMEND THIS GYM TO ANYONE I HAD A VERY TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE. Last week someone stole my gym bag from the gym locker got my car keys got into my car and took my work bag and stuff from inside my car. When I asked for a manager at that time there was no manager and she refused to come to the gym even though the cops was there. She told me to come the next day. Next day after my work when I called her she told me she gotta leave at 5pm and told me to come before that. She was arguing with me stating that she cannot wait for me. Then after the argument she told me she can give me 30 mins to check the cctv footage and cops have to be there. The staff is not cooperative and you literally wont get any help and NO SECURITY in this gym. SO YOU PUT YOUR LIFE IN RISK WHEN YOU GO TO PLANET FITNESS. And most of the time the paper towels are not stocked up and most of them are empty so hygiene is also a question. VERY BAD!!!
Giving the response that you are not responsible for the locker room and the car parking questions about the SAFETY IN PLANET FITNESS. You gave CCTV cameras in the gym still when an incident happens you are not willing to provide access and drop in upon the police when this happened in your premises. What if someone is shot inside the gym. Still you guys wash your hands and say the simple quotes to CALL THE POLICE. Overall PLANET FITNESS IS BAD and not at all a secure place to go. I believe the manager at that time who is not there now she is the one who took my stuff that's why she refused to come to the gym when the incident happened and I. Cctv footage I saw her carrying a large tray bag. So beware of the staff in this gym.

I wish I could give this location a high star rating, but I can't. WHY? the marketing/commercials don't match any of the PLANET FITNESSES. case in point: on all the commercials, the people @ the desk are WELCOMING and seem NICE. @ this particular location it's a C minus at best for how they WELCOME me in. I can't speak to everyone else's experiences; I just know how mine are.
On 10/23/24 the lady with BLACK SHIRT, who's probably the 1 in charge acted as if saying HELLO is a crime, as I noticed she is instructing the new hire and she barely said HELLO either. Compared to the TV ads, where every employee seems nice & cheery, it would be different in my reception in reality. This isn't the 1st time either, it would seem that if the employees see the same folks over & over again, why wouldn't y'all just be nice everytime?? I know the ones that are NICE & will GREET me, I can count them on 3 fingers & they deserve a RAI$E. I used to have a BLACK CARD and it's the same @ a lot of other locations also.
My conclusion is and I hope the CEO's and all franchisees see this: YOUR COMMERCIAL ENERGY DOESN'T MATCH REALITY. GIVE INCENTIVE$ TO THOSE WHO EXUDE THE SAME POSTIVITY YOUR ADS SHOWCASE, AND FINALLY MAKE ALL EMPLOYEES AWARE THAT... The Manager, Nina M., at this Red Lion location, was very helpful. I needed to handle a refund issue and freeze payments in my account due to schedule changes that stopped me from attending the gym for a bit. She informed me how I can open my account again when I’m ready to return to the gym. She also informed me how the location was going to close and move at the end of the year after I asked about it so I can plan accordingly and be up to date on what’s happening with my home gym location. On Wednesday Sept 11 my locker WITH A a LOCK was broken in to. They stole my wallet with EVERYTHING in it. I went to the manager to report the incident and run tapes I had time stamps from the time I left the locker room and the time I got the first text message that my card was used. Long story short the manager said she didn’t see nobody leave the locker room after I left. How is that even possible?? At the time it didn’t register because I was very angry about what happened but this makes me think was it an inside job? How don’t you see anyone leave when I have the exact time stamps? I don’t like to make accusations like this but come on this is people’s belongings we’re talking about. I was told by the police when I made the police report that another woman had the same issue at the same gym on the same day. So if there’s issues with people breaking into lockers why not have the employees do frequent locker checks or not have people just lingering in the locker rooms. This whole situation rubbed me the wrong way I’m seriously considering joining another gym.

Hi it's me again, I was training 3 weeks due to now. What I can say is it is a decent gym, it's not a bad gym, I thought it would be a bad gym but it is a nice gym, nice personal(some of them), so I would not count each pros and cons , I would say it's just a decent gym, and nice gym 👍

I used to love this gym & atmosphere but there’s one employee always harassing myself and others. I’ve formally complained many times. He’s called me out my name, while there, when I denied advances to date him. He’s almost gotten into a fight while there and management was there and knows and yet he’s still there! Near me while I work out? How. He even made it clear to me he’s a felon and I have it on record he told me not to get my gym mate in a situation he doesn’t want to be in. He sags his pants below his underwear, visibly… approached my daughter who’s 19 asking how he can get to me romantically… and many complaints made. My peaceful experience changed so much! He has multiple complaints from patrons and his own supervisor! Brian!

Amazing location with excellent service and a variety of clean, working machines for any workout regimen. Locker room, changing rooms, showers and bathrooms are always clean. Hours of operation are great, and in case of holiday change, are posted well ahead of time. Never had a billing or payment issue. Staff is friendly and hardworking. Would recommend to anyone looking for a safe, spacious, and organized gym.

Terrible attitude, I attach a photo proof of words. My subscription is 10$, they withdraw 25$. BUT I canceled my subscription 2 months ago and the employee (girl) at the desk didn't, she lied. It's sad and they don't want to stop it

The showers are contaminated. I watched the employees clean trash cans in the showers. They cut off locks without warning or telling you about any policy. Male employees go in to the woman’s locker room without warning, whenever they want. The showers have flies, the water is always cold and the changing rooms are filthy. Now they have a dress code, you can’t enter the gym with slides. Crazy! Stay away!

I hardly see people wiping down equipment after use which is extremely annoying since i have to then walk back and forth wiping before and after i use every machine. no one is ever on the floor enforcing anything. people sit on machines making out or on the phone. seriously thinking of leaving planet fitness for a different gym.

I like this gym very much. It is kept clean every day and the staff are very friendly. It would be perfect if we could change to a leg lift machine that can carry more barbells and open 24 hours a day.
