i’ve been a black card member and gone to many pfits throughout PA but this is by far my favorite. the staff is always so kind and welcoming. we always have conversations and exchange hellos and goodbyes when i come in. even if i have a problem they are fast to get on it and make my experience the best. they also keep the gym so CLEAN! ALL of the staff is amazing and specifically Hal is that gal !!! Hal and the entire team brighten my day and keep me coming back!

I’ve been going to this planet fitness before the new employees and new people honestly the staff are wishy washy the lightskin guy that’s there in the afternoon and the manager that’s there sometimes they are nice the rest looks like they don’t even wanna be there or communicate with who they wanna communicate with the girl in overnight is nice she speaks but this new staff is not it. Overall those people I named and the location is great.

I have visited a few of the downtown Planet franchises over the years, but today was my first time at this one. I found it much cleaner, including less weed smoke in the locker room/bathroom area. Equipment is standard planet fair, but it appears to have more cardio equipment than anything else. I'd have no problem coming back.

This is the worst Planet Fitness location in Philly. The people who work here are rude. They gave me lip after telling me it was PF policy to sign some paper before using their Blk card machine.I was too tire to sign it so I said, Nevermind, "You guys have a nice day" and they got sassy and gave me lip.
I check this location off as a PF not to go to.
I feel sorry for the locals.

I arrive there with my son during the overnight hours, the staff are very friendly they greet my son and I with hellos and have a good evening when we leave, they do a great job keeping the place clean and staying stocked with the paper towels and spray cleaning solution for us.
I'm a black card member and visit many PFs around the city, this seems to be one of my son's and I favorite so far.

Just had the best experience at the Planet Fitness on Broad & Spring Garden. Terrance, the assistant manager working the front desk too great care of us and both my wife and I signed up for memberships on the spot. The gym looked great and had a very friendly and welcoming vibe. Grateful to have such a nice location near us!

The staff are great in general! I happen to have seen & remembered Ricky & Xavier's names, but the overnight staff and the morning staff are also excellent; friendly, helpful, and responsive. The arrival of the new equipment was a pleasant surprise. I've had opportunity to try several PF clubs in the past 6 months while travelling, including clubs in several states, and the Board Street club compares very well, especially for a relatively new club.

This gym's promotional enrollment techniques are very misguiding. Once you enroll other fees and payments show. Then even if you have two forms of payment, they go with the credit card which adds a $15 fee. Also, the gym adds other fees to the annual payment. If you complain about all these charges, their solution is to cancel the membership for a value of $25. So no matter what, you have to pay to cancel the gym. This gym should be investigated for predatory business practices!!

I was there today. I had a rough week and I wanted to use the meditation pod, but as I was using the meditation pod, all I can hear was the people at the front desk. I couldn't focus on my meditation. I asked if I can close the door outside the meditation room. They said, no, it was never an issue before, but now it is. The new staff there doesn't work. I like the old staff and the way things were before if you ask them to close the door they say no problem, these new guys are not working out. You can't even meditate, all you can hear is their conversation outsidethe room.

I also go regularly to a Planet Fitness in another city. This one is exceptional, in comparison. The new machines are so much more comfortable to use. There are rarely any machines out of service and those are quickly repaired. Black card equipment is likewise excellent. The space is very attractive -- windows, lots of room. At this location, the vibe is focused but friendly. Weightlifters have not imposed themselves and people generally do not sit on machines looking at their phones while resting between their second or third sets (unlike the other location). Good air conditioning, sanitizer always available, clean washrooms, friendly staff. One quibble: Both locations have only one pectoral fly machine. Someone needs to realize that this is the most heavily used machine in the place. An exceptional Planet Fitness.

I’ve been coming to this location for a few months now, I really like this PF and the staff are helpful as well as friendly. I signed up to this particular location after experiencing with another PF that I was having issues with no staff being at the gym during hours of operation, and the reason I picked this location was because I saw that it was a 24 hours 4 days a week. Me personally work out during after hours due to my job so I rely on having access to a gym to stay consistent with my routine, well I recently found out that they adjusted there opening hours for Mondays from 24hrs to 5am due to shortage of staff. It didn’t surprise me because I kind of saw that coming seriously, it’s just very frustrating because now I’m gonna have to readjust my workout for Mondays due to this change. I just hope they don’t keep decreasing there hours here because that will force me to cancel my membership because I personally signed up for a 24hrs gym…

I love this gym so much, but as other reviewers have said, there’s no hot water in the showers. This is so important for me because I go back to work right after my workouts so I NEED to shower here! As a black card member, I don’t feel that I’m getting my money’s worth, and a warm shower is not a lot to ask of a gym! And to address the responses PF has given to those reviewers, people have asked staff about it. I asked a week ago if there was anything they could do. The staff member was so friendly about it, said they had received many complaints and would check with their manager again. It’s been a week since then and nothing has changed!! I know for a fact Retro Fitness across the street has hot water so if this doesn’t get resolved I’ll sadly be taking my business elsewhere. PF please reach out to the management of this facility to resolve the problem, maybe you’ll have better luck than their staff and customers. Looking forward to your response.

Be warned! No hot water! The sink and shower water are cold! I tried to take a shower and ran the water for several minutes. At best, the water got *slightly* luke warm. I was shivering! I was unable to take a proper shower. I thought this would be a good location for me since it's half way in between work and home, but unfortunately not. I need to be able to shower before work after I finish a workout. I want to be warm. This isn't an unreasonable request. And as a Black Card holder, this is extremely unacceptable. I let the front desk girl know. I'm not sure if she'll report it. I've been getting the vibe with this gym that things don't work and that's just how it is. Guess we get what we pay for with a budget gym. 🤷

The staff was horrible. I was extremely disappointed. It was my first time going there, and I didn’t know you had to sign up completely online. They directed me to sign up and I asked to use Apple Pay because I didn’t bring my whole pocketbook to the gym. They said we have Apple Pay we just can’t charge you the sign up fee that’s online. Honestly that was fine because I just ended up calling my bank and getting the information, but the part that was bad the girl helping me keep directing me to leave! I keep asking questions and she was like kept saying “ you know you could do this at home” “if you did this at home maybe it would be easier”and she said it at least 4 times when it was very obvious I was gonna get my account taken care of first. I kept saying no I’m not I already came up here. Like why are you insisting I leave because you don’t want to answer my questions???? And they have a whole area for first time sign up in the planet fitness so why are you telling me to leave!!! I get my account set up then I workout but when I leave I wanted info on the services I get with the black card. Again my first time so of course ima go up to the front desk people who are supposed to be friendly but are not and asked. I asked a different girl what services I have with the black card. she was behind the front desk leaning against the wall not doing anything, so I thought it was safe to ask her and it wasn’t! She was get telling me tanning, massage chair, and wellness pod but the girl was whispering it so I keep saying huh. She literally did not move from the wall she was leaning against to come closer and I very obviously couldn’t hear her!!!!! I asked several times to repeat and then finally I said I can’t hear you can you walk closer to the front desk. She rolled her eyes slowly walked the 4 feet to me repeat what she said then I finally heard her. I proceed to ask what is a wellness pod she gave me another face like I’m supposed to know what it is and was like just pointing at the door and was like you go in the and mediate and I like huh. I just ended up leaving everybody in there was sooooo rude. And I SOON as I left and turn the corner the whole entirety of the front desk girls erupted in laughter at me. Who the wants to be laughed at leaving a gym just because you didn’t know the setup. I thought planet fitness was friendly and it was one of the worst experiences I had in my life.

Horrible! The staff had no knowledge of a “free day pass” no personality, we asked questions and she shook her shoulders. She seem lost. Like they have no training working there.
