My very first day walking into this gym. I had a very poor interaction with the manager. While I was working with one of the people who were at the desk who was attending to me while I checked in, he looked over and came as if he is going to assist, but he would not hear me out and allow me to say what it is I needed it. He just assumed what I needed. I continuously try to tell him to stop so that he can hear me out and he kept saying he understood what I needed and he still did not get accomplished what I was trying to get accomplished. That is very poor customer service when I asked who the manager was he said me so that just made it even worse. That’s how I found out he was the manager.

Toilets are consistently clogged and utterly foul on the weekends. The grips on all the new plate loaded machines have been defective since they got them. The grips rotate, which theyre not supposed to do, making the machines difficult to use and increasing the risk of injury.

We've been going for a few months now and have had zero issues whatsoever, up until last Wednesday (8/6/25).

Walking in around 2pm or so we were confronted by the front desk employee who demanded we stand for photos. We were naturally confused since all prior visits had never had anything like this, but this short moment of confusion as we prepared to follow instructions was responded to by the employee with extreme aggression and rudeness. He repeatedly demanded if we "had a problem" with it, then rudely dismissed us after we readily complied.

I've almost never been treated so poorly by customer service and will likely not be returning while cancelling our subscription as a result to take our business elsewhere. Very very disappointing.

Staff is nice. Manager is nice. I dont think the equipment choices in recent renovations serves a diverse demographic of customers.

My biggest issue is that most if not all the new equipment is not really for everyday folks. I think they could have done better with the selection of machines on the floor in that regard. As a result, for some common machines, typically leg machines, the wait time crazy high.

For example, they went from 2 leg presses to 1 (unless you want to lay on the ground) 2 leg extension to 1, 2 leg curl machines to 1. Got rid of the calf extension machine altogether. Went from 2 Adduction and 2 abduction machines to 3 garbage ones that do both.

At the same time they expanded the 30 minute section and put it in the middle of everything. They got like 8+ bench machines....all of this has been mostly empty when I am there to observe.

The rep. counters on the new machines, the ones that no one wanted, they dont work.

To the owners response, I gave this feedback the manager. He was respectful but I think he dismissed my feedback maybe.

The staff is friendly and the costs of Planet Fitness are very reasonable, but, among other things, this particular location has old, outdated equipment that is breaking down and often filthy.

National Fitness Partners (NFP), which evidently owns the local PF franchises, has clearly not made the Edgewood location a priority. It has older model machines than other nearby locations: the ones here are bigger, clunkier and/or lack features. It’s missing the free (loose hanging) resistance bands that seemingly all other locations have. More significantly, some of the equipment is broken and needs to be repaired or replaced. Others are simply very dirty.

Given the poor general hygiene and low standards I would never use any of the other facilities available here to me as a black card member. This isn’t a concern at the other PFs I’ve been to.

National Fitness Partners needs to replace broken, outdated or missing equipment and maintain a higher level of cleanliness at the Edgewood location.

We are visiting Pittsburgh for about 2 months we are from Raleigh North Carolina we use four different planet fitnesses in the Raleigh-Durham area and have never encountered some of the issues that we see at this one to be quite honest. Has never seen at the other locations out of state where people sit behind the counter. The staff almost never smiles or gives much ele contact. And as many young people spend a lot of time on their cell phones. We have never seen a child or friend of a staff member behind the counter before but you will find it here. One Sunday we came in to work out we usually don't work out on sundays and the men's bathroom was absolutely filthy. Lastly we have seen a few homeless people that do use the men's room we don't have a problem with it as long as everybody respects everybody's personal space. To be honest if it didn't have the Planet Fitness badging we wouldn't know it's the same chain it's down in the Raleigh-Durham area.

Oh wow! I pray this was an isolated incident. Black card member, first time visitor to this location. The first impression through the door was an employee and what seemed to be a friend behind the counter talking it up. Employee gave a quick hello and a smile as they were laughing it up. Didn’t know this would be the last smile I would see from an employee that day. The strange part about it was the young child behind the counter as well. . .ok. As I entered the locker room I noticed what seemed to be a customer taking full advantage of the space. There things were spread from the locker to the adjacent wall. Rude but not uncommon, but a first for me. Thank God I didn’t forget my lock today. I locked up my gym bag and grabbed my contacts to put in. Washed my hands, put in my contacts. They gentleman who’s stuff was spread all over appeared. He seemed to be singing to himself and changing. So I said to myself, I glad this dude is leaving. He seems a little touched. I went to work out next to my wife. I tend to clean off every machine twice. After cleaning it, pressed the buttons. It was broken. Found another machine and started my 30min cardio. The gentleman from the locker room reappeared. Heading to the front counter. Singing to himself again. That grabbed the attention of those around him. A woman walking by us, gave us an alarmed look of what’s wrong with him. He went to the front desk and was stationed there for a awhile. He then, in full clothes(non-gym attire) started doing exercises in the center of the gym for about 3-5 min. I was now concerned about his presence and instructed my wife to keep her valuables close.(iPad, beats headphones) After my 30min cardio I returned to the locker room to find his things still spread all over. At this particular point it was clear that this young man was suffering from mental illness/possible homelessness. I double checked my lock and went on with my work out. Having to now keep an eye on this man. I observed him later using the front desk phone. I saw a cell phone amongst his things in the locker room. Continuing with my workout, my wife finished her hour cardio and asked me to lock up her IPad in my locker. When I returned to the locker room the man was just walking about with his things still spread all over. To my shock, when I went to grab my lock it was covered in a greasy substance, I hope was just lotion. At this point my thinks were no longer safe in this club. I decided to put them in the car and finish my work out. My wife asked me why I had my gym bag. After explaining to her what happened, she said let’s just go. After all this, time to talk about our brief but crappy employee experience. So on the way out, we decided to use the hydro beds. My wife went in first as I returned my bag to the car. I approached the front desk to ask about the process. The smiles appeared to be gone. After my question she pointed to the check in kiosk. It was pretty self explanatory. But the kiosk posted a time that was a little confusing. Sadly I had to ask this poor employee a question that would have us speak verbally to one another. Without eye contact and mumbling through her lips she answered my two questions. With me having to clarify both her responses. I enjoyed my massage and then spoke with my wife about her experience, which mirrored mine. My wife was alittle more irritated about her attitude then I was. My wife asked to speak to a possible manager to complain. The young ladies response was “corporate”. I have seen an owner responding to comments, but apparently you do not exist. Or at least this employee never met you. Godbless whoever has read all of this. I hope was just an isolated incident. I just wanted to give you a clear picture of our experience. The safety aspect of someone dwelling in the club and rudeness of the employee that day hopefully can be addressed. So disappointing. Thanks for your time.

I love the atmosphere at Edgewood Town Centre Planet Fitness! Everyone seems very comfortable and free to do their own thing. There are plenty of space and plenty of machines; I really appreciate that I never feel overcrowded and can always find a good workout option without having to wait around for it.

I’ve been desperately trying to pay this gym my membership fees for weeks. It’s a nice gym with nice people, but they seemingly refuse to take my money. I’ve gone in four or five times and told them specifically to charge me, and they just don’t. Late fees that I shouldn’t have to pay keep racking up, and the only person who can handle anything account related, money or closing, is only there at hours that most people are working. I really like this gym, it’s clean and the workers are nice, but I can’t help but see their refusal to help me and the convoluted way to handle it as a way to rack up fees. I hope whoever the one single person is sees this, because Im genuinely super disappointed in this gym.

I’m not really sure why this place has been judged so harshly in the reviews. Today was my first visit here and I almost went to a PF further away based on the negative reviews. I’m glad that I didn’t. There was nothing wrong with this location. I was helped quickly both times that I needed to ask for help from the front desk attendants, no wait for the hydromassage, and while I could pick at some of the things that my inner clean freak would be scrubbing, this is not a dirty location. Since I’m counting on making this my new home location after moving, I will update if I encounter any of the issues mentioned in reviews. But I have to say I was very happy with how clean the restrooms were in the women’s locker rooms and how comfortable I felt working out.

Without doubt the worst PF I've ever visited. 2:30 in the morning with one other guest in the building and no one new entering in the past hour and a half, and yet the bathroom is covered top to bottom with toilet paper and water and fecal streaks all over the toilets while the employee hasn't looked away from his phone or budged from the desk since I walked in the door. What's truly appalling is that I scroll through reviews of this facility that are literally more than a year old and the same problems are being mentioned in reviews and the same stock answer is given by the business every time: "we strive for better?!" There is some harassment being pushed by the manager, Todd, here at this location. Be careful going to this location. The front desk guy light skinned, curly hair followed my boyfriend to the restroom and watched him pee because he was upset over a past due balance... That's not okay. Update to my previous review under Latoshia Reeves. The creepy guy with the curly hair has changed his hair to a mullet style. So, if you see a light-skin guy with a mullet, glasses, and a tacky mustache, please stay away from him. He works Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays starting at 3pm. I am leaving this gym permanently because of his constant grotesque and harassing behaviors. I am even going back to my home state because of this psychopath. He will watch you like a hawk from the front desk as you are working out making it terribly uncomfortable to focus on your goal of getting in shape. He will turn his back on you when you enter the gym as though he is too good to give a greeting, which is fine because no one is required to speak. But then he proceeds to stalk you like a certified lowlife once he sees you are minding your business. As a government employee of two sectors, I thought I had seen it all and experienced it all. But this freakshow takes the cake. I even saw him and a friend watching me walk to the parking lot recently and it wasn't to ensure I safely got to my vehicle. This gym staff is full of unprofessional children who are more interested in harassing than helping. They will stand around in a little group horsing around instead of helping the gym-goers. But mullet guy is the worst of offenders. Nothing like being a female and feeling like prey to predator. I actively call a family member when I am at the gym to ensure I have a safety net. I hope your experience will be different than mines now that you know who is the source of constant discomfort. He used to even carry his cleaning cart in directly in front or behind me with the cleaning supplies when he didn't even need to be in my area. What kind of place is this planet fitness running? And no amounts of messages to the management staff helps. The survey is a waste of time. It's as though the management staff encourages this type of behavior. Just arm yourself with a taser or go elsewhere.

I like this planet Fitness been going here since 2013 the only drawback is it's NEVER CLEAN the trash cans are always over flowing the bathroom
are dirty the spray bottles are empty the people at the front desk are always on their phone

This location is huge. There is enough space and equipment for even the most crowded of times. The equipment is also some of the newer models and are in working order. The only drawback is that this has to be one of the dirtiest Planet Fitness I have ever been to. I mean no one mops the floors, empties the trash, or dusts the machines. The last photo I posted shows what looks like years of dirt on the back of one of there TVs. There are dust bunnies large as real bunnies in this place. And I won't even go into the filth in the locker rooms. Please hire someone to clean at this location.

PF Edgewood is spacious with a separate spa area with privacy glass, cool temperatures and soothing music. The locker rooms could be swept and wiped down more frequently but the exercise and spa space is nice and tidy. This location and North Huntingdon, (my fav) are really nice!

Lots of machines...clean...awesome hours What I would like to see is possibly a swimming pool.I would like to see rules about not texting/talking and holding up machines. It's one thing to respond to a text and go on with your workout. It's another thing to text for more than 5 minutes while sitting on a machine and not doing a workout. I know i can report it, and there is a fine line with this matter. However, many times it has held me up from finishing my workout. More signs to remind people to be courteous about this issue would be a start to resolve this issue.

Been a member for more than a decade now. As far as the location in Edgewood Town Center....
I love the huge open space and the amount/variety of equipment.... BUT - I've been to a LOT of PF's around Pgh, as well as many others in several states (I travel quite a bit) and this location is the worst one I've ever been to! It's so filthy I couldn't even shower after my workout because I was top grossed out by this place! The floors are full of debris, hair, and general filth. The garbage cans in the locker room were overfull and spilling out into the ground. I'll stop there and spare you all any further details.
I can't say that I'm very surprised, though....
The first thing I saw when I walked in was a customer standing at the counter waiting to be helped while the 2 attendants were right in front of her, behind the desk, too engaged in their phones to notice her, let alone clean anything.

It's cheap but the machines are all either terribly put together or they are so worn that they are not straight/ even/ level.

Most machines also have way too restricted of movement and don't let you get a full range of motion especially the elliptical and bench press machine no matter if you put the seat up as far as it goes..

I moved here from out of state. It's a temporary move as i am going doen south next year. This gym is close to my location. I used to like it until a creepy guy with glasses and curly hair behind the front desk started showing up alot more. He will go out on the floor and target people to watch and invade their personal space. I reported this to management but decided to leave this gym as there are a ton of other locations 15 minutes away. I wouldn't write this to be malicious. I don't know the guy. I am a government worker who works from 7am until 7:30pm. I come to the gym for stress relief. I've had so many anxiety attacks because of this guy and his grotesque conduct. There were other incidents outlined to management but they don't take the safety and security of females seriously. The rest of the staff is great. But because the guy with curly hair and glasses is scheduled the most shifts, I will drive 15-30 to a gym where it is free of thirsty youth. And it isn't like I wear crop tops and booty shorts. I wear an oversized shirt that covers my butt and yoga pants that aren't inappropriately tight. So....why all the looks? Leave girls alone to work out in peace. All of the gym goers are super respectful as well. It is just this guy who hasn't gotten the memo.
