I don’t think they’ve cleaned the men’s room since the former manager left a few months ago. I used to go in to wash my hands before going home, but it smells so bad you can’t even go in there. Just filthy.

Was visiting a friend in town and decided to go to the gym.

This location is much smaller than my own. But it still had everything I need. I went on a Sunday so it wasn't very crowded.

The girl working the desk was extremely helpful with helping me to check a friend in.

I was a bit surprised that they do things a little old school.
I am a black card member and in my location they have a computer that you log in for.. at this location they use a clipboard.
I guess I'm a little spoiled for my location and Hermitage... I'm used to them cleaning the beds and at this location you have to clean your own.
For the massage chairs they give you a token.

I joined Planet Fitness McCandless shortly after it opened. Never having belonged to a PF, I wrongly thought this was what all PF facilities were like. While on vacation I visited a PF that was not remotely close to the standards set by the McCandless PF. The facility was not clean, the equipment was in disrepair, and I saw no staff when I carded in.

This experience made me recognize what an outstanding job the Club Manager, Caitlin, and her team at the PF McCandless do in maintaining this facility. The team at the front desk is always present, friendly, and courteous. The locker room, gym, and spa areas are always clean, the equipment is well maintained and there always seems to be a presence in the gym checking the cleaning stations, sweeping, or putting equipment away.

I highly recommend Planet Fitness McCandless, now even more than ever.

A nice friendly staffed gym. Very clean. I was a crunch member for year but it went downhill fast. I would have given a 5 star but it is turning into a crunch atmosphere with the phone usage of mostly young members texting, facebook,and phone conversations while on the machines. I done mind waiting for the machine being used, but not waiting for you to get done using your phone. They need to control this better.

This is an amazing Planet Fitness! Mind you - I go in the mornings so I haven't experienced it at other times. The staff is always friendly, and they keep it clean. The manger/owner rolls up her sleeves and doesn't ask her staff to do something she wouldn't do herself. They are responsive to notices (water fountain leaking, machine is loose), and general questions about my membership. No one, ever, has been rude or taken any sort of tone with the customers.

The morning crew of gym goers are always kind, and I have never had issues about sharing machines. That could also be because they are never enough of us to overwhelm the machines, either. I feel good coming to this location and I am happy to have it as my home location.

I love this location. The locker rooms are so nice, but the people that patron here get on my damn nerves. It's too much like right to just ask when I'll be done with a machine or how many more sets I have. It's always some screw faced white man trying to rush me off of a cable machine by coming close and using the bands or the pull up bar when I've just gotten on the damn thing. They do it to me every single time I'm in there and it grinds my gears. The cable machine in the back area must be the most loved or the only one. I've never used any machines in the front of the building. I wish planet fitness had some women only facilities. I'd pay extra. Please squeeze in a couple more cable stations.

It’s a shame some of the staff is rude and unwelcoming because this is one of the locations that has the new “Wellness Pod” machine. Which I loveeee! I am someone that has a hard time “sitting still” and relaxing / being mindful. The wellness pod helps me quiet my mind, I will go on a long rant if I try to describe how it works. So even though I love using that machine, I have yet to return to that location. I pay for my black card membership for the black card spa amenities. I work a job where I was a lot and using the hydro massage helps my muscles recover. And the black card spa area is one of the only places I feel relaxed. Employees at most locations know there are some people who buy the black card membership for this reason. And they don’t judge. At this location, I felt like I was judged. And it was by one employee in particular, I did not get her name yet she seemed to in her late 30’s and dark hair. She didn’t mind being friendly and chatting with the male guests. Yet earlier when she was using one of the massage chairs, she sneezed and I said “Bless you”. Then she said “Thanks”, sighed and walked out back to the front desk. Like okay… never mind I take it back then haha! I don’t know if she still works there though. Hopefully not :) . That is all.

5 stars, easily. Until they implemented the new hours. Closing at 7pm is simply not what me or many people want in a gym— especially one that is primarily alluring for ease of use and access. Both of which are being reduced significantly with these awful new restrictive hours. The staff is wonderful and deserves a perfect rating. The hours? Deserve a negative rating.

I love this gym—it’s close by, has plenty of convenient parking, and the equipment selection is solid. Sure, it leans a bit more toward machines than free weights, but hey, cardio fans, you’re in luck—there are more treadmills here than at a marathon starting line!

My only gripe? The hot water in the showers is on a space mission—it takes so long to arrive that I’m pretty sure it’s making a round trip to Mars. But hey, I’ve adapted to cold showers post-workout, so I’m calling it an unintended benefit!

Staff was polite and very helpful, and other patrons minded their own business. It was a nice place to work out. I didn’t use the bathroom while I was there so can’t speak to that. The Black Card area was clean and comfortable. Most weights were on the weight wall. 1 was missing— not sure where it could be… All machines seemed to be in working order. I used a bike and a chess press machine.

Do not go to this location. Assistant manager Casey is rude and dismissive of questions and concerns. Dismissed me and told me she was canceling my membership. How can someone treat a paying customer this way? PF should honestly be ashamed.. save yourself the trouble and go to another location so you don’t have to deal with rude representatives.

The Planet Fitness on McKnight is great but the reduced hours on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays make it very difficult for me to use the gym. It's unfortunate, as everything else about the gym is wonderful.

I was so excited for them to open but I only go for tanning. There’s most often a wait because there’s only one tanning lay down bed. Crunch fitness has 5. Cranberry planet fitness has 7. I’ll give 5 star once more beds are added. It’s ridiculous. No one likes the stand up ones. Interestingly the robot response is of no value because I did suggest another tanning bed or replace the stand up with a lay down

Apparently, there have been multiple thefts in the locker rooms recently, even a manager had her purse stolen! They don’t feel the need to alert customers about this, and customer service reps are uncooperative when it’s reported. If you go, be very cautious! You’re not safe.

I go to theplanet fitness on McKnight road regularly now days also I often spend time in another state which has a planet fitness close by i joined up at that location recently
I like the location on McKnight road in Pittsburgh the staff is friendly accommodating .it’s much better then the one in etna
Only thing I don’t like is fitness have shortened there hours on Friday Saturday and Sunday recently

After recovering from open heart surgery a friend invited me to Planet Fitness with a guest pass. I was impressed by how many different machines they had, the cleanliness, and the friendliness of the staff. The cost was in my budget so I joined to try it out. The fact that they had long hours of operation really helped me get back into shape because sometimes you have to work out at odd hours to fit your schedule. Even on their busiest days you could get onto most of the machines that you wanted to. Having such a great variety really helps you tailor your workout to fit your needs. After a year my workout was solid enough that when I switched to a more physical job I had no problems adjusting. I decided to leave Planet Fitness only because I no longer have the time and my budget is even tighter with my new job. The only setback I ever had there was when I told them I wanted to leave at the front desk I was assured that my membership was cancelled only to be charged another month. Other than that Planet Fitness in McCandless was a wonderful experience for me. I'm hoping to rejoin someday once my schedule is back to normal.

Saw another person scammed here 3 months ago for cancelling their membership and then being charged the annual fee again even though they cancelled.

Just a heads up to anyone that if you try to cancel prior to the annual fee, they’ll still charge you it and won’t refund you either. The last time I went to the gym was January and then they charged me annual fee in April, and refused to refund.

They just so nicely said it was cancelled now after I was charged, funny.

Manager was no help and could care less about a struggling mom needing to pay for formula and would rather keep the $50 for herself instead of a can of formula for her 8 month baby.

I recently visited the planet fitness simply to utilize the tanning bed in preparation for an upcoming vacation. I checked in, purchased tanning lotion and was placed in "room #3".
As I approached the door, I noticed that it was a red light therapy bed. I returned to the desk to point out what I thought was a mistake, and asked specifically if I would tan in this bed. THREE of the employees at the desk assured me that it was infact a tanning bed with extra benefits. I proceeded back and "tanned" for the full time. I noticed no color change at all to my pasty white skin. After doing my own research at home after the fact, the planet fitness website definitely points out the health benefits to red light therapy, but also says that it is NOT a tanning bed. I will take some responsibility for trusting "trained, competent employees" verses my own research, but I will not make that mistake again. Thanks for wasting my time and money. Do better Planet Fitness!

Not cool company policy to let the opposite gender into the locker rooms. They had a sign made up for each genders locker room. I don't want a woman wandering around the men's locker room while I'm in there. Id be pretty certain that women don't want a guy in there while they are changing.
