Gym is clean and plenty of equipment to choose from. Only issue is alot of equipment was lost in the recent renovation. There are multiple machines where there are only 1 machine. For example the leg extension, this is a key exercise. This machine is near impossible to get a turn on at times. This gym definitely should have held onto a few more of the old machines when the renovation happened. Also miss the preacher curl machine they did away with. If you are reading this please get some more machines to keep up with the volume this gym has and this review will likely turn into a 5 star.

I alternate between the Muhlenberg PF and this one throughout the week and this one is by far my favorite of the two. It's a little smaller but it has far less traffic, much cleaner, machines are in better shape, and people who go here are more respectful of others and the machines.

It’s a gym you pick things up and put them down. I was going to sign up for a black card but adding a bank account wasn’t really doable at the time without added effort so my friend just upgraded his plan to black and they lost out on $25 bucks a month.. bad business plan and slightly predatory 🤷🏽‍♂️

Worst experience ever ! There is a lady named destiny who works in there she starts with an attitude and then states she doesn’t when you ask her why ?! then she thought it would be ok to speak out loudly my card had insufficient funds from the pervious months I did not go . I tried talking with her and telling her my card was locked and I paused my account and she still was rolling her eyes even told me that the facility has NO manager and I had to speak with someone eles who worked there just to find out the manager just wasn’t there that day and there is actually management I believe that women should not be working she tried stereotyping me saying I walked up with an attitude when in fact she never had a issue until I pointed out her attitude she was having . Very unprofessional just all around disturbing experience and if you are a colored women would not recommend this place this at all

i live in reading pa and went to here just to try it out too see for myself and usually go to exeter fitness in reifton Pennsylvania (amazing gym btw) and this gym is absolute mediocrity. not an environment of my personal ideal, mens bathroom smells like straight up marijuana (is a clean bathroom nonetheless), be very standard and basic expectations for an average planet fitness. if you're just a lifter who's not very serious about lifting it's a ok gym but it's just whatever. 🤷

Friday nights are slow. Not a lot of Lunkheads. Facility is clean, staff is friendly and competent. I found out tonight they usually shut down the tanning beds, booths, massage chairs and hydro beds at 9 pm.

This pf is pretty good. On the smaller side but not super cramped. They have 6 smith machines which is great, only one chest fly machine though. It gets pretty crowded at times so sometimes you have to wait for equipment. The free weight section is usually very crowded. Some people are weird about working in, but I guess that what you get at a planet fitness. Staff is always attentive and friendly. They don’t care if you occasionally grunt a little bit which is nice since it is a gym after all . The gym and locker rooms are clean. Overall it’s a cheep place to get a nice lift.

Canceled my pf membership in July 9f 2024 atleast I thought and was told by the young gentleman who assisted me that morning, well today April of 2025 I saw that I was being charged this whole entire time plus $15 late fees this is very upsetting 😡!I Canceled my membership because of ppl constantly recording ppl and the news constantly being played when sports should be shown 😒That is Not an atmosphere I wanna be apart of!!! And after today of realizing I was still being charged yea im completely done and it's my fault for not paying attention to what was coming outta my account 🙃

I feel like I get what I want in a gym for a very reasonable price. It is clean and the equipment is good - except for the rowing machines which I liked and I hope are replaced with new ones soon. The staff is friendly too.

Traveled to many gyms and Planet Fitness locations. This is one of the cleanest gyms you can find.
Staff was was helpful and friendly.
Gym is larger than it looks on the outside. But come the 5 o,clock hour gyms fill up, like the rest. Outside of the 5-6 rush hour had no problems on machines.

Gym is consistently not open on time. 3 days in the last 5 I have gone. (Including today) Most mornings I also act as cleaning crew putting away all the equipment that has been left on the floor from the night before. We know it's the cheapest gym, but there should be better standards.

Update- 3 days after my review and kind response from PF we are once again sitting in a parking lot at 5:15am waiting for this gym to open...

I'm not one to complain and I don't ask for much but if a gym is suppose to open at 5am it should be open at 5am not whenever someone feels like showing up. If you need to work out in the esrly morning before work..this is not your gym as on a weekly basis you will drive to the gym just to sit in your car in the parking lot. Very upsetting.

Staff are usually very polite and helpful. Manager Kayla was very rude now on the second occasion. Turning out the lights while people are still in the locker room is hazzardous. Yelling in my face to put down the weights at 6:57 is not good customer service.

I really enjoy the clean facility to get my day going on my strength days. The atmosphere is conductive to great peace of mind as i flow through my routine. The regulars are always friendly and the staff keeps the place sanitary. The showers are nice and cold; just how i like them after my resistance training. I originally gave this a 5 star review 3 years ago. But after my recent experience, I find it hard to keep it a 5. On December 2023, I came in person to cancel my membership as I do not use it anymore. I signed off on the pinpad and everything. Now its April 2024 and I noticed they have still been charging me ever since, including the $50 annual fee. I called to see what I can do, and it seems they cannot do anything for me.. So now I'm down $150 for nothing. Why is the cancellation process so difficult, and when I do come in person to cancel, they don't honor it and keep charging me?

Edit: A copy of my cancellation was never sent to me physically or through email. And the person I spoke with said they cannot do anything for me since I dont have the confirmation.

Overcrowded. There is low equipment availability for such a small place. Some of the patrons are on their phones and yelling on FaceTime which is distracting and no one deters it but i will say that at least the staff is friendly.

Cancelling membership. This used to be one of my favorite gyms. Now it's basically a cheaper version of LA fitness. Water fountain out of order for weeks. The staff is nice but the upkeep has gone to hell. It's too packed on the week nights that for 2 hours almost every machine is taken, lifting and cardio. People come in groups and are loud, slam weights, and talk loudly on their phone while exercising. The staff does not enforce any of the rules. Feels more like a hangout than a gym these days. No thanks.

I paid for a 24 hour gym I only have time to work out on the weekends and they are closed by 7. They say the pandemic caused them to close early but now they are raising prices on a gym membership that does half of what it used to offer. If I wanted that schedule I would have signed up for retro fitness that offers a wide selection of free weights and is more similar to traditional gyms.

The price is very good for good experience working out. They have good equipment for stretching. I really like the 30 minute workout area which is quite effective. The staff and the people are friendly. The locker rooms are adequate. They give you free lockers that you can use throughout the day, but cannot use for overnight storage. I would really love it if they had more areas for bench press and deadlifts. But overall, a great place to get in shape.

The planet fitness in shillington needs to be expanded, it is too small. It has two stairmasters and they are always being used, the ab area is very small, there is one spot to place your mat to stretch and do abs and that space is also used often, hopefully they will expand this gym soon because I like the price and the location.
