Easily the best gym I have ever been a member of. Been a member since day one but started coming consistently for the last 5 months. Great staff and the members are all cool. Great gym with many amazing machines, but they should make the sauna for top tier customers that wish to pay for it. It’s unfair that everyone gets charged for that service, even if you don’t use it. Especially, bc you can’t use it after hours, for obvious reasons. The gym gets way too packed during normal business hours. Besides the price increase, arguably the best gym in the valley.

One of the elite gyms in the Lehigh Valley

When I joined, I signed a Code of Conduct along with my membership contract...and unlike most places, they actually enforce it.

This location was once the beloved Gold's Gym Bethlehem, but Powerhouse has taken that legacy and made it their own.

The facility is spotless, open 24/7, features Hummus Fit Foods, and even has a full supplement and pro shop right at the entrance.

The front desk staff has always been great and attentive to members needs.

Last thing, and this may be the most critical:

At any point, if I have feedback or opportunity for improvement, the management team is all ears. That is RARE in any business, let alone within the fitness industry. Cheers to Powerhouse Gym Bethlehem, looking forward to continuing to grow with you

Lots of equipment. My first experience was on a day pass. I've been working 20 years, and this gym had so many different machines for the chest that I've never experienced before. Its easy to see why this gym is really popular.

I signed up the next day!

7 months later. They continue to upgrade equipment. In my opinion this is the best for anyone a who wants to challenge themselves with their fitness goals.

I've been really disappointed lately with the gym, especially after the recent price increase following the renovation. While they added a sauna and updated the light fixtures, the price jump doesn't feel justified.

The new equipment is great—no complaints there—but I'm taking off two stars mainly because of the sauna. It’s only open during staffed hours, which is understandable, but the staff hours don’t start early enough. Supposedly the sauna is available from 7 AM, but in reality, it’s never on at 7—sometimes not even by 7:30.

That means members like me, who go early in the morning or late at night to avoid the HUGE afternoon crowds, don’t even get to use the new amenity we’re now paying extra for. It just feels like I’m spending more money for something I can’t even use. Really disappointing.

Coming from an experienced lifter and gym go-er.

The machines and equipment are bad. Panatta, Hammer Strength, Arsenal Strength, Prime - they are over engineered and have wonky leverages.

The machines are too congested.

And most importantly, their cancellation policy is a scam when signed up for month-to-month. You must cancel 30 days before next billing cycle, so that means I would have had to sign up and cancel in the same day or else I would be paying $140 for two months. Beyond this, the managers show no sympathy.

I’m glad though, Powerhouse is a terrible community, and it should stay that way so that they don’t infiltrate the other good local gyms.

I thought I was going to be intimidated walking into this gym but it was quite the opposite. Everyone is so friendly and will offer their assistance if you need it. Everyone there is also so encouraging; we all have the same goal! To be a better you. Luis their GM, is absolutely awesome. He maintains a clean gym with solid equipment. A lot of this equipment I’ve never seen before and I’ve gotten the best workouts I’ve ever had. He also makes sure all of his members and staff feel safe and comfortable. Really couldn’t ask for more! Highly recommend checking out this gym!

Powerhouse is to gyms what Shady Maples is too eateries. The veritable cornucopia of machines is staggering. Everyday I see a new machine, as if they're breeding in the after hours. Amongst this smorgasbord of iron, space is tight and I wished they'd annex the derelict Staples next door. My only real issue is the lack of a large open area for stretching/sleds and the outdoor scanner that pays out slightly more than a Sunoco slot machine. Awesome gym, constantly evolving and unlike my calf development, never seeming to plateau. Keep up the good work!

I am a university student in the Bethlehem area who got serious into lifting a little over a year ago. Powerhouse gym has been a great lifting environment for me as I’ve progressed from a beginner to an intermediate lifter. I really enjoy this gym. Great staff, lots of equipment, clean and positive environment. They have a fridge area where you can purchase frozen meals if you're on the go and want a healthy meal, protein shakes, and so much more. They also have a vitamin/nutrition shop where they sell protein shakes, supplements and much more. When you first join the gym a personal trainer will meet with you to do a body analysis that measures your weight, bone and muscle mass and other things. Overall a great gym.

Paid $8 to come workout with my dad who has a membership and it’s a great gym that‘s well equipped with all different types of weights and machines along with some cardio equipment. We there from around 8:30-10 on a Sunday morning and it wasn’t crowded and no wait for any machines.

Gym has a large variety of equipment and you don’t have to wait for anything. Reason for one star is due to after-hours access. The barcode scanner to get in is not very high-quality, and can take upwards of 5 mins before you can get it to read your tag. What is even worse is that after waiting for 5 mins to get it to work, if someone else happens to exit through the door at the same time, they aren’t allowed to hold it open per policy, so you then have to waste another 5 mins with the barcode reader trying to get in.

Would suggest for the gym to use the other two doors that isn’t used next to the treadmills as an Exit door, and the other pair of doors as the Entrance door. For a gym that has a high monthly cost, would expect a more sophisticated way to get in after hours.

BEWARE if you workout here in the morning! For the last month they have a cleaning person here every morning from 6am-2pm spraying mirrors, garbage cans, counters, mopping floors in gym and restrooms, with toxic chemical cleaning products that are being breathed in when working out, leaving pools of cleaner on restroom floors that could cause slipping. While working out on treadmill, or machines they are vacuuming around patrons while they are working out! It is ridiculous! I called Muscle INC, and they said they only mop and clean after hours. Most businesses do not clean with toxic/ hazardous chemical with customers around. Will be going to another gym if this continues!

I also would like to reassure we do not use toxic and or harmful chemicals for cleaning. A perk of membership is we are a 24/7 gym and that doesn’t allow for after hours cleaning as we don’t have any. We set up the cleaning schedule based on check ins and slowest times in the gym 8am-2pm daily this was implemented we opened. Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience with the cleaning of our facilities. Thank you. NO -the slowest time is a gym is after 9pm! That's why most businesses have cleaning at night! And I read the Material Data sheets on the cleaning products you use, and they are toxic! Also they have fragrance! Fragrance is the new cigarette smoke.

Best Gym on the East cost. Pat did an amazing job starting this gym near the beginning of COVID and continues to improve. Shane does a great job at the front desk. Theres a physical therapy segment inside Run by Taylor Foster, who does an amazing job with manual therapy and is super knowledgeable. This is the best gym I’ve been to on the East cost. I had a motorcycle accident in 2020, and then follow up surgeries in 2022. It took me over a year, to finally feel well enough, to go to powerhouse gym. And with the uncertainties involved from recovery, I decided to hire a trainer. I could’ve easily put some more mods on my jeep, but I decided these mods, were the much wiser choice. I can always get a new jeep, but there’s only one me.
Justin, who heads up the Training department, assigned Ryan to be my trainer. In addition to being a competitive bodybuilder, Ryan has a masters degree in nutrition. I developed some bad eating habits during my recovery and carried them over, to the first month and a half of training. After discussing my diet with Ryan, he set me straight and I lost 10 of the 15 pounds, I set as my three month goal and still have two weeks left to reach it.
In addition to Ryan’s expertise, he’s an awesome guy.
This is some of the best money I’ve ever spent. I totally recommend, not only powerhouse gym, but hiring Ryan as a trainer. That’s not a knock on any of the other trainers, it’s just my experience.

Joined this gym with my husband about 2 months ago and have loved it so far! I love love this gym. I joined this gym 9 months ago. At first I was intimidated because of all the equipment and didn’t think I could “fit in”. Justin the personal trainer manager set me up with one of the best trainers at the gym, Ryan. And it has been incredible, I have learned a lot. I am now confident with going there and using the equipments. Ryan is a god sent, I have surpassed the goals that I had set, with his help and expertise. I’ve been a member with Powerhouse Gym for a year now and here’s my experience from almost every category.

1 Star Earned - Gym has good equipment with a wide variety of things to perform/do. Overall very nice and clean.

1 Star Earned - Very nice, approachable environment. People who go there to work out are overall very friendly. They’ve helped me out with form on some exercises and just talked with me for a bit

1/2 Star Earned - Decent parking

1/2 Star Earned - Numerous things such as as a posing room, supplement store, etc etc

1 Star REMOVED - Poor management/employment. I had to pay a good $2000 out my pocket for this gym and I can tell you, %75 has been gone to waste. When signing up, be sure that the employee EXPLAINS THE CONTRACT to you. Unfortunately, the employee that signed me up never did and I thought I was paying month to month but turns out I was in a yearly commitment the whole time. They never explained the stuff to me. Found out the hard way. Now if they won’t explain to you, I will right now. Monthly is your best pick because there’s no commitment, you just pay and you can cancel anytime however it is expensive. I believe around $50. For yearly, there is a commitment and you can’t cancel. It is $44.95 a month plus the beginner fee and annual fee. This gym is an influencer gym so high prices are to be expected.

1 Star Removed - Poor cancellation procedures. This is the one that ticks me off the most. YOU NEED TO GIVE A 30 DAY NOTICE ALONG WITH A CANCELLATION FORM. Now, when giving in your notice, be sure to write down the date and time you came in to prove your notice has been said in the range because the gym gives a shady vibe in my opinion so it’s best to write down your dates/times and take pictures/videos. The cameras go back months (said by one of the managers) so you should be good. Now, this form. Well ladies and gentlemen, this form is online on their website and needs to be printed. THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY COPIES IN THE GYM. I believe they don’t have any copies because they’re neighbors with Staples and Staples allows for printing for cheap like 25 cents but you still have to pay. Or do it yourself so that’s a bummer. Anyway, just write down you were there and yeah you should be good.

1 Star Removed - Poor management in training services. Now training here WAS good. I don’t know about now though. My personal trainer was FIRED for unknown reasons and they were supposed to notify his clients but guess what, they didn’t because apparently it looks bad on the gym to tell people he got fired so the poor guy had to let everyone know himself. Before he got fired, the training manager was really weird with him. Trainer told me the training managers a bit weird. I soon found out why. I had a bit of an anxiety attack because the training manager was monitoring our trainer so he followed us the entirety of our session and was staring at me working out and I felt uncomfortable. Trainer said he can file a complaint and I believe he did until the next day or two, he was fired by that same manager. I found that really weird. I was then switched to another trainer who I didn’t have a personal connection with which caused my progress to be at a halt due to a confusing new program and I ended up becoming prediabetic by following his diet plan. When that happened, they had to go to what I like to call the master trainer because they have a master in nutrition or whatever so he makes diet plans for diabetics but there’s only ONE of those master trainers in the whole bunch of them. And this particular master trainer LOVES to overcomplicate you. Anyway, that sucked. Also, my training plan was for 3 months but then it got tricked into 4 months so I had to pay an extra $280. No one told me my last month (that 3rd month) was almost over by the way so I paid for another useless month. THE 30 DAY NOTICE ALSO GOES FOR TRAINING TOO, NOT JUST REGULAR GYM MEMBERSHIP

Overall, Powerhouse Gym is a good gym just be sure to write stuff down, read the contracts (even though they take 20 minutes), and yeah that’s it.

Update:
I stopped going during the day and bought noise cancellations headphones. Now I don’t have to interact with anyone and I can enjoy my peace and quiet. Definitely the best gym facility in the Bethlehem area.

The equipments are incredibly and detailed to isolate muscles. I’ve been to many gyms, and I gained muscle mass here in a few weeks than I ever have at any gym. I’m impressed with this gym, I’m usually a introvert I don’t like going to the gym during busy hours but with Powerhouse gym it doesn’t make a difference because I’m having way to much fun exploring. I stay because I have evidence in muscle gains. The staff could be a little more welcoming, other than that the gym is clean and great place to workout.

Before you sign up! Please ask them to print out the contract before you agree and sign your life away. They didn't do that for me.. Hunter claimed they didn't have a printer... yet my BMI assessment was printed out in one of their rooms after the fact I signed the contract. You'll pay for goods but it won't come with services. Avoid this gym if you don't want to be like the rest of the peeps in these reviews (including me). Very pathetic... I signed up to be part of a friendly community and instead I got cut. I used to be a member at Equinox, LA fitness, Crunch, Planet, Blink, Bally's, Reebok and Gold's Gym. I never had any issues at any of them. This one is at the bottom of the barrel for me.

PROS:Great equipment and clean environment. I see new equipment being installed monthly which always makes me feel like I'll never get bored with my workouts. They have on-site trainers and a physical therapist to help you on your journey. They have supplements and tools to improve performance but they don't push them on you.

CON: The only bad thing and this being the reason for 4 stars is due to issues with billing (either being billed after canceling or having issues with canceling) that I have experienced and have talked to multiple people who have had similar issues. My experience was resolved by the gym but it was not easy, required multiple attempts to contact and a BBB Complaint before I was contacted with an alternate solution.

Overall a very good place for the price, i definitely recommend for peopke who will never intend to cancel, but be ready for a challenge if you do need to cancel. I plan to continue my fitness journey here despite the one issue.

Read the contract. Understand the contract. Had some life changes come up and wanted to exit my contract. They won’t allow me to exit because supposedly I signed a year long agreement.

Regardless if I signed a year or not, this is poor customer service and poor business practices. Scammy to say the least.

Of course people are going to choose the full year at the lesser rate. But life happens, and things come up unexpectedly, so why not have good customer service and understand that?

Solution: Make me pay the difference of what the month to month rate would have been? Or better yet, add $100 cancellation fee. Instead, I am paying $45/mo for the remainder 9 months of my contract because I had an unexpected life change.

This is what I mean by poor customer service and scammy. Give people a way out.

Great gym, absolutely best in the valley. I was there an one of their trainers, Joseph, came by to dicuss techniques and tips. He was helpful, knowledgeable and most of all enthusiastic. His tips really helped me out. Planning on setting up some training sessions.

great gym equipment-wise, but horrible management, tricks you into signing up for personal training and tried to overcharge me for it. one of their managers just called me to discuss that and hung up on me while I was in the middle of talking and was very rude. extremely unprofessional all around.

EDIT: yes he did hang up on me while I was in the middle of speaking. the fact that you are denying is just a further display of unprofessionalism.

EDIT 2: they’ve tried to charge my card everyday for the past week and a half for training, even though they had to fire my trainer for not following their policies which would have voided the contract. shady shady shady gym avoid this place at all costs and DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION

Wow. What an amazing gym. I was blown away just from the aesthetic as soon as I walked through the doors. I initially went there to purchase a pre workout called Wrecked that they carry at their Pro Shop and I just had to get a day pass to try out the equipment. The people here are so nice too. Super clean. Energy is off the charts. So much equipment to use and the owner is still adding new pieces all the time. Great place to workout. Best in the valley and it's not even close.

The environment and equipment are great here. I think the music is definitely played too loud but they don’t listen to the reviews about that. Originally I left this place 3 stars as they advertise the month to month membership as a “no commitment” cancel at any time type membership, but they have a 30 day obligatory notice period for cancellation anyways in which they will still charge you for the next period, which I feel is kind of underhanded. I also got a random $15 charge the day I tried to cancel, but I couldn’t cancel because I didn’t bring the form in. They offered to rectify it by waiving the last charge period which I appreciated at first, but I am changing my review to one star as the manager Hunter called me after I left an honest 3 star review, threatening me that he would charge me for the last period if I didn’t change it. So I will incur that cost if it means other potential members will know what they’re getting into.

Pros-so much equipment for every kind of fitness goal, supplement store and locker rooms with showers, offers massages and a posing room.

Cons-MASSIVELY CROWDED WAYYY TOO MANY PEOPLE, a majority of their clientele are wanna be influencers so you will be seeing a lot of cameras and hooligan behavior, gym music is REALLLLY loud so loud it’s like a club on Friday night.

Son had a month to month membership that he cancelled 6 months ago. A random charge appeared on his credit card this week and nobody at the gym could give me a straight answer. Buyer beware and check your credit card statements! Fraud has been an issue in the past!
