About the Club

PrideFit Training and Performance is a private, intimate, sports performance, personal training and physical therapy center as well as the home of Parisi Speed School Philly newly located in the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia. Owned and operated by Joe Ferrero DPT, CFSC, USAW, PES, a licensed physical therapist of 17 years, strength coach, sports performance coach and certified personal trainer, PrideFit is able to serve a wide range of clients and goals. PrideFit offers 1 on 1 speed and sports performance training for young athletes as well as 1 on 1 personal training, small group personal training and group fit for the general fitness population.

Joe Ferrero is one of the best strength and conditioning coaches I’ve ever worked with. He trains youth athletes, pros, fighters, and regular people from the community, and he gives everyone the same focus and dedication.

Pride Fit truly offers a results-driven approach to fitness. From the moment you walk in, you're warmly greeted and feel welcome. The initial evaluation is thorough, taking into account your fitness goals, nutrition, how you move with different exercises, and any pre-existing injuries. From there, they create an individualized fitness plan tailored to your needs with realistic, achievable goals. Within a month of going once a week, I started noticing results. The trainers are attentive, knowledgeable, approachable, and supportive. I have a pre-existing injury and was concerned it would interfere with my progress, but that hasn't been the case. Christine checks in regularly during workouts to ensure exercises are not causing pain and she is always ready to modify if needed. My fitness journey has been exciting, and the continued results make the possibilities endless- thanks to Joe and Christine. They quickly made me feel part of the Pride Fit Family. I love PrideFit! I’ve been working out here for almost two years and have really enjoyed seeing the gym community grow and expand. PrideFit is a 10/10 gym! I cannot recommend PrideFit enough to everyone; it’s the absolute best gym I’ve ever been to. Joe, Christine, and their trainers provide such a friendly, positive environment packed with a ton of knowledge and care. If you have any injuries, they stay aware of it throughout the workout, give you modified workouts if needed, and check on you throughout. I have struggled with being confident in the gym in my earlier twenties and I can truly say that PrideFit is such a great environment with their supportive culture. If you are looking for a gym in the area, this is the one. I have been going to Pridefit for the past 4 months using a mix of small group training and personal gym use. I had been yo-yoing in the gym for the past 3 years with no structure, consistency, or the discipline needed for actual results. I decided that was enough and chose to work with Joe and his team with the Small Group Training program. I am finally building meaningful muscle and getting stronger every week. We track every movement and build on it form week to week. It's exactly what I needed. For my personal gym time, I am often in there alone or with only 1 or 2 more people. I've been coming to PrideFit since February for personal training and has now moved to small group sessions, and I love it. It’s a great place to get stronger, stay motivated, and have “fun” while working out. If you're looking for expert guidance, accountability, and a gym that actually cares, PrideFit is that place.

Christine and Joe are very friendly and their knowledge, passion, and commitment to every single client is what makes PrideFit top notch. Thanks to PrideFit, I’m in far better shape in the 2nd half of my thirties than I was over ten years ago. I came to PrideFit after rehabbing a back injury/surgery, and thought I’d never really lift again. My goal was just maintenance and staying mobile. I had fallen off a consistent workout routine post Covid and was struggling to find the right environment that I would enjoy working out in and not feel intimidated getting back into the gym. I decided to do a trial small group training session with Christine over the summer and instantly connected with her.

All the trainers are really knowledgeable about safe and effective strength training and I really appreciate how they tune in with each exercise to see how I’m feeling and adjust the set accordingly, building strength and volume over time instead of overworking my muscles to the point of failure. Joe and Christine also are great about checking in on nutrition to ensure your supporting your body to strength train and recover post workout, and I can see noticeable results already. In just six weeks I am already using more weight than I have in my entire life and feel stronger and more confident in my ability to train.

Pridefit has really made me enjoy working out again! I love that the gym is not overwhelmingly big and has a great range of equipment and space to get a full body workout. They have really cultivated a welcoming, supportive, and motivating environment and I always look forward to going to my training sessions!

Pridefit is the place to go!! I first went to Joe with a bundle of overuse injuries and sports-related muscle imbalances. His background in both physical therapy and sports performance was a game changer for my training. As a former D1 lacrosse player now competing in endurance races, I was looking for a gym/trainer who could help me rebuild strength and speed while still training like an athlete. Joe, Christine, and the whole team at Pridefit have been nothing short of incredible and instrumental in my return to triathlon and marathon training. I have known Coach Joe since his days as an excellent soccer player at Roman Catholic High School, where he currently serves as the strength and conditioning coach with our nationally-ranked basketball program. Coach Joe was chiding me during our recent basketball season that I should start getting in shape to remain competitive as a PGA Golf Professional and for general health. Coincidently, I was diagnosed as a Type 2 diabetic at around the same time, which was not a shock. I was majorly overweight, my diet was awful other than dinner, and I was a ticking time bomb with an A1C bordering on heart attack or stroke territory. I have been working with Coach Joe and his team twice a week since April and the results have been amazing. Quite truthfully, they have saved my life, and for that I will always be grateful. The workouts are intense, but they build upon the first ones and add load and reps. We work on cardio, mobility (important for a golfer), and strength training during our training sessions. Coach Joe, Christine, and the entire Pride Fit team are all true professionals that have a wealth of experience to tailor the program to fit one's needs. I have lost over 30 pounds since April, my A1C is down by 5 points, my triglycerides are down 200 points, and my overall cholesterol is down from 223 to 190. There is much more work to do, and I do not intend on going backwards. I can't. The Pride Fit Training team is exactly what I need even though I am a very self-motivated person. They provide excellent guidance on everything from technique, programs, nutrition, and everything needed to get healthy again. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking to get "back in the game."

Joe at Pride Fit is absolutely amazing. He helped my son with speed and agility, and provided the best training workouts to get him in the shape of his life, for him to be accepted to the one of the top MLS academies. The support from Joe doesn’t end at the gym. He has also become a huge support system for him. Attending games and fitting him in for a session whenever he needs it.

Joe has also helped my daughter who recently had a high ankle sprain. Her therapist she was going to wasn’t listening to her and was causing more pain for her! After 1 session with Joe we saw significant changes and after 3 weeks she is getting stronger and stronger and will finally be ready to get back into soccer all thanks to him.

Pridefit is a great gym. I've been a member for 4 months now. I do 1-on-1 training sessions once a week and I join the group training sessions 3-4 times a week. I hate working out and joe actually makes it bearable. As a jiujitsu black belt with big competition goals, I was so incredibly lucky to have found coach Joe and PrideFit. In one year of working with Joe, he has transformed me completely as an athlete. PrideFit really is an awesome and safe space to workout in. Joe has created such a great environment so that everyone feels comfortable no matter what their workout experience is. His classes are usually no bigger than 6 people per class, so it is not overwhelming and he really is able to train everyone and give them the instruction they need in order to succeed. He makes sure to spend time actually correcting your form and making sure you are performing your lifts correctly so that you don’t get injured and get the most out of your workout. You can tell Joe really cares about his clients and wants to see everyone get the results they want. Joe puts a lot of effort and knowledge into his programming for all of his classes and even his individual clients. Personally, Joe has helped me grow and learn a lot about how to program my workouts to make them effective and showed me that I don’t need to change up my workouts weekly to see results. He also has taught me about the nutritional aspects and what types of macronutrients to eat around my workouts in order to maximize my energy and muscle growth. If you are looking for a gym to really grow in and feel comfortable doing it, than PrideFit is the place for you!

Our 10 year old son and 7 year old daughter workout with Joe. He is a great trainer with tons of knowledge. After one week of training with him my daughter got her kip in gymnastics. I had a recent minor knee injury which was caused by overloading leg exercises at the gym. I went to Pridefit Training to see Joe & he was able to diagnose my injury, as well as give me insightful tips to strengthen my knee & cure my injury.
