My kids and I love the Quakertown Y , but recently they changed their pool schedules and drastically cut down on “Open Swim” . It was replaced with “Personal Water Workout” which doesn’t allowed kids. It’s a huge bummer for the kids, but hoping the schedules change again in October.

We love the Quakertown y! We've done multiple kids programs, and the gymnastics program is top notch with caring and qualified coaches. The gym has great equipment, though it gets very busy (almost unusable) when schools are off or when they offer free use to non members. We come four days a week and can attest that the staff are the nicest people, and the facility is always clean.

I got a year membership for 2 of my kids about 2 months ago. A rude person told me today that they did Not have memberships. So I got to waste my time signing them up again! For some strange reason, she kept repeating that it had to be renewed "every 365 days". A couple months does not equal 12. Ridiculously rude. I was not able to give ZERO stars.

*** I CAN TELL BY THE YMCA'S RESPONSE THAT THEY DID NOT READ THIS. I SAID I got a YEAR membership 2 months ago. So YES obviously 🙄 it would be renewed every YEAR. Gym is always a great outlet for some weightlifting. Although, I decide to buy something from one of their vending machines. The merchandise never came out, so I was deducted $6.00, after 2 swipes which went through as a transaction, and when reporting it to the front desk, the woman just acknowledged the thievery, and ignored it. 😤 At least, I got a good workout in on this rainy Sunday. 💪Come here for the workouts, and bring your own supplements to avoid being hustled out of your money from the selective vending machines. One of the ladies at the front desk made a note of it. All I can do is laugh over this.

I really enjoy playing basketball here. From the G Hook of the guy with the thick beard, Dirty Sanchez dropping his shoulder on 15 year olds, the Harden Step back (dude use to have a mullet even, the rapper with blond tips on his hair, BoomBox dribbling behind his back with ease then air balling a 3 foot shot, Mr Leva with his 4 step travel step back, Rodriguez being up 15-0 on 14 year olds and still playing like it’s game 7 of the finals, and last but not least Clark Kent with his Catapult 3 these are the best runs in Bucks County. High quality group on gentleman!!

Today around 8:30 AM, I dropped my 17 month old son off at the child center, so I could work out for an hour in the wellness area. It usually takes him about a minute or two to calm down once I drop him off. And the girls usually pay attention to him and help him transition. This time I don’t know who was working… But when I dropped my son off, he ran over to the window when I was walking by and followed me the whole time through the window and he was crying very hard. I stood on the other side of the wall where he couldn’t see me for two minutes and for those whole two minutes, he was crying and screaming his eyes out. I then went to the bathroom to give it another minute… And when I came back, he was sitting in the corner in the same spot, still crying, and no one was paying attention to him. At this time, there were only two or three other kids in the area and three teachers. The three teachers were, standing around talking amongst themselves. No one was paying attention to my son. I decided I was not OK with this and I went to pick him up. He ran over to me right away and he had a huge gash on his forehead. So not only did they not pay attention to him while he was visibly upset, but they allowed him to get hurt. I was so upset, that we left. I wanted to bring this to your attention so it is not happened to another child.

What a community! I’m a new member but I’ve already been shown the kindness of close friends. The front desk ladies are so kind and chat with everyone. The instructors are amazing and inclusive. My 4 year old has done swim lessons here all year and loved them! I feel much more comfortable having her go to the pool this summer now that she has the foundations I’d swim down. She lived her instructor Izzy. This branch is nice, clean, and has very friendly and helpful staff. I would love more group classes offered on the weekends so I could make them.

Just joined the silver sneakers classes and it's awesome! It's exactly what I need. They took me on a tour and there is every thing there anyone would want. There's a pool and basketball and pickle ball courts. Also a weight room and a circuit room. I intend to explore all of it as I get stronger. All the staff personnel are super nice. I am thoroughly enjoying it!

I really like the gym there but every time I walk past the daycare area to get to the gym , I can see through the glass and the staff doesn't seem to be paying much attention to the kids, they are always talking to each other, on there phones, ect. Not to mention last time I walked past there was a little boy literally smacking a little girls butt? but the staff in the daycare part were not paying attention :(

The gym is fine overall, but the woman that works at the front desk in the morning is extremely rude and condescending. All I did was ask about the pool closure and she immediately jumped down my throat about it rather than just giving me the information. That's not how you treat a paying customer!

That interaction is making me question whether I should even continue my membership at this gym. Why would you put someone with an attitude like that in a customer facing role?

My 5 and 3 year old just finished the spring session of swim class at the ymca in Quakertown PA. The aquatics director, Ms. Becky, is amazing. All the swim instructions at this location are just fabulous, patience and skilled.
There are vending machines, tea and coffee machines as well, that’s an added perk for parents, as we all know, we are on the go..
I definitely recommend this location.

I noticed they only tell people who have children that aren’t they’re favorite that their kids can’t be anywhere in the ymca except the stay and play when I see other peoples kids running around freely doing what ever they want. Also the stay and play is only open for 2 select hours on any given day and that’s not always suitable for everyone with different work schedules. This gym membership is highly over priced for the quality of respect, availability, and convenience that is shown to members with children.

Really great facility with terrific resources on site, an excellent fitness center..and a really nice well maintained pool. The staff is welcoming and also understanding. Even in the wake of a minor mistake I made due to my own ignorance,(being from a different country) I was treated with respect and integrity. With who I represent in the competitive swimming and coaching world, that was very appreciated. I have nothing but praise for how things were handled, and the courtesy and consideration I was shown. I absolutely love the y. I've found a place to get healthy and work on self care but I have to give it 3 stars because it seems like the stay and play starts at the same time alot of the classes do or ends before the class ends causing me to either be late or have to leave early if they extended it by 15 minutes opening and closing it would allow parents to fully par take in the classes. I work go to school and take care of my kids by myself with zero help or relief. The y is the only place I have found that I can workout get healthy physically and mentally have a break from my kids and I feel like I'm not fully participating and it's extremely frustrating

Due to the recent changed I'm editing my review. I've been doing 2 classes for a while now never once received a call about picking the kids up now if I'm noy there at the 2 hour mark exactly they are blowing my phone up. It causes unnecessary mom guilt and makes me not want to go back. I could literally be walking to go get the kids and there blowing my phone up. It's extremely frustrating and counterintuitive to what there whole mission statement it. Seriously considering switching branches. Thus is the only branch that's limited like that

I am going to start this post by first saying that I truly appreciate and value what the YMCA does in regards to being community oriented. The front desk staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and engaging. They really do enjoy helpung clients out. The facility is really big and kept very well maintained. There is a lot to offer in this facility with the pool, sauna, basketball courts, pickleball room.
Now, to break down the weight room. The cardio room/turf area has elite equipment for people who are on strict diets/HIIT training programs. Love that they added a sled to the turf section. In regards to the weight room, the machines are top notch, dummbells are really great, love the metal plates, and love that they still allow the use of chalk. A lot of gyms wouldnt allow chalk, the YMCA does (have to clean up after yourself). The barbells though are a bit run down with minimal knurl on them as they are older York barbells that have seen better days. They do have a safety squat bar, but again, it has seen better days. They do not have a swiss bar, or a cambered bar. The only other negative of the YMCA outside of barbells, is they only have 2 squat racks. A lot of guests use these two racks for other lifts outside squats, so you may wait awhile if the place is packed.
If you are a swimmer, love to play basketball, enjoy bodybuilding, or just staying toned/getting/staying in shape, this gym is for you! If you are power lifter, or olympic weight lifter, you may want to look into another facility.

Thoroughly disgusted by how this YMCA treated my child while he was in their care. We planned for him to participate in Pizza Thursday and paid 2 weeks in advance, yet my son was turned away come lunch time, and the staff thinks our concerns are getting a refund, not the humiliation our son faced when all of his peers and counselors were eating pizza and he was not served lunch that he rightfully should have had. If a 6 year old approaches you and says they should have pizza lunch, the least the staff could do is double check their actual system to see that the order was in fact placed and that child is to be fed. What kind of teen/adult will eat in front of a child they just denied food to? Fortunately, we pack our son extra food on these days as he has a larger appetite and is very active, so just pizza doesn’t cut it for him. However, the Y staff member I spoke to instead said that this sometimes confuses the counselors when there is packed food (they are required to bring snacks). As if the incompetence of the staff is justified because he still had snacks to eat. Unfortunately, an apology does not fix this, though I have requested that the camp counselor at least apologize to my son. It is hard enough to stand up for yourself, especially as a child. This YMCA may as well be the lunch lady who turned down the kid for not having lunch money.

My wife and I signed up for swim lessons. We were immediately impressed with the facility and staff. After our first swim lesson we decided to enroll as members. Now we go there 4 days a week to swim or to play picketball. The facility is large, clean, well maintained and the staff are really helpful and courteous. We highly recommend the facility. And if you want swim lessons, see if you can get the Associate Director of Aquatics, Sarah to be your instructor: she is amazing.

Management has the audacity to charge pre covid prices yet cut classes, hours, and babysitting. I keep a membership for my daughter only for swimming lessons. Too high priced for lack of services.
