I started training with Ashley almost 6 months ago, and I have never felt better / been happier. I love having a trainer because it motivates me to show up everyday even when I don’t feel like it. Ashley is always switching things up at our sessions, so it’s never the same or boring. My worst fear about starting to workout alone or even with a trainer was that I was going to be judged, but I have never once felt like that even going to her group classes. I cannot wait to continue to feel / look better training with Ashley! I can’t recommend them enough. 10/10. If you’ve been thinking about signing up, this is your sign to DO IT! You won’t regret it!

I met Ray last year on my quest to add strength training to my fitness program. I came with little knowledge and lots of questions. Ray and Ashley are amazing personal trainers. Not only are they professional and knowledgeable, they make you feel comfortable when you're doubting yourself and your abilities. I am a mom with a busy life, average body and never really put my health first. Words can not express how grateful I am for Ashley and Ray. I was big into fitness for years,, but due to day to day life and health issues I had not worked out for about 3 years. My wife suggested we talk to Ashley about training. I am 67 years old, I started with Ray three years ago. I thought I was in OK shape, but my weight was high at 174 pounds. Since working out with Ray consistently four days a week, and doing workouts that he sends me one or two of the other days, I am at 149 pounds and probably in the best shape since I was 40
That’s my testimony!

But what I can say about rRaize fitness is, he is the most knowledgeable, non-judge, “not hard to look at “ expert in fitness. Staying healthy has always been a mission for me. And Ray has been able to help me stay fit, and most of all healthy into my older years. When I turned 60, my doctor told me it was of most important to really start taking my health ,fitness and eating seriously to get into the next 20 years. I have realized, that I would never push myself to the limits the way that Ray can encourage me on my sessions. Believe me I’ve tried. It does help me do the workouts that he does give me at home a lot better too, knowing that I will report back to him.
And it really makes me feel good, to let him see my success. Nothing better than teaching somebody, and helping someone and seeing the fruits of it.

My boyfriend introduced me to Raise after working with Ray for a couple of years, and I was nervous to get started - I had never done any weight training and had a messed up relationship with structured exercise after high school sports 🙃I have now been working out with Ray for 6 months, and my entire relationship with exercise has changed. Ray is the best! A few years after retiring from competitive swimming, I needed a bit of a kick back into a fitness routine. Coming to Ray has been the perfect solution. He offers both 1:1 and group classes, and takes the time to build relationships with all of his clients. He also sends workouts for you to do on your own, keeping you active even in your independent time. My quick review is I wish I found Raise Fitness sooner because I'm almost 52 and I've never been stronger or felt better!
I started at Raise a year ago. I was 51, a little heavier than I wanted to be and I knew I was out of shape. Over the years I tried several gyms and would use exercise videos at home but nothing lasted. I saw Ray on Pittsburgh Today Live and was intrigued by his 80/20 approach that included exercise and nutritional guidance. I wasn't sure what I could commit to but I started going twice a week for 45 minute sessions and I've loved it! It has become my new normal and I'm the strongest I've ever been. I notice it when I play tennis, kayak or go hiking. He helps you set goals and then gets you there! He designs work outs to work on what you need, checks in on you with a text to see how you are or remind you to work on your goals at home and he gives you workouts to do on your own the rest of the week. He's fun to be around but he really pushes you to work to your potential. It's been worth the 30-50 minute drive from the south hills! I also take my son with me 1 day a week. He's 23 and has Down Syndrome. He's very strong but a little over weight and does not like to work out. He loves Ray and Ray is very good at creating fun ways to keep him working hard. We have found a good fit at Raise and I really recommend it for anyone.

Ray is the best trainer I have ever worked with to meet my fitness goals. I moved to Pittsburgh and had spent a year without any clear targets or goals for my fitness. I spent many months just working out to the point of exhaustion. With Ray, I have found an excellent mentor on my fitness journey. Under his tutelage, I have improved my strength and technique resulting in a gain of over 5 pounds of lean mass as well as hitting targets I previously thought would be impossible for me, like a handstand pushup. He knows how to push you and is excellent at gauging your abilities. On multiple occasions, he challenged me with something new that I had doubts about, and to my surprise was able to perform effectively. He is a great listener and works with you to define realistic goals and keep you on track with your fitness journey. I can’t recommend him highly enough.

I’ve been working with Ray for several months and he is far and away the best trainer I’ve ever worked with. Before coming to him I had a recurrent hip flexor injury that I’d gone to PT over and over for. But he has been not only able to work around it, but to help me strengthen so it doesn’t recur. Workouts are always different and the right level of challenging- I feel like I get pushed to go harder but I never feel like I burn out. I started training with Ray in January 2019. He is an amazing Personal Trainer. He's highly motivating, very knowledgeable, is fully focused on you throughout the entire session, and the workouts are designed to push you mentally and physically.

I started with 2 training sessions per week and gradually increased to 3 PT sessions plus 2 group classes. Being able to do 5 workouts a week took some time but I am so happy I committed to working out with Ray in 2019; I feel so much stronger, healthier, and am much more in tune with my body. I'm looking forward to continuing in 2020!

In addition to 1:1 training designed to meet your personal goals, the classes are small enough that each work out is fun, fast-paced, and designed for you. At Raise, goals aren’t based on the scale or food restrictions; they’re based on physical fitness and overall health and are realistic and manageable for everyday life and everything that comes with it. I’ve been going to Raise for about 6 months now after not being very active or healthy. I’ve noticed a huge difference in my body, as well as in my overall lifestyle. Was in town for the Steelers playoff game but realized last minute that they didnt even make it. Angered and frustrated i looked up gyms in the area where i can get my anger out and sure enough I found Raise Fitness. Great experience and atmosphere. In Pittsburgh for business and needed a step up from the gym that my Marriot Hotel provided. Found that at Raise Fitness and what a step up it was! A personalized gym with a knowledgeable staff and very professional trainers.

I can't say enough great things about this facility. All my needs were met and then exceeded. The facility is VERY clean- which I really appreciated. Suffice to say I am a huge fan and glad I came across it. Truly, a very special place. I will be back next month when I am in town. Thank you, Ray!

There are pivotal moments in life—marriage, children, dream jobs, etc.—and I’d put “training with Ray” up near the top. I feel beyond lucky to have found him. His focus is squarely on his clients and their overall wellbeing—not just their fitness goals, but how those goals fit into their life. He always, always checks in and is there to support, motivate and challenge (and he knows exactly when to do each). He is a teacher in every sense of the word.

I’d been working out for years in a rut, dragging myself to the gym only for some vague end result. Since working with Ray I can’t wait to dive into the workout and tune out everything else. He inspires a level of dedication and focus that I have never experienced before. I feel like an athlete now.

I’ve been training with Raise Fitness for just over two years now, and to say the experience has been life-changing is a vast understatement. Raymond is unlike any trainer I have ever been around. I've worked with people that jump from fad to fad and others still using the same workouts from the 80's but neither hold true with Raymond.

Every session his primary focus is to fix a problem (injury, imbalance, weight loss, gain strength etc.) and he takes a very tailored approach to each workout. Working out isn't the goal, the goal is become healthier and improve quality of life and Raymond exemplifies that.

Working with Ray has been life changing.

I’ve never been a natural athlete and when I first met Ray my goals were literally to do 1 push up and run a mile. I can’t tell you how many diets and exercise regimes I’d signed up for in the past, all of which were short lived and ultimately failed.

The reason Ray’s method works is because it’s so much more than a 50 min workout twice a week. Even before we met in person he spent time to analyze what my days looked like, what I ate and drank, how I felt when I did certain activities and how I spent my ‘free’ time. I thought he was just testing me to see if I would be a good student, but he was actually creating a bespoke program to make sure I would reach my goals. By getting to know me, he could tell where my weak spots would be and what habits he needed to help me start or change.

Our first sessions working out together followed a similar pattern. He really got to know what I was capable of doing and created tailored workouts, guiding me and safely encouraging me to do things I never thought possible.

But the biggest difference he has over other trainers or training programs is how he motivates me when I’m not with him. He develops workouts that I can do with the equipment I have at home, while I’m traveling or when I can’t get to a gym - and he checks in almost daily to make sure I keep on track. Because of his constant motivation, I’ve learnt to truly integrate fitness into my life without it ever feeling it’s unachievable or that I had to be obsessive.

Don’t get me wrong, you DO have to work for it - and it’s especially hard when you’re starting out and you’ve had a big night out or just came off a grueling 14 hour work day. I would text him from work trips complaining about how tired I was and how I didn't think I could work out. But Ray would be right there, giving me practical advice so that I didn't hurt myself while tired and giving me that extra push when I needed it. In the beginning I was honestly doing the workouts just so I didn't feel like I was letting him down. I guess he knew that's what it would take!

So here we are, 5 months later. I’ve never felt fitter, had more energy or been more confident working out. I dropped 2 dress sizes inside 12 weeks and ran my first 5k this fall. Push-ups? Bring them on! Believe me, if you're thinking about doing this - do it. RAISE will be the best investment you'll ever make.
