I absolutely love the Team classes at Retrofitness Easton! Our trainer Ruby Clossey is an amazing trainer with many years experience in boot camp, group instruction and personal training! The classes are challenging and I can definitely see and feel the results.

It's a decent gym! Good points; never overcrowded to the point you can't access equipment, pretty friendly staff (very good with the kids club - those employees are great), management seems to care about providing a good place to exercise. They have a hex bar, which for me was an essential. You can do most things you'd want exercise-wise on the fundamental level, and the price is very reasonable ($20/mo base membership and people don't complain when you lift heavy as long as you're respecting the equipment). Things I'd love to have had; hot tub and/or pool. Simply not there and no real space to add one. Sometimes classes close out parts of the gym (skill training areas mostly) because there's no studios for classes. Again, no real space. Unless you pay for the full plans, no classes, and even then very limited selection of classes. Treadmills are spotty. But for $20/month and good staff, I'm pretty happy.

The BEST gym experience I’ve ever had!!! I met with the Director of Fitness, Zach, who listened to my fitness goals. He introduced me to Cory who is now my One on One personal trainer. Great equipment, locker rooms, and classes. The staff is also very friendly.

The complaint that I have is with management and their inability to process requests in a timely manner.
It took the manager(s) close to 1 month to terminate my gym membership. I informed the regular FTEs of my intent to terminate my account and handed them my termination notice letter. They did all in their power to have the account prepared for termination, the last step was for a manager to sign off on it and complete the termination process. I followed up regularly for updates on the status of my account, each time I received the same answer, "We have informed the manager(s) and wrote it down for them but it looks like they haven't done anything."
I went in person to try and talk to a manager but either they left early or weren't in at that time. I had no luck for weeks and the only thing the regular FTEs could do was leave notes for the manager(s) (which seems like they were ignored). I was still charged for the month, which should not have happened if the request was processed in time (taking into account the 30-day notice when terminating).

Finally, I decided to take my problem up with ABC Financial, which solved it in less than 1 week. In summary, if you need to terminate your membership, go straight to ABC Financial because management can't help you.

I have been going to Retro in Easton for nearly 10 years. During this time, I have had the opportunity to know the floor staff very well, and work with the training staff. Joined beginning of December, told 19.99 would be autodraft every month for 12 months from my bank account. Instead of 19.99 drawn out it was 2 payments of 19.99 taken without authorization less than one week after I joined. Called club several times to get it fixed, completely blown off by all staff. Issue was never taken care of. Finally got manager on phone. Name is Zach...the nastiest rotten roid rage jerk I have ever dealt with in my life...screamed and yelled over the phone, refused to cancel the membership, did not know what was refunded or not, then threatened to call the police if I ever went there again. Had to call ABC financial and corporate to finally end the membership. Beware, this place is run by fools , save yourself the headache.

I've been going to Retro on my own for years, solo, mostly for maintenance. Two months ago I upgraded to there TEAM endurance training and STRONG classes. Not only have I seen, (and felt,) the gains I've had the added bonus of becoming part of a community.

I started this gym to motivate myself and more importantly I joined with a friend who was already a member to get even more motivated. Going from one workout area to the next Zack cane to me immediately throwing prices and pushing to join the gym and becoming a member. I told him I’ll think about it give me some time. Come for a week again he was at the front desk asked would I sign up it’s goubg to be $19.99 the payment will be every month and it will be pulled on the 12th of every month. I said no problem. That’s all that was said. I work at a high demand job so I was working so much OT as well as about to come into a blackout period working 6 days a week. I called retro fitness to put my account on a freeze until Jan 2019. At that time I was told I was put into a contract that would have me locked into a year account. I was never told about this so I said cancel it. Was told I couldn’t. So every day for a month I called for Zack to get him to cancel. Everytime I called it was always a different excuse. Anytime I worked out he was always there. Now all of a sudden oh he’s not here or he’s here idk where he is. I’ve been have almost $40 taken out my account I never signed off on last month November and December on the 2nd of each month. I have never experienced anything like this in my life. Now that he has never called me back. Corporate will be receiving a call about the unprofessionalism I’ve experienced and money taken out my account I never signed off on.

I give Retro 5stars, I’ve been doing the team and strong classes for a few months now and I’ve been seeing great results. The trainers work with you and whenever I’ve had a request they have all worked with me to meet my goals. The owner makes the best smoothies ever !!!! There delicious ! And she is very nice ! I’m so glad I joined this gym . So I’m on month 4 now ! And I gotta say everything my trainer Josh Chrome told me I will accomplish ... I have done ! I have gained 10 lbs muscle and the deadlifting classes are AMAZING!!! This gym is A GYM it’s not about glitz and glamour !!! It’s straight up reaching your goals! Zack set me up with a program and they accommodate you if you can’t make certain times for classes! Friendly staff, nice clean place, and cool cardio movie room but... I had to leave because my work schedule no longer allowed me the time to work out. Haven't use the facility for over 6 months but still paid full year membership. I followed their cancelation protocol and they are still charging me. I called ABC Financial and they directed me to speak with the gym. I've called the gym and left numerous messages for Hollie the owner and no one calls me back. Very disappointing!

Holly is the irresponsible manager there That could care less about her members. I had 2 separate situations involving my account. I spoke to the staff and they told me that they would leave a note for her to call me back and fix the situation they even called her and she promised both times to call me back which she never did. She'll smile in your face and acts like she cares about you but it's really all fake. They always claim that ABC financial is problem, but Retro fitness is also part of the problem by never helping any member out as usual. I'm thinking about trying out Planet fitness or LA fitness that doesn't try to scam you out of your money. Oh by the way everybody when your payment day comes every month to pay $20 and you don't have it that second when they take it out then ABC financial (there billing company) adds an extra $20 plus retro adds extra $10 to that so you're paying $50 for a $20 payment. I don't advise my worse enemy to go to this gym.

It was a nice place to go to. I been a member for like 3 years and my fiancé for 8. Usually the staff was mad friendly. But they did a sudden change in staff and no lie it’s been horrible. The night staff are so bad. The girls in the front omg! They give me such a nasty attitude. It’s like “what did I do kill your pet or something?” They were just so mean. I followed the protocol for cancellation and now I am stuck paying a late fee because the manager didn’t even bother to cancel it or call me. I had to go another time just so that I can cancel it to now be told it’s still not cancel. And that is with a cancellation letter. The owner never even contacted me. Now I got close to a hundred dollars in late fees because they didn’t inform me, or do their job.

By far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The staff is rude and the manager is never available to speak to. Trying to cancel my membership has costed me $140 so far and they’re still charging. They never explain a 30 day cancellation period to you and after you write the a letter of cancelation, they don’t mail it to the financial company so that your “30 day period” can start. I will be charged for yet another month because everyone who works there is a money hungry, incompetent, careless ass.

I do NOT recommend this gym. I will be going back to LA Fitness where they actually care about their customers.

Everything in the gym is broken. Water fountains & specific equipment has been broken for weeks now. Why have a suggestion box if you read the suggestions and don't act on them? Great staff, a little awkward equipment arrangement, & uncomfortable and potentially dangerous group exercise room.

Staff has always been nice, friendly, and helpful - and that gets most of my positive ratings.

Exercise machines are little too close, and could use better organization (there is not enough space to organize it better though).
Quite often, Bumper Plate/Kettlebell area is closed off for group exercises. It's hard to gauge when it may be available even with the posted schedule (same group exercise may/may not use the area)

The group exercise room is small and equipment stored in the room makes it less useful for classes. A/C doesn't keep it cool when it's hot, and condensation makes the floor dangerously slippery when it's cold.

At the lower price point and good people, I still recommend the place. Make sure to consider the above issues before you sign the agreement though.

Love the gym and the original crew. They need to work on some of the new staff. Not all, but some. Members are loud and sometimes very obnoxious. My headphones on full blast volume does not even keep me from hearing them. Same with the classes. Music is obnoxiously Loud!! And they go in and out during class, sometimes even holding the door open.Most people just have lack of consideration for other members. It make it annoying and distracting when all you want to do is work out.

I've been going here 3 times weekly for 3 months now and really like this gym. I like the layout and equipment better than the one in Bethlehem even though that one is only 5 minutes from my house. Also enjoy the movie theatre although I never get to watch an entire movie. Initially I signed up with a trainer and was so glad I did. The trainer was always prompt, very encouraging and very helpful. Staff has always been friendly and the gym is clean. I signed a contract for $19.99 a month for one year. Bottom line is if you can't commit to using the gym for a year then don't sign a yearly contract.

This gym is great! They have all the equipment needed to loose weight and tone up. The price is great.. The staff is just okay. The people that go here are always so willing to teach you how to use something new. The bathrooms are clean. Overall is great
the only issue I encounter was when we switch from a non-chip card to a chip card. We gave the new info ahead of time so it could be switch and mine was taken out just fine but my husband wasnt. When we went we had to pay and extra fee for being late (which we werent since that info was giving ahead of time, not our fault the staff didnt put it thru) and some bank late fee. If it wasnt because this is the closest gym that has good perks we would have walked out. They didnt offer to waive it even though we are always on time so that made me angry a bit.. payed over $40 in extra fees

The equipment is good, the place is alright, the price is decent, but the hours are where I have my issue. They're a little backwards, all week they open at 5 am, then close at like 10 pm, but on Fridays they close early and the weekends they don't open till 7 am. Why not open at 5 am on the weekend too?

Terrible customer service. Manager is never at there when you call. Staff I very unorganized. I had to call at least 5 tie and visit there twice before I received a call back from the manager. When every single time I went in I was told I would receive a call the next day. The gym has good machines, not the best but better than average. I really have to call bullcrap on the two negative reviews for this place. For one, outside of an occasional errant water bottle, this is one of the cleanest gyms I have ever used. To say that it smells bad is just ridiculous. As far as the collection agency is concerned, if you sign a contract for 12 months you owe for 12 months. That is part of the reason they have such low monthly fees, with no upfront costs I might add. Halfway thru my first year contract I was deployed to Afghanistan. They had no problem freezing my membership and allowing me to restart upon completion of my tour. Bottom line is this is a GREAT gym with a friendly helpful staff, ample parking, and great after workout drink offerings. I would recommend this place without reservation.
