Childcare is amazing. Only place I have felt comfortable leaving my kids in a gym. They interact with my kids and make them feel comfortable which is so important. The staff is amazing and super friendly in all aspects.

The location and staff is good but the membership and ABC financial system is so unfair. I moved from that area in May 2019 and went to cancel my membership on Dec 7, 2019. I was being charged the whole time but it was my fault. I just been charged for annual fee of $39 on Feb 18. 2020!!! According to them i canceled my membership on Jan 14. 2020 and it takes 30 days to get into effect and got hooked to annual fee. Very unfair Retro, Very.

Their kid club is the best I've seen, fantastic down to earth staff. Very clean, Very convenient. Their equipment is always repaired quickly and maintained regularly. The owner is very involved and from him and the staff you couldn't ask for better service I spite of how disadvantaged the location is. This location deserves waay more recognition from corporate then it gets.

It’s the worst gym and customer service !

The branch near my house was closed and I wanted to cancel my membership. But the employee did not help me and told me to come back later and they keep charging me monthly. When I returned after the end of my annual membership to ask them why they keep taking money from my account they told me that they have renewed the membership automatically, which I do not know anything about this item! They didn't tell me that when I signed up and they didn't take my permission. Such as also the continuity of membership even if the branch near me was closed! They didn't tell me all that! I told her I wanted at least the money they took after the automatic renewal but she didn't help me. And I want to return the money they took after the renewal knowing that I have not been to this gym at all for many months!

The staff treat my daughter as if she were their own, not to mention have the best child sitting hours of any retro I've been to. There's plenty of space to work out so you don't feel cramped and there are plenty of weights so I don't have to look for or wait for things. Everyone (other members) does their thing and works out, staff makes great shakes, are friendly, and my daughter likes the kids club. Wish all the retros were like this one.

Today was my first time trying out the gym..I fit right in. This gym is for people who are serious about working out. Inside is very clean and the bathroom was clean as well.
They have a wide variety of exercise machines. Their biggest dumbbell is 120 at least that's what I saw. They also give you a 5 days free pass , kinda cool in my opinion.
The staff was Friendly and addressed all my concerns. If you're thinking about joining, you have nothing to lose.

Super friendly people! The gym is it's own community with an amazing atmosphere! I definitely do not feel uncomfortable working out in the free weight area. And the gym is always cleaned!!! Only issue I have is with the dirty people coming in and out of the CSL Plasma.

I love this gym. I think I’ve been a member since September 2017. It’s clean, close to (my) home, they offer a variety of free classes and classes that cost only $1 for members on various days and times. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The owner makes it a point to say hi and pass a few words with me (and I’ve seen this with other members too). You can tell he takes pride in his gym and is easy going with his customers. The (woman’s) locker room is a nice size with plenty of locker space. Bathrooms are always clean. The equipment is maintained, and on rare occasions something may not work, but it’s addressed right away and fixed. Normal wear and tear stuff.

It’s nice to have fitness goals and be comfortable enough to go to a gym, do your workouts, see so many familiar faces, and always have parking. There is a nice mix of men and woman who are just starting their fitness journey and others who clearly have been working out for years and it shows. So it truly feels like a judgement free zone.

If you’re looking for a friendly gym who’s reasonably priced then this is the place to check out. Remember you only get out of it what you put into it.

Had a complaint with management. Asked for corporate information. They refused to give it to me. Was told to Google it. Looked them up on Better Business Bureau website and Retro Fitness is not even accredited with the BBB. They have an "F" rating. They are arrogant and discriminate against other businesses in the area in particular CSL PLASMA which does life saving work. They have a bias against what they ignorantly perceived to be the character of people who patronize the plasma Bank as a result they complain to Rental Management which owns the property and causes problems for those who are trying to make a life-saving contribution. How can one support and patronize a business who only cares about their own self interests and blantently discriminates against what they perceive to be lesser class people ?

Hey guys i would like to share this disrespectful experience with you guys. well first and foremost I was at a beast and beer a fundraiser for people with cancer and this Retro Fitness in Franklin Mills donated a package from Retro Fitness to the cancer fundraiser. Now I won the donated package from Retro Fitness in a raffle at the beef and beer, so i go to retro fitness and state i won the free months passes / package at the cancer fundraiser so the superviser saids i have to pay a whole year first before i can be allowed the free months won from the raffle ....so now its false advertisment and trying to stiff someone for money when it clearly saids on each card free inrollment serveral months free ..so the owner and supervisor where very unprofessional ,disrespectful ,sneaky Etc. Therefore I would just like everyone to know that the owner as well as the supervisor I'm not sure about the staff in that particular place at Franklin Mills does not have anyone's best interest at heart not a good place at all ...#puttingyourstuffatfundraiserstostiffpeopleformoney

I agree with Angelo. I have only been a member for maybe three weeks, but I am generally there five days a week. The place is always clean and the staff in pleasant. My favorite part about the place is that even during peak volume times, there is still plenty of equipment available. I would have given 5 of 5 stars, but the 1 issue I do have is their hours. They close at 10pm during the week and 5pm on weekends. Would like to see them open later on the weekends at the very least.

I have been a member of Retro Fitness since January 2014. I am almost always at the Franklin Mills one. After reading some of the negative reviews below, I feel as though I need to set the record straight. First off, I don't know what that guy is talking about when he said you can't scan in when you get there. As soon as you walk in there, the person at the front counter scans you in. This has been the policy the entire time I have been there. Second, everything is not dirt stained. The place is clean. There are a couple pieces of equipment that are worn but that just comes with every day use. Nothing is going to stay new forever. The people there are friendly. There is plenty of room to work out. It is not overly crowded. The smoothies there are good too. Sometimes, I like to treat myself to a smoothie after a workout. The movie room is cool. Time does go by faster on the treadmill if you are watching a movie you enjoy. $19.99 is a very reasonable price for a membership. I use to be a member of Bally Total Fitness before I joined Retro. I was tired of paying so much for a membership and getting nothing in return. I hope I helped some of you make a decision. I also wanted to defend a place that I enjoy.

Never been to such a depressing looking gym like this one. Was also super dirt. Everything was dirt stained, and the place did not look well kept up. They don't let you sign in with a scanner and the manager has to sign you in. Why? . I rather drive to the outa couple extra miles to the one in Southampton then this one .

I frequent Retro due to location, price and the manager is nice. It's not a crowded gym, like Bally's. Even after New Years, the gym still has room to work out. It's basic, no hot tub spa, or dry sauna but it gets the job done.

I love this gym, always have. Contrary to the couple of reviews below me, I've had the opposite experience. Frank has always been willing to help me out, knows my name, and shows that he is dedicated to his members and his business. I left for a little while and recently came back because of how much i missed it. Love it, love the owner, love the gym!

Will not go back. Tired of hearing foul language when working out. Talked to owner and his staff did not tell him the truth. I asked to end my contract, which only has 4 months left and was told that will not happen. It is a shame because very close to work and home.

Horrible customer service. I wanted to sign up in February 2015 but only needed a month membership because I was moving. They do not do 1 month memberships but the woman who sold me the membership told me that I could sign up and cancel the same day because canceling takes 30 days. I agreed and paid $50 because this included the set up fees. I'm not sure if she forgot to cancel or lied to me but it is now August and I received calls from their billing company saying that I owe them another $80 and charges will be pressed against me if I do not pay. Beware of this gym, they will lock you in and lie to you in order to get more money. I filed a complaint with better business bureau but since they are not accredited and don't need to respond they have failed to respond to the BBB's 3 attempts at contacting them. BBB has advised me to get a lawyer. I paid the $80 to avoid them attempting to press charges but I will never sign up with any retro fitness again.

Some equipment is a bit worn out but plenty of stuff to use and usually no lines for anything. Safe locker rooms too. Staff seems friendly enough, I like this gym just fine. If some of the machines for fixed it would get a 5 but never any problems for me at this gym.
