Such a great experience! I left my class feeling a little sore but proud that I got in a good workout. Sam clearly demonstrated how to use the machine and was helpful in ensuring I was doing the exercises correctly. He was very friendly and incredibly motivating and engaging during the class. I had my first ever row class here, and I loved every minute of the experience. Sam took the time before class to teach me about the machine and show me the proper form, before answering all of my questions. The class itself was the perfect mix of cardio and strength training. Sam was clear with his instructions during class and eased us into the intensity that goes along with this workout. Plus he had a great playlist. Highly recommend Row House Fitness!

I loved taking the intro to rowing class with Brandon—it was informative, accessible, and as someone who had no idea how to use a rowing machine, it was the perfect class to take to learn the structure of a full class and to learn where to start. Love this Row House! Those mornings where it's tempting to just stay in bed, the motivation to get moving comes from knowing a great workout experience awaits. Never did I anticipate loving rowing as I do. The overall workout is efficient, effective and so gratifying. But what keeps me motivated is the coaching staff! While each coach has their unique style, the common thread of expertise in form and function comes from the top. Michelle P is an exceptional coach herself, and hires to that expectation level! Both Wendy and Michelle are particularly gifted in knowing how to push you to just the right level. I've accomplished goals I never really considered within my reach because of them! Row House was insane! My brother and I were going head-to-head the whole class, and Coach Michelle was NOT letting me slack. She kept pushing me to drop my split and even handed me heavier weights during the weight part. The workout was tough, but I felt so good afterward, like I actually crushed it. This studio is incredibly welcoming, and Coach Michelle is one of the most motivating coaches I’ve ever met. I came in excited and left feeling empowered. The Signature class was tough but approachable, blending aerobic and anaerobic cardio with endurance strength work. OMG, Row House is AMAZING! The energy in there is unreal — the music was pumping and everyone in class was just giving it their all. I i’ve been a member of Row House North Hills since 2019. It’s a great studio. The coaches are some of the best in the country. Master coach, Michele Parolini is second to none. (We are lucky to have her at this location as she trains coaches across the USA) The entire coaching staff is first class!

Love the classes at RowHouse North Hills!! Michelle is one of the fabulous motivating coaches on the team. Her rowing and exercises (with and without weights) between rowing sets are well planned out and easy to follow. Michelle executes the timing and delivery of her instructions very clearly and evenly. Michelle Parolini’s classes are extremely motivating. She has a special talent in pushing you to work harder than you thought possible. I truly enjoy her Strength and Restore classes which is a perfect mix on Sunday mornings. I also love Melanie’s Strength class which is incredibly rewarding. Joy is a sweet bundle of energy in her Signature class. Colleen’s full row class is another gem which really tests your endurance. To wind down the work week, I enjoy Wendy's Restore class which gives you a chance to stretch, recover, and feel refreshed while still being challenged at the same time.
Each class offers something special, and no matter your fitness level, you'll leave feeling stronger and more motivated. I highly recommend Row House North Hills to anyone looking for a fun, effective, and challenging workout!

I've been to row house north hills 3 times now. 2 signature classes, one with Michelle, one with Joy, and a no coach session. Both coaches were friendly, helped a newbie get setup and feel welcome. A very positive environment. Annette out front is great, she took the time to call me before my first class and let me know what to expect and go over my fitness goals. If you are at all interested in a fantastic way to improve your health, I cannot recommend this place enough.

DO NOT SIGN UP HERE!
My girlfriend signed up here and went a few times and then decided to cancel because of how expensive it was. This was back in May 2024.
Apparently you need to fill out a form regarding the cancellation, which was never sent to us, so we got charged for June. Called, figured out what happened, filled out the form and emailed it back, no big deal.
July rolls around, charged again. So we call, they say the same exact thing, they say they are sorry but there is nothing they can do at that point, but it won't happen again. Ok, another $130, but whatever, it's over and done with right? WRONG!
August comes...charged again. Now we are pissed, we call again, complain enough about the ridiculousness of the situation, and to our surprise, they refund us August and July! Ok, now all is forgiven, we really appreciated them going above and beyond to insure we were satisfied with the result. Thank you for clearing everything up for us!
September is here now...AND WE ARE CHARGED AGAIN! Who is working over there in billing, and can't get it through their thick skull that we ARE NO LONGER MEMBERS! For the love of God people....just do your damn job and remove her membership! So now we are going into the building to make sure this does not happen again.

Row House at the block has lovely and inspiring instructors. Even with a primary early bird schedule—I’ve had classes with majority of the instructors and class formats! Just a few examples of how much they care about you as an individual…I was sent a birthday card to my address as well as a client was getting married this weekend and the instructor themed the entire class around celebrating her and it was so fun! The instructor, Melanie, also brought in cookies-like a true Pittsburgh wedding send off! It was an awesome class for 5:30am!

I can't say enough good things about the coaches and workouts at Row House. The coaches are committed to teaching proper rowing technique to ensure you get the most out of every class. The different class types offer a terrific mix of endurance, strength, mobility and HIIT style workouts, and every one is worth taking. The coaches offer such great encouragement and motivation, and you feel like you're growing stronger, more powerful and confident in every class. It does take a few classes to get the hang of it, but it's so worth it!

This is a fun place to learn how to row! I joined for the cardio benefits, motivation, and to help build shoulder strength after doing physical therapy for impingement. As a personal trainer who usually designs my own workouts, I felt relieved to have the class structure and energy!
As a runner and cyclist, it took me some time to adapt to the technique and pace of the class. They will tell you it doesn't matter what class you take when you're new, because rowing is all "effort based," though as a beginner I felt most comfortable in the Signature Row and Restore classes. The Interval and Express Strength classes are high intensity with very little rest time or stretching built in.
Some instructors will encourage modifications (wall sits instead of squats, light or no weights, etc.), and they are good with answering questions especially if you come early before class! Everything runs on time.
My main concern is that it can feel a little confusing to be new, even for someone who has professional experience with exercise. You might feel pressure to keep up with the class even if your body is telling you something else. I wish they offered a little more guidance around how to progress safely, especially when members have a history of injury.
Overall this is a positive environment with a great variety of classes, music and exercises for all ages. You will get stronger, meet new people, and feel welcome in the community!

The staff were motivating and personable. This was my first time rowing for excercise. As a moderately active individual after completing the session i felt like i experienced a total body workout. Coach Colieen was engaging, kind, and very knowledgeable. She kept the workout going by providing variety through circuit intervals movements off the row machine, in addition to rowing at various intensities. The music was great as well. The solidarity of the class made me feel like I was apart of a team. This motivated me to push pass the aches of age and keep going. As an experienced citizen I thoroughly enjoyed the row session. I cannot say enough good things about this gym, the coaches, and the patrons! I went from a 55 year old couch potato to a half marathoner and a million meters achiever in under a year. I couldn’t believe how firm my arms, legs, and core were becoming.
I love the structure of the classes; I don’t have to decide what to do or for how long, it’s already been decided for me. In addition to rowing in your 45 minute class, you will also do pilates, weights, core workouts, and more, giving you a full body workout!
The coaches are all incredible, encouraging, and motivating! Each one is unique, but I was touched by Colleen remembering that I have episodes of vertigo and reminding me during our workouts that I may want to modify certain exercises because of this, and Michelle has the ability to motivate me in a way that pushes me past what I think I’m capable of. You can’t go wrong with any class at the Row House! 5/5 stars!

I can't say enough good things about Row House North Hills! The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable in their profession. The team works together and the feeling of camaraderie between both members and coaches is something that you don't find in many exercise Studios. These people are the real deal! I especially love the fact that we are able to row outside right now. This is something new that we have started doing and I have to say that rowing outside is an incredible experience. It brings a whole new level to idea of Mind Body and Soul. If If you're looking for a place to work out, look no further than Row House North Hills. Honestly, the coaches and the team there are not just interested in your physical health, they're interested in your emotional health as well. So thankful that I found Row House North Hills!

A great exercise experience for all - Especially those of us who are looking for a different kind of class to break our routines. I’ve been exercising primarily at home since COVID, but Row House gives me a handful of reasons to make the trip out. The community vibes are unlike many standard gyms I’ve been to and the staff is so attentive to your needs and questions. The work out itself is a great addition no matter what your primary exercise routine is like. It really does feel like an elite setting in the best way - Money WELL spent! I can’t say enough about Row House! I had to give up running due to a back injury about 10 years ago, and this is the first workout that brings on the endorphins like running did for me. My husband and I took advantage of a free class at the Row House, and it was pretty darn good! Colleen is an amazing teacher, and we took a Gull Row which left us to feel stronger and realize that we needed to get into a certain rhythm with rowing that made it fun! The Row House is a workout like no other. 45 minute, low impact, full body workout! I have never been in better physical condition. Having had prior back surgeries has not been an issue and the back pain I had since age 15 is gone. There are many other health benefits in which I could go on and on about. But moving on...The coaching staff is top notch. They help you with any modifications you may need. They are very motivating and the members become fast friends. So welcoming! I’ve been a member since May of 2019 and have enjoyed every minute and every meter with this crew. If you have not been to Row House yet, give it a try. You will not be disappointed.

And then there are the “little things” that culminate into an overall outstanding experience: friendly staff, knowledgeable & fun trainers, mini one-off sessions (if you like) to improve & maximize your form, fantastic/supportive members, sharp looking studio (and always clean as heck)..…I could go on. Give it a shot! If you’re thinking about giving the Row House a try, just do it! Your first class is free and after that you’ll probably be hooked like I was. The coaches are absolutely amazing and they truly want you to push and better yourself.The workouts are a challenge every time but you leave feeling accomplished and proud of yourself! Also their app, which you use to book appointments and view your performance stats, is so handy and user friendly.
The Row House changed my opinion about group fitness. I never thought I’d be a fan of workout glasses but rowing is the best of both worlds when it comes to improving yourself individually while also holding yourself accountable for the rest of your crew mates.

My husband and I had joined Row House in January 2019. It has been such a great experience for us, not only with the workout, but the community of people that it’s built. When Covid hit, like all gyms, the studio had to close it’s doors. I’m so grateful that they are back, and opening in a safe manner. I want to thank the Block at Northway, for working with The Row House, to get creative on things. Rowing is hard, rowing with a mask is harder.....thankfully we have some weekend OUTDOOR class options! Now we can actually show “passers by” what this workout is about and draw them in. Row House is amazing! If you're looking for a great workout, combining cardio and strength, come try a class! It's a very welcoming environment to work out in, even if you haven't rowed or worked out before.
They've done absolutely everything they can to keep everyone safe during COVID, which I really appreciate. They've cut capacity, they're cleaning like crazy between every class, and they're starting outdoor classes now too which are so fun! Some of these changes are of course state-mandated, but they've gone above and beyond on every single requirement.
Also, the coaches are the best! They will get to know you, and push you through every workout. If you have any concerns about doing something in the work out, just let the coach know. I'm working through an injury right now (which for reference, did NOT happen at RH) and all the coaches have been great about helping me figure out modifications. They really want everyone to succeed and will do whatever they can to help.
Row House combines a great workout with a welcoming community. I love it!

I enjoyed the classes, however, decided to cancel due to having young children and limited child care. I was told I had to make a special trip into the studio to sign a cancellation form, which was a major inconvenience since I had to make a special trip on the one day my husband was off work. Upon signing the Cancellation form I was informed that my card would be charged for an additional month, due to their “one month notification cancellation policy.” Though I wasn’t pleased, I signed the form and left. Subsequently, I noticed on my credit card statement that I was charged an additional 2 months! I called to complain and was told my credit card was STILL set up to be charged the following months. I understand that mistakes can be made, but after the rigmarole of having to make an appearance to fill out paperwork in order for my card to not be charge, the LEAST that could have been done was to follow through on their end and not charge my credit card!

I want to give 5 stars but there are a few things that bug me. I’ll start with the positive - rowing is an incredible workout and the machines seem top notch. I’d give it 5 classes to really get the hang of it if you’re new. The weight lifting and body weight workout intervals are excellent. The music is nice. Cons - classes seem to run late when they schedule them back to back because they only allow 15 minutes in between. They make you wipe down the machines and mats afterwords which is kind of annoying and brings up trust issues. Also, there is a beta fish in the lobby (as of last class I attended) whose tank seems too small based on what I’ve read about these fish, and it makes me feel kind of sad.
