I golfed this course on Friday October 3, 2025 and it is in great shape. First time playing this course and it was very challenging, especially the back nine. You will not be dissappointed if you play here.

The charge fee is ridiculous how come online it says 39.99. But as soon as I go into the shop they wanted 49.99. Im sorry but thats horrible. Overall the course isnt that impressive to be charged that much in the first place. Never booking at Royal Oaks ever.. Sorry not Sorry...

Was in the area. Had the opportunity to play this course, it was nice for the cost of green fees. Definitely not going to complain. I would've given 5 stars but the 5 min increments between tee times is ridiculous. We literally waited on every tee box. About a 4.5 hr round.

Nice course layout and the greens and fairways are well taken care of. A bit on the pricey side compared to some other courses around, but it is a great course.

Used to be one of my favorite courses. Lately prices are ridiculous. $30+ for a 6 pack, $30 for 9 holes after 4, when a full 18 is $39. Place is becoming a joke

First time playing this trax... It's tough to give a fair evaluation just coming out of winter...
Nice lay out a couple of greens are in need of repair. Friendly staff. Will play another round in spring to see how the fairways greens are groomed

The course is in great shape. Greens are wicked fast but if u love them fast you'll be happy. Keep the ball in the short grass. If u hit into the rough u might not find it amidst the leaves and 4 inch grass

Zero professionalism. Let a kids camp go out ahead of our tee time causing 25 minute backup. Iβm all for kids learning the game, but you have to have the courtesy to let the groups behind them know that when booking the tee time or at least when paying. Must be hurting for money on their bush league course if they canβt communicate that they are going to ruin your round before teeing off.
Update: An employee came out and spoke with us, it was an unfortunate situation where the group took longer than expected. They offered to make it right which they did, and really didnβt have to given the nature of what happened. Iβd make the hour drive here again to play. Well kept course with a fun layout.

Good course. Some challenging holes. Ron Forse-Design, 18-hole par 71; 6153 yards from the blues with a course rating of 69.1 and a slope of 115. Overall, a fun course that is good for all skill levels.

One of the nicest public courses I have played in Central PA. This is as good as it gets around here. Very nice soft fairway grass. Spacious layout with little risk of being hit by others stray balls.

Course is on par with most in the area. Greens were in good shape and there are several holes that require you to strategize rather than just whacking driver. We all liked the character of the course. However, price-wise, $37 to walk as a senior in the middle of the week is quite a bit higher than pretty much every other course I've played within an hour drive of my home in Mechanicsburg. Since the riding rate is the same, that's probably more reasonable comparatively, but I don't know that I've played any other course in-season where the walking and riding rates are the same. Curiously, if you book online, the rate they show is $35, but I'm not keen on booking online where I have to input a credit card and the course requires that you pay for no-shows. The website also does not show rates other than when you go to book a tee time. So overall, we'd play the course again, but it would be quite sparingly given the cost to walk (and I always walk unless it isn't allowed).

I liked the layout. Most holes had doglegs, streams, or lakes as obstacles especially in the back 9. But many of the traps either had very hard sand or growth. Liked the course but here are a few suggestions. 1) which building is the clubhouse? Just put a sign up especially for new players. Had no idea where to go. 2) take care of the hornet infestation destroying your green (forget which but I think it was a par 3 on the back) 3) put some damn ball washers out there!!! Seriously, so easy to do. Even every other hole. But overall this course has so much potential... Focus on some low hanging fruit wins.

The club isn't bad overall, but there are some obvious obstacles...some literally.
The environment is good. With the range, updated carts and an affordable price, I was happy.
The cart paths in some areas are just bad. You're almost better off not using them.
They've also pulled out many of their bunkers. I'd caution calling them and traps as the ones that are left have large rocks in many... but they're still to be played as sand traps. This leaves some approaches very rough as grass is growing in to the old traps and the current ones generally aren't playable if you value your clubs.
This said, the greens and aprons really were in great condition and played very well.
For a casual, affordable day out, it's nice.

I've played 9 here before with a 9 hole fee. Course was empty today on a Saturday late afternoon. Online fee was $30.00 for 18, in the clubhouse the fee was $35.00 for 18. I booked two of us for 9 over the phone. Still wanted to charge me the full $35 for 9. I said I am not paying full price for only wanting to play 9. Everywhere else nearby charges the obvious half-fee for only playing half the course. Fortunately with it being empty we paid and played 18. This place needs to be more like Pine Meadows or Lebanon Valley. Course is in the worst shape out of Pine Meadows, Fairview, and Lebanon Valley and yet is the most expensive.

First time I've had a course in this area charge me for a player that didn't show, I mean sure in Hilton Head I get it. Not south central PA. Don't play here if there's any chance one of your players won't show up.

They are getting there. Place had been going backwards for a number of years. I hadn't played there in 2 years. Looks like a lot of work is going on. Bunkers are still terrible. Fairways and greens were far better than they have been. Still a lot of room for improvement if they keep at it.

Course in good shape for the end of March but they jacked the price from 25 last year to 30 and for a pack of crackers 2.00 that you can get at sams for 15 cents I know you have to make money on things but 6 at sams for 40 pack at this place would cost 80.00

Course was in good shape. Greens were reasonably fast. Club house is still closed. Only thing that disappointed me was the removal of the big sand trap on no. 9. I know it didn't come into play much but it just set the hole off. Now it just looks blah.

Course is in great shape other than the traps. They donβt have any ball cleaners. The only place you could clean your golf balls at were in the pond sand traps. Almost every trap were full of water or were full of leaves. No playable traps. If u like a challenge you can call the traps pond and take penalties out of them. They donβt blow leaves what so ever in the rough. For the course only being around 25 years old you would think the traps would have great drainage. Other than that love the layout of the course.

What used to be a quality course has gone downhill significantly. No water on the course is just unacceptable. This includes ball washers. The tee boxes are horrible, and the greens are just as bad. I believe every green had disease spots on them, and every putt bounced the entire way to the hole. A real shame, as this used to be a go-to course for us. Unfortunately, this will be the last time here.

This course is a dumpster fire. The tee boxes were shaggy and full of dead patches. The fairways were worse, huge patches of dead grass, mud, sand and ground under repair. The greens were absolutely unplayable and the staff were rude. I don't know what planet these people are on charging what they are for a round, let alone $2500 for a yearly membership. I would pay money to not have to play this course again. Absolutely terrible.

I always thought this was a great course, not so much any more.
No ball cleaners, no water, greens in terrible shape as well as the tee boxes.
It was always nice to play there, not worth the money now.
Needs to get back into good form.

Fun track, not too difficult to play, good pace of play. I liked the lower elevation which isnβt always the case in this part of the state.
Update as of 8/1/2019.... Back 9 greens are in HORRIBLE condition, I would not pay full price for a round here in current conditions..... Pro shop made it sound like they were punched greens, they looked like they were punched with Thorβs hammer and then a bear clawed at them..... also they charged $2.90 for an unsweetened ice tea..... SAD!

Highly recommend for wedding venue location. Maria B was very professional and very prompt in returning phone calls and emails. Made communicating throughout the entire wedding planning process a breeze.. Beautiful location, wonderful tasting food at our reception. Received many compliments from friends and family. In my opinion, one of the very best places to hold your reception in Lebanon County. Please be sure to check them out if you are getting married in the future!!

Course is in excellent shape - very lush and manicured (Sep 2013). Greens rolled as true as can be! Sand traps were well maintained and driving range was in great shape. Very walkable course. Excellent layout and mixture of long and short holes. Service was great in the pro shop and concession stand. Only criticism is that there wasn't a beverage cart out on the course on a hot Saturday morning/afternoon, but that's about it. Highly recommend and great value for the price.

I just played a round at Royal Oaks on Friday, May 17. It was an altogether wonderful experience. The course was in great shape. The greens rolled true and were in wonderful condition. We played the entire round as a threesome in 3 hours and 20 minutes. You could not ask for a better experience.
