If youβd like to come to a place where you will be micro managed and harassed by the staff at every turn then boy oh boy this is the place for you. They will do everything they can to make sure that you have plenty of opportunities to loose your membership in the following but not limited ways like: placing rules on you that others donβt follow, making up policies on the fly without warning and posting it on the website for you to find yourself, snooping through your personal belongings (if you put a lock on your bag they will assume you have something their policy doesnβt allow), making sure that you get multiple talking toβs about when you fail to adhere to any little thing you do, and much much more. Have children well you can also expect the following. If your children show emotion that isnβt happy you will be blamed and judged, if your kids get scraped and bruisesβ¦expect child services to be at your door after they ask your very young toddlers leading questions and embellish the answers. Got any concerns of your own that needs raised, go ahead and bring it up with the staff, so they can turn it around and blame you, your parenting, or your children. Have very young children that need to be watched like a baby. Well if your baby cries then get ready to end your workout cause they are unable to handle a crying baby for the limited 1.5 hours they will watch them. So if all these things sound like your cup of tea then this will be your heaven. Come use their dirty showers, their equipment that you hope a member wiped down after they were done, their limited weight room, their dirty pools and hot tub, and bask in the judgement of the old ladies that watch your every move and go through your stuff and lie about why they are doing it.

Been coming here for a couple years. Great location & family oriented placeβ¦ Great equipment, classes, staff and instructors! My kids absolutely love the warm pool! My husband and I totally enjoy being able come out & drop the kids off at Kid Zone - knowing they are in good hands - and just go hang out together, having fun and working out! π€©

I would stay far away from this place if you could. The lady at the front desk treated me and my pal with straight disrespect. She was completely unprofessional and just simply rude. Disappointing for a grown lady to treat a couple of respectful teenagers with nothing but inhumane hatred. She ruined my day with her disgusting behavior. Absolutely will not be going back to this place until there is some major changesππ½

Gym is full of old men that stare and smile at females and the child watch service neglects the toddlers and lets them cry and donβt call the parents to come get them.

Well so far I can't get into anything or come anytime I want because you have to register for EVERYTHING and if you decide you have some free time to do something, you can't cause it full. My whole purpose was to come in the morning with my toddler to do stuff but I haven't been able to get into anything.

Local gem for Sewickley valley. Swim lessons for kids and adult exercise classes have been our favorite so far.

After being a member for 18+ years, they terminated my membership after i entered the weight room with flip flops on, with a change of sneakers in my bag. Not only is this a subpar facility for any level of gym enthusiast, but employees have a general lack of respect for any and all members.

This is an awesome Y. The facilities are constantly evolving to suit the community it supports. The people are honest and genuinely good people.

Gym has a really nice indoor track and machines, but the weight room is so small you need to wait in line to do anything. Often long waits for floor excercise space as well. I never swim as it always seems to be in use. Hygene is also a concern as they allow people to wear their street shoes into the hot tubs and sauna. as in submerging their shoes. Complaints about this are completely ignored, as they seem to think people are supposed to wear streetwear in these areas

Very clean and well organized. I've been going here with my family for nearly 10 years, we all love their facilities, from the weight and cardio room, to the swing pool...I feel like I've in the pool because my kid loves the swim team so much.
The biggest kudos I have to give is how well this YMCA handled covid with their safety approach (plexiglass in each cardio equipment, temp scans, and individual towels and disinfectant bottles were always in abundance and fresh towels always provided)...they went above and beyond to assure safety and keep open for us to go workout.

Only YMCA in Pittsburgh not taking members from other YMCA. Drove over 30 minutes because they did not indicate this on their Google page. Membership would not let us come in even though we are healthy and at a healthy temperature. Very unprofessional and poor communication.

Great family friendly venue that is deeply tied in to the community. The YMCA offers a wide variety of classes and equipment including basketball courts, multiple pools, a sauna and steam room. Membership fees are reasonable considering just how much you get from it. The staff is friendly and helpful, and everyone seems to enjoy being there.

Since summer camp started I've only been able to use the large pool once at a normal time because they pack about 200 kids in the pool at once. Other than it the facility's ok.

Really nice place for the whole family. They offer all types of programs such as swimming classes and sports. They have a daycare type thing for the kids during weekdays that makes it a lot easier to utilize the other parts of the gym. Kids so far love the basketball courts and swimming pool. We go atleast a few times a week and have always had a really great time. Oh yeah they also do birthday parties with reservations and can reserve the pool for a whole hour. Update. Have to knock it down to four stars because I've gotten 5 emails from my health care provider upmc through my employer and it directed me to the YMCA because of a decent monthy membership fee discount but they don't seem to work with the insurance company even though I have emails stating I should receive a discount. Non the less it seems worth having a area the whole family can enjoy. There is worse ways to spend 77 dollars a month.hi

Superb location with lots of activities indoor and outdoor. Staff has always been good. The equipment and facility is definitely dated particularly compared to the newer area Ys. Always a cool, diverse crowd of folks here from old to young, different socioeconomic backgrounds and ethnicities. This is no small task given the area so good to see.

A Mickey Mouse show. Day camp staff look miserable, lack of instruction/guidence, horrible accountability. Kids were crying, there was disorder. I'll definately be more careful in selecting the next summer camp. This one needs help.

This facility is extremely outdated looking and the equipment is subpar. The weights area was not very clean and was crammed. For this being in an upscale area, this Y does not reflect it - even the Penn Hills Y is in better shape and much more updated. Only good thing about this facility are the paddle courts and hut.

I'm currently in California but, before I moved here, I used to live in Pittsburgh. I attended this YMCA for all of my elementry school life. This is one of the best YMCAs I've been to (second best to the Miller Family YMCA in Newbury Park, CA). Thank you guys for the 5 best years of my life.

Membership prices are incredibly high. Walking inside one will immediately notice the extremely huge lack of diversity. Unlike the majority of YMCA's nationwide, this YMCA does not provide free use to military members. The entire complex is filled with a strong chlorine odor and the changing areas are always a mess. The class and activity offerings are directed more toward women, making one wonder if this should be rebranded as a YWCA...

For my New Year's resolution me and my father decided to work out everyday. We chose the Sewickly Valley YMCA. This "Y" is very suitable for anyone of any age. With the help of the machines provided by the "Y" my strength and endurance has progressed sooo much. You guys at the YMCA have created the living atmosphere, that men and women need to be around everyday.
SO THANK YOU.
P.S- The website could use more welcoming pictures. Great place, but it just doesnt show it on the website.
