I took my three boys (ages 9, 7, and 4) to a session with owner Scott and they had an absolute blast. They got to explore the gym while also getting individualized instruction. Scott is experienced, has high standards for doing things correctly and respectful behavior, but also has a lot of fun with the kids (and I was super impressed by his ability to call them all by name!). The only negative (not really about the gym) is that the sign-up process online is a bit confusing - but Scott is very kind and flexible with getting things set up correctly for you. We’ll be back again, I’m sure!

I am so glad we chose Steel City Ninja for my son's 4th birthday party. It was his first friends party & it was absolutely perfect! It was a great facility as we had the whole place to ourselves, really great SAFE environment for the kids to have a blast & make lasting memories. Coach Chris & Leah were extremely accommodating and such fun instructors for the kiddos! We will be back, my daughter has insisted hers is there next year already! Thanks to Scott & his team!

We chose Steel City Ninja for our son's 8th birthday party this past weekend, and it was a blast! We live about 30 minutes away, but we chose this specific gym without having been there before because I really loved their party plan (on the website), and my son loved that it was going to be an American Ninja Warrior experience. There were sixteen kids, ranging from ages 4 to 9. Coach Cookie and Coach Colton exceeded my expectations! They had total command of the rowdy group from start to finish, presenting safety rules and guidelines in a fun but firm way. They accommodated all of the kids' needs, attended to sensitive personalities, and made sure each kid (varying ranges of strength and ability) was comfortable and confident participating, including my 4yo daughter! I was extremely impressed. I would highly recommend Steel City Ninja for birthday parties. All three of my kids are asking when we can go back again, so I will be looking into the options for Open Gym! We loved the whole experience. Thank you, Coach Cookie and Coach Colton!

We are so glad we found Steel City Ninja. My seven year old loves his first class and can't wait too come back. Coach John was amazing with all the kids there and everyone was having a great time. This is a great place for kids to learn how to work together, burn off steam, and build strength and confidence. Check it out!

Steel City Ninja did an amazing job for our 6 yr olds birthday party. We had 12 ~6 yr olds and a couple 3 yr olds and they accommodated all ages in the party. Everyone had a great time, and the staff are really engaged and supportive to all the kids. Highly recommend for a fun unique birthday party for kids.

Huge let down. Drove an hour for a tiny facility and dead open gym. Details? Called hours ahead and arrived 20 minutes early. Not one heads up about footwear. When it was time to hit the floor, we were told my son needed tennis shoes (we are from the competitive gymnastics world, we didn’t know), which is no biggie. I quickly acknowledged we should have known, took ownership for not knowing and asked what stores were local (for me to purchase my son a quick pair of shoes), Staff actually argued that he should wear the Crocs and tried to reassure that it’s safe. I finally expressed firmly we are not comfortable with Crocs and to my surprise, both the Staff and Owner doubled down, saying my opinion is “unfounded.” Extremely weird and off putting interaction. We remained as positive as possible, made the best of the hour in his socks and left. Please for the love of your kiddos ankles don’t let these people tell you Croc's are safe to Ninja in…. Unfortunately, an experience like this makes me question their credentials, what people they’ve mislead (who may not know any better), depth of “expertise” and needless to say, we will not be back. Fellow Parents - this is your reminder to always look into the “pros” you’re hiring and don’t be afraid to ask questions!
Reply: Scott Carslaw and there’s the red flag - I can see you’re too busy defending your staff to realize there is a possibility your staff was in the wrong. That’s a blind spot dude. It is not your footwear policy that was off putting to me as a consumer, it was the staff member arguing that I should allow my son on the floor with Crocs on. Legit went back and forth with me, to the point that I had to explain more than once why it’s not okay. I communicated to you she was likely not trying to be malicious nor was it necessarily an attitude problem, today she made a mistake and ultimately crossed a line with a parent. That’s a great learning moment for a young coach, I agree she’s probably great, but still doesn’t make it correct. If you’re a tenured coach, you should be able to look back on mistakes you’ve made/learned from, too.
To be clear - 99% of the time I can respect that initial support of your team. You should, however, consider the 1% that your team is human and today a brand new patron of your business was wronged. We did not have interest in any program except yours, but after today and now that you mention it, maybe I will look into starting one.👍🏼

Our son (3yo) has been going to SCN for about 4 months now and it has been nothing but an amazing experience for him. He asks almost daily "dada, ninja open today?" It's definitely a highlight of his week!
It's also awesome for us to watch him fail at something, keep trying, and succeeding. The joy and happiness on his face of accomplishment is priceless and we get to experience that because of the coaches at SCN.
Thanks team!
Highly recommend this place!

This review is very long overdue! I honestly can't say enough positive things about Steel City Ninja. Here is our family's ninja story:
Our son, Jack, is a hyperactive kiddo. He NEVER sits still and is always bouncing off of things and climbing around our house. When Jack was 5 (he's almost 7 now) I did an online search trying to find him parkour classes because it only seemed natural. While I didn't find parkour, thankfully, I found Steel City Ninja instead and we signed him up for their very first class in their new facility.
We started with just one rec class a week, which quickly grew into two rec classes per week. Flash forward a year and a half and Jack is now on the competitive team and regularly attends 4-5 sessions per week.
At least once a week my wife and I talk about how Steel City Ninja has saved our lives! Jack's behavior is so much better when he has a productive outlet and the life lessons he is learning from Coaches Scott and Jon and their amazing team are so valuable. At 6 my son is learning how to be part of a team and how try and fail and try again until he masters what he is working on. The team is a close knit group of kids of all ages and abilities that genuinely care and support each other. They are also a very talented group of young athletes who work their tails off and have a blast while doing it!
If you are on the fence at all about getting you kiddo started at Steel City Ninja please don't hesitate. Attending that first class was one of the most important things we have ever done as a family and we are very grateful to all of the coaches, ninjas, and other parents that make Steel City Ninja so special!

This was one of our favorite birthday parties!! It was clean, organized and so much fun!! Our 10 year old son and 16 friends had an absolute blast— and the staff and owner (and his son Leo— the strongest and most talented 7 year old ninja I know) were stellar additions to the party! Highly recommended for a birthday party, class, or open gym!!!! And they were super responsive and readily available to schedule all the details of the party. Why doesn’t google allow 6 stars? Kudos, Steel City Ninja! We will definitely be back!!!!

We had a birthday party for our 7 year old and it was awesome! The best party we have had yet. The staff took care of everything making it very stress-free. All we had to do was order pizza, bring cake and show up. The facility is very nice, staff very easy to work with. and they provide a quality birthday party.

A great for a NINJA experience. This is Not a glorified gymnastics class. The routines, skills, and course varies often and we soon saw swinging, climbing, and strength skills developed in our children. Recommended by us.

Awesome ninja gym!! I recently booked a Team-Building Excursion for my son’s gymnastics team. The staff worked with me to develop a custom plan that would best fit our all-ages group. The staff gave great advice on how to conquer each obstacle and the boys loved the course. The staff also planned fun games and challenges for each of our different age groups. I would definitely recommend this place for an outing or Birthday Party. Great & friendly staff! We plan to return!

Coach Scott and Coach Jon are amazing with my 2 daughters (7 and 4). They both have come a long way, not only with their strength and abilities, but also their mindset about working hard to achieve a goal! They both love it!

Tried to confirm that walk-ins are welcome. After not returning my multiple phone calls they finally texted me back to communicate via text messages. What a surprise, they don't reply to texts either
