I teach yoga at this gym but here’s my HONEST non biased review.
This place has an insane amount of amenities (the fact that they provide towels is 🔥) the amount of free classes you can take, the sauna/steam/hot tub and the clean equipment really make this place worth the monthly cost. The managing staff is great and super knowledgeable and accommodating. SFP feels more like a luxury wellness center than a gym. 5 stars

Club is clean and everything want and expected in any club.

Owner, (Tom) was very awesome addressing a small issue occurred.

As for reading the other reviews,it's ones choice to leave what they feel is necessary as correct.Or review should have never been created.

I'm not sticking up for the club, bottom line you knew what you were getting if it's a question about cleanliness or anything should have considered joining,or brought up to be corrected.

It's not the ownership fault one that acting out of wants but what really need.

I belonged to Steel Fitness for almost 3 years, but when I moved out of state, they required me to mail a certified letter to them for cancellation. I had to print and mail a certified letter (since I wasn't able to come in person.) An archaic process that feels like a ploy to make it harder to cancel so they can continue to charge me. I don't like it. They were happy to email me the contract. Be warned. Hard to cancel.

Overall for fitness and amenities this is by far the nicest gym in the area. It's super clean, never overcrowded, and has the most classes in the area. If you are looking for a gym that caters to anything fitness related this is definitely your best option.

Earlier this year two older white men were taking about politics very loudly and using foul language in the men’s locker room. They began to openly talk in a racist manner about African American and Jewish Americans. One of them talked about the nazi salute and how he personally did it regularly, proceeded to do a full nazi salute
and laughed about it.  As someone of Jewish heritage I asked him not to be racist and to not perform the nazi salute. He then proceeded to call me “dumb” several times. He followed me around while shouting at me.  I told the front desk about the events and this member. All they said was “sorry”.

I reported it to membership and management and got a standard response. Nothing was ever actually done to address or improve the situation.

I did not feel comfortable in this openly hostile and racist environment and did not want to be part of a racist, antisemitic club. Despite this I was still going to have to pay the cancellation fee. I tried many times through email, phone, and even in person to cancel my membership, but they never responded. Even during regular business hours there was never anyone that could actually help me out - front desk would just take my information and tell me that someone would call me (nobody ever did).  I even filled out the pause membership paperwork but they still proceeded to charge me full monthly membership fees. They never got back to me regarding this issue either. I put a hold on my credit card and they proceeded to go through a debt collector.

The cancellation process is extremely difficult and they changed the process after I joined.  During my time at the club the members became intolerant, insensitive, hostile, and openly racist. My experience with the Steel Fitness management suggests that this type of horrific behavior is acceptable. The facilities are nice but I recommend looking at other gyms.

SHADYYYYYY as hell. This place just pulled the shadiest ISH i have ever heard. My wife and I use steel fitness through Wellhub/Gympass that she gets through her work. We used to be perm members a few years ago and had old CC on file. Since my wife takes the kids and uses the daycare through Wellhub they apprently changed their stance and now charge for the daycare extra through Wellhub. Instead of informing and getting new payment information from my wife for the daycare services they had the nerve to go back and try to CHARGE her CC from YEARS ago to pay for these new phantom charges that we didnt even know were coming. Whose ever idea that was needs to be canned or it was ownership, shame on you.

I was informed that my monthly price total would be $90/month. However, I was subsequently informed that it would be $120/month due to the absence of a specific title at my workplace. The manager’s demeanor was significantly less professional and lacked understanding. In contrast, the individual I initially spoke with was very kind and understanding. Therefore, I would not recommend this establishment if you are experiencing financial difficulties and require a place to go to the gym, as the manager’s lack of empathy is concerning.

BEWARE of Steel Fitness's Cancellation Scam

Think twice before signing up at Steel Fitness. The gym is decent, but they operate what feels like a scam when you try to leave.

My girlfriend needed to cancel after moving away. We were given the runaround immediately: "in-person only." A representative directed us to come see her on a specific day (09/12/25) between 9 AM and 5 PM.

We showed up, only to be told she had left early and that we were given incorrect information—she wasn't even the right person to help us! We were also informed that phone cancellations are reserved for "extreme circumstances," implying that moving 45 minutes awat isn't a good enough reason apparently...

This is an obvious strategy to make canceling so frustrating that you just give up. It's unacceptable and disrespectful to customers. We are still stuck trying to cancel. Learn from our mistake and choose a gym with a more honest policy.

Update: Today on 09/16/2025 I was contacted via phone, and I the representative of Steel Fitness related that the form to cancel the membership is up front at the desk. I asked if they could email it, we would sign and scan it over to her, but she related that they can't do that due to policy. The representative further related that the form has to be signed in person. I asked what happens if a member moves far away and can't make it there, to which the representative related that they can then send a certified letter to them and they would cancel the membership then. The representative related that we can go to the gym anytime to sign it as the form will be upfront. I am appalled that, that wasn't done the first time! The run around from this gym is insane and it appears the story has changed everytime. I may do another update to the review once the gym membership is canceled.

An exceptional standout gym in the area. Clean amenities, updated lifting machines, several squat racks, and a subdued, calm atmosphere for any types of workout. The running track, pool, sauna, hot tub, and steam room are all top notch as well. The facility also hosts classes like yoga for members. The staff is friendly and helpful as well. Highly recommended!

My credit card account was compromised back in July after returning from vacation. Once I confirmed the charges on my CC account were not valid my, card was immediately inactivated. This card was attached to many vendor accounts including Steel. It was a little overwhelming attempting to remember how vendors I needed to contact and update with new information. I contacted Steele and they updated my card over the phone. I thought that when I updated my account that it updated my husband’s account as well but found out today that we were set up individually and not the family plan. So his account went into arrears. Kalisah was the front desk Rep that helped us sort through everything today and notified me that my husband was listed separately. My card being compromised and inactivated has been extremely frustrating, and I am so thankful for Kalisah’s patience and kindness today. She took the time to help us sort through everything and understand why my husband’s Steele account was in arrears and not up to date with the payments. She updated his payment with my new card and added the new card to his account for me. The front desk was very busy at the time but Kalisah provided outstanding customer service to everyone that approached the front desk including me and my spouse. Very thankful for her patience, understanding, guidance and problem solving today. Kalisah is the ultimate Rock Star⭐️

For the 10th time this month I've come to the gym after work only to find along with all the other members, that we can't use the turf, trx ropes, battle ropes, boxing equipment, stretching, kettlebells, med balls, and more, because the fitness class is there with blaring music in competition with the regular music being played in the rest of the gym. I've never seen this dumb of an idea continue in a gym when we pay to use the workout floor and then can't, because you rope off the turf every day after work at 530pm for a class. There are workout studios for classes, yet you continue to take space and equipment from the members who aren't paying for a trainer or class. There is literally nowhere for us to stretch, warm up, nothing.I'm quitting this place. 2 years of this is enough. The men's locker room has had 7 of 10 broken showers for over a year. It's not a great gym any longer for me. They need to take a lesson from the Sporting Club at the Bellevue, my prior gym, on customer etiquette and member retention, because this isn't doing it. My prior review: My only complaint about this gym is the daily use by the staff of the turf area to hold group workouts with blaring music. There is already music playing for the other gym members on the gym floor who are not in the "private" class. We don't need to hear both. Also, we can't use the turf area or its equipment when you close it off each day at 530 pm for this class. Why can't you go use one of your fitness rooms for this class the same way you do the spinning classes? You are only doing body weight circuits and currently it disrupts the rest of the gym. The reason I joined this gym was for all the turf equipment that other gyms don't have and this was part of the membership tour, and here I'm learning the hard way that you can't use any of it during the week from 530-730pm.

I pulled up to Steel Fitness Premier on a 7-day pass my friend put me on to, and right from the jump—this place hit different. Clean, super well-equipped, and had everything I didn’t even know I needed 🏋️‍♂️. By the end of day one, I knew I was gonna join.

What really sold me was the pool 🏊‍♂️. I’ve been working through an injury, and being able to rehab in the water has been a game-changer for my recovery ♻️. It’s low impact, but still gets the body moving and the blood flowing. I’m feeling better already.

The layout of the gym is smooth—tons of machines, solid free weight area, open space for stretching and mobility work 🧘‍♂️, and even recovery options like the sauna 🧖‍♂️. Whether you’re pushing weight, doing cardio, or just getting your steps in—Steel’s got the setup.

And major props to the staff. From front desk to trainers, everyone’s welcoming and knowledgeable ✅. They make it feel more like a fitness community than just a gym.

If you’re looking for a spot to train, heal, or just stay consistent in your routine, Steel Fitness Premier’s got you covered 💪. I’m grateful I found it—perfect balance of intensity and recovery.

The staff was made aware of my intent to cancel and it was noted on my account 6 months prior. Still charging me an extra month fee for not giving a 30-day written notice. Business ethics and integrity could be improved with the handling of cancellations as I see this is a recurring theme on the reviews. Facility is great and the employees are professional. The experience of the exit leaves a sour taste.

Don't go here. Save yourself money and aggravation. I wouldn't recommend this gym for anyone, and would never go back.

The gym requires 30-day notice for cancelling membership. That's standard, but it's also not true. The "30-day" notice "requires" an additional month according to their robot. When a month has 31 days, and you inform on the 1st of the month, 30 days wouldn't roll into another month. They can't do math though. I tried to cancel March 30th. No one in the office is apparently intelligent enough to fill out a form without one specific robot there, who only works Monday through Thursday. As other reviews mention, you must cancel in person.

The gym isn't worth the cost. The pools may be heated, but they aren't warm. They are crowded with children, and not enjoyable because of it. The equipment they have available is dated and damaged which for the cost shouldn't be the case. I stopped using the gym after a few visits because of these issues. They want me to pay an extra month outside the "30-day" notice with no explanation of why 30 days actually isn't 30 days.

I bought the membership to use the lap pool specifically. There are 2 more pools one for therapy and the other is used for mainly aquatic excersize usually for 1-2 hours a day. That said, the issue I have is with the lap pool which only has 4 lanes for swimmers. 90% of the time, 1 of the 4 lanes is always reserved to teach swimming. That leaves 3 lanes for swimmers. Depending on the time of day it can get crowded with 2 or more swimmers using the same lane. I was told by one of the employees that the students taking the class were not members and were using the lane paid for or rented out by the swimm school. Well us swimmers pay for memberships too and we should not have to sacrifice a lane to teach swimming every day while there is another pool available... That is my opinion. Hopefully the swimm school grows out of 1 lane of a pool and constructs a pool to better serve their needs. But, I doubt it does...

**Very Poor Experience – Terrible Customer Service**

I am beyond frustrated with my experience at this gym. Two months ago, I called to cancel my membership and was told that I needed to come in person to do so. I made the trip today, only to be told that they couldn’t cancel my membership at that time either. When I decided to stay and work out instead, they refused to even let me use the facilities!

It’s clear that customer service is not a priority for this gym. I’ve been stuck in a membership I no longer want, and they’re making it impossible to cancel. I would strongly advise anyone considering this gym to think twice before committing. There’s no accountability, and they make the process of cancellation unnecessarily difficult. Save yourself the headache and find a gym with better service.

Here is an honest review. Last month, my husband and I joined that gym after a lot of consideration. We joined it so he could use the pool to lose weight because he has bad knees. There are a ton of kids in that pool and the three lap lanes are always filled. This resulted in him not using the membership And since his knees were bad, he really had no other exercises that he could do without it affecting his knees. The entire reason we joined that gym was so that he could use the pool because planet fitness is one quarter of the cost monthly and does nit have a pool. Since the pool was not so pleasant to use, he barely used the gym. As far as me, I wanted to join for the equipment, but I realized that they don’t have two of the machines that I enjoy using. I thought I would enjoy the hot tub more, but the first time I used it somebody turned the lights on which made it less enjoyable for me and the second time I used it somebody stole my towel. Which also made me less than happy. I thought you know for the price I can go to planet fitness because it really wasn’t worth the extra money for us because we only joined it for the pool. I have two hernias and my husband has really really bad knees. So we pay $189 for the two of us or somewhere around there and we canceled it , Today, March 11 and they are making us pay until April 30 which is completely unfair especially because there is an early termination fee of $245 a person. Which is excessive. May 1st they want to charge you the maintenance fees and I’m sure they’re gonna try to squeeze that out of us too. Completely unfair. We should not be charged an extra month for terminating our membership. It’s not fair and it really ticked me off. Very unfair. My advice is don’t even join. The pool is full of kids, which is OK I like kids, but the pool is full of kids and in my opinion it is not worth the high price. We put a lot of time and effort into this decision to join and I said we chose it because of the pool, but he couldn’t even swim laps, which is what he wanted to do. It’s overpriced and a complete waste of money. To know that we are going to be shelling out an extra $700 between now and April 30 is very disheartening. That’s a ton of money and it’s really not fair. We were prepared for the 500 but not prepared for the 700 and it really really really really is unfair. I had to read the contract multiple times to understand that they are going to charge us that extra month and it’s just not fair. It’s absolute crap. They should’ve canceled it on the day that we canceled.

This place is a joke. Contacted them Sunday night via their website to use the "free" day pass. Got a phone call Monday and talked to Connor. Explained to Connor I am not from the area and that my gf lives up here and was a previous member. Explained that I was only gonna do the day pass, wasn't gonna sign up and didn't mind paying the day pass if it's a hassle. He said not a problem since you're being up front and honest with me, I'll still give you the day pass anyway. Respectable. All was well, until I get there and sit down with Cameron who explains because I don't live in the area I don't "qualify" for the day pass and would have to pay $29 for a damn day pass! I have no problem paying a $10-$15 day pass to workout somewhere but $29 is ridiculous. Especially when everything was said before hand that I don't live in the area. Could've just explained that from the start. Given the constant bad reviews I've seen about this place, I should have known better.

Just a few days ago, I shared my experiences with this gym, highlighting my appreciation for its welcoming atmosphere, excellent amenities, and overall environment. However, I also expressed concerns regarding the reliability of the steam room, which made me question my decision to remain a member.

I am pleased to say that the club has exceeded my expectations with its prompt and professional response in addressing the issue. Their commitment to member satisfaction and swift resolution of concerns has truly reinforced my confidence in their dedication to excellence.

In light of this, I hold the gym in the highest regard and wholeheartedly recommend it to others. The level of care, priority, and respect they extend to their members is truly commendable. I am grateful for their outstanding service and delighted to continue being part of this exceptional community.

You need to come during specific business hours to cancel your membership and it’s a whole process. Probably easier to cancel card and get no card then to cancel membership. They don’t care about the new FTC rule.

The "Click-to-Cancel" rule is a Federal Trade Commission (FTC) rule that requires businesses to make it as easy to cancel a subscription as it was to sign up. The rule was finalized on October 16, 2024.

Steel Fitness Premier is exactly that- the Premier facility for all things fitness! We've been members for almost a year and a half, and love it. There's tons of equipment for whatever you are in to- huge free weight area, Smith and HammerStrength machines, a large space for abs and other workouts including cool classes(some that include punching bags!), and several different varieties of ellipticals, treadmills and stair climbers, bicycles..there's literally something for everyone! And there's a walking/running track lofted above the gym which is neat. Not to mention they have 3 different pools! There are also separate studios and a spin class room...too many options and amenities to list everything here.

Locker rooms have all the amenities including CLEAN showers, and each locker side has their own whirlpool, sauna and steam room. Perfect pre or post workout!

Members are all ages and super friendly, as are the staff and Trainers who work really hard and maintain highest standards.

We were sick of waiting in line for equipment and the unclean areas at another gym, so we checked out SFP and it was the best thing ever we could have done!

Honestly, what are you waiting for? : ) Get fit while having FUN in a wonderful facility!

This gym charges $90 per month if you sign a one-year contract with strict rules to keep you locked in. It’s not worth the price. The equipment is outdated, and something is always broken—the elliptical is constantly out of order. The lockers have issues too—once you lock them, they won’t open, and you have to call the front desk just to access your own things, which is extremely inconvenient.

The check-in process is frustrating—the scanner takes forever to work, and if you accidentally forget to scan in, the staff treats you like you’re trying to sneak in. One time, an employee followed me all the way to the locker room just because I was distracted on the phone and didn’t check in right away.

The class schedule is very limited, and the one class I liked was only offered once a week. One time, I showed up for a class with two others, and instead of starting as scheduled, 10 minutes later, the instructor told us to join a different class because there weren’t enough people. What if I didn’t want to take another class? The dumbbells are never enough for everyone and the mats are worn out and hard to find. I always preferred to bring my own.

The childcare service was also disappointing. When I picked up my 3-year-old, she was crying because the lady was taking her toys away before closing. Instead of rushing to clean up while kids are still there, maybe they should allow extra time after closing to do so.

To top it off, when you first sign up, they offer a “body assessment” just to pressure you into buying personal training sessions.

I wouldn’t recommend it.

Stopped in for a visit to tour the facility and get costs. Husband and I just moved into the area and wanted to get right back into our routines. Not only were we ignored completely by not one but TWO employees neither even acknowledged us at all!!! If zero was an option to rate, that would be my choice. To the gentleman that was at the desk. You saw us and couldn’t even stop the phone-call you were on long enough to even hold up a finger saying one moment. Nothing?!?! And to the younger female that walked back and forth twice and did the same?? Ok. Just saying that I could have completely walked past the front desk without checking in at all and not one person would have questioned me. Guess maybe I don’t need a membership. Maybe I’ll test that theory. To anyone paying for a membership, why bother?

I have not been to this Gym in 7 months because I moved. I was told if I want to cancel I would have to pay $500. The customer service representative suggested I just suck it up and wait for the contract to end. So it’s the end of my contract and I call to let them know I’m definitely not joining again , just for them to tell me they already enrolled me into the next year. No warning, no email, no reminder just that they already enrolled me into the next year. I ask them to please reconsider my contract ends in October, I have been paying $100 a month to a gym I don’t go to , I moved.I’m trying to get out of this contract. They tell me I’m going to have to pay for November, and if I want to cancel I have to come in and sign papers but I still have to give another $100 for November . Are you kidding me??? I asked several times if they could reconsider , and the answer was NO. This is not customer service. This is not right! Crazy that we pay $100 per month for this membership and the yoga mats they provide us are absolutely filthy, look like they are 10 years old and are disintegrating. Door does not shut in the mens sauna and everybody has asked them hundreds of times to fix it. The machinery is rusty and often out of order. The towels they lend out are yellow, frilled, old, and they are stored in a machine that requires a passcode that doesn't work. The lockers in the men's room don't work and frequently need somebody from the front desk to open them up. Showers and shower curtains look dirty. Parking is far from the gym. Body fat % machine often out of order. Trainers say they will call to schedule a session and they dont. This place is overpriced and the only thing here that is better than planet fitness is the sauna, which again is drafty, and thermostat is inaccurate. This gym should spend $50 and buy some new yoga mats and spend 5 minutes to fix the sauna door. If people are going to pay a premium then this place needs to do a better job. Most conversations I have with other gym goers usually conclude the same thing: they do not listen to complaints and they take their clients for granted. For $100/month they should do better!

The gym and locker rooms are what you would expect for the price point they need TLC but it's reasonable. The issue comes from the rest of the amenities. They advertise a reasonable availability of pools for you to utilize, what they fail to mention is that for a large amount of the day all three pools are in use by EMAC, this also comes with a large amount of children and their parents making the pool uncomfortable and unusable.
When the staff is asked about a pool usage calendar (which is referenced in an older review by ownership) there is no such item. EMAC has the calendar so you are forced to ask a random 3rd party when they won't be present so you can use the pool for cool down and recovery that you pay a premium for.
When asked for the best time to get access to the pool "when we open at 5am" was what was relayed. It's unreasonable to expect to go to the gym outside of times that work for you just to use something that is a part of the membership.
Sign up for this gym if you only need the workout room, or locker room extras.

Used to be an amazing gym with unbeatable amenities that included 3 different pools. However, it seems they've increased the amount of time EMAC's allowed to use the pool - the gym and lobby are always swarming with families/children attending swim class. If you're looking to swim the only shot you've got is to attend in the wee early hours of the morning or come in the two hours before closing. It's really not conducive 9-5 professional schedule. If you ask the staff about more convenient adult swim hours - they tell you to check for the non-existent schedule on the pool room door or bulletin board. When I signed up the gym had no super set signs posted - those have since gone down and people have begun taking up two pieces of equipment during peak hours. The equipment is also beginning to appear ratty and worn down - several are out of commission right now with ripped seats, etc...

Again it used to be a great gym with unbeatable amenities... ATM it's kind of a smit show.

management stands behind the "I'm just following rules" practice even when the business practices are questionable.

READ YOUR CONTRACT BEFORE SIGNING

tried to cancel, made you jump through hopes, managers aren't there to give you paperwork, front desk workers are more concerned about their phones then helping.

after phone calls stating I wanted to close my account they made me send certified letters to close it. Not worth the price...stick local, go to another gym. if you need to swim check out the local universities where you can actually get a lane.

I've been lifting and going to gyms for about 16 years. This is not my favorite weight room, but is probably the best total package fitness center in the area. The reason for 3 stars is the lack of preventative maintenance.
I have complained off and on for the 1.5 years that I've been a member here (and I average 5-6 days a week attendance) about the dumbbells being loose. They may sometimes tighten them, but not on a regular schedule.
Leaders: to fix the problem, go around the corner to harbor freight and pick up some threadlock. Spend about an hour with a drill and remove all of the securing bolts in the dumbbells, put a little threadlock on, and screw them back in. That's all it would take to forever fix your problem.
Plus, most of the equipment needs oiling and deep cleaning. But there's no place better, so I give you that much. UPDATE 30may24 - dumbbells still loose...
Update 20June2024: why fix things when you can tape them?
Update 30Jul2024- dumbbells still loose!
Update 12Aug2024- 30lb dumbbells almost came loose in my hands. Reported equipment issues to front desk yesterday, watched him write it down, will update if it ever gets fixed

I was at this gym for a year and would say that for the price I paid, it was not worth it.

The yoga instructor would single me out every class to try to help. I understand what they are trying to do, but I even asked not to be made an example of me, and the instructor declined. so I stopped attending that.

There aren't any benefits for returning members. Even if you pay upfront for a full year. They don't inform you that your contract is going to end. So you can get automatically put into a month to month plan without knowing.

Also, the contract is a 30-day cancelation if you are on a month to month basis. There aren't 30 days in every month, so you can get stuck paying for 2 months if you don't watch when you signed up.

Make sure you read your contract thoroughly. Even if you are month to month and go to cancel its an additional month. Plus membership fees. Would of been happy to stay if they had any incentives for returning members but all they seem to be concerned about is what kind of discounts they can give new members. Was great for the time being but I caution any new members to read your contract even if your month to month.

On and off member at this facility for years. Attempted recently hoping there was some improvement. There hasn't been. It has gone downhill. An already tight pool is leased out to an outside group that has a pool of their own. The lane sharing "rule" is never enforced. People walk and jump around in the lap pool while an activity pool is literally feet away.

Great gym, warm towels, hot tub, sauna, steam room, pool, track overlooking the gym floor.… can’t find all these amenities at most gyms.

Membership is not very cheap, but it includes unlimited classes, and they have plenty of classes offered.

Great gym and aerobic classes but steer clear of their personal training program. It is anything but personal. They make you work around the trainer’s schedule and do not accommodate injuries very well. If you don’t like it, they ‘encourage’ you to buy out your contract whereby you lose all of your remaining sessions and pay them a lump sum.

Great work out facilities, but a worthless family swim program. Two changing stations for several families in a co-ed area. With the rules to use the pool being centered on coaching and rehabilitation and not being able to use even pool noodles and how much we pay to be members I am surprised they even bother to have family swim. Do not recommend taking your family here to swim.

In town visiting family and wanted to get a workout in. Visited the website and filled out a form for a free day pass. When I arrived to the facility I was told it was only for local residents but that I could pay for a day pass.

I find it to be a little ridiculous to have non locals pay. A free pass would have let me enjoy the facility and tell my family good things about the gym and in turn, tell others about it.

Unfortunately that wasn’t the case and I will be telling my family and their friends about this poor experience.

I have been a loyal member of this gym for some time now, but the events of today have left me disheartened. Today, I encountered extremely rude and unprofessional behaviour from a staff. What was even more distressing was that her coworker verbally attacked me, causing unnecessary distress and embarrassment.

I came in the gym with my father (a guest) and told the front desk that I’m simply dropping him off. This rude old lady (staff) came running after me, yelling and embarrassing me. I explained what I was doing. She said she had to register him. I said ok and went with her with my child. She started typing something on her computer. I told her I had to run for my child’s activity. She started showing me attitude and said “I WILL let you know when I AM done.” I complied. Waited for 30 mins.

She purposely kept me waiting by the front desk for 30 mins with my child, she refused to answer what was taking so long. After 30 mins she said “you have to sit with ur guest. Waiting for him” when I specifically told her I had to leave for my child’s activity and that I was in rush. When I confronted her, this young and immature staff started verbally attacking me. Putting her nose where it doesn’t belong. No self respect.

When I sought to address the issue with the manager, my concerns were not met with the understanding or resolution I had hoped for. The manager's refusal to apologize and protect his employees, despite the obvious misconduct, was deeply disappointing.

I must admit that this is not the first time I have faced discrimination and unfair treatment within the gym. It's disheartening to observe the stark contrast in the treatment I, and some of my friends who share my nationality, receive when compared to other American customers. The consistent issues we face, especially from one particular staff member, are unacceptable.

As a member, I expected to enjoy a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere at the gym. Unfortunately, recent events have made me question whether this is truly the case.

I am not the type of person who leaves reviews but if anyone else faced this type of treatment from these people. Sorry to hear that. Some people need to be a DECENT HUMAN BEINGS. I was asked to apologized to the staff by the manager. If I was the problem in this situation then I would happily apologize. They kept labelling me as rude and gaslighting me. Unbelievable. Caused a scene in front of my 5 year old.

This fitness center's only desire is to rob you of your money. They make cancelling extremely difficult and charge an exorbitant amount of money to cancel your membership. So for example, when you try to cancel, they make you pay an additional month plus a $150 per member. So to cancel two memberships, I would have to pay around $500. Please be careful. Do not sign their contacts. While they may offer a lot, their only desire is to take as much money as they can from you. If you want personal training on top of your pricey monthly fee, they charge excessively as well. One day a week adds almost another 400 to your already 100 monthly membership fee. They are rude on the phone when you try to cancel and make it as difficult as possible. They refuse to cancel over the phone and you must go into their center. I asked to cancel by phone to avoid being charged any additional monies and then would come in and sign any paperwork needed, and they refused. I wanted my account to reflect I was cancelling now not later. Nice to you when you join, but extremely rude and difficult when you need to cancel. Be forewarned.
When they respond "protect the customer" it is totally laughable - they do it to make it as difficult as possible and squeeze every last penny they can.

I enjoyed visiting SFP so much that I drained my bank account to pay for a full year up front in cash. The pandemic closed the facility and the owner wouldn't let me return, using the funds I'd already paid in full. The BBB attempted to contact Mr. Fenstermacher with regard to my complaint. They reported that like me, he refused to answer their calls. It's a fantastic gym and the team was great, but the owner clearly doesn't care for the actual members. I'd have paid for an endless member ship year after year and he just didn't want me or my money. All he had to do was let me workout for the 6 months or so for which I'd already paid--would've cost him nothing. Instead, his response (or lack thereof), cost him a lifetime relationship. How sad for everyone.

This gym is not perfect.
Actually I don't know about the gym...I am a pool fan. The classes and instructors are great, the temps usually good, the amenities in the locker room too numerous to list, and I rent a small locker so I don't have to lug the shampoo I use to keep my hair in condition. I once asked if tissues were still being kept because they ran low in winter one weekend; CJ and Sam now keep extras in case we run low!
It may not be perfect, but I think I am renewing my membership. I have been here a year and it's a great part of my fitness goals. :)

Oh and I meet others who take gym classes... The ones I've met seem happy to be here, too. Valet parking in the day is great, esp when I am running behind that day. From warm towels and cotton balls to tiny snacks and drinks in the lobby... A great place for me to work out.

It is amazing that ownership took time to respond with a multi paragraph response yet still fails to respond to the customer. To clarify, your marketing of your reopening lacked any ability for customers to respond. Second , by not allowing me to work out without signing a revised liability statement, which is absurdly owner protective, is failing to allow our original contract to continue. Unless there is language in your first agreement that allows such a modification this is a change of terms of the agreement. Simple business law would create a solid argument that this is a breached agreement.

In regards to the liability, not all businesses have moved to a new release. While I agree there is a need to revise , releasing any liability from ownership to have a commercially reasonable maintenance and cleaning is not acceptable.

Lastly to be clear I am representing facts. Fact is June 26 I called, July 1st I was on property asking for a response, on July 7 the 9th and today I called. 14 days to respond, even 10 from July 1 is absurd. I gave a courtesy and told the front desk that I understand that they are busy. I stated how about I wait til the 7th to give them time to respond.

My review of the lack of professionalism is relative. If you wish to continue a public debate I am willing to elevate. You have my number. I will wait until Monday, since I assume this is your response recommendation.

Please note that I have been clear on my issue to each person I engaged. Only did today they refer to the director. While all interactions, by both your staff and me, has been courteous, I am not sure what they did to route my concern.

I have tried since June for a return call from management, to date without luck. This includes also email outreach during their shutdown period, that was not responded too. While closed, and maybe not paying attention at that period, a response when opened would have been nice. Never notified that the venue was open, just charged. Still not rebated for the charge of full membership when closed in March. Now a revised release is required to work out, while other organizations take responsibility and don't change the contract mid term without a compensation, a standard in legal changes in agreements mid term. But surely could have addressed all of this in a more professional less public way if the consistent requests for a reply were honored.

The pools are faithfully maintained and always clean. The water aerobic classes provide a good work out and are fun.
Once the weather is warmer, it would be ideal to enter the gym at the front desk, swim and leave the pool area through the side door to the side parking lot. That would enable us to drip dry in a cover up and dry outside on our way to our cars. This would avoid shower and locker room use.
Reservations on line could be made for class attendance.

The staff has to be the best in the valley. I’m retired and actually look forward to going to the gym as often as possible. The front desk staff is most congenial with a smile that just makes every morning a bright day. Atmosphere is friendly with people that seem to care about one another. That said there are a very few people that cause issues and are in need of reminders on proper etiquette in the gym (clean equipment) and locker room (return used towels and shower before going into the hot tub and especially after spending time in the steam room). Remember your mother isn’t here to pick up after you.
The facilities and staff are top notch. The smiles are contagious.
Hope to see you soon
