I have been going to Stray Dog Yoga for around 5 years. It is the most wonderful studio to practice. I wanted to give a special review of the Prenatal Yoga classes, especially the instructor Laura Baker. I didn’t start taking classes until around 30 weeks pregnant. Even in just those last 10 weeks, I learned so much to help prepare me for a very intense labor and delivery. Learning different breathing techniques was extremely helpful, I found myself doing them even before after delivery. Laura does an amazing job helping you really tune into your body, ways to stay relaxed, and sending energy to the places it’s needed and conserving energy elsewhere. The exercises and stretches we did in class, I practiced at home, making my labor much shorter. We would discuss different positions to labor in and support equipment that can be helpful for labor/delivery. She has great insight, not only from her training, but from her own birth stories. I highly recommend anyone who is pregnant, to take the prenatal yoga classes and to start as soon as possible. The more you work on these skills and techniques, the easier they are to use in the heat of the moment. During my birth experience, I could hear Laura’s voice in my head, reminding me of how to breath and where to send my energy.
The class also is a great place to interact with other expecting moms, hear their pregnancy experience, and relate to those going through the same things you are. You do not need a yoga practice background to take these classes either, so don’t let that be a reason you don’t go.

LOVED the prenatal yoga classes with Gina & Jennifer. It made a huge difference in my comfort during pregnancy and truly believe it assisted with a short and unmedicated birth. Highly recommend!

As a tall, clumsy male in his mid-forties, I never thought in a million years that I would get into hot yoga. Over a year later, it has become a regular part of my routine several times a week. Yes, it’s hot—and sometimes uncomfortably so—but the way you feel after every session is unlike anything I’ve experienced with dozens of different kinds of workouts.
I’ve been dealing with back, neck, and shoulder pain for a long time, but after regularly attending these classes, I’ve never felt better! I wake up most days pain free and I have more flexibility than I’ve had in years.
The awesome women who teach these classes all have different styles, but they’re all fantastic! I can’t recommend this studio highly enough. If you’ve ever thought about trying hot yoga, this is the place to go.

I attended prenatal classes here with Laura, who was pregnant herself at the time and was exceptional. As it was my first pregnancy, the tips and movements she discussed were playing at the back of my mind during active labor. I had a natural, unmedicated birth, and her guidance made a significant difference.

I have done yoga here and there throughout my life but never really caught on to the breath work needed. Then I was introduced to Stray Dog Yoga Studio.
Stray Dog has been a place of respite and recovery for me. This studio provides a safe space for me to escape the hustle & chaos of every day life while working on healing my body from within. The sessions are meditative but fiery.
Despite being plagued with autoimmune issues which include symptoms of joint pain, dysregulation, etc. Stray Dog instructors have taught me how to be still and focus on leading my movements with breath. It’s been a game changer in my healing process. The heat & humidity make me sweat like crazy to naturally detox. And the breath work cleanses me from within while I push my body to new limits in flexibility, strength, and activation.
The owners & staff are kind and inviting. All are welcome here as it’s truly a judgement free zone. The sessions not only get your body flowing, but the instructors intentionally guide you mentally as well. While embracing the Sanskrit phrase “the light in me honors the light in you”, they make each participant feel appreciated and that they are exactly where they are supposed to be.
Side note: the variation in music is awesome too! Some instructors use traditional spa music while others step the rhythm up with more popular songs. Who knew yoga + Queen Latifah go hand-in hand?!?! I love it all so much!

I attended prenatal yoga at Stray Dog with instructor Laura Baker. It was the best thing I did to prep for childbirth! Laura taught me so many helpful breathing techniques and positions for labor. I would recommend this class to all pregnant women.

I attended the Prenatal Yoga class at Stray Dog on Wednesday evenings a handful of times during my first pregnancy, and for a majority of my second pregnancy. Laura was an incredible teacher and resource - providing education on breathing techniques, birthing positions, and providing specific advice if giving birth in a hospital. The yoga she taught prepared me mentally and physically and gave me the confidence to trust my body throughout the labor process. The casual layout of the class made it more interactive than most yoga classes, leading to great discussions and to great yoga. I highly recommend anyone in their pregnancy journey to take the time to attend Laura's class!

I absolutely love Stray Dog Yoga! It’s one of the best heated yoga studios in Pittsburgh. The heated classes are perfect for helping my muscles stretch and relax, making each session effective and enjoyable. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, making every student feel special and supported through each pose. The welcoming atmosphere is perfect for yogis of all levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners. I recently had an amazing yoga session at Stray Dog Yoga in Wexford, and I couldn't be more impressed with the experience. The instructor, Erin, is hands down the best I've ever had.
Erin's guidance and expertise created an atmosphere of tranquility and focus. Her passion for yoga was evident in every aspect of the session, from her clear and soothing instructions to her genuine concern for each participant's well-being.
The studio itself has a welcoming ambiance, and the positive energy is contagious. I left feeling not only physically rejuvenated but also mentally and emotionally centered.
If you're looking for a yoga studio that combines expert instruction with a warm and inviting environment, Stray Dog Yoga is the place to be. I highly recommend Erin as an instructor; her skill and dedication truly set this studio apart. Can't wait for my next session!

They don’t make it clear that they’re class only. I showed up to do yoga first time and they told me their next class is 2 hours later and I can’t join the current as a drop in or first time trying them out. Unprofessional

Laura’s prenatal classes are THE BEST around. She has supported two of my three pregnancies through her knowledge of Lamaze techniques, prenatal exercise and pelvic floor. Through her teaching, she cultivates confidence as well as community amongst the mothers. I could not recommend her more!

Only giving one star because the early experience was positive. My wife went to prenatal yoga classes and then we attended the couples Lamaze class before our daughter was born. Laura was an extremely great instructor.
Fast forward to now about a year later. My wife attended Saturday yoga classes. Really enjoyed it was very important to her.
Was 2 mins late doors locked (understand that maybe as a security measure although not sure why that is important in Wexford lol) she called the contact number on website to see if they could let her in. Unfortunately it didn’t go to the owner. It went to her husband’s cell(I guess he doesn’t like being the secretary) he swore at my wife was extremely rude and hung up on her (f bombed her) I guess I was just raised differently aka not to swear at a woman. But after that experience with the secretary she will no longer be attending that studio. I am a small family business owner. A few keys to being a small business owner is not to cuss at customers. And probably not have anyone take phone calls that isn’t serious about your business.
We have given countless referrals to this studio since many of our friends are pregnant and they not only offer prenatal but Lamaze classes. We have contacted all of them about this situation. And will continue to tell of our unfortunate experience. Shouldn’t be hard to find another studio in the Wexford area that we can recommend to friends

Laura’s prenatal yoga class is the best!
She provided such a welcoming and fun environment each time I was there. Class was easy to follow and Laura did a great job explaining each move and its intention. The stretches and poses taught during class were helpful to aid in any discomfort I was experiencing as my pregnancy progressed - and additionally nice to do at home in between classes.
Class not only was a great way for me to move my body weekly but also a chance to learn and talk with other moms going through this same process.
My husband and I also took Laura’s Lamaze course. Laura taught us tons of information regarding the birth process, birthing positions , ways to advocate for ourselves, how to develop our desired birth plan , pain management - and that is just to name a few.
But most importantly to us - the education she taught calmed our nerves and gave us confidence, allowing us to enjoy the birth experience much more than we had expected.
I can’t recommend Prenatal Yoga / Lamaze with Laura enough ! She is a delight !

I have been coming to stray dog for a couple years now and have enjoyed every class. Today was my first class with the instructor Mary and she taught many new flows/poses that were exciting to learn, was easy to follow, and she had a great Valentine’s Day playlist. I look forward to more classes with Mary!

I am forever grateful to my friend, Laura Baker! I attended her prenatal yoga classes prior to baby; where she did an excellent job of educating the class about anatomy, labor and delivery, breathing techniques, laboring positions, stamina, and empowerment! I highly recommend attending her classes at Stray Dog Yoga.
In addition to attending her prenatal classes, my husband and I participated in her two part Lamaze training (also held at Stray Dog). This was an all encompassing childbirth course that really prepared us for the big, baby day! Laura creates reassurance that we have control over our birth experience..more than what we are taught to believe within society.
We learned everything from our body’s anatomy, it’s response to our hormones and how to work with them, coping with labor pain, labor positions, delivery positions, nursing, and a lot more! Truthfully, I was able to apply what I learned during Lamaze to my birth. I am beyond thankful, because my birth experience was amazing and really the best day of my life. I felt in control, prepared, and ready for anything we had to face! Plus we got our most precious gift..our daughter!
Thank you for EVERYTHING Laura, so grateful to you.. and am a big believer in yoga, Lamaze and childbirth education in preparation for baby.
