Jon, Molly and their crew have made an amazing, welcoming space in the heart of South Philly. Their classes are fun and challenging. I've been a member for about 3 months, and the benefits are great. I take advantage of extracurricular gym use and I get to use all the equipment at my own pace.

They use the "Somble" app for scheduling. It is a bit clunky, but functional, and allows easy booking (and unhooking for when my plans change). Their cancellation policies are very reasonable, and they also don't have draconian membership contracts.

Very happy to live nearby this excellent community space with friendly, driven, compassionate people!

This gym changed me into someone that enjoys working out. I've tried a ton of gyms in the city and have enjoyed them to varying degrees, but Strength Haüs has classes that have made me *strong* and a community that encourages me. The coaches and clients are the coolest, nicest, best version of gym people out there. I love being able to measure my strength in the kettlebell classes that absolutely obliterate me, and Barbell Club classes (especially with Coach Parker, motivating royalty) have taught me to lift on my own in a way I never thought I'd be able to.

Some extra touches outside of the coaches and classes are the little candies as pre-workout, socks/barefoot only so you can move with ease, and the design being the opposite of an eyesore. Huge for me! The membership being flexible/no cancellation fees is also incredible.

My kid loves it here too - he has a weekly lesson with Jon that is making him confident in his movement, gets his energy out, and makes him love his body and what it can do. The community he's found through Strength Haüs and the connected/sister gym Juniper Muy Thai has been an absolute game changer at home and school, so we really appreciate what Coach Jon, Coach Molly, and Coach Mike (who instructs at Strength Haüs and Juniper Muy Thai) have done for that.

tldr: go here to get jacked with sweethearts

Every single one of these instructors are insanely knowledgeable and also truly lovely people. The space is fun and welcoming to everyone. They 100% put you to work and you absolutely get results, but you never dread going.

Cheesy to say, but it feels more like hanging out with your friends than “working.” Uniquely, this gym really gives you the skills and confidence to go into any gym to strength train… like if you’re on vacation or something, because you’d definitely prefer to be here.

This place has changed my relationship to exercise and strength training completely — beginner friendly, welcoming to all, extremely nice people, very informed and helpful coaches, lots of scheduling options and flexible cancellation policy for classes…. Can’t say enough positive things! So grateful for Strength Haus! PS the Strength for Beginners workshop was a great place to start for someone like me with zero background experience, highly recommend it!

I’ve been a member of SH since the start and always loved the classes and instructors. They really hit it out of the park, though, during my pregnancy: each instructor was mindful of my needs and comfort, and offered alternatives to the routine that were best for my body at that time. I am grateful to have this in the neighborhood and am looking forward to getting back in classes soon!

Dropped in here with a friend yesterday, and man, what a great vibe. The owner was extremely kind and welcoming and the members were friendly. It was overall such a great atmosphere that immediately made me feel comfortable. The conditioning class was a great workout and felt like it went by so fast! I’d definitely come back here the next time I’m in the area.

I became a Strength Haüs member after over 6 months at another kettlebell gym and I’m so glad I switched! I left my plateau and gained muscle here much faster. I also corrected a form issue that was causing my lower back to hurt. I came in thinking that 12K was my heavy bell, but after just a few months I use 14K, with 16k as my heavy. I feel so strong! My friends are all commenting that my butt is looking especially good. The coaches are fun and welcoming. Everyone is great at demonstrating without being intimidating. They challenge me but also encourage everyone not to have an ego so we don't get hurt. There's a big variety of strength levels in the classes with modifications offered to make things harder or easier. The community is welcoming and the playlists are on point. Lastly their online booking system is easy.

Can’t say enough wonderful things about Strength Haüs! I’ve been working with Jess for several months and am so thrilled to have found an incredible coach in a very cool, dynamic and welcoming space. Jess is a master at all she does, is great at explaining and demonstrating things, is insanely knowledgeable, and puts me at ease— an all around gem of a human and trainer. She’s supportive and encouraging, and always available to answer questions. I am amazed with how much progress Jess has helped me make with my balance, mobility, and strength (after being derailed by an injury a bit ago). Jess, Jon & the team are so fun and down to earth— I truly look forward to my visits to SH. I highly recommend checking out SH for 1-on-1 coaching with Jess or for classes— it doesn’t get any better!

As a fitness professional, I can’t recommend Jon and his team at Strength Haüs enough. The extent of their knowledge and coaching abilities are through the roof. They are some of the best coaches I have ever had the pleasure of working with. On top of their ability to help you get stronger, build muscle and learn about working out; they are also doing it all with an amazing attitude, making the class fun, exciting, and getting you to enjoy fitness every time you’re with them.

Jon & the Strength Haus team truly improve Philly's fitness community. They are a professional group of coaches that care deeply about fostering an inclusive community in a space where people feel comfortable learning how to get stronger. I took a kettle bell class and love the energy and FUN that Jon brought to the session! He broke down complex kettle bell movements providing progressions of each movement to meet each person in the group where they were at. Really great environment and newly renovated space. As a fitness professional, I highly recommend Strength Haus to anyone looking to improve their strength, athleticism, kettle bell skills, barbell skills, and more!!

I never used kettlebells until a little over a year ago, and have been so thankful to learn how to use them. Such a tremendous exercise. Additionally the gym has a barbell class, which provided me with the confidence and instruction to deadlift, squat and bench on my own. Today I tried a power and conditioning class and was blown away and loved it. The strength haus team is amazing and accommodating to all fitness levels and will help you towards your goals; between kettlebell, barbell classes, power & conditioning, private classes and semi private classes you will learn from some of the best and most importantly be confident in your approach to fitness.

I very quickly became addicted to coming here. The workouts are fun and challenging — enough repetition that you can see progress and enough variety to keep things interesting. Instruction is very thorough and helpful, and they notice when you improve not just in strength but also in skill and technique. The coaches clearly love what they do and are excited about helping you get stronger. The community vibes are strong.

Also, after just a few months of regular attendance random people are complimenting my arm muscles all the time, so that doesn’t hurt! 😆💪🏼

I vetted out numerous gyms and strength coaches all throughout the city looking for the next best fit for personal training and overall workout classes. I met with Jon, his staff, and did a quick walk through of Strength Haus and immediately was bought in. Jon and his staff are are extremely knowledgeable and it is true what every review says, they make working out fun. The community and atmosphere they have built is truly something special. Don't let all the smiles and dancing fool you, these folks work you. But in the best possible way. Could not recommend this place any higher.

Every time I come in, strength training feels like a special occasion. The coaches and community are incredibly supportive and welcoming, everybody cares to do well, a few people (myself included) care to dance between sets and have fun :), and the synergy of these things makes for such a good time. I've been following this initiative since the early uncertain days of pandemic, which is to say, from the very beginning, and I am in awe of what the owners and staff have accomplished. Can't wait to see how they grow and evolve and can't wait for another class. If you are in Philly and haven't tried it yet, you are missing out. If you are visiting Philly, it is worth stopping by! Maybe you'll begin to want to move here :)

I met Jon and co. through my membership at Juniper Muay Thai, their sister gym. I'll be the first to admit that I have always been negative about strength training (and I have many witnesses who can tell you how I have complained my way through workouts). I can honestly say training with the SH team is the first time I have ever found strength training fun. Their community is so empowering. Since I have been taking their classes consistently, I have gotten so much stronger. I am much more confident in my ability to pick up heavy things and move them around. Try a class - you won't regret it!

I was SO happy to hear that my favorite coaches opened up their own space this year! This place is special and so much more than just your average gym or your average workout. The programming is amazing, the coaches are so passionate and some of the best people you will meet. As hard as they workout they also love to have fun with class and dance around, blast music and make sure everyone is also having a good time (also big shout out to their pre workout stash of candy cubby which is always full of fun assortments). They work with everyone at every skill level from beginner to advanced and help you to do your best every class. It’s honestly the best gym community I’ve been a part of!

I just completed my first class at the new Strength Haus location this morning. It was awesome. It's a great workout, obviously, integrating strength, flexibility, and balance. John and Molly are incredible and experienced Kettlebell instructors.

Whether it's your first time or 100th they have something to offer you.

The workouts are well paced in a great space, that will leave you with a full body soreness. It is a new gym but already there is a sense of community curated by the coaches and team.

I love Strength Haus! Somehow the classes manage to be both very serious and very fun, with a focus on welcoming people wherever they are at in their strength building journey. Excellent, nuanced instruction and lots of good vibes. Highly recommend both for beginners and for experienced Kettlebellers.

I also really appreciate how you do not have to sign a lengthy contract. Instead, you pay month to month, and the prices are very affordable. That's extremely unusual and very cool.

I could wax poetic about the crew at Strength Haus forever, but my review in a nutshell: they offer tough but genuinely fun workouts in a fiercely inclusive space, with talented trainers who are also funny, multifaceted, and friendly people in general. If that sounds like your vibe, you’ll like it here!

Before I go deeper, I’ll share a little about me so you can decide how relevant this review is to your interests: After over a decade of starting and stopping fitness regimens, a handful of gyms, several fitness phases (anyone remember Kayla Itsines?? I hope she’s doing well), and shelling out for personal training and small group personal training… I’ve learned what works for me and what doesn’t. I know I like group classes (personal training is too much attention 😅) and I know that planning my own workouts isn’t my thing (my brain is chronically “on” in every other aspect of my life, so working out is not something I care to be particularly hands-on about). I work out primarily because it’s good for my body physically and mentally, and getting stronger is cool af. I don’t enjoy the intensity, condescension, or upselling that often come with the fitness industry.

In short, working out is not my WHOLE LIFE, though it’s something I know I will need and want to do for my whole life. I appreciate spaces that don’t make me feel guilty about that and trainers who I trust and actually enjoy spending time with. At the same time, I’ve picked up quite a bit over my years of personal/small group training, so I’m also not a noob and I know good training when I experience it (and vice versa). With that in mind, I also think you’d enjoy it if you do love to nerd out on strength training and are interested in mixing up your routine, as I know the coaches here would be delighted to get into it with you.

Lastly, if you’re new to kettlebell workouts and feel intimidated, rest assured you are in good hands here. The trainers will coach you through all the movements, so don’t worry about feeling lost and embarrassed for an hour straight (like I did the one time and only time I tried a Zumba class). In my opinion kettlebells are more fun and feel somehow simultaneously harder and easier/simpler than dumbbells and other weightlifting equipment, though they do have those things too if/when you’re into that. I also appreciate their partnership with Juniper Muay Thai for other types of classes, since I enjoy a little variety — I especially love yoga/pilates, but I’ve also dabbled in kickboxing in the past.

I’ve been a member at a popular gym in Philly for 5 years and I thought I’d never leave, but joining Jon and the Strength Haus team on this new adventure was a no-brainer for me. The classes are fun but a serious workout and I genuinely enjoy spending time with the people who gravitate to this community.

Awesome gym with *amazing* instructors who teach and show you how to lift with kettlebells with a great, welcoming vibe. The classes get us lifting strong and lifting heavy (safely).

Strength Haus also has barbells and power racks for loading up plates for all your regular lifts. So easy to schedule a session and make sure you aren't fighting for a bar. It's been great so far!

Can't wait to spend the year lifting heavy bells with Molly, Jon, and the rest of the strength Haus trainers.
