I drop in for Mysore classes when I am in town. The senior teacher is extremely experienced, and she has built up a great Ashtanga community. You can tell her students have been coming for years and respect her. They follow a pre-Sharath style that I really like (full body adjustments). It’s a traditional Mysore style, which I absolutely love. Nothing beats an in-person class with an experienced yoga teacher giving great adjustments.

I always learn something new when I visit Sun Dog Yoga Studio. I am looking forward to my next visit :)

I had tried a very different style of yoga at Sun Dog Yoga Studio for one of their Foundations of Yin Workshops.

Yin Yoga is a meditation based slow-paced style of yoga where “postures are held for more extended periods- anywhere from one to five minutes.”

I have tried so many different styles of workouts, and to be honest, yoga isn’t one of my favorites because I have such a hard time shutting my brain off and think of all the things I need to be doing. However, the day that I took this workshop, I had attended after already completing an hour of Barre and an hour of Pilates, so the long stretches felt absolutely incredible. Plus the instructor, Jess, did a fantastic job at walking us through everything in a way that kept my focus the entire time.

It was wonderful to discover a form of yoga that worked with me, and I am excited to go back again in the future

Extremely knowledgeable and personable teachers that know the correct way to perform the moves, and actively assist you as you go. They always offer alternative moves, and take the time to make sure each student is getting the best possible experience and benefit. A+

I've been attending classes at Sun Dog yoga studio for almost a year now.
They mainly showcase Ashtanga style practice, but also have Vinyasa classes. The studio itself and its professional instructors create a great friendly vibe, while focusing on teaching yoga to all levels. The instructors are obviously knowledgeable and spend time with each student during class to enhance their practice. Instructors are always available to answer questions and give advice. The studio also offers various workshops and other events to expand yoga knowledge. I can say without a doubt that my practice has been enhanced by attending classes here at Sun Dog.

My daughter gave me a private yoga session as a gift. The studio was beautiful, the staff welcoming, and Meredith our instructor, was fantastic. As a beginner, I appreciated her attention to detail making sure that I did the poses correctly. She tailored the session nicely to my ability. I highly recommend you check out the facility if you're in the area.

I came to Sun Dog Yoga when I registered for the 6-week Yoga Basics Series. Shari was my teacher and she was amazing. She was really awesome about keeping a slow pace and giving easy modifications for almost every pose. Each class she added more poses to the Ashtanga flow. The class size was was small and intimate, so Shari was able to give each of us a lot of personalized attention. She also taught us the opening chant.

I have since "graduated" from the Yoga Basics course and started taking Ashtanga Foundations classes in the evenings. The Monday night class with Erica was a little crowded (maybe a dozen yogis), so I felt cramped after my intimate experience with the Yoga Basics course. Erica as a teacher was great (I wasn't used to such a fast pace)! She acknowledged that I was new and paid close attention to my poses.

The Sunday evening class with Meredith/Cassie was more intimate with 5 yogis (surprisingly, mostly men). We opened the class with the opening chant and there was enough time to work on some hip opening poses towards the end. I left this class feeling high on life.

The studio itself is quaint and homey. The area where you leave your shoes can get a bit crowded between classes. The atmosphere is immediately calming with quiet music, incense, candles, water fountains and an altar. There is a second room for meditation and I'm guessing massage. There are two bathrooms as well. Yoga mats and other accessories are available for purchase on site.
