I've been absolutely loving my sessions with Tara! I've always had trouble sticking with workout programs, but with her, my motivation has increased tenfold. I’m so happy I found Train & Nourish! I have been taking weekly classes for 3 months and they have felt really productive without feeling overwhelming. My trainer Olivia has been incredibly helpful and motivating. I was concerned about starting weight lifting due to joint pain issues I have but Olivia is always conscientious of that when planning and throughout the workouts and that helps me to relax and actually enjoy the workout. Kelly is the first trainer I've worked with after deciding to start strength training in my 40s. I was pretty nervous about not just working with a trainer for the first time, but also in switching to weights after a background in mostly cardio. I was a complete beginner to using the equipment, working on reps, and finding my proper form.

Kelly made it all feel very accessible, and even fun. She's always happy to talk through an exercise so I can understand what muscles should be working, what my body should be doing, and where I should be feeling it. She's also never anything less than patient, encouraging, and even funny when I'm flat on the floor and need a laugh. I was worried about my issues with hypermobility and slow recovery from injury, and Kelly made sure I felt heard and supported with any concern.

Kelly is also a great trainer in general, I was really impressed by not just how much we covered in every session but her attention to detail in making sure there's a mix of exercises we've done before, so I can see how I've improved, and new exercises to challenge me and make sure I don't get bored or complacent. I leave every session with her feeling like I've done good work, and I saw changes in my body within the first few weeks. Cannot recommend her enough.

Kelly is my girl! She pushes me in just the right way and mixes up my work outs so I am never bored. I really appreciate how she adds mobility and balance to my routines which are two things this middle aged gal needs to work on. I've never had a trainer do that. I HATE working out and she makes it fun. The other instructors appear lovely and skilled and the vibes are good. I agree with the commenter who complained about the cleanliness and the dog policy but neither thing deterred me.

My daughter and I having been training with Kelly H. for more than 6 months. She is an athlete - I am not. Nor have I ever been consistent with any type of work out. Kelly turned that around! For the first time in my life I looked forward to the gym. Kelly H did an amazing job of laying out a program for that was appropriate for me and my daughter, meeting us at our respective levels, didn't overwhelm me at the start (I kept coming back!), challenged me while also set me up for "wins" as we continued to train together. I've been going to T&N for over 4 years and working with Ais for 3 years. She is excellent at explaining the details of each new exercise, what muscle group you're working, how that move accomplishes it and what it does for your overall strength. She pays close attention to your form as you go through the moves and makes adjustments as necessary. She comes up with a new plan each month, customizes it as needed as you go through the program and tracks your progress. Though the studio looks small, I've never had to wait for equipment. They are continually adding equipment and upgrades to the space.

Training with Olivia has made me physically and mentally stronger! I was struggling with motivation and she puts together the perfect workouts every time. The circuit classes are also challenging and fun full body workouts, the trainers always help make sure you're in the right posture to avoid injury which has held me back at other gyms. Hooray for T&R on Passyunk, and an especial shout out to my trainer, Kelly. I had a history of joining a gym, going irregularly and haphazardly, hating it, and quitting. Got a wake-up call in middle age when I noticed that my overall strength was ebbing. I’m on my seventh month with Kelly, and look forward to my training sessions!
Kelly gained my trust by focusing on building solid form and stability for the first weeks, then adding weight in a steady and challenging-but-reasonable progression. Kelly always models each exercise, points out what to focus on and cautions what NOT to do. She pays careful attention to how I execute and corrects me promptly if I am straying into an unsafe of less targeted range of motion. I am grateful for her watchfulness and how she mixes up the exercises to keep me challenged. Kelly's positivity is infectious, too. I’m excited that I’m making measurable progress, stand taller, and feel better.
I like the intimacy and cleanliness of the studio, and the quality of the equipment. An all-women setting wasn’t a priority for me initially, but now I appreciate T&R’s unpretentious and safe atmosphere.

I’ve always been hesitant about gym-joining or gym-going, for the usual reasons: worries about not fitting in or encountering the cliquey vibes that are sometimes the default in boutique fitness spaces. But from the moment I walked into T&N, I felt completely at ease. For the last seven months, I’ve been doing weekly personal training sessions with Erin (Passyunk location), and I’ve always felt extremely welcomed and supported.

I’ve never stuck with an exercise routine this long before, and that’s entirely thanks to Erin (who is the absolute best!) and the incredible training programs she and the rest of the T&N trainers create. They know how to challenge and encourage you in exactly the right way.

They have a sign outside the studio that says something like, “today’s a great day to pick up something heavy,” (could be wrong on the wording, don't quote me on that) and every time I do, I leave feeling stronger, healthier, and super proud of myself. If you’re looking for a gym where you’ll feel empowered and supported every step of the way, I can’t recommend T&N enough!

I’ve been a T&N client for nearly 2 years and I am so thankful for this space! My current trainer, Marta, is a total badass and I am so proud of what I’ve achieved while training with her. She’s incredibly knowledgeable in physical therapy and body mechanics, and always takes the time to demonstrate the proper movements and explain the goal of each exercise. When I was working through an injury, she adjusted our workout and made sure that I knew how to properly rest and rehab my body between sessions. I am so glad that I got to work with Marta and will miss her a bunch when she heads to new opportunities next month.

I’ve been going to Train and Nourish - East Passyunk for over a year now. I started out doing group classes to get myself back in the rhythm after not consistently going to the gym for a while. Classes are a great way to get started but once I started doing 1:1 training, I really started to see and feel a difference. Marta Tsikitas has been by far one of my favorite and best trainers that I have had over the years. We focused on form and doing the work the right way which has significantly helped reduce injury. Not only that, everyone’s body is different and she is the first trainer that I have had that has been able to adjust my form based on my body. I am incredibly happy to have been able to work with Marta and incredibly sad to see her go (but on to new and exciting adventures). Train and Nourish is such a great place for women who want to learn how to lift weights without the hassle of worrying what anyone else in the gym is thinking. My trainer, Marta Tsikitas, has been really a great support system in boosting my confidence in my ability to make my body do things that it usually has a difficult time doing. She has strong expertise in weight training and physical movement. Simple things like jumping up and down, and getting up and down from the floor were hard to tackle before I started training with her, and now because of her thoughtful techniques and patience in building a program that works for me specifically, I can get up and down from the floor with ease. I can bench press from the lowest position. I am lifting 20lb weights and bench pressing 40lbs on a good day. :) After cancer treatment I found excess weight even harder to shake off, my primary physician recommended that I add weight training to my exercise routine. At first I thought my doctor was crazy because I never imagined I could lift weights. But, she was right, and weight training as made a world of difference. The weight has been coming down slowly, but the proof has been in the way my clothes fit better. Most importantly, my blood pressure and blood work has improved greatly, as has my confidence in my ability to move my body, even in this larger frame. I would highly recommend Train and Nourish for anyone who isn't certain they would be comfortable trying weight training. I am especially thankful to my trainer Marta, for challenging me when she knew she should, and for her ability to know when to pull back when she sees I am at my limit. 10/10

T&N meets you where you are on your fitness journey and helps you achieve your goals. I started with T&N at the beginning (almost 5 years ago to the day), when I was trying to get back into fitness and feel good on my wedding day (mission accomplished). T&N has remained a constant for me since then - when I was trying to maintain a fitness routine after the wedding, when I had to figure out work travel and working out, when I had to do physical therapy during a pandemic, when I fell off my fitness journey, and when I got back up. The environment is welcoming and empowering, whatever your fitness level. All the trainers create a comfortable place where you can ask questions, learn form and new exercises, and work on your fitness goals. It is where I go to destress and dedicate time for me during the week. Best decision I made fitness-wise and it will be for you too!

As a personal trainer and group fitness lover I was very excited to try out this gym from the beautiful website. A friend and I tried the strength and stretch class, but save your money this isn’t worth it! Detailed review below:
The pros:
-Women only
-Small group
-No checking if you actually registered so really you could just step into the class for free
The cons:
-This place was FILTHY and run down. I mean the floor of Walmart is much cleaner than this place. Dog hair everywhere and literal grime on the floors that they expect you to sit, lay, and crawl on, hope you’re no allergic to dogs cause there was no indication that there could be a pet in the space.
-The “trainer” lacked confidence, knowledge, and passion. She did not welcome us into the gym. There was no explanation of the class and there was for sure 3 new people out of ~10. She provided no corrections or options to increase the challenges. She did not speak loud and only stated remaining time on the intervals. No motivational encouragement provided.
-The music was good but not loud enough to cover the thoughts of “This workout sucks how much time is left?”
-Speaking of intervals this is a 1 minute per exercise rotation class with NO time between stations so in order to evenly distribute lateral movements you have to watch the clock. Also you have rush between stations and step over the person who was previously on the station.
-The workout itself had no focus in muscle group nor properly distributed a “full” body workout.

I could go on and on but the fact this gym is charging $30 a drop in class is insane! Die yourself a favor and go to target and buy a weight set and turn on YouTube at home and you will get in a better workout in a cleaner space!

I definitely recommend T&N for anyone looking to improve their fitness The studio is welcoming and beautiful. All of the trainers know their stuff and work with a wide range of clients. I’ve gotten so much stronger since working with them. I most do personal sessions, but I’ve also done the classes which are super efficient for a great workout. Definitely check it out!

Just finished 5 weeks of 1:1 training with Kianna. I have fibromyalgia and was nervous about getting hurt, but Kianna was super thorough and made sure to check in with me during each exercise and make any modifications for pain. She’s also good at keeping up conversation so you don’t focus on how much you’re struggling lol Love that she counts reps for you too. Each session was different. It’s a small studio, but there was never more than 1 other personal training session going on in addition to mine.

This gym is all personal training and classes. Well equipped and with a great team. I've been working out with Maddie and seeing a ton of progress in how much I can lift and stamina. The whole training staff is awesome - I worked out with Aislinn for a few weeks and had such a great experience with her as well. Highly recommend this place for someone getting back into workouts or trying to level up.

I've been working with RaGina since I was 8 weeks postpartum after my first child. I was an avid work out fan before but I knew that unless I worked with someone, I wouldn't make the time for me in this new life with a child. RaGina has been a crucial part in me feeling like my old self again after delivery! Before having my son I was at the gym multiple times a week. After I had my covid baby, I didn’t feel comfortable going to a crowded gym. I started 1 hr personal training sessions 3X per week with Laura Do. Before T and N, I had just finished 8 weeks of physical therapy for an extremely painful frozen shoulder that was in early stages of unfreezing. I decided it was time now to focus on strength training for both shoulders and whole body. I felt very welcomed at T and N and I am lucky to be working with the very talented Laura Do. My right shoulder is still unfreezing but I have made huge leaps in range of motion and strength in the 6 weeks so far of working with Laura. The once constant pain on my right shoulder and arm is at a minimum now. I am motivated and inspired by working with Laura!

Laura is experienced, knowledgeable, friendly and personable. Laura is kind, jubilant, motivating and supportive. She tailors the routines of each session to specific client goals, concerns, needs with awareness of current limitations. Sessions are well thought out and adapted as needed. The each session’s circuits are invigorating and focus on strength training using various equipment, resistance and includes cardio. Laura provides feedback on form and asks how I am feeling throughout the session; she is an excellent listener. Laura clearly communicates information on muscle groups and demonstrates and checks for correct form. Each session is the right amount of challenge. I look forward to each session and Laura motivating me to do more. At T and N there are no fees or fixed monthly costs. Personal Training is booked by the session. The studio is well equipped. It is on East Passyunk, easy to walk to or parking in the city lot nearby.

I joined T&N in Jan 2020 because I loved their business model. No monthly fees, just Personal Training and group fitness, which is PERFECT for me! I need someone to tell me what to do! AND online booking!! I am SO glad I joined, and I was glad that I had their virtual workouts to get me through the lockdown!

I've been going back in person since becoming fully vaccinated in May 2021, and T&N is my everything! I love the trainers and the classes, and the energy we get from one another. Working out with them has improved not just my fitness and health, but my mental health as well!

Highly recommend for women of all exercise skill levels - T&N is the best! I have been doing the group classes at the Passyunk location since they opened in 2019 and am never disappointed! The trainers: Jenna, RaGina and Lindsay are all so knowledgeable about muscle groups and work out equipment and are very skilled at grading an exercise up or down for a perfect challenge. When I started working out here, I had never touched a barbell, did not know what a TRX was and would have been embarrassed to try either at a gym. Through group classes at T&N I’ve gained so much confidence in myself and in my ability to work out safely and independently.
The all-women studio vibe couldn’t be better. All of the people in group classes are so supportive of each other and it adds an extra element in addition the help of the instructors.
As the owner, Jenna takes COVID-19 precautions very seriously in order to keep everyone safe, including following CDC and city of Philadelphia recommendations and mandates as well as maintaining clean equipment throughout each workout and offering online training options.

Obsessed with T&N. Been attending group classes since 2019 with Jenna, Lindsay, and RaGina. Every instructor pays close attention to your skill level and truly wants you to be the best you can be, inside and outside of the gym. They will push you and make your confidence sky rocket!! I joined T&N about 2 months ago, personal training with Leah 2-3 times a week and going to classes once or twice a week, and have had a fantastic experience. Leah is a great trainer, the studio is clean and bright, and the classes are always a good balance between challenging and achievable (regardless of your level of fitness). Leah tailors each of my training sessions to my abilities, while continually pushing me, and I’ve gotten measurably stronger since training with her. I’ve gone to classes led by a few different trainers and enjoyed all of them. If you work full-time the class schedule can be a little challenging to work around, but the classes are absolutely worthwhile and a good value if you can make the times work for you. The atmosphere at the gym is welcoming, non-judgemental, and supportive - I highly recommend Train and Nourish (and Leah).
