I’m extremely frustrated with my experience at Urge Fitness. No one ever told me I couldn’t bring a guest, and I’ve personally seen other members bring guests in without any problem. But when I tried, the staff member stopped us and said the only way my guest could come in was if he signed up for a full membership right then and there. That made absolutely no sense and to be honest, it really felt like she refused us because of how me and my guest looked, not because of any rule. I have membership at Fusion, LA & Planet - Never had any issues with communication.

I was so upset and uncomfortable that I decided to cancel my membership on the spot. The worst part? The same employee who gave me my original tour had no idea how to even process a cancellation. The whole experience was unprofessional and left a really bad taste in my mouth.

I joined this gym thinking it was a welcoming place, but after this, I’ll never recommend Urge Fitness to anyone.

So many negative things I don’t know where to begin. You have to wait to get inside if you’re working out in non club hours because the “ APP “ doesn’t work. Your time is not important because the manager can’t keep appointments. To cancel you have to make appointments and get notarized letters explaining why you’re canceling your membership. The manager is only available nine to five Monday through Friday. The staff is also very unprofessional and the list goes on and on and on and on times infinity .

The logo is "less crowds" but immediately when you go in, there is a big sign "this is a high volume gym" and it shows. Signing up requires 20 minute wait time, cost more extra for 24/7 hours access, and staffs emphasize "we prioritize appointments" model before any assistance. Very aggressive behavior and antagonistic behavior towards new clients who haven't signed up.

Looking for a place with all types of fitness equipment, a variety of classes for varying abilities, and great workers and trainers…this is it.

I’ve only been going for a short time but am slowly seeing results and have people and resources there to make sure I reach my goals.

This gym is beautiful, sleek, and CLEAN! It has all the equipment you need that are top of the line (the cardio machines can connect to your smart watch and you can watch TV or play solitaire!).
The staff is friendly, there are showers, a sauna, personal training, childcare, and it's 24/7/365 access.
This is the perfect place to join if you're looking for a community that will help you reach you health goals! You've got this!

This gym has always been a wonderful place and has held a spot in my heart since it was originally you fit and I love that this is the progression it has taken. It feels like a second home. Everyone is nice. The energy is nice to me and my Gym group, a.k.a. the Aesthetic Vanity Have all taken a liking to this gym and has had no complaints whatsoever with equipment, the energy and the community that the gym gives everyone whether your fat skinny small tall short, doesn’t matter, cause everyone there has the same mindset And that should just make themselves a bit better than they were the day before So to make a long story, short urge fitness, not only makes you have the urge to be fit, but it makes you have the urge to be better. Gym Review: URGE Fitness – Olney, Philadelphia

As a fitness influencer who travels across Philly and Jersey reviewing gyms for the fit fam, I pride myself on delivering honest, unpaid, no-fluff insight into the gyms I visit—the good, the bad, and the questionable. Recently, I had the chance to stop by the brand new URGE Fitness location in the Olney section of Philadelphia.

First Impressions:☕️
When you walk in, you’re greeted by the unmistakable energy of “new.” Clean space, sleek setup, fresh equipment it’s visually promising. I was warmly welcomed by a young woman at the front desk who was not only professional but genuinely helpful. She answered all my questions about membership fees, what’s included, and more. Shoutout to her yes, one for the girls!

Where It Took a Turn: 🚩
Unfortunately, things shifted when I was introduced to the manager or supervisor on duty. When I asked about services like childcare and other amenities, I was met with arrogance and a dismissive attitude. Rather than offering helpful alternatives or basic customer service, his tone became flat-out disrespectful. As someone who visits gyms not just as a potential member but also as a representative of a large fitness community, this was a red flag.

The same young woman from the front desk stepped back in to finish the tour. While the gym itself isn’t massive, it’s more than enough to get a solid workout in especially if you’re short on time. Clean, organized, and functional. But sometimes, atmosphere starts with people, not just aesthetics.

If you’re looking for a new gym home, my advice is this: do your homework. Read real reviews, talk to current members, and make sure you feel seen and respected before locking into a contract. For some, URGE Fitness in Olney might be the right fit—but for others who value professionalism and a welcoming vibe from management, it might be a miss.

Philadelphia has plenty of gyms ready to welcome you with open arms. Find the one that fits your fitness goals and your values.

I’m really disappointed with the unprofessionalism at this gym. For starters, they originally advertised that they would be open by a certain date, but ended up opening over a month later without clear communication or proper updates. That alone showed a lack of organization and respect for the people who were waiting and planning around their timeline.

But what’s even more concerning is the behavior inside the gym. Some of the male staff or regulars seem to enjoy going back and forth in arguments with female members. It’s uncomfortable, unprofessional, and creates a toxic atmosphere. Rather than resolving things maturely or respectfully, these interactions often feel confrontational and disrespectful.

A gym should be a safe, welcoming environment for everyone—not a place where women feel like they’re being talked down to or drawn into unnecessary conflicts.

Management really needs to do better on both communication and setting a standard of professionalism across the board.

Nice gym from the little I seen ..staff unprofessional, not welcoming ,you get greeted better at planet fitness . Not giving a tour, but wanting people to sign up is just crazy to me. Received an email for 3 free day trial but when I got to the location, they told me they didn’t do that stated” They’re not trying to have those type of people in their gym, That just wanna come for a free trial” ohhhhh okay 😅. But not giving a tour was just weird . (He told me to go online and look at the virtual tour no one was busy. I was there in flesh. 😆 Why couldn’t I just get the tour there? I counted 3ppl in total working out)I hope it lasts Workers need customer service training . I also didn’t like how they just assumed that I needed a discount to join and throwing the cost at me…. money has nothing to do with it(But I was being stereotype by my own kind 🥲)

URGE FITNESS is a phenomenal place to achieve your fitness goals. The place is clean, professional staff are always there to help you. The equipment is state of the art. No crowds, or lunks dropping weights, grunting and screaming. I love this place 💪🏿🏋🏿💪🏿

I have to change my review here. The staff got everything sorted for me and fully explained their membership terms. I've signed up and I am really happy so far.

Still waiting for everything to get up and running to 100% but that's to be expected when just opening. I have had a couple training sessions and they were great.

I've been going to Urge Fitness in Olney since they’ve opened & The gym is always clean & well maintained, and equipped with everything I need from free weights and machines to cardio equipment. Combined that with the front desk at the community Alliance, telling me he witnessed a few things already with an employee- already,
Reported it to corporate, and corporate email back was basically gas lighting him, vs being ACCOUNTABLE and acknowledging and honoring his experience.
I'm good.
Hard pass.
I STRONGLY suggest yall do the research on this gym chain.
As far as the Olney comment-
Saying the plaza safe bc police patrols-
Suggest you don't live in the area, and you don't have the citizens app- where alerts are always being reported in the plaza and immediate area,
WITH police there-
There has been car jackings (soo much so police had to put out a community memo about elderly being targeted for car jacking in that plaza)
Shootings have gone in that plaza.
Mugginggs,
Looting,
And police injured on duty.
So yes, one must be mindful and alert when in that plaza.
