Have been going here for a little over a year and couldn't be happier. Equipment is as good as it gets for powerlifting training, members are friendly and helpful for advice, and the programming offered by Brian has gotten me stronger than any point in my 50+ years of life.

I started training at this gym on a complete whim. My husband had been programmed by Brian Reed for a few months at this point and I was starting to get jealous of his new hobby lol. I was intimidated by weight lifting and everything I thought I knew about the kind of people who train this way. I was completely wrong of course. Everyone at VIP is so helpful and genuinely there to better themselves and the people around them. I have lost weight, gained confidence and found out a lot about myself in the process. Brian has the experience and the degrees to back up everything he implements there. Emily goes out of her way to help keep you on track and showing up for yourself. I have always felt safe and valued at VIP Barbell and as a plus size person that says a lot.

VIP Barbell is a special place. Brian's knowledge and coaching is truly superior to anyone else whom I've ever worked with. He's stocked VIP with equipment you won't find any where else. (Monoliths, belt squat, reverse hyper...) And it's clean too!
I've been a member since Oct. 2015 and seriously grateful every time I walk into this amazing gym and experience Brian's personal coaching. He has taken me from "hitching queen" to 3rd in the world dead lift for my age and weight class.
The atmosphere is truly friendly and supportive too. No need to let these beefy man-beasts intimidate you! I'm a 68 year old 118 pound grandmother so ANYONE who is interested in improving their fitness, lifting or strength-VIP is the place for you!

I've been going to VIP for the past 4 years on the advice of my daughters piano teacher who trains there. (and is the strongest piano teacher I've ever seen)
I was looking to get more fit and to get healthier to be able to perform better at my job as a doctor of chiropractic.
I can check both boxes off as both have come true. I started there weighing a "soft" 210 pounds at age 51, and I am now a fit 55 year old187 pounder.
To say this is a powerlifting gym, would be a disservice to VIP.
However, on any given day when you walk in you will see dedicated members following the "program" that Brian (the owner) has designed for them. Ages of the members range from early teens to mid 90's.
I can go on and on about the intangibles of VIP, but what I can say is that I have met my "tribe" and have made lifelong friends there, some of whom are no longer members, but our shared experience bonds us together.
If you are looking for results, and I mean REAL results in your current health and fitness levels, don't hesitate to contact them.
You will encounter like minded members who will support you in your quest for health strength and fitness.
Hope to see you there.

Besides all the amazing equipment you can’t find anywhere else and the crazy amount of knowledge and experience Brian has training competitive athletes what makes this gym special is that Brian has created a welcoming and open community where we all push each other to achieve our goals and have a lot of fun doing it!
Also vending machine has a great selection and fair pricing I would give it 6/5 stars and pretty good WiFi.

I started coming to VIP on day passes to use some equipment I couldn’t fine elsewhere. That quickly turned into me joining as a full member and eventually hiring Brian for my coaching in December of 2018. The gym is full of top of the line equipment and members. Brian’s coaching has enabled me to be stronger while keeping focus on health and recovery.

This gym is not just a gym, it's a home with a great family. Everyone is 100% different but we all help each other, especially Brian! Brian is top notch when it comes to coaching and teaching. He's very patient and will walk you through every exercise and find your best fit program. If you're serious about training or competing in any kind of sport, this is the place to be. Brian has years of experience and will take you to the top. Don't hesitate, come here and learn from the best!

I trained at VIP during my competitive years, from about 2015-2020. This is one of the best if not the best training facility for strength and power in the state. Under Brian I trained for many meets and become stronger than I thought possible. In 2018, Brian peaked my training for the York PA State meet. This resulted in me winning my class. I’ve learned a lot from the members here- there are many experienced folks that are silent professionals. This gym has been host to national champions and at times, world champions. If you want to get strong, train here.

VIP Barbell is a safe, fun, and amazing environment to work out in! From the amazing coaching and programming to the state of the art equipment. As high school athlete I’d highly recommend anyone who wants to get into to fitness have VIP Barbell at the top of their list to check out! The knowledge of Brian is amazing and I’ve learned so much from him as my trainer! There is also a family aspect to the gym as everyone there wants to lift you up, and have you be the best YOU can be! 10/10 Gym!!

I’ve been a member here since September 2020 and I can say that VIP is top notch compared to other gyms for strength training in any facet. The owner has devoted his life to understanding and implementing his practices and it shows. I personally train with a couple of his clients (and along side others) and can say that they have grown leaps and bounds in the short time I’ve been there. The equipment is top of the line, from powerlifting to strongman to general fitness, you can find anything that you could ever need. All in all, I couldn’t recommend this gym and Brian (owner) enough to anyone in any stage of their fitness journey.

I hired Brian to train me for a strongman comp 8 weeks before it. Not only did he get me where I need to be he went beyond that. He got back to me (texting) in a good timely manner when I was training on the weekends solo and even on his vacation he got back to me with answers to all my random questions. To top all things off we had finished our training and he still came out and supported me at my comp (which was over a hour away). If you are looking for a friendly local gym I highly recommend VIP! I already plan on hiring him again for my next comp!

I've been training at VIP Barbell going on two years now and am very thankful that a barbell club like this exists in Newtown, Bucks County. There is plenty of equipment (racks/benches/etc.) so that you can always access what you need for your training program. The hours are very flexible and I can come and workout early in the AM or late at night after work. And Brian has really worked to make it a welcoming and safe community of people to train around - there are members from all walks of life, novice to competitive lifters - and he is always happy to offer a spot or words of advice/encouragement. The other members are always eager to help each other out as well. I really look forward to training, and going to VIP has become an essential part of my routine - definitely would recommend.

I've been in bucks county for most of my life. For the past 7 years I've been coaching CrossFit at several gyms in the area. I decided it was time to try something new, and stumbled across VIP Barbell. The equipment in there is of the highest quality as far as strength sports go. It feels like recess every training session. Brian has been doing my programming and I am always excited to come in and train. The community is top notch, welcoming and inclusive. I feel quite lucky to have a gym of this caliber in my hometown. Brian is extremely knowledgeable in all things strength, and has been an excellent resource for me. I've just started there but am looking forward to a long fun future of training.

I’ve been training at VIP with Brian for over two years now and a lifelong resident of Newtown, PA. This is by far the best gym I’ve been to not only in terms of the state of the art equipment that you can’t find elsewhere but the training programs Brian has implemented. As a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu athlete he has always understood the proper ways to maximize my training and fine tune my program to reach my goals. I can’t recommend this place enough. Come check it out if you’re looking to get up your game whether it be strength, weight loss, weight gain, sport, anything and Brian will help you get there!

I have been a competitive powerlifter at this gym training under Brian Reed since September 2015. I have brought in many records and clients into the business. The equipment is certainly top of the line for sure. However over this past year Brian’s lack of focus and general disinterest, as evident in his coaching and programming, has been of concern to many of his clients. I was forced to seek a remote coach in November and Many clients have left for this and other reasons. On 4/27 he implemented a “no sports bra” dresscode policy via social media. This was a sudden change and never communicated via proper channels to the general membership (email). I felt specifically targeted and after months of hostility I was told i could leave if i didn’t like it. The post has since been removed of course. Unprofessional, hostile and discriminatory in the guise of “appropriate gym attire”. This is the tip of an iceberg with what’s happening there. I fear retaliation for this review and that speaks volumes.
