been to a lot of studios of all kinds of yoga, and theres no place like this. for me, yoga is a practice in connection of the body and this studio is the only one that deeply abides to this concept ive found. the studio is accommodated as such - the lights are bright for total lucidity of your movements and presence of self, theres no music or long winded interludes from the instructors distracting your embodiment, and of course the heat is very consistent. these are all there to encourage the kind of growth that i dont think is as deeply engineered throughout all the presentations and details of other studios
the instructors understand the affirmations come from the body in the practice. which isnt to say they dont say things between and within postures, but its always in poetic strides that feel symbolic to the body movements occurring in the poses rather than shallow platitudes about peace and acceptance or whatever. saying that as someone thats frankly very skeptical and uncomfortable regarding american yoga culture and marketing, ive never felt anything the instructors say to be disingenuous or indoctrinating for a brand or lifestyle. i have my own devotion of spirit and its a major attribute of respect and inclusion in my opinion in how they keep such a specific tone in their classes and interactions with students
speaking of inclusion, ive taken all kinds of queer and non-athletic bodied people and theyve all had a unanimously positive experience. however i will echo what ive seen in some reviews of (few) instructors singling people out for drinking water or needing to take a break. ive been doing this for years and have a pretty good practice down, but theres still many times i need to break these rules and would agree its uncalled for to callout specific people, especially newcomers. but i know it comes from them trying to encourage persistence, since even just sitting in that room youre gaining momentum in body consciousness, exercise of breath, getting used to the heat, etc. as an instructor in all athletics, its a difficult balance to read where your students limits are and when you need to pull back
this studio has done an incredible amount for me in so many parts of my life and i hope anybody that shares some of the weird sentiments i do to perhaps encourage them to think differently and try this out. it is worth so much more than is possible to write about

I did an intro month here. I liked most of my classes. I did find that certain teachers were elitist and ableist. I would not recommend for those looking for a warm/connective atmosphere. If competitive athletic yoga is your thing this studio might be for you.

Yoga Factory is an incredible community of dedicated individuals striving for personal growth. What sets this studio apart is the commitment of the teachers, who practice alongside you during every session. It's common to share the mat with experienced practitioners, and their enthusiasm for knowledge and improvement is truly inspiring. They foster an immersive and interactive environment, genuinely caring about proper form and discipline. My time here has taught me a great deal about myself, and I have immense admiration for both my teachers and fellow students.

I am so very glad to have found Yoga Factory! I enjoy some quality time with a very dear friend and get to spend some sacred time on my mat connecting with my body. The Hot 90 class is perfect for me at this part in my Yoga journey. All of the instructors at YF are amazing! Their encouragement and patient guidance throughout our practice is so helpful for me and so appreciated. This has become a very essential part of my self-care routine. β€οΈπ§ββοΈπ

I've been practicing for a couple of months at YogaFactory, and I think it is one of the best yoga I've ever tried. Not only the fact that I love the technique and the method they apply, but also the teachers who teach it. All the teachers I have taken classes with have a very particular style of teaching and are very detailed. You learn a lot from all of them. I appreciate the time that they take to make personal corrections, totally grateful to this school. Highly Recommended.

This was my first hot yoga studio, and Iβve learned so much from the instructors here. The classes are disciplined, which has personally helped me push myself further than I thought possible. The bright lighting is a nice touch, as it makes it easier to see yourself and make adjustments during practice. While classes can get busy, the studio does a fantastic job accommodating everyone.
I really appreciate the personalized callouts and corrections; theyβve been invaluable in improving my practice and getting the most out of each session. One highlight was attending a silent candlelit class on New Yearβs Eve (also my birthday!). Angeline, my favorite instructor, gave me a thoughtful shoutout, which made the experience even more special.
I highly recommend this studio to anyone looking to take their yoga practice seriouslyβitβs an incredible place to grow and improve!

Theyβre okay. The classes are fine, most of the teachers are alright but if you have a problem or are looking for a friendly community donβt expect much. Like most places, if you have an invisible disability or are neurodivergent youβre going to have a harder time fitting in and theyβre not super receptive to changing or improving their processes and instructions to be more inclusive. If you go in, do your thing and take the studio with a grain of salt you will have fun but if you are looking for a place you feel really seen and included you might be disappointed.

Great place to work out. I got in tremendous shape over a 3 month period. The teachers are friendly, knowledgeable and give helpful advice and guidance throughout the class. The juice bar out front is also must try! Once you go organic you can't go back.

My favorite yoga studio in Pittsburgh when I moved there. The teachers are gentle and compassionate. The studio has variety in classes, has good vibes and itβs clean. Going to classes regularly for hatha style yoga here helped my chronic pain, various auto immune disorders and helped calm my nervous calm. Highly recommended.

Iβve been going to YF in Lawrenceville and their Squirrel Hill location since January. I was 100% brand new to hot yoga and hadnβt done yoga in like 15 years. I went in by myself that first time and they were super friendly, warm, and welcoming in a genuine way. And they are that way with everyoneβold and new folks. If you donβt have a yoga mat or towel for your mat you can rent them there for cheap. They have great pricing for your first month, and then if you find yourself going 2 or more times a week (I now go 3-4 times) to either location the limitless membership is a great deal. In the classes are people of all ages, shapes, and skill level. The women in the locker room have also been very friendly and positive. Give it a try!

The yoga factory is phenomenal, the flow of the instructors is what makes it count, their encouragement, makes you want to come back for more....... since the pandemic I've only started my yogi practices for a month... I feel better in every sense of the word.
In this case more isn't just more... More is better! I am in my sixties and its important to stay limber and strong, Thank you Yoga Factory Team. Here are (5) more stars *****

What can I say? I'm not someone who would have considered yoga, but PYF has been fantastic, and is definitely helping me achieve some fitness goals. Instructors are encouraging and helpful- they'll make suggestions now and again about things you can adjust, but they also emphasize that yoga is n evolutionary practice. The whole place is very accepting of wherever you are in your fitness journey. Sure, there are folks in class who can fold themselves into pretzels and balance on the head of a pin, but for new folks, there is ZERO judgement - only encouragement from a great group of instructors and classmates to do what your body can do in that moment, and to come back again and do whatever you can the next time. Just an amazing environment in which to study this craft.

Iβve been attending classes since Dec, 2023.
Iβve enjoyed all the classes Iβve taken this far. The instruction is on point and cueing is given when need. Everyone is very welcoming and friendly. The studio is always clean and organized with the proper heat and humidifier setting which is a difficult task to be consistent with. Iβve been really enjoying the music class taught by Steven on Fridays, theyβre so much fun with great music.

I love the Yoga Factory in Pittsburgh. I have been going for around 4 years to a wide variety of their classes and workshops. This is a clean and peaceful environment to learn. I did have a lot of vinyasa experience prior to my first class. My friend that came with me did not. We both were able to start at our own levels of experience and knowledge with tons of support from the instructors. They take time to remember who you are and help you work on perfecting your technique. This is a judgement free zone that has all level yogi's practicing together. Don't be intimidated by the heat, take the first step for yourself to get started. You won't regret doing it here. I'm a lifelong member and plan on doing this as long as I physically can.

I've been practicing yoga regularly for about 16 years now. This is by far the best studio I've encountered, having the friendliest people, the most serious yet fun approach to the discipline, and the the best physical studio of any. Some of the instructors behave in ways that I find incompatible with a healthy yoga practice. People have been singled out and mocked in the middle of class for being perceived as different. I tried the place but the frequent off putting behavior of some instructors just got in the way.
I would not describe this one studio as an inclusive and safe one.

I have never done Yoga before, and I tried 2 of their classes and it was amazing. Myra and Angelica were my trainers and they were really great and knowledgeable. Since I was a beginner, they paid constant attention to my technique and corrected some of my poses. I felt calm and relaxed after both the classes, and not to mention, it was a great workout too. The facilities are clean and the general vibe is one of calm and peace. I am so happy that I tried out their classes and I intend to keep going there.

It was difficult to have an enjoyable class with the emanating smell of body odor. Some incense or essential oils could really help. The class, albeit challenging, was boring and repetitive. We held poses as in Yin yoga, although the class was listed as Vinyasa on the schedule. The expensive price at $20 for a drop-in was not worth what I got.

This is the first time I have been to the Yoga Factory in years. It was everything I remembered and more. The staff manages to be both personable and understandable. With the demands of the other students, they still gave me focused attention like a laser and accolades when I did well. They also did well to make the instructions accessible and lively for the learner.
I will try to remember them next time I make it to the city.

This is my favorite yoga studio in Pittsburgh! They offer a variety of classes at convenient hours. My favorite is their original hot 26&2 class.
This allows me to get the strength and flexibility that I love from heated yoga classes, as well as focusing and meditating on bettering myself and my body for 75 minutes. It's not an easy class and will take some discipline but I love that about it. It is the most well rounded exercise I've ever done
When I first found the yoga factory I was working a demanding job and needed to find something to help me find peace among chaos. Cue the 5:30 am yoga class! (Class now starts at 6)
Years later I brought my husband who had debilitating pack pain and now he swears by this practice. I even went while pregnant.
The staff is wonderful and encouraging, and the facility is clean and inspiring. They have locker rooms and showers too. Not to mention fresh juice and coconut water in the fridge for purchase after class!
10/10 I would recommend to any

Very unusual yoga studio that many people love. Very bright lights, no music, same routine every time so if youβre into that you will enjoy it. I canβt get down with the vibe here because of that and the discouraging of drinking water, using props or modifying poses. Instructor called me out in front of class and said I should consider getting a haircut if I want to practice yoga and a woman also nearly passed out and they aggressively stopped her from leaving. Just odd. I would rather go to an accessible all body types welcome class that encourages people to take breaks when they need it and not pressure them into what doesnβt work for their body.

Yoga factory is the best! I have been practicing here for 11 years. Iβve tried many other studios and styles of yoga, but keep coming back here. I started Bikram Yoga Pittsburgh with a groupon 10 years ago, and I haven't looked back since. I've dealt with arthritis in my knee for over 15 years and sciatica for 6 years. This is the only fitness program that has helped both! I love the heated rooms; the teachers are great mentors and motivators. The studio is beautiful, and they'e added a few new yoga classes including vinyasa and restoration which I am excited about! Bikram has helped me stay functional in my job; I work 12 hour days on my feet all day and I haven't had back or knee pain at my job since I've taken Bikram. I love it!

Yogis beware, this is a very rule focused yoga studio. You are not allowed to use props to find poses and instructors don't offer modifications. It's a great studio if you are very athletic/don't need poses explained or if you already know Bikram. I'd recommend staying away if you're looking for a more positive atmosphere though. If you're late or drink water at the wrong time you will get publicly called out by instructors.

I am disgusted by the way in which the instructors will verbally abuse and publicly humiliate its clients. I distinctly remember attending a class taught by founder and director, Zeb Homison, where he yelled at a woman for quietly collecting her belongings and leaving the class early, accusing her of interrupting the class with her "rude" departure. Actually, interrupting the class to publicly humiliate her was in fact distracting, cruel, and extremely unkind. And even worse and more unbelievable, nearly everyone in the class laughed. I was in shock. I later spoke to her in the changing room and she informed me that she was actually pregnant and was feeling ill.
Another time, I attended class with my apple watch. As somebody with an extreme case of the neurological disorder, epilepsy, it is crucial to monitor my seizures at all times. An epileptic must be cautious in hot temperatures as heat and dehydration may trigger a seizure. I genuinely enjoy hot yoga and for the most part it is safe for me to practice. However, I am aware of the risks involved with immersing myself in such extreme heated environments. The apple watch allows me to monitor my heart rate, as well as monitor my seizures with this app called "inspyre" which will notify you when it senses convulsive movements and will send an alert to a contact of choice in case a seizure occurs. Before class, I will of course be sure to turn off sounds notifications out of respect. There was a moment during the practice where I literally glanced at my watch after getting a vibrating notification from the app. And of course, an instructor yelled at me for "distracting" the class with my device. I was not talking, I was not loud, I was not bothering anybody. Rather, I was making sure that I was not about to fall on the floor and unconsciously slip into a grand mal seizure subsequently foaming at the mouth and peeing my pants. I'm sure they would not have appreciated that either. What happens if someone has a heart condition and needs to monitor their heart rate? What about a diabetic who must carry a glucose monitor on them at all times? Are those devices also banned?? Will they also be publicly humiliated? Actually, your health conditions are nobody's business, you should not have to defend your innocence in something as trivial as a yoga class. Oh, you also are not allowed to bring your water bottle into the studio. Save your money and go somewhere decent that will engage with kindness and respect to inspire HARMONY, the veracious process of yoga.

I mainly do the hot yoga, but they offer a wide variety of yoga classes & have guest instructors from outside the area come for special classes pretty often. All of the instructors are extremely friendly & highly knowledgeable. If you're unsure after your first class, I definitely recommend going back a few more times. It took me a couple of classes to fall in love with it.

Moving back to Pittsburgh was easy, finding HOT YOGA - Bikram was difficult until I went to Yoga Factory on Penn Ave. Yoga Factory is always super clean with awesome staff & teachers. Thanks for providing great classes.

Yoga Factory has an exception group of instructors. The studio is big and open with 2 yoga rooms and high ceilings. The schedule and variety of classes is extensive. It's definitely heated. The Bikram method allows students of all skill levels to grow and explore their practice. Also there's stickers!

Extremely knowledgeable instructors that understand everyone is not at the same level. Panthro Fitness sends our clients there who have flexibility and stability issues in order to get additional work. I love having a group of professionals I can rely on to deliver top level, dependable service to my/our clients. Love what you guys do. Thank you!

I did not enjoy the studio ambiance or the rigidity of the bikram instructor I had. Yoga should be an individual practice in the way that works for each person, not a tightly regimented, controlled, and militaristic endeavor. My friend and I who tried Yoga Factory out together both felt the instructor was condescending and not particularly welcoming. I have taken classes in both rooms in the studio and was not pleased with either; both have bright, white light that is not soothing in any way and are filled with mirrors that, though helpful to correct postures in small ways, do not make for a relaxing class. The vinyasa instructor I had was at least a little better, though he did not seem to subscribe to the one breath per movement concept (was flowing much more quickly than that). This studio is also a bit bizarre in that there is no savasana together as a class; the instructor leaves as soon as it starts and people make their way out at their leisure after that. I definitely prefer Yoga Flow, both for the studios and the instructors.

I started going to Yoga Factory several weeks ago and I could not be happier with my experience. I'm about as flexible as an iron pipe and I decided to take up yoga to increase my flexibility, flush out all the junk that I put into my body, as well as increase my overall well-being. The staff has been nothing short of phenomenal in encouraging me as well as offering constructive guidance as I stumble through class. When you're a newbie like me, it can be a little intimidating to dive into something that puts your body into positions that it has never done before.. But trust me, the teachers will learn your name immediately and congratulate you for every minor improvement. Go here. You won't regret it.

The studio, staff, and facilities are the best and most memorable of any I've encountered... Except for maybe one instructor in Long Island who was a Steelers fan and literally used "literally" in every other sentence. That was pretty memorable too.

This is BY FAR the best yoga studio in Pittsburgh. The teachers are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and the studio is so spacious and beautiful.
Research some of Zeb's (the owner) videos on YouTube and check out their first timer deals on the website. They make me feel so comfortable and welcome every time I take class, no matter how inflexible I am!

My experience at Bikram Yoga Pittsburgh is five star , first rate. The teachers are in love with YOGA and as a result their teaching styles are focused on providing a uniquely encouraging nurturing class. As a long term committed student I have watched with admiration the support to each student as they practice at a pace that suits their spiritual, physical and mental development.

No question about it... The teachers at Bikram Yoga are incredibly knowledgeable, dedicated, creative, engaging, and helpful, because they're both practicing yogis and dynamically trained leaders! This isn't surprising under the direction of owner/international champion, Zeb Homison, who continues to have a phenomenal practice while still teaching too. The studio invites my husband and me into its space that so aptly marries yoga's philosophy with the kick-butt workout that keeps us coming back! We learn something new in every class and always leave feeling so glad to have been there again! Other students reach out with friendly caring, even recognizing when our schedule has changed temporarily to keep us away from the studio. Even after any break though, we've always returned because we're committed to ever improved yoga practice as an amazing part of life's well-being and good health!

I have been a student here for almost four years and love everything about it. The teachers are phenomenal, the whole community is very welcoming and the studio is clean and well kept. They offer a ton of class times and are pretty much open every single day so there is no excuse really to not get into the hot room. This practice has been transformational for me and I have met some of my dearest friends here. Whether you are a new student or one that has been practicing for years, the class is very beginner friendly and can also be a challenge for regulars even though the class is the same 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises. Can't say enough great things about this studio!

There are all kinds of yoga, but I find that Bikram Yoga is the most accessible by everyone regardless of age, weight or ability. And Bikram Yoga Pittsburgh has great teachers that will help you get started or continue a practice that you will want to do as much as you can. I go to the 5:45 am class often and get ready for work afterwards. The facilities are great. Give it a try.

Bikram Yoga Pittsburgh is simply fantastic. The instructors are all amazing, professional, and incredibly supportive. In addition, the number of different instructors gives students the opportunity to hear the postures and ideas explained and stated in slightly different ways that, although they might sound identical to those not practicing, allow students increased opportunities to "get it" and progress in their postures and practice. The sense of community is terrific. And the owner and teachers make the practice even more interesting and fun by having world-class guest instructors, great workshops, different types of vinyasa yoga and shape shifting classes, and special Bikram classes (hot yoga in Halloween costumes anyone?). I can't say enough about this amazing studio and its owner and instructors.

I have been practicing at Bikram Yoga Pittsburgh for 6 years and attend class about 4 times per week. The teachers are enthusiastic, well trained, and helpful. There is always good energy in the class from the teachers and the yoga community that is well established there. The facility is kept very clean. The 90 minute class is a challenge but you go at your own pace and the teachers are encouraging and supportive for what ever your level of experience. Students of all ages and skill level practice together there in the same class. The advanced students provide good examples of what you can do with your body over time and practice. I seem to always look forward to class for the overall good feeling that comes to mind and body after class and how that same sense or feeling is shared by students and teachers.

I've been to a few different Bikram studios and was excited to try this one when I moved to the NW PA. The drive from my house was about 100 minutes and though people warned about the difficulty of parking in the area, I was not prepared for the challenge. After finally finding a legal place to store the car, I entered dripping wet (or course it was raining) and was greeted by a friendly face at check in. While helpful, the judgmental looks from the other patrons was pretty unpleasant and didn't improve as people realized I was filling out the first-timer at the studio forms. The class itself was pretty packed once we all got in there and the snarky comments from the instructor and some of the frequent attendees really killed the usual self-reflective vibe of practice. Instead, there were some pretty intense competitive yogi's and the instructor seemed much more excited about their competition than guiding us into our poses. I am pretty used to switching studios and keeping an open mind since I move often, but this felt pretty clique-y and distracting to my usual experience. Some people were clearly enjoying it, but overall, the I didn't really enjoy the feel.

Great teachers, great class, beautiful studio. For me personally going to class at least once per week has significantly and quite noticeably increased my lung capacity for singing. It has also increased my endurance for playing soccer and helps with flexibility. I would highly recommend this class for any singers or athletes who want a boost.

Having done Bikram Yoga for several years now, I can say it keeps me healthy, strong, energized. The breathing alone seems to have eliminated my asthma. My back problems are not an issue as long as I maintain my weekly commitment. I have lost weight. I am more flexible. I feel like the poster child for the over-60 crowd!
