I’m a novice and was nervous about this. Well this community accepts all! I look at my neighbor and learn, they have assist me cards and the instructor comes by…everyone teaching and learning are amazing! I’ve only gone 4x and they have been so wonderful to remember my face. The 2 week try us out package let me try before I buy! I canceled my gym membership and getting the monthly here. Come here if you want to feel welcomed and not judged! I’m truly so grateful for Yoga Habit 🧘🏼♀️🫶🏼🧘🏼♀️

I joined Yoga Habit after attending the retreat in Portugal and I could not love it more! I am recovering from an injury and Yoga Habit has made me feel comfortable while easing back into yoga. The teachers are wonderful and they offer a variety of different classes. I really enjoy all of them and on Tuesdays love doing the back to back Power Beats and Slow Flow classes after work. Sculpt and Power Breath are also great. The space is beautiful and clean with amazing windows. Yoga Habit is my happy place and I recommend it highly!!!!

We were visiting from out of town and looking for a great hot yoga studio to practice at. We are regular yogis at our hot yoga studio at home. This practice with Tim was nothing short of awesome!!! Really loved the flow. It was a 90 minute class and while challenging never felt pushed beyond our limits. Everyone was very welcoming and we felt part of the studio community immediately. For those curious to know the class did not have music most of the time although you are moving so quickly and focused on the poses that you really didn’t even notice. This class I would say is probably not suitable for beginners (IMO) although I’m sure the instructor would have been very helpful if you were. The sweat and detox by the end of class was just exhilarating. Thanks for a great class and look forward to visiting this studio again next time in Philly!

I’ve been a member from October 2019 to July 2024 and spent the best years of my 20s surrounded by the most inspirational people both students and teachers!! ❤️
I found Yoga Habit while in undergrad at Temple Univeristy shortly after getting my first electric skateboard the Onewheel XR.
Riding through the Fairmount Neighborhood one afternoon I rolled past the sidewalk advertisement for “2 Weeks for $30” that sparked my curiosity. 🤔
Before this I had no prior experience in Yoga and decided to join because I was in the mindset to try something that I have never done before.
The first few classes felt HOT and I couldn’t keep my arms up in Warrior 2 to save me 😭😭
But remained determined to keep practicing to get stronger in my stamina and strength! 💪
I didn’t realize it immediately but now reflecting on my experience having a regular practice or workout routine at a specific time of the day, many times throughout the week helped with many parts of my student lifestyle ✏️
Time management for me before Yoga Habit was horrendous but, my academic success was in part due to a consistent circadian rhythm.
Best advice I can give is find an Instructor that moves you like no other and make it to that class every chance possible! Of course life can get busy but there’s something magical about growing your yoga practice along with an instructor that speaks to your mind and body unlike any other instructor. While I was taking my favorite instructor I tried to practice with as strict form as possible and imagined it being exam day! 🥇
Then the remaining classes of the week were practices of kindness with myself where I would try a new pose or two and just have fun 😄
Each day of the week has a Vibe to it and you’ll just have to take all the classes, week after week to get a feel for the Vibe 👌
If you’re in a relationship and want to have fun with your partner I’d recommend getting them involved too! It’s an especially relaxing feeling to hold hands in Shavasana with your better half ☺️
As for the Community… It’s The Best! 😍
In the beginning I was shy and kept to myself but all it takes is a smile in someone’s direction for them to smile right back at you! Don’t be afraid to introduce yourself to someone new because chances are you’ll see them next week too 😆
Speaking of meeting new people, last year I decided to Adventure with Yoga Habit to Panama 🇵🇦‼️
Our vacation was phenomenally planned out and worth the money! On our trip we arrived to Panama City, Panama and stayed a night at an impressive hotel then the next morning traveled on a private bus with all of our vacation mates to Sansara Surf and Yoga Resort on the southern most part of Panama where we practiced yoga daily, learned to surf, and ate amazing family style meals together on a LONGGG table sharing stories while making memories! 📸
I would vacation with Yoga Habit again for sure 😎
The only reason I left Yoga Habit this past July was because I was blessed to begin my graduate program in Miami, FL. When I visit Philadelphia to see my family in the holidays I try to squeeze a drop in practice on the way to the airport before my flight to Miami ✈️
After I’m done studying I’ll be returning to Philadelphia because the feelings this place stirs just hits different! 💯
Special thanks to the owner Jen for crafting her vision because I don’t think I would have matured the same without the Community by my side! 😇
Happy New Years!!! 🥳

YogaHabit is one of my favorite places in Philadelphia. I started going for a workout, but I have continued to go back for the community, connection, and calm that comes from being in the YH space. There is a genuine care that can be felt from all of the teachers and staff - care for the whole person and for the practice of yoga. I love the holistic approach and have grown a lot as a member of the Yoga Habit community. For anyone looking for warmth, connection, and self-care, Yoga Habit is the place.

Yoga Habit is a place that is more than just yoga, it's a community. You will always feel welcome here, and it's a place many people make genuine connections. The classes here are beginner friendly and offers slow flow, power, move+groove, & weekend workshops. I don't know a lot of Philly studios that offers both free mat and mat towels to all members at any time free of charge, which is a huge perk on top of all the member perks YH offer!

I've been interested in yoga so I thought I'd give this place a try. It advertises itself as beginner-friendly and all-levels, but that is not the case. I went to the "basics" class, since the online description seemed to match what I was looking for. But the website was unlike what was advertised.
The description on the website said that it "focuses on the foundations." There was no foundation. The class started and the instructor just started calling out names of postures and you were assumed to already know them.
The description said there would be "plenty of demonstration"; there was no demonstration. The instructor paced back and forth. There was no instruction, no explanation, no feedback or checks to see if you were doing anything correctly.
The description said that it would be a "slower flow" suitable for beginners. The instructor was calling out to change postures so fast I couldn't even take a complete inhalation before having to switch it up.
I learned nothing from this "basics" course. I walked away frustrated and disappointed in the waste of money. But it's not only frustrating, it's dangerous. Expecting people with no experience to just jump in like this, with no instruction whatsoever, puts them at risk of injury. There is no way that they're just going to figure out correct technique on their own, and without good feedback they will only ingrain bad practices. I have no reason to believe that the instructors actually know what they're doing, since I didn't see any demonstration or instruction.
If you already have a robust foundation in yoga, maybe you'll enjoy this studio. But if you're a newbie, or if you have any health or mobility needs that require attention, and you want someone to show you the ropes and make sure you're practicing safely, I am completely convinced that practicing here would be actively harmful.

Yoga Habit is a great place to practice. Large, naturally lit studio space with an established community, friendly staff, and dedicated membership. Most of their classes are heated (93-98 F) and their power flows are Baptiste-inspired. They also have non-heated "Slow-flow and restore" classes and a "power basics" class which is all-level but basics focused. They handled the pandemic with grace and a community mind-set and I'll continue to attend classes here for as long as I live in Philly.

This is a fantastic studio for beginners. This is a perfect studio for advanced yogis. Yes, it's both. The owner, managers, and staff are warm and inviting to all. Teachers accept you as you are or challenge you, depending on your mood — and they're great at sensing which one you need.
The studio is kept clean, and always smells good. There's helpful notches on the floor for making sure things never get too crowded, and COVID vax is required for safety.
Classes are all about matching breath to movement, with just enough repetition and creativity across teachers that you'll quickly feel at home but never get bored.

Pros: The instructors and staff are lovely people and it seems they have a nice community there… if you are looking for yoga inspired fitness in a hot room, this is a great fit for you!!
Every class here is basically the same sequence, with slight variations… While set- sequence classes can be transformative, this studio missed the mark with it because practically none of the poses are held for several breaths (unless you are breathing unusually fast, which is the antithesis to Ujaii and the opposite effect that yoga aims to achieve on the nervous system ).
Because the class moves so fast (the teachers won’t even hold Down-dog in Sun sal A…) the focus of the class feels lost and I was unable to fully arrive in any pose … the result of this haste for the class, is that the teachers emphasize movement over alignment. Individual verbal adjustments weren’t offered, transition cues were insufficient to nonexistent, and The teachers did not explain anatomical actions of the pose to engage/release..
Although this is an “open level” class, beginner students are not served because none of the poses are broken down in detail to facilitate alignment and understanding of the poses. This studio is also not a good fit for someone with an advanced practice, as the class’s sequence is not inherently intelligent and does not allow for progression of the poses, or for someone who practices pranayama to get more than 2 breaths in any pose= No learning or advancement..
My intention in this review is to inform practitioners looking for a yoga community of how they might enjoy a class here to see if it is a right fit.. if you are a middle-of-the-road practitioner who wants a quick hot flow, this is a great fit. If you are looking to more deeply understand yoga-body, breath, and mind - (regardless of lineage affiliation) you may be best served at a studio that offers more comprehensive approach.

My first class at the studio was yesterday at 9:30am and it was wonderful! Ali is a great instructor. I understood what postures she wanted us to do. From my experience some yoga instructors cues are hard to understand. I found it refreshing that I could understand. The class was challenging and intense which I like. It was definitely a workout for sure!
The studio is clean and organized. When I arrived I was greeted in a friendly and welcoming manner. The cold wet towel was a nice touch at the end. I’ve never been to a class that does that.
I’ll definitely be back in the near future for another class.

Update from last review (changed from 4 to 5 stars):
I love this place! It’s not fun to rush there, but everything else is amazing.
....
Wonderful experience, just don't be late!!
Update from last review (changed 2 stars to 4 stars):
I was able to get to my next class early. It was great. Sweet and pleasant staff. Wonderful class.
I asked them about the locked door policy- they actually lock the doors exactly at the start time- so you don't even have 8 minutes or 5 minutes, or even 1 minute. IMO, I still think it would be better to have someone at the door during at least the first 10-15 mins of class for those who may not be able to be exactly on time. But I can dismiss that as them have a different (but fully justifiable) philosophy on "stragglers". Now that I know how it works, I know that if I will be 1 minute late, I have already missed that class and I might as well not try to make it. It would have been nice to be notified of that in my welcome/confirmation email, but now that I know, it was a one time event. I will definitely return, as long as I know I can get there on time.
(Previous review:)
8 minutes late = locked out of class?
I arrived 8 minutes late for my first class because I work in healthcare and I don't always get off exactly on time, depending on the needs of my patients. Door was locked. Nobody at the front desk. Nobody answered the phone. I waited 15 minutes hoping someone would return shortly to let me in. Nothing.
I suppose I was warned... "Please arrive at least 10 minutes before class. We start PROMPTLY on time and end class on time to be respectful of your busy schedule and the rest of the community." Apparently "respecting my busy schedule" doesn't include a 8-minute margin of grace. My busy schedule doesn't allow me to be 10mins early to everything. I just wish they would have included the part where if you don't arrive on time you will be locked out. I would have known not to even try and make it to the class. Hopefully they refund my wife for the mat she rented and had waiting for me...
On the bright side... for the classes I don't get locked out of, it's nice to know there will be no "stragglers" joining the back of the room? It's never bothered me that much though to be honest. Not sure if it's really worth locking people out...

At Yoga Habit you will get a great workout, a healthy stretch, a serious sweat and some sweet relaxation. The studio is heated and I’m comfortably warm in long yoga pants and a tank top. The yoga practiced here is done at a quick pace (get that heart rate up!!) but the poses are accessible to every body. I think this is a great place for beginners looking to try it out and more long-time yogi’s looking to develop their practice and join a studio community.

*Fair warning this is a hot yoga studio, so the studio is heated and it’s a bit more fast paced than regular yoga. I really love hot yoga, you sweat more and it feels like a better detox.
Yoga Habit has really reasonable membership packages and several classes each day which makes it really easy for me to fit yoga into my schedule on a regular basis. Like many of the other reviews have said, everyone here is friendly and it’s definitely feels like a judgement free space.
Some additional perks: a cold lavender towel at the end of class, the studio locks the front door during class so your bag/coat is secure, the studio has a shower and several changing rooms, the studio offers reasonably priced workshops on the weekends, and the studio offers mat/mat storage/ and towel rental.

I moved to Fairmount about a year and a half ago and am so happy that Yoga Habit is in the community. Their 21 days for $21 is an amazing deal, which is what led me to becoming an all in member. Their rates are way more affordable than most other fitness studios - unlimited yoga for $89 is unheard of! However, their price point is one of the last things I think of when I recommend this studio -- their instructors are extremely knowledgeable and welcoming, the space is light, clean, and inviting, and they have such amazing workshops each month that help individuals deepen their own practice. It's such a great studio to go to if you're just starting yoga, or if you're an advanced yogi! They have something here for everyone. Thank you so much for fostering such a wonderful and vibrant community!

My sister convinced me to take a class here and now I’m addicted. Unpretentious and welcoming to beginners while also a challenging workout for experienced practicers. Alicia’s 6 PM class on tuesdays is the BEST.

I have been going to Yoga Habit for about a year now and love it. It has such a great community environment. The teachers are excellent and all have their different spins on flow to meet individual needs and interests. Nice touches like mat storage and cold lavender towels at the end of class make it stand out against other studios I've practiced at. I highly recommend the introductory package of 21 days of unlimited yoga for $21. That's how I got hooked!

I love this place! I was always intimidated by yoga people, but from the moment I took the plunge and walked in, the friendly, welcoming and diverse community at yoga habit completely transformed what I thought it meant to be a "yogi". The instructors constantly stress during class to let go of any preconceived notions about how you should be doing things or how your poses should look and to just give the most you can no matter what that looks like for you on any given day. I originally joined yoga habit for exercise purposes, and while it absolutely is an amazing work out, the real benefit is what it has done for me mentally. I really can't say enough good things. So yeah, JOIN!

Jen's heated flow class was the perfect mix of mindful movement and breath, holding postures just long enough to feel each pose from your roots to your soul. The space in the studio is bright and energetic with all the windows allowing natural light to pour into the studio. They have a shower too, which I imagine would be handy for those who get sweaty like I do. I love the community feel of the space and wonderful instructors like Jen. Highly recommended!

Four months ago, I was brand new to any yoga practice, and now Yoga Habit is my home away from home. Jen and her team do an amazing job introducing the practice, making each class a little bit different and they're always welcoming to those, of all levels. I'm so lucky to have found a place to sweat and center after a long day or soak up a morning recharge on the weekend. I am so glad to have found my love and appreciation for Yoga Habit and look forward to every time I'm there!

1st time going. At door at 930. Door locked. Call and they said too bad get here early. Maybe you should say that somewhere. 2 new customers gone. There were 5 people waiting to go in. Probably good yoga, bad customer service. Plenty of studios around.

I have been practicing power yoga for about 6 years and couldn't be luckier to have Yoga Habit as my new home studio. The space is a dream to practice in; beautiful big windows and the ideal combination of heat and humidity provide the perfect atmosphere. Jen is an excellent teacher who incorporates modifications for all skill levels and makes each class different and creative in flow. I have taken Erin's and Alicia's classes in the past and they are two of my favorite instructors. Each teacher has their own unique way of teaching which provides a nice variety of classes. You are always guaranteed a sweaty, challenging workout and will leave feeling physically refreshed and mentally recharged. These are the reasons I keep coming back! I highly recommend Yoga Habit!
