I left RI and moved to Ny. I’ve been trying to cancel my membership for months since March. I’ve tried calling the store or leaving a message on the website and no answer. They have been taking money out my account for months! The phone rings but no one ever picks up. They dont have the cancelation form to fill out. The worst gym. When I was still going there, the gym looked more run down from the pictures they have posted.

DO NOT sign up for a membership with this gym. My agreement ended last May. They renewed it without informing me, after even telling them verbally to terminate it before the agreement had ended, and they have been charging me ever since. I have not attended this gym since my original agreement ended. Since May, I have been trying to cancel. Every time that I call, no answer. I leave a message, no response. I tried to even file a corporate request through the corporate website, and still no response. I went today, to try to cancel in person (again) couldn’t even get in the building with my fob. I looked up the staff hours on the website, it literally says “closed” everyday. This place is very unethical, and should be held accountable for these actions.

Tried visiting this location, since no staff are ever at the Warwick location. Apparently this location is no better. I came at 6pm 7/22. Staff hours on the door clearly say 1-4 and 5pm-9pm, M-F. I'm there at 6pm on a Tuesday night. NO STAFF, whatsoever.

They will hit you with extra fees and charges out of nowhere and with no warning. You can't cancel on the website, you can't cancel in the app, you can't cancel by phone (they don't pick up or return calls), and you can't cancel in person. You have to send it by mail. In 2025. Oh, and they auto-renew without telling you.

As an anytime member at a different location, I had visited this gym today for the first time. I was truly shocked at how dirty and disheveled the gym was. Dust collecting in all the corners, most of the equipment super OLD and dusty. Treadmill machines were ancient and noisy. Turf was filthy and bands/foam rollers and mats were a mess. The place looks like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. No stair master, no water bottle fountain. Very disappointing.
I will not be returning.

I dedicated a year to the gym as 1) it was 24hrs & 2 was only few miles from my home. It’s an overall ok gym, the franchise is good as I visited other AnyTime fitness in MA, CT & NJ but this 1 located in Johnston is not the best upkeep or extension of machines/free weights. I mainly went at night when it was less busy & I was able to complete my workouts. The bathrooms aren’t always in best or cleanest appearance, the showers are ok but lack durability as there is just a curtain. There is only 1 row of about 5-7 different types of treadmills & 2-3 ellipticals. The tanning machine is very outdated & doesn’t do very much & is located in a small room. Also, my vehicle got vandalized multiple times in the parking lot (key scratches) & they have no outside cameras that point toward the parking lot except for 1 at the side entrance but it is black/white at night, blurry & doesn’t show much because the tree branches & leaves. I since switched gyms & enjoy the new 1 I go too from a different franchise, it’s more busier but bigger & the tanning booth definitely shows results.

The more I come here, the more disappointed I am. Only 1 set of matching kettlebells, 3 broken machines, more in need of repair (pad on the seated leg curl is worn so badly you can see the padding inside where both ankles go). No water fountain, only water for sale. Genuinely disappointing for $40/month. My circumstances changed and I can’t get to my home location (which is so much nicer) as often but now only staying until my contract with Anytime is up, then immediately switching to somewhere else.

Completely unprompted, unbiased, uncompensated review. I'm a new member so maybe I haven't seen the problems people talk about, but for now I'm pretty happy. I'll update if my experience worsens.

This gym is best for free weight lifters. Power racks, ample barbell weights and dumbbells, trap bar, preacher curl station and a few EZ curl bars, benches, good quality cable systems (1 and 2 cable and I have zero idea what the differing benefit is,) with a cabinet of attachments, a rower for cardio, and that's all i need for equipment, but they have all of the usual suspects... calf raising, leg press, fly machine, etc. They also have a stretching/calisthenics area with some mats, sticks, and foam rollers and stuff, and too.

That said, if you're looking for a gym membership to do a bunch of varied cardio by yourself (i know they have classes but I don't know anything about them,) I'd only recommend this place if you REALLY needed the 24 hour access or don't need variety. There are lots of gyms with lots of cardio equipment with late hours if you won't be working out after, like midnight. They've got plenty of ellipticals seemingly and some bikes... they all seem like they're in fine condition but they're not brand spanking new (some of the ellipticals have the 1st gen iPod connector discontinued like 10 years ago on them) and I haven't really examined them. The trusty concept 2 rower is in good shape, but they're indestructible anyway. But all-in-all, if you're looking for the Gattaca gym experience, you're not going to get it here. But there's tons of places to get that, though, and not too many with decently priced 24-hour access to solid free weights, so I'm happy this is what it is.

24 Hour access, reciprocity with a bunch of locations, and few people in the gym during very off-peak hours (after midnight) is what I want for logistics. Hard to complain. Some people say it's crowded-- all gyms are crowded during on-peak hours. In the month I've been working out there later at night, I've never waited for a squat rack.

People seem to be good about wiping down the machines, but that's always a crapshoot. People don't always put back the barbell plates but since the machines are right next to the racks, it doesn't even break my stride. The bathrooms could use a refresh, but they don't look dirty-- and I worked in the service industry for a decade so I know a dirty bathroom. I've been in gyms that smell like BO or mildew from roof leaks and stuff like that... this seems fine. Smells like sanitizer on the machines. My wife hates the sanitizer smell, but I don't mind it, and I'm pretty smell sensitive.

Maybe they've made significant strides since the one-star folks here reviewed it? Honestly, some of them just look picky. Go pay more for a gym that isn't open 24 hours and you can get a bathroom that looks like you pulled it out of a hotel. If you're not wearing shower sandals in *any* public shower, you're out of your mind anyway, IMO.

I go very late(or very early) so my review reflects that. Generally, very good gym. Everything you would expect in a well stocked smaller gym. It looks like they got a new tanning bed that looks nice too. I can't remember the last time something was broken. I also like that, often, I am the only one there at that time which is when I like to try doing new things

My only complaint is that sometimes I notice things like the same water bottle in a place for a week someone left behind and some people leave wipes around.

Have absolutely nothing but negative things to say regarding my experience at Anytime Fitness. The gym manager, Jessica, will lie through her teeth and tell you anything in order to get you to sign up. The equipment is constantly breaking and takes months/years to be fixed. Don’t believe her when she says “they will be adding stair-masters soon” because it’s been 2 years and still no stair master machines! The tanning bed has never worked. The bathroom is constantly filthy and unkept. There is no station for water to refill your water bottle, and you have to purchase water!!! Do yourself a favor and join Planet Fitness across the street. The amenities of this gym are deplorable for the price that they charge. It’s only a matter of time before this place shuts down for good!

Been coming for ten years or so, its usually dead and open 24 hours. Dont expect anything from the place past that and you wont be disappointed. Pretty wild this place hasnt been sued yet, trip hazards everywhere between the constantly wet bare tile in the bathrooms, the stupid purple carpet that always comes up, the ancient treadmills with slippery belts or just the rubber floor coming up in places. Horribly maintained equipment I almost hyper extended my knee on one of there treadmills recently and when I told staff about the treadmill that did it he should of put a sign saying "out of order" but he didn't he just continued to talk on the phone. I will start the only positive feedback I have. Facility is always clean and never over crowded. Now for the negative I signed up with this gym for the 24hr access only reason to me it was worth $49.99 a month. Plenty of gyms with more amenities for much less. They automatic debit payment every month. When my contract expired they still continued to debit the account. For months (roughly 7/20 - 10/20) I called Anytime to try and cancel. Never did anyone pick up a call nor did anyone ever return a voicemail. Finally 4 months ago a rep answered and he apologized stating " I am a new manager here". Who claimed he would cancel my membership but could not refund me the months I was already charged because in the contract it states "until membership in canceled the customer will be charged month to month". Although their poor customer service was the reason I couldn't get in touch with someone to cancel. But ok, with no energy to argue I let it be. He said I was all set and account debits would be terminated. Fast forward to 2/26/2021 I notice my account was debited again by anytime fitness. I checked my account back 4 months notice they never stopped debiting my account. Furious I call and surprisingly someone picks up (Ryan) who says he is a "new manager". He claims I was never formally canceled in the system. I request confirmation of cancelation and reimbursement for 4 months. He calls me back explains he will email me a cancelation form. I complete the form and email it back. Since then no one has returned my emails or calls regarding the second half of my request for reimbursement. It is not the money as much as its the principle the first time I brushed off the months of fees charged because I didn't cancel. The second time after I canceled and still was charged is not right. This gym has a rotating staff that is unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend this branch of anytime fitness to anyone.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS GYM. EMPLOYEES WILL THREATEN YOUR LIFE. I went into this gym on Monday July 15th. My key card was not working and a fellow member let me in. When I stepped inside a man (I’m assuming he was a personal trainer began yelling at the guy who let me in saying that he can’t let people in. I told the man that was screaming that my key card was not working and he did not need to yell at the guy. The guy who worked at the facility told me to come in the office and he would look at my card. He then said “ don’t tell him how to do his job” . I turned around and was going to leave because this guy was being extremely rude and unprofessional for no reason. I literally came into the gym to work out and this man was being very disrespectful. Before I left I told him that he did not have to talk to people like that and that I was going to complain to corporate. The guy then said “ I’ll burn your house down” . I was in shock.Who would expect to walk into a facility and have your life threatened. I took out my phone and started recording the guy who threatened me, and of course he wanted to act as if he did not say anything. I went to Johnston police station and filed a report about what happened. As a women, I should not be approached by a man and have my life threatened,NO ONE SHOULD GO INTO A FACILITY AND HAVE THEIR LIFE THREATENED.Then when sent a complain to the owner of this gym, the owner didn’t even have the decency to call me the district manager called me and disregarded the whole issue.

If i could give a negative rating at this point i would. So the carpet is still not fixed. Furthermore there were at least mini construction cones and a sign around the worst spot but those are now removed. Currently the carpet has multiple spots which can be tripped on. As stated multiple times prior this is a perfect scenario for a lawsuit. Clearlt management does not care about their patrons. Period.

I mistated my 6/12/19 post... Indoor /Outdoor carpet isnt 80% fixed. It is 50% at best. Zero comkunication to patrons when it wil be fixed. That and the multiple other points i brought to light in my 7/9 review are not even being acknowledged. Dont waste yoir money going here. You are charged a 30+ dollar fee on top of your monthly fee. Also note that there are cracked bench covers. Cleaning wipe container falling off the post for multiple days. Clearly the owner does not care about the patrons. Also on that note i asled tonspeak to the owner. Manager said that wasnt possible. Also contacted Anytike fitness for contact. They didnt respond as well... AVOID!!!!!

Indoor/outdoor Rug still not fixed. Also near weught rack carpet is lifting as well as the tiles where the benches are. The bands i was told were still good one broke due to dry rot. Lowering back down to one star as the staff here clearly does not know how to correct issues affecting the safety of their patrons. AVOID!!!

Indoor / Outdoor rug was fixed to about 80%. There is still a section that has not been resolved which is still a teipping hazard whichbis a safety issue. No indication it will be fixed. Bathrooms have been cleaned and maintained. Effort appreciated but should never have beem allowed to become thay much of an issue. Bands were purchased. This was brought my attention by the manager who explicitly said that they would not be replaced as they were still fine to use as they last along time. They are still here and still falling apary so apparently it was a big ask to provide quality equipment for a premium gym. Overall the management here is beyond lackluster. Too little too late and lack of attention to detail rule the day. If you are willong to deal with frustration then by all means sign up here. Adding another star for effort and will update this review when the effort presented in addressing the needa of this club are in line with what we as patrons are paying to attend.

I will start by saying I used to like this location... Now since its changed hands they are not doing their part to properly maintain the gym... They refreshed the interior of the gym which includes a section that is indoor outdoor carper which is coming up in spots... been like this for months... when i complained they stated that it would be fixed next week.... that was three weeks ago and it is still not fixed and a seriois safety hazard as one can easily trip and hurt themselves... also the bathrooms were disgusting... i use were as they were finally cleaned after mo ths of being absolutely disgusting... the manager stated when i acquired that a special cleaning crew was coming to address the issue.... clearly the months of time they were disgusting was ok... also i asked rhe manager to replace bands that were literally falling apart... he stated that they were fine and didnt need to be replaced... for 35 to 50 dollars a month one should not have to deal with safety hazards, dirty facilities and faulty equipment... if you join this gym you can gurantee this is what you get as speaking to management means dealing with a wet behind the ears 20 year old that clearly has no clue how to properly manage anything let alone a gym...

Excellent place. There are not all anytime fitness gym clubs same, some of them are out of order and not perfect. But this one is really good. What i would kindly suggest and add to here the judo rubber bands different elasticity, and the towels for shower. And the water need to buy, i did not notice water station as in other anytime gyms.
