Key fob doesn’t work here? Drove several mins to get here only to find it’s not working and no staff were there to help me, even during normal business hours! Not sure why they haven’t fixed this!

Mismanaged, overpriced, not very clean β€” go elsewhere!

I really wanted to like this gym, but Anytime Fitness in Warwick, RI has been nothing but frustrating. The place is just not clean β€” bathrooms are neglected, and the ellipticals and treadmills are often dirty. Staff are rarely around during their β€œstaffed hours,” and management is completely unresponsive. I left multiple voicemails and never received a single call back.

What really pushed me over the edge was how difficult they make it to cancel a membership. You have to submit a request, then mail a certified letter to headquarters to provide written notice β€” and then wait up to 30 days for them to process it.

I agreed to put my account on a β€œfreeze” as a favor to management because I didn’t want them negatively impacted β€” a decision that ultimately cost me nearly $200 due to their mishandling of my account. Despite multiple visits and phone calls, management never followed through on any of their promises or fixed the issue.

There are plenty of clean, well-run gyms nearby that actually care about their members. Save yourself the headache and take your business elsewhere.

My keyfob didn't work. No one their to help because they work 3 hr shifts one in the morning and one in the evening. I called headquarters they said I was still registered in the system someone would call me to help solve the problem. Still waiting. Place is a joke. Update 9/18/25. Someone was finally there after noon time. He spent time getting my key fob straightened out for me with headquarters and now have access to the gym again.

Vampires.
They will hit you with extra fees and charges out of nowhere and with no warning. They have NO STAFF at this location during STAFFED HOURS (1-4 and 5-9). You can't cancel on the website, you can't cancel in the app, you can't cancel by phone (they don't pick up or return calls), and you can't cancel in person. You have to send it by mail. In 2025. Oh, and they auto-renew without telling you.

Mike was so helpful! I live out of town but visit periodically for family stuff, and he got me all set up over the phone with an account and helped me purchase day passes for my trip. I was able keep doing my daily workout during a stressful trip thanks to Mike's help. Plus the place has everything you need and it's in good shape. I'll be in touch during my next visit; thank you!

Awful. Ive had issues with this gym since i starred visiting Warwick. First, the merry-go- round of employees! Ive been robbed twice, one guy wss taking cash and not applying to the account, then another young man convinced me to take classes ad never fulfilled the agreement and disappeared resulting in more loss. Eventually I fixed it wth the owner and was credited, fine. I am npt from Rhode Islabd but visit periodically, and the last time I tried to order a full year in advance and the owner cut the key off becauae my assistant used my key instead of hers the owner and refused a refund causing me more aggravation.
Eventually i went back home to Vegas and got a group account which eventually turned back to Warwick.

Tonight while on the treadmill, the owner ces over yelling about the fobs when we each had our own which i tried to explain before. Now i am accused in front of the other patrons of trying to "eat at a resturant without paying the bill" and being yelled at, " this is the type of person you are" and other nedless insults when the accounts were just fine when we visited the gyn two days prior. Who yells at women on a treadmill and accuses women at the top of their lungs of trying to get free workouts when you have access to every aingle access date and time from both key fobs?

Then when i bark back i am told to leave the gym, so be it. I can do without the feces smudges on the toilet seat and hair in the sink and other filth that that gym holds.
Get it together and keep it together warwick. i once shelled over 600 on the spot for an annual pass and you cut it off the next day.

And get a cleaninng service for your urine scented bathrooms.

You can see they’re in the middle of improvements - exactly what they’re supposed to be doing with your money. Ran into the owner today, a Saturday, and he was here cleaning his own gym and making sure everything was in working order. I feel very safe here, I like this location a lot - nothing like the Johnston location.

This is a scam, DO NOT get a membership here. I have requested a cancellation 3 times and every single time I was assured it was cancelled, I was billed again. Your money WILL he stolen and management (the worst I’ve seen) will NOT help you. I now have to take time out of my day to contact my lawyer for legal action regarding this poor excuse of a gym. Stay far away from this place.

We got day passes to go to the gym when we arrived there was no employees working and we asked a guy to let us in which he did. An hour and a half into our workout the owner of the gym walks in and starts screaming at us saying that we’ve been there before and broke in (This was our first time there) As we’re walking out because he told us to get out he grabs my friend by his neck and pulls him out the door and assaults him. We call the cops and he tells them that we broke in and that we’ve done it before. Do not go to this gym the equipment sucks too.

Was at the gym the other night, working out. Only to find the owner putting his hands on minors in the gym to kick them out. I guess he asked them to leave, but under no circumstances should anyone put their hands on anyone, especially minors. I will be canceling my membership asap. I would not recommend this gym.

It seems like everything I wanted to say about this scam of a gym has been said. The place is absolutely disgusting, smells horrible, and the toilets are covered in feces. Good luck ever trying to get your money back, they have charged us every month since we canceled and dropped of the fob in April. Save your money and your decency and workout literally anywhere else.

Avoid this place at all costs. I cancelled my month to month membership in March and they have continued to bill me since then. Their cancellation process is a joke - I came in person and they had me write out a statement on a blank piece of printer paper. Said I was all set - but it's incredibly convenient that now there's "no record" of my cancellation. Every time I called I was told they would look into it, no one ever did. I eventually had to go through the national parent company to cancel but not before being out $200 from this scam gym.

I seriously hope anyone interested in joining this gym reads the Yelp, google, and FB reviews first. This gym is a complete scam and the owner is a scumbag. I have never experienced so much difficulty in cancelling a gym membership before. I have called, emailed, and SIGNED A LETTER but they still proceed to bill me, even though I have also fulfilled my 2 year contract. Beware, they force auto renew on you and do not honor your term date. I have, like many others, had to put in complaints to the BBB and RI Attorney General. Such a headache over a ridiculous thing. The gym itself is also disgusting and most of the equipment stays out of order for months on end. And, it’s tiny with only one squat rack. Just stay away, worst gym experience I’ve ever had.

Is it possible to give this place less than one star? Despite my contract being up in May of this year, the overweight and disheveled owner of this gym (unprofessional in itself) insists on continuing to try to charge my account for continued membership fees. It seems that he fails to understand some of the basics of contract law (or the English language for that matter). However, after reading some of the other reviews that have been posted about this guy, his current behavior seems to be consistent with the unethical way that he seems to want to operate his business. And to the owner (if he decides to read this), we do not want to hear about your fake hockey ring when we're trying to sign up for a membership. Keep it professional and please show up for appointments when you make them! And please stop trying to blame your missed appointments on the people that work for you...

This gym has the potential. Very difficult to get in touch with anyone during hours. And the bathrooms just are not steadily up to par. The weight room itself is fine if there’s only 1-3 other people in their.. but any more than that and the place feels crowded.. just not enough room.

I do not recommend this facility at all. Started out great and then the trainer was gone. Was left with a balance of my one year membership not being able to be used because the classes had stopped. Asked the owner for a refund of the unused portion and also reported issue to the BBB. Don't feel Mike runs a reputable business. Expensive lesson learned. No refund issued, just justifications as to why it wasn't deserved.

Most of the Anytime Fitnesses I have been to are clean, or try their best. This particular location is most disgusting. If you dare use the bathroom, wear a hazmat suit. I visited here a few years ago, and in all honesty, I doubt the bathrooms have been cleaned since, and they were dirty then. In an era of viruses and other contagious diseases, this is unacceptable. Who ever owns or manages this location needs to invest in some cleaning products, or hire a person who will come in a couple of times a month and clean it for them before someone drops dead from a staph infection.

This is the worst gym I have ever been a part of. I have been trying to join for two weeks now because every time I make an appointment they never show up for it!! I called ABC financial twice to cancel my membership, and while at least they had the decency to answer - I was instructed that the cancellation had to come from the gym. When I said I had tried numerous times to contact you with no response - they simply gave me another number to call.

I am at a loss of what to do. I am hoping that when I write the reviews for your gym that it will deter the next person from going through this very painful process.

NorthEast Sports Training and Rehabilitation (the NEST) oversees all of the exercise programming options. The NEST training staff is a team of experienced Professionals that include coaches, trainers, therapists, and dietitians. Its the same group that trains the Boston Bruins, Providence Bruins, Brown University and Providence College athletics, to name a few.
