When I went to my brothers swim meet I could not even sit down and they they telling me to go to the other side of the pool and I could not even stand or take pictures

had a concerning experience with Laura, a pool staff member, in the pool area. She approached me while I was next to the pool stairs taking pictures of my child and immediately told me not to leave her, speaking in a harsh, embarrassing way without letting me explain. I felt singled out and uncomfortable. I reported the incident to the Executive Director, and shared my concerns.

Some of the staff is amazing, while others are incredibly rude. Terrible communication between staff and with members. The major reason we joined is the outdoor pool, which is closed ALL summer. Locker rooms are outdated and gross. If there was another option close by I would gladly switch. Generally disappointing.

The locker rooms are "cleaned" everyday. They are very dirty and moldy. Today I was rushed out because they "clean" them during the middle of the day. I grew up going to this Y and I am so disappointed in the condition of the pool and locker rooms. They could do a lot better.

The ABSOLUTE worst “gym” on the east side of the Mississippi. Two benches, no squat racks, and guys who think their life is a movie and hog the equipment. Give me a break. The literal equivalent of someone opening a gym in their garage and calling it a YMCA gym. That’s how small it is. Embarrassing. Once again, the ABSOLUTE WORST gym in New England.

For a town like Barrington, I expected more. The workout facilities are stuffed into the cellar like an afterthought. There’s hardly any natural light there. You feel like you are on top of each other When you are using the equipment. One visit to the Newport YMCA and you will see all you are missing. From clean, wide open workout spaces with beautiful views to hot/dry saunas, etc.

The swim lessons here are amazing with Miss Sara, my 3 year old special needs son does extremely well especially after being abandoned by his last swim school, she is so great with him and very patient, so glad I found this place, everyone seems very friendly and it's kept so clean

This branch of the Y is suited mainly for families with children and older people. If you are looking for a Gold's Gym type setup forget it. The facilities are adequate. The pools are pretty good.

What gets the Bayside YMCA 5 stars is the staff. There's always a friendly face, a smile and a hello when you both enter and leave. Staff is kind and trustworthy. My children have spent many days and hours at the Y, and I trust them completely.

There are few places left where you are made to feel welcome and happy I must compliment the Bayside y on achieving this all too rare feat.

First time to join at YMCA. The staff there are amazing!! Not only are they very professional but go out of their way to help and inform you of all the activities you can take advantage of there. Place is very clean and spacious. My 9 year old is very happy there which means I am too. Lol.

This gym is not a good place for anyone training with weights. They went from 3 to 1 squat racks. No place to deadlift . Lack of variety of equipment . I have been working out here on and off for 14 years through my family membership.

I have been going to the Y in Barrington for almost a year 5 to 7 times a week and overall the place is a pleasure to go to. The staff is helpful the trainers always available and the gym has enough equipment where you never have to wait in line.
I haven't ventured into the pool yet but it looks like an Olympic pool, can't wait to go in. Overall a place that deals with so many diverse people of all different ages the barrington Y is a pleasant part of my day.

Joined for the pool and can never use it because they have the school swim club in all afternoon and the local swim club in all evening. When I expressed my frustration (I am paying for something I can never use) I was told it would "calm down in March" and "go to the one in Seekonk" - which is a forty minute round trip. There is no point in selling this place as a YMCA with pool access if the only people that can use it are under 21. Overrated with no capacity to understand what balancing the needs of the community are...

The updated swimming pool and the reception area is very nice. The rest of the facility is still the same, but completely functional and adequate. The recent replacement of the exercise equipment made a big difference,

The girls at the front desk are fabulous Stacy took the time to give me a complete tour and explained everything i asked -the other regular at the desk is wonderful as well

I am a faculty member at Brown University and I live around. I joined this YMCA last year, and I like this YMCA, most of the staff members are very friendly except one young female staff member (around 20s) in downstairs Gym room. From my view, she is a kind of racist, because she always say hi or wave bye to specific party, and get troubles with some other parties.
