Great place. I went with my 3 kids. Ages 8, 13 and 16. We all had a really fun time. There for about 2 hours. Itβs expensive, but fun and challenging and good for a wide age range.

I loved this gym! I was on a work trip and my partner recommended we go for climbing one evening. Though i am new to this, but i had a great time learning colour scheme and tried free-hands first time ever. While leaving, i missed my Tissot watch in the changing room or somewhere. I live in DC, and reached out to the gym 3 weeks after my trip just to check if they could have my watch! They did have it! Brittany Palumbo fedexed it and reunited me with my precious!

Been here a few times, had a blast every time. Took the belay class here too, great instructor, very thorough and clear. Many of the bouldering options were easy enough the kids could be successful, and some were a level higher where it challenged us as newbies but we were able to work on it and get close to figuring it out. A lot of fun, and a great way to spend an afternoon.

This place is a great climb. Lots of options. Friendly staff.
The waiver forms are atrocious. What a god damn nightmare. If I want to take my family I need to sign 3 different forms for each person. Then I need to go and verify my email address for each form. So if 4 of us want to go, that's 12 forms, and 12 times I'm verifying the same email address for each form.
Simplify the form process. No need for this many hoops to jump through.

It was a bit tricky to navigate the parking lot, but once I found it, I was good. I've never rock climbed before. It's definitely a much better experience if you know someone who has rock climbed before and is willing to help you out your first time. If not, the staff was very friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable. It's important to pay attention to all the safety information the staff and the intro videos tell you about because you are ultimately responsible for your own safety. The walls were suitable for a variety of skill levels. From walls that even not terribly athletic people could climb to walls so difficult I can't comprehend how someone could possibly complete them (but some people have!). They have all the gear you need available for rental. If you go every other week or less frequently than that, don't worry about the membership. You might as well get a day pass every time. If you want to make this a regular weekly hobby, then the membership also includes courses to improve your skills and progress as a climber. Regardless of skill or how dedicated you are, it is worth a visit.

This is a wonderful indoor rock climbing gym. The staff is very welcoming, friendly and helpful. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of bouldering & self-belay areas that they had. This location also has a lot of youth programs. I went on a Saturday and there was a good amount of people but it was not crowded. I will definitely be going back.

I'm not sure why I never reviewed this place while I was a member here but the time is now. I moved out of the area a couple years ago and have been struggling to find a gym half as good ever since. The staff, the routes, the facility were all fantastic here. The place has an excellent variety of problems and different walls. Also the problems are all interesting/ different. I feel like at a lot of gyms as problems get harder the holds just get smaller and further apart. That isn't the CRG style, they actually care to set interesting problems that require thought vs just being taller.
Definitely miss this gym, hopefully other gym owners see this place and figure out this is the way it should be done.

Price point seems steep when you only get to do 5 auto belay climbs. You're not allowed to practice your knots on the ground with your partner prior to testing out for belaying because that is considered "teaching" and they want to make money from you by having you do their belay learning course. A mix of covid and deployments has kept me from climbing the past few years however I have experience with climbing and was treated like I knew nothing because I couldn't remember my figure 8 knot on the spot. I'll drive the extra distance to Mass next time to find one of the gyms out there.

Iβve been to plenty of rock climbing gyms, and this has been my absolute favorite. Admittedly, other gyms have better facilities (bigger lead walls, more boulder walls, etc.), but when climbing at those I always find myself missing the CRG in Warwick. Everyone who works and climbs there is incredibly friendly and caring, and thatβs a huge part of why I love climbing. Below are some more specific pros and cons Iβve observed after climbing at the CRG in Warwick for over a year and a half.
Iβm a college student who will graduate soon, and I find myself worrying about finding a new gym I love as much as CRG Warwick. I originally chose between Rockspot and CRG, and Iβm so glad I ended up at CRG.
PROS
-The climbing is great. Routes are reset regularly; theyβre reset well and with care, and I can always find something both challenging and engaging. This should be oneβs main consideration in climbing gyms, and CRG Warwick certainly ticks that box with ease.
-Routes align with colored plastic holds. I hate routes marked with tape with a passion, so this is a plus.
-The social atmosphere at the gym is wonderful, largely because of the wonderful people who work there.
-The lighting in the gym is great at all times of the day. This can seem like a minor detail, but for me a well-lit gym is fundamental for winter training.
-The walls and holds are very new, so the friction is great (prepares your skin for granite really well too!).
-The fitness room has everything I want, from free-weights to a tension board, from treadmills to circuits and campus boards.
-The bathroom is always clean and thereβs a great shower if you need it (bring your own towel).
-There is a sufficient variety of overhung and slabby walls, for both bouldering and ropes.
-The membership has tons of free classes that Iβve never used. That option is wonderful and itβs cool how many options I have. Also, as a CRG member, you have free access to climbing gyms all over the north east. I went to NYC for a weekend and climbed for free in their Manhattan gym.
CONS
-The grades are pretty soft, particularly for the boulders. This is fine, so long as they are consistent, but sometimes the grades feel on par with outside, and sometimes they feel like CRG Warwick grades. Overall, a minor issue.
-The majority of the boulders finish by grabbing the top of the wall. This is fun (if in doubt, dyno to the top!), but hasnβt prepared me well for more technical outdoor top outs when climbing my limit (more air starts would be great).
-I believe there is only one route setter. Others help him, to be sure, but I find that Iβve gotten pretty accustomed to his overall style. Of course, I love all the routes and have no complaints about the climbs themselves, but some more variety in setter-vision would help me progress as a well-balanced climber.
-The lead wall is not as tall as other gyms, and the boulder walls miss out on more extreme overhangs. That being said, I donβt find myself wishing for them.

CRG is one of the first rock climbing gyms I've been to, and so I didn't even realize how lucky I was to live near it until I got more into climbing and explored other (not as great) gyms. The walls are clean and spacious, there's lots of variety, the staff are friendly and make an effort to remember patrons, and I've never felt like it's too crowded. Sometimes when it's warm they open up this big door in the back of the gym, and it's wonderful to climb with all that fresh air. Most climbers are courteous and fun to be around, and there's a whole range of ages. I bought both my shoes and the beginner package with a harness, ATC, and chalk bag here, where members get a discount their first month. CRG Warwick has been a fantastic place to climb!!!

Great climbing gym. I believe, at the time of this writing, it is the newest gym in the CRG group.
I am decreasing 1 star for, what I believe, is a silly design choice in the gym: They have a concrete walkway between the mats that separate the bouldering and top rope walls. It seems insignificant, but when you are wearing agros you do not want to be walking on a hard floor.

CRG Warwick is the best climbing facility in the Rhode Island area for three important reasons.
The staff at CRG Warwick are extremely friendly and welcoming to all climbers of all ability levels. The staff actively interact with members, ask for feedback on the facility, and maintain a safe and fun environment. Jamie and Sean are always willing to put down whatever they're doing to help you out. This location is where I learned how to climb and by the end of my first visit, I already felt like a regular.
The climbing at CRG Warwick has something for everyone. Boulders range from V0 - V12 and top rope climbs range from 5.5 - 5.13. The setting at CRG Warwick is perhaps one of my favorite parts of the facility in contrast with other climbing gyms in RI and other CRG facilities. The routes are fun to climb, varied in their styles, and have wonderful flow. The routes do not rely on gimmicks or overly parkour-esque movements to generate interest, but rather task the climber to employ good technique and body position to send a route. If you do enjoy more competition style setting, CRG Warwick does offer this style too, it's just not the majority of routes. I also feel like I'm improving as a climber when I climb here--Steve, the head route setter, knows how to set high quality routes and boulders for all ability levels, shapes, and sizes. Boulders and roped climbs are reset each week. CRG Warwick also has a lot of modern and new holds as well as a large assortment of volumes and wall shapes for a variety of climbs.
Finally, the facility is wonderful. It's spacious, very clean, well lit, and constantly updated. About once a month CRG Warwick is improving something. There are clean, spacious bathrooms, a fitness room with plenty of equipment, a yoga studio, showers, a kitchen area with a fridge and microwave, and a kids climbing area. The other climbers at CRG Warwick are friendly and welcoming. Every time I climb there it seems like a make a new friend.
If you're new to climbing, new to the area, or looking for a new home gym--I strongly recommend visiting CRG Warwick. The staff is nice, the facility is new and updated, and the climbing is fun, varied, always evolving. Come check it out!

I went during a promotion they had going where it was free for college students. It was beyond worth it. They had a free tutorial on how to belay, they gave us free rental of shoes and a harness. The staff was the best and super helpful with walking my girlfriend and I through everything. Jaime my instructor was a super cool dude as well. The place was pretty big and spacious. They had some good music playing while you climb or workout. Definitely a great time to just hang out with some friends, or get a good work out in. So much to offer. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.
