Well appointed, centrally located in Providence this is quite the sanctuary for a yoga studio. Studio is clean and bright; most importantly my favorite yoga instructor is substituting this Monday morning, Aug 18 at 7:30 am. I am visiting from NC and am grateful to have this opportunity to practice with David Vendetti in real life.

Jala is the absolute best yoga studio I have ever been to. The teachers here really care about each student as an individual and meet them where they’re at to help them build the proper foundation for each posture. There is such a variety of classes. I used to be intimated by other yoga studios, but not here. Teachers and students alike are so welcoming. It’s a lowkey studio in that everyone checks their ego in the door and definitely doesn’t worry about wearing the latest gear- come as you are, it’ll feel like coming home. Bristol cares so deeply about the true teachings of yoga and it is something that has become essential to both my practice and life. She honors the traditions in a way that reminds you that yoga is about more than moving your body. The classes here aren’t a “workout” they are an exercise in combining your mind and body to be the best version of yourself you can be. I got to go on a retreat with Bristol last year and it was one of the most profound experiences I’ve had in my life. Since moving out of Providence there is just no studio that compares to the warmth, community, and commitment to the tradition and teachings of yoga that I can find. I truly miss practicing here.

I had been practicing yoga for ten years, but it wasn't until I walked into Jala five years ago that I knew I found what I had been seeking all along. Excellent teachers with many years of experience. Incorporating ancient wisdom into classes - not watering it down, but teaching directly from ancient texts. The best community - kind and thoughtful people also looking to learn and grow.

Bristol taught a class for Rhode Island Vegan Awareness last Saturday. It was my first time there, she was welcoming and the class was restorative. I appreciated Bristol's inquiry of any injuries before class, she checked in on s too make sure it wasn't too much and also offered to help correct our postures if needed. I most definetly recommend this studio. ♡

This studio has been so welcoming to me and I’ve only been going for a few months. They offer many different types of yoga and they offer variations of each pose, which is very helpful for my back issues. They have done wonders for my mental health. They make me feel like I have a little community:)

I've been a student at Jala since the studio opened and am always impressed by the beauty and cleanliness combined with excellent instruction and care from the teachers. I've been to many studios and know that Jala is a special and welcoming place that is filled with positive energy. Classes are appropriate for all levels, with modifications offered for those who need them or guidance provided for those looking to advance their practice. Students can be sure they will have a safe and rewarding practice...when I roll out my mat here I know I am on my way to total bliss.

Of all the studios I’ve been to Jala is truly the best! Bristol is a wealth of yoga knowledge and support (literally, when it’s handstand time), and just a kind, funny, and lovely person. I especially appreciate the care Jala is taking to keep their students safe amid the ongoing covid-19 pandemic — so grateful to be able to practice in the studio knowing that Bristol is taking every precaution. Love you Jala!!!

Jala is truly a gem! Jala offers an authentic experience honoring the roots and traditions of Yoga. The teachers and students alike create an inclusive and welcoming community and environment. The space is clean and bright with beautiful views. Bristol is an incredibly talented and generous teacher/studio owner, with a clear passion for Yoga philosophy and serving others. She has helped me progress in my practice greatly and really "walks the walk" as they say!

JALA is great! The studio is peaceful, filled with light, and immaculately clean. Because they are following all of the necessary COVID precautions, I feel confident that it is a healthy and safe space. Well done, Bristol and company.

Jala is everything yoga! They offer fun, thoughtful asana that is truly accessible to all levels in a beautiful studio (and on zoom 😊) that is filled with interesting art from local artists. The teachers are true yogis who practice yoga both on and off their mats and are always offering help to advance your practice. I'm never disappointed by this studio!

Favorite yoga studio in the Providence area out of 7-10 I tried. The jivamukti yoga classes are the perfect balance of calming, energizing and thoughtful while also helping you to progress with yoga poses if you'd like to. I'd never tried jivamukti before going to this studio. I always left feeling rejuvenated. Knowledgeable staff. Lovely peaceful studio. Not so crowded like a couple of other studios in town.

This is as pure of a yoga studio as you will visit in Rhode Island. Bristol begins her classes with some Hindu philosophy, teachings and meditation, all of which help to bring a true yogi spirit and mindfulness into your daily life. I find her teachings to be interesting, and quite helpful and practical in negotiating life's challenges. She also invites you to try more difficult poses, opening up different parts of your body. She is willing to assist you gently to ensure proper technique and form. This is a must visit studio for any true yogi!

Bristol has created a unique and magical thing: a yoga studio that is warm, welcoming, and beautiful; yet approachable. Her teaching achieves that impossible combination of being fun and laid-back yet absolutely serious about passing on the teachings of the yogic lineage. In a world where watered-down yoga classes are a dime a dozen, at Jala you'll get a great workout but more importantly, really learn how to walk the yogic path beyond just the physical postures. Couldn't recommend more highly!
