This is a big gym with lots of options. It’s great that there’s a pool, hot tub, and sauna. However, this is one of the dirty gyms I ever been to. The machines do not get cleaned at the end of the day, and the pool really smells. It also gets very hot in the wellness center. This could be a great gym if they took better care of it.

ALL the stairs masters have been broken for MONTHS it's like they refuse to fix them. Some of their other machines are placed awkwardly in front of others, making it feel weird when you're working out with your butt and in someone's face basically and they removed the scale in the women's locker room. I have tried talking to them about these things but you can tell they don't care because nothing has changed the only reason I gave 1 star is bc it's fairly clean.

Poorly run just like the other two on Staten Island. Chest fly machines have both been out of order with signs on them for 3-4 months, any time you go to the desk with any issue, they just provide and excuse instead of a resolution or place blame on other employees. Bathrooms are always disgusting, the place has young kids behaving like immature children horse playing, vaping, yelling being loud laying across the counters. None of the members have good things to say about this location with good reason.

Rude staff, unprofessional. Told to get off the treadmill during even though it wasn't 10 o'clock and the gym was still open because they wanted to be out the door at 10 on the dot, when I mentioned I still had a few minutes the employee chose to get in my face and escalate. I used this location while on vacation in Providence. It was clean, not too busy during the time I was there. The staff at the front desk greeted me each day (something that doesn't happen at my home location). The gym itself appears like it's a very old location, but clean nonetheless. I didn't go upstairs so I don't know the cardio situation, but the free weight and machine areas were fine. The dumbbells were all out of order but that's an inconsiderate member issue. Lastly, the eye candy in this gym was top notch lol something I don't get to see at my home location. All in all I was very happy and satisfied with it.

Your Pawtucket facility is disgusting and the stink is out of control. I cannot breathe anywhere! While training or in locker rooms or bathrooms. It constantly smells like mold and sweat and urine. Well, I really have to say that the gym didn't impress me. It needs a few modifications (fixes, improvements). Many of the machines are in poor condition, others are damaged. For the slightly high subscription, it's not worth it, in my humble opinion. The bathrooms stink, and it's also worth mentioning that people are talking very loudly on their phones, which is a bit disruptive.

There’s really no “good” time to work out at the Pawtucket LAF — it’s consistently overcrowded, no matter when you go.

Pros: The equipment is solid, and the staff is friendly and professional.

I recognize that the location has limited space and can't expand, so I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1. However, the crowding significantly impacts the workout experience, and that’s hard to overlook.

Hit or miss… nice staff but no one reracks. lots of machines but they never fix the broken ones. lots of space but they blast the heat. water filter and wipes are often not replaced, there’s no chest supported row, half the machines need some WD-40, people often use the smith machine for a 50 minute 9 set pilates workout… there’s so much potential but it feels the staff have done nothing to invest in the place lately. But hey, at least it’s better than the local Y!

Update: 12/07/24 a simple fresh paint job and changing the all of lights would help. The mens sauna has been out for weeks. Another excuse. Always excuses. Smh. Nothing changes if nothing changes. The members are not the issue! It's the way the club is run and operated. La Fitness should do a secret shopper program and rate each club.

I actually witnessed the issue being logged this time and the police were called. Updated: 4/12/23- They have an issue with controlling the environment. Night time is awful as the basketball court attracts a lot of problems directly related to non-members and guest pass abuse. I believe this is strongly related to the thievery that has been experienced. Recently, I forgot my toiletry bag and it was stolen. It had a bracelet gifted to me from my mother. What kills me is the lack of awareness and ownership to keep an orderly and safe business establishment. Staff members can literally see personal belongings of value and not think "hmm I should grab that and bring it to lost and found" it's a known thing if you have the misfortune of forgetting something it's stolen.
I don't want to be in an environment I pay for and have to feel that way. This truly makes me want to change gyms. They have thieves in their house!!! I have other things to critique but it's not worth any more of my time. Previous review. ---A lot of equipment has been broken for over a year! Weights are frequently scattered.
Historically, pool maintenance has been unsatisfactory.
It seems to close early or delay opening more often than other gyms.

Although the front desk staff is kind and helpful, this gym overall is poorly managed. Equipment is frequently broken and out of service (all 6 stairmasters) and even the 3 of the 4 front doors do not work (how is this not a safety code violation?). I’ve been coming to this gym for about 6 years and usually arrive in the morning. The night staff never clean up before leaving which means weights and equipment are strewn about and hard to find which limits one’s workout. It seems that corporate doesn’t want to appropriate the funds to make much needed repairs which is why I am currently seeking a new gym membership elsewhere. Additionally, rules are never enforced which means you may or may not be included in someone’s filming (happens almost daily).

FIVE new stars for calm, cool, collected woman at front desk. I think her name is Cristina. Keeps the place in order. Cleans glass on doors and picks up weights too. I am frustrated with this gym. The equipment is constantly out of service, and it takes forever for anything to be repaired. All stair master machines have been down for over a month. It feels like they don't care at all about maintaining their gear. The gym etiquette is terrible – people leave their gym bags on machines for 10 minutes while they’re off doing other things, blocking machines for others who actually want to use them. People also use limited machines for their entire 40 minute workout and don’t let others have a turn. Weights are left scattered all over the place like no one has any respect for others. The heat is cranked way too high, making the environment uncomfortable and unbearable, especially on the cardio level. For the price we’re paying, we should be getting much more – better maintenance, better atmosphere, and people who actually respect the space. Definitely looking for another gym at this point.

I've been a member at this gym (and location for almost 9 years. Eddy has been one of the friendliest support staff to date. I feel very welcomed by him. IMO, For the price, access to a pool, small but good sauna, gym court and various weights and equipment this place is a solid 4.

Wish the sauna was a bit bigger because it can get crowded in there LOL. 1 More set of all dumbell weights would be awesome. And just the Marine in me but a regular pull up bar or 2 would make me estatic haha.

it’s a good size and the staff here are incredibly nice. the women’s sauna is great too, but men’s sauna is closed every so often. machines are given poor maintenance. lots of friction on some of the machines as though they need to be oiled. 6 out of 6 stairmasters currently out of service as well as some treadmills but thankfully there’s a surplus of treadmills. front doors are blocked off by garbage cans and signs saying to use another door, not sure why these haven’t been fixed in months. it’s a good place to just get the job done but planet fitness and edge gyms have better maintained gyms/equipment.
