We have been taking our almost 4 year old and 2 year old to morning gymnastics for several months now. Not only do they have an amazingly fun time, but their coordination and physical abilities have greatly improved. The staff is always helpful with the kids as well!

We brought our daughter Emersyn to OSSG for 3 years. It was the first sport she tried and it was a very positive and beneficial experience all around. The instructors were very patient and knowledgeable- exactly what I had hoped for her in her first exposure to athletics and a social sport setting.
The only reason we left was because we moved. Highly recommend. They do a great job.

I was an Ocean State gymnast for 15 years, starting at age 3 and continuing until I graduated high school. My time at Ocean State was truly life-shaping and gave me skills that carried far beyond gymnastics. When I went off to college, I applied the discipline, perseverance, and focus I learned in the gym to my academics. I studied consistently, didn’t give up when challenges came my way, and ultimately earned not just one, but two degrees before starting my career.
Even now, I continue to use the lessons I learned at Ocean State in my everyday life. One of the most impactful is visualization—a technique my coaches emphasized before every routine. Today, I use it to set goals, overcome obstacles, and create change in my life.
I truly believe I wouldn’t have achieved the same success in school, my career, or my personal life without the foundation Ocean State gave me. I am forever grateful for the program, the coaches, and the lasting impact they’ve had on me.

I trained at OSSG for 13 years and the lessons I learned there continue to benefit me far beyond gymnastics. My time at the gym gave me an appreciation for attention to detail and an understanding of how consistency can lead to success. My coaches also taught me how to stay calm before competing and adapt when routines didn't go as planned, an invaluable skill to have when trying something new, like transitioning to college or starting a new job. I'm very grateful for my coaches at Ocean State!

Our 9-year-old son was inspired by the last Olympics and immediately wanted to try gymnastics. We looked at many places in RI and were discouraged to find that very few gym's offer boy's lessons. We found Ocean State School of Gymnastics and the experience has been phenomenal!
In just a few months, he’s gotten noticeably stronger, more confident, and absolutely loves coming to class. What really makes OSSG special is the coaching staff — Coaches Bruce, Matt, Nate, and Jaden have been incredible with our son. They’re encouraging, knowledgeable, and know how to push the kids to excel while still having fun.
Our son is now motivated to keep improving and even dreams of competing one day. Huge thanks to everyone at OSSG for fostering such a positive environment for young athletes. We’re so grateful we found this place!

Was very disappointed to receive only one week’s notice that my son’s class was being canceled . This abrupt decision left my child upset, as he looked forward to the class each week. Coach Matt was absolutely amazing — energetic, supportive, and genuinely great with the kids. It’s unfortunate that such a positive experience was cut short so suddenly, with little time to prepare or find alternatives. Better communication and consideration would have been greatly appreciated.

I never thought I would feel what I am feeling now about this gym. I am so upset with this gym and coaches,. Imagine being at the gym for years and on Gold for 3 years, working so hard, Helping out in the summertime with the little kids etc and being told they want to keep you another year where you are and not move you up and in the same conversation they say how great she is doing. Then you are told by someone they will not move your kid up because it guarantees a win for the team and gym. Horrible. What is more horrible is her last day the coach did not even talk to her, wish her luck, let her participate in the song. That coach is so lucky I was not there, she needs a reality check and quick. How dare her treat someone like that, I guess money is more important to this gym than anything. 😡😡😡😡😡

My son is 11 years old with special needs. I have a friend whose son goes to Ocean State School of Gymnastics and she suggested we join. I was honestly on the fence about it. I wasn't sure how he'd do in that environment, plus the fact that he's had no experience whatsoever. I called to inquire about it and the staff was so helpful. I explained that he would do best in a class with fewer kids. They were able to give me a time and day that worked best for us that only had 3 other boys in it. The first day that we went, my son was overwhelmed by the noise. He had his headphones on and told me he wanted to go home. One of the coaches came out and asked me what might help. I explained that my son might go in if he took him in the corner and worked with him individually. It took a few minutes, but my son agreed to go in. Once he saw what the other kids were doing, he was intrigued and wanted to join. We've been going for about 5 weeks now and my son can't wait to go to gymnastics . His 2 coaches work so well with him and it's been a joy to watch him thrive in that environment. I am grateful for the staff and their commitment to make my son feel encouraged and welcome. I highly recommend this place.

EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS…. I recently hosted my daughter’s 6th birthday party at OSSG, and it was truly the best celebration she has ever had. This is our second time choosing OSSG for a party, and once again, they went above and beyond to make us feel like family. The facility is by far the best gymnastics studio I’ve encountered, offering a bright, clean, and welcoming space. The family that owns OSSG are absolute gems—so warm, friendly, and dedicated. The staff were incredibly engaging with the kids, tailoring the activities and games perfectly to their age group, which kept them excited and entertained throughout the party. We even upgraded to include the bouncy house, which was an enormous hit.
One of the best parts was how the parents could sit back and relax, watching their kids from the glass windows. During the lunch and cake break, all I kept hearing from the kids was “This is the best party ever!” And it wasn’t just the kids—every single parent commented on how amazing the venue was, many expressing interest in bringing their child back for gymnastics lessons or even hosting their own parties there. OSSG truly knows how to make a celebration special. I cannot recommend them enough!

The gym is nice, well equipped and well run. My daughter had been a member for 2 years before we withdrew her. The cost and the fees are disrespectful to members. The cost of the gym has increased and the time the girls get in class has decreased. Additionally, if your girls want to take advantage of the open gym and practice their skills, they must PAY to do so, despite being a member.
It's 151.00 dollars a month for a one hour class (shortened from 1 hour and 15 minutes) and 20.00 per open gym. That makes the gym cost 231.00 PER MONTH if your child wants to practice.

We’ve been long time members of the gym. The staff is always great.
The best time we have had was at my daughter’s birthday party. It was staffed by Ashley T. Devin and Fluffy. All of the kids had a blast. The energy that the staff brought was amazing. We have been to parties at other places where the party hosts are clearly just there for the money and nothing else. These girls paid attention to all the kids, and made them all feel like they had been members at the gym forever. We had a wide range in ages. Some of which are hardened to get to pay attention. All of the parents had nothing but positive reviews of the staff, setup and the overall experience. I even have one parent who is now interested in signing up her child for classes.

We moved from the west coast and just started googling. Having a toddler and wanting to enroll her in extracurricular activities is stressful when you know no one and have no recommendations. This place turned out to be a huge part of our transition to the east coast for our kiddo. She loves it here! Totally impressed by her improvement and the amount of things she learned and retained at three. The nicest staff and clean place!

I was very optimistic when we first began, and my daughter was very excited about learning gymnastics and improving her fundamental skills in order to advance to higher skills. We have been there for about 6 months and she has begun having panic attacks on the way. She said she is afraid of hurting herself and she doesn’t feel like she is learning anything.
I have personally spoke to, I believe the owner, about my concerns with the coaches, not being involved enough in actual teaching. It seems to me that it’s just a lesson in practicing what you already know and if it’s the wrong way, then that’s what you’re practicing. My daughter has learned to tune in skills that were talk to her from other classmates and at home. It is frustrating to pay for a service, and in the end you have a bunch of teenagers who are not teaching, but babysitting your child while they try to teach them selves gymnastics.
I know it did not used to be this way because I took gymnastics there and it wasn’t that way when I was there but now they seem to be only interested in children that have raw talent that can be moved up to their competition team and they don’t really work with the younger kids to see if they can help them develop skills based on their current fundamental abilities.

I go to the adult classes here on Tuesdays from time to time and love it only 15$ and the coaches are very helpful and nice!!! Staff is always friendly and make you feel welcome!! Very clean here and has a place for you to get a snack and a store inside you can buy all kinds of things from clothing to jewelry to honey!!! I'm very glad I found this place one of the only places I've found to do adult classes where you pay as you go and can have fun without any commitment! Great for kids aswell!!! Highly recommend it!!! I recently enrolled my son in the preschool class with Coach Joe. I cannot say enough good things about this place and the staff. The ladies at the front desk are always so sweet and welcoming and the coaches are wonderful! My son LOVES coming here so much that we decided to come twice a week instead of once a week.
Coach Joe is better than I could have hoped. He is extremely patient, kind and fun. But he also knows when to be stern. He is able to get my son to sit and listen and learn. My son is always SO excited to come to class and learn something new. I couldn’t be happier with my decision to enroll my son here! Thank you Coach Joe and all the staff here for being so wonderful and teaching my son something amazing!

My niece is a student and I believe she receives top notch coaching and attention. Where they are severely lacking is in the administration and communication skills. For every competition/event, the most basic information such as time and place is never posted until the very last minute- if at all. Even the students and parents do not receive the information in a timely manner. A person can reasonably assume that an organization of this size that participates/organizes events of large scale has the detailed information well in advance of said event. By not posting the information shows a very low-level of service (and respect) to its' enrolled families and to the extended family and friends that wish to support the student and the school itself.

They actually stopped me MID RECORDING a 13 second routine because I was on a mat. I pay over $1000 a year plus competition fees and I can't record a thirteen second routine. There were at least 10
