Recent "upgrades" were to add more free weight training, remove cardio (cut elliptical by 2/3), and condense and remove resistance machines. Great if you love free weights and heavy lifting, but sucks for everyone else. Feels super cramped and uncomfortable. It's only going to get worse, Especially after new years. May have to find a new place

I like it. Not overly crowded and you get a good workout. My critiques are they need to fix the audio for the overhead TV'S so you don't have to read the closed captions to understand what's happening. Also, they could lower the A/C by 1 or 2 degrees to make it cooler.

I am the last person to ever take time out of my day to leave a review but with that being said….

There has been no access to water, neither the bottle filling station or water fountain, for over a MONTH now. For the first few weeks I tried to be understanding and was hoping that the issue would be resolved.
At this point there is no excuse for this and they need to get it fixed immediately. The only option for water as of now is paying for a water bottle at the front desk and it’s starting to seem like they just want to sell water bottles to make a few dollars.
This is so frustrating and disappointing. GET. IT. FIXED.

I stopped by to view this gym today for a brief tour in hopes of joining. Unfortunately, I had the displeasure of meeting the most disrespectful little man, with a little man complex at the desk who was both incredibly rude and offensive. He was so unpleasant and the simple conversation so toxic that I asked for anyone else but him to show me the gym. He refused, stating "HE" hadn't trained the rest of the staff standing there to do gym tours yet.

I couldn't get out of there quick enough…

On my way home I stumbled across LA Fitness on Bald Hill Rd. Walking into that gym and being treated professionally was a breath of fresh air. I was given an awesome tour of a magnificent facility from Jeff who was the nicest guy and I signed up for the year as the gym, staff and environment sold itself.

I am so grateful to the inappropriate behavior of the poorly trained and obnoxious behavior of the Planet Fitness Manager and his little man complex. Had it not been for him I would have joined that Planet Fitness and missed out on the beautiful and professional LA Fitness.

I'm thinking about sending him a "Thank You Card".

This is a large gym with plenty of up-to-date, clean and functional equipment. It can get pretty busy at peak times. However it is worth the price. The only downside is some of the employees are unfriendly.

First off.. I pay the same amount as I did before covid when it was 24hrs 5 days a week and here we are 5 years later and this place has the hour of the Dollar store down the street.
You go to another state and they have 24hr PFs so .. what's the deal? Should be a class action lawsuit in my option.
#2. This coventry PF has 75 many other machines that collect dust, but the Stairs they have 4 machines.
Now mind you one is almost Always broken!
You should see how as soon as gets off someone jumps on.
Umm how about grab a few more stair machines and take out the dust collectors???
Now if they got 2 more stair machines I might bump my review up, but not much as I am still getting screwed with the same subscription pay as others who have 24hr PFs or the one in upstate NY I visited on vacation that had Legit a whole ROW of Stair Machines!
Nevermind each machine had its own tv on it. Like wow.
Anyway you all owe everyone money who paid for 24hr 5days a week.
And get some damn stair machines in this coventry location

I've been to different Planet Fitness's this past month. I am so impressed with Coventry's Planet Fitness. It is by far the cleanest and well organized gyms of the three, out of state, I've been to. The staff are always friendly and professional. Reanna does an amazing job maintaining a friendly and welcoming environment.
I am genuinely impressed and appreciative to be part of a warm and positive community at Planet Fitness, Coventry, RI.

I go to a plane of fitness in coventry. United health has a silver sneakers program that I go there for free So I take advantage of it and try to go at least three times a week. Nice quiet, please.

Oh men has this particular location gone down the tubes. Staff no longer greets. They don't even make eye contact. Tanning machines never work properly. Machines are always dirty. Hydro beds are filthy. This location is not the location you want to be at.

I’ve enjoyed working out at Planet Fitness facilities all over the country. The equipment and amenities are consistently good at every gym I’ve visited from Maine to Florida.
The inconsistency I take issue with is with the members. There is a lack of gym adequate among the inexperienced who occupy equipment while they watch movies, text and search the web on their phones.
My time is limited and I have to maximize my gym time. I go to the gym 4 to 5 times a week and I have a plan. I work a specific body part, I utilize the Black Card amenities and I get on with my day. I don’t have the luxury to hang out while people who are oblivious or inconsiderate sit on equipment hypnotized by their phones.
It should be emphasized during the orientation process that individuals are instructed to use the equipment, be considerate of others and move on. Don’t sit there looking at your phone or rest between sets when someone is obviously waiting.
The staff should be trained to walk the floor and provide guidance to individuals who require additional instruction.
This is not just a Coventry, RI Planet Fitness gym issue, but a systemic issue that can be minimized with proper orientation and intermediate instruction as needed. Thank You in advance for addressing this issue and creating a more pleasant atmosphere for all!

While the gym itself, employees, and atmosphere are all nice enough, the payment methods are predatory.

The only way to sign up is with a bank account (routing number, account number) that will be auto-withdrawn every month. There is no way to cancel without going into the branch, or writing a physical letter requesting a cancellation.

Now, as a Gen X, I don't have stamps. Additionally, since I started not heading to this particular gym due to lifestyle changes, I obviously don't find myself in it conveniently to be able to cancel my membership.

I've been billed for over a year past my leaving the gym, and the only way to stop it without heading into the gym physically is to issue a stop payment with my bank, forcibly preventing them from withdrawing money. This service has a 1-time fee of $25 dollars for my bank, meaning it literally cost money to cancel.

This is 2023. I can cancel literally any other subscription/membership I have ever come across with a few buttons presses. The only reason for this not being an option for Planet Fitness is predatory: they know if you stop showing up, and then they make the only way to cancel either being A. Show up, or B. Go get stamps and write a physical letter, then you're probably just going to let the charge accrue.

This is financially predatory behavior and no excuse in this digital age, especially when you can literally view your charges and see everything else about your account both online and in the Planet Fitness app.

Planet Fitness is Coventry is very clean and has ample equipment. Staff is friendly but not intrusive. There is always room to work out and available machines. I really enjoyed my membership and only cancelled because i moved to a complex that has it's own gym as an amenity. PF is a very affordable option for a variety of ages and fitness levels.

I have been going to this planet fitness for almost a year. It truly is a judgement free gym. Everyone is very friendly . Seamus is there every morning promptly opening the door at 5 am. He is always extremely friendly kind and always smiling. He knows us all by name.. wonderful young man..hes always cleaning the machines .. this gym is spotless.. I love going to this planet fitness and I've been to many different gyms. GIVE SEAMUS A RAISE. !!!

This is the cleanest gym that I've ever belonged to!! The staff are always cleaning equipment, the floors, the lockers and bathrooms, etc. and I am most appreciative of this. At the height of the COVID pandemic staff would be spraying disinfectant on equipment regularly. This is most impressive!! The staff are all terrific and most helpful of members. You have the small cubby lockers that I truly appreciate that other franchise owners don't provide in their gyms. Overall I must say that I truly look forward to going to this gym. The new equipment is fantastic and I look forward to the day when you will be upgrading the massage chairs. Thanks a million!!!!

Give Sheamus a big raise! He's the best employee to work the early AM shift in the 11 years I've been coming to this gym. He is friendly, polite, and a very hard worker. He is constantly cleaning equipment, like other before him, and he does it with one eye on the front door so he can help or greet people as needed. He knows everyone's name, and not by looking at the computer either. It's a gift and he excellent. Don't lose him, give him a raise!

This gym has a large assortment and quantity of quality fitness equipment, always maintained in top notch condition. The staff works continuously, grooming all floors and machines and is always courteous and friendly. The facility is large enough that you never feel crowded. I joined up a few weeks back and have been coming regularly with my girlfriend. When We went to the gym tonight an employee named mark was behind the counter and told us that we needed to buy masks from him. We thought this was strange as no one else has ever told us this and has always provided a paper mask if we needed one. When I told him that I didn’t have my wallet with me and that We didn’t understand why he was trying to charge members for something that no other employee charged for, he responded by telling us that those are the rules and that we had to leave if we couldn’t purchase a mask from him. Just to clarify, He told us that we couldn’t workout Over a $1 paper mask that half the members in the gym weren’t wearing and every other business gives away for free. The staff here is extremely unsympathetic, unfriendly and lack any shred of customer service or common sense.
