Planet Fitness is a scam. So let's say you want to stop going, but can't get into the store anymore for 1 reason or another. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR YOU TO CANCEL YOUR MEMBERSHIP. YOU CANT CANCEL YOUR MEMBERSHIP AT ANY PF THAN THE ONE YOU SIGN UP IN. So let's say you don't pay your monthly payments for 4 months, so you owe a balance now. Here is month 5 and you think they would have gotten the hint ? NOPE STILL CONTINUES TO CHARGE UNTIL YOU PHYSICALLY GO IN AND CANCEL. They proceed to STILL charge your account after 5 months of not paying it NEVER gets cancelled and you can not simply block a reoccurring payment. Straight scam. You would think it would stop like a CC bill you haven't paid in 5 months, but nah not this place. Damn PF you must really need that money that badly huh? Atleast it wasn't for the full amount and just 1 month, you can have it

Great place to work out friendly staff, clean facility lot of machines to choose whatever work out you want to do. But my favor part of al, they have a clean bathrooms n very bright gym to workout come on down and check it out and enjoy your work out. Like I always said is not for your looks is for your health.

High school kids go for free in the summer and there’s now always kids hanging out in the locker room. I got my credit cards stolen last night. I should’ve know better and locked them up but never had an issue so I didn’t. Be careful

Edit: in response to Planet Fitness, why don’t you speak to your manager and have him clear out the locker room instead of letting it be a summer hangout?

I really love Planet Fitness! There’s such a great variety of machines and equipment, including the True Stretch apparatus and PX90-style gear. I also appreciate the clean showers and changing rooms, which make it easy to fit in a workout before or after work.

The massage chairs and HydroMassage beds are a wonderful bonus, and the in-gym monitors with guided exercises help keep me motivated. I also love that there are plenty of PF locations near both my home and workplace.

The hours are super convenient, the free weights are well-maintained, and best of all—it’s very affordable. Working out at Planet Fitness has become one of the best parts of my routine!

Ok...so I like alot of things at planet fitness BUT I will tell u i no longer like the hours and I'm looking into other gyms AND I know I'm not alone on this.. There is discontent with others as well. You use to be open 24 hrs... It doesn't have to be 24 hrs but these hours Need to be extended.. Stay open till 11:00 @ least.. Always clean, the stuff is kinda friendly, but anyway my two issues in this location are, one there’s a particular machine that we all like to use but there’s only one in the whole building, and second, the showers are far from the lockers, so we have to walk wet/wrapped in a towel across the whole room because there’s no changing rooms either

The staff in Johnston are all great people. They are super friendly and the place is always clean. My problem is that ever since the remodel, the gym is a pain in the butt to walk through. There are no straight paths, and all the weights are clustered. There is a lot of open room at the other end poorly utilized. They took out some popular machines and did not update the message chairs. Love the staff, but the facilities are my least favorite out of the four usually visit. Poor remodel.

I am a black card member and go to many Planet Fitness locations within the state. Great benefit of the Black Card! My home gym is located in Johnston RI. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The gym is always clean, and the equipment is well maintained. There are always plenty of upbeat people working out. It's just an awesome atmosphere. I can't say enough great things about Johnston Planet Fitness! From the moment you step inside, the cleanliness of the facility is immediately noticeable; everything is spotless and well-maintained. It really creates a welcoming environment for all gym-goers.

Al at the front desk deserves a special mention! His friendly demeanor and willingness to help make each visit a pleasure. He always greets me with a smile and is ready to assist with any questions I might have.

I’ve noticed that during my visits, one of your male employees exhibits inconsistent behavior along with the females will gossip about your customers. When female employees are present at the front desk, he often displays an unprofessional attitude toward customers. However, when the female staff members are not present, his demeanor is notably professional and respectful. It’s always a 50/50 on if i’m going to be treated with respect when scanning in. I’m over this gym and the employees that work behind the counter. Who wants to hear drama about people working out when you’re scanning in? cause that could be you they’re talking about.

This behavior creates an uncomfortable environment and reflects poorly on the level of service expected at your establishment. I encourage you to address this issue, as it appears to be a matter of maintaining professionalism regardless of the circumstances. NO JUDGMENT FREE ZONE, Right??

I called Planet fitness ( Johnston location ) this morning and I spoke with Monique but it was not a good experience very unprofessional from the start I call asking for a manager I had a few question to ask . Right away her tone of voice was like she didn’t wanna work there very negative attitude tells me the manager don’t work on Sunday and they don’t give away managers name she didn’t ask me what is this about didn’t ask me for my name put me on hold with out letting me know she was putting me on hold very unprofessional. Monique learn to be polite with customer. And I’m still waiting for the manager phone call.

Guy that’s balding and guy with the hat are always so miserable. I walked in and as soon as I seen there frowns I didn’t want to workout anymore. I have an injured foot and was specifically told by my doctors to not wear any sport shoes but shoes that have wide spaced such as crocs. I showed the employee my letter by the doctor and they proceeded to not care and kick me out without care.

Have been a member here for a while. They recently took out hand sanitizer and people use multiple machines at same time , people don't clean down machines and many wear inappropriate footwear yet staff only single out certain/few. Rudeness of patrons has gotten worse lately and people impeding use of machines bc they sit on machines talking on their phones and even on facetime

I used to be a patron at PF, while going there I found it totally fine, good establishment. Clean, tidy, well kept equipment.

My issue comes from trying to cancel. I haven't stepped foot in PF in over 18 months, yet I have been charged $22.21 every single month since then. I have tried NUMEROUS times to cancel, every time I get a run around. I'm told I have to come into the branch I signed up at (which is johnston RI, I now live in TEXAS) if I want to cancel. Of course this is nonsense, instead I was told I could speak to a manager and have them cancel it.

Four different times I've called this location and spoken to people who assured me they'd take my details and have a manager call me, only one of those times did they actually call me, and they insisted I need to send a hand written letter through postage to request cancellation. It's 2021. I'm not sure if I also need to pull out the rotary phone or the morse strip, perhaps a carrier pigeon? Surely a phone call with identification of payment details and a request to cancel is sufficient to any normal business, but not Planet Fitness - nevermind the fact that they haven't seen my face in nearly 2 years. Maybe they're concerned I died? Somehow money keeps coming out of my account though..

I sent the letter, lo and behold, I looked at my statements this month.. still being charged. This business is crooked. We'll see what the BBB has to say about it.

Went to Planet Fitness today to checkout their precautions, wasn't sure what to expect and was a little freaked before I got there. Was so impressed with the job they did, asked you questions at the door, all wieght staions were boxed in allowing one person at a time, hand sanitizer and sanitation stations all over. I really felt comfortable. Amazing job to all who work there, so excited to return to a more normal routine.

I'd rate differently if there weren't constant issues with my account that didn't impede me from experiencing what it's like to actually work out at Planet Fitness.
Have contacted management, they were only useful because I basically called them a couple times a week.
Not to mention VERY invasive to the point of being uncomfortable, when I called and said I'd like to cancel my membership (I had medical reasons as to why I couldn't go to the gym and they said that provable, documented medical reasons are the only eligible reason to terminate membership without paying the entire cancelation fee.
They keep charging my husband, even though we feel that they shouldn't be etcetera, etcetera.
Paid over $110 between the two of us - and continue to have to pay because my husband is still under a contract, which he shouldn't be - even though neither of us can even go anymore and my husband only went there once to tan in the entire time we had our membership.

Not a happy customer, likely won't be returning.
