“If I could give this place zero stars, I would. This morning I went as a guest with my husband, who is a Black Card member. He authorized my entry and left, and literally the next moment the manager, Earl, came at me being rude, arrogant, and disrespectful. He told me I couldn’t stay without my husband and basically kicked me out like I was trash. It was humiliating, unprofessional, and completely unnecessary. Earl has no idea how to treat people, and this gym clearly doesn’t care about guests or basic respect. The worst experience I’ve ever had in a gym, hands down. So let me start off the 2 stars is for the woman working today not this PF in general…

I signed up a few weeks ago, and sometimes I bring my electric bicycle with me. I usually leave it near the front door—just close enough to keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn’t get stolen. I typically ask the front desk staff if they can keep an eye on it, and it’s never been an issue. They usually respond with, “yeah, or sure,” which is somewhat reassuring.

Today, however, I had a different experience. I arrived on my bike and went to scan my phone to begin my workout. There was a larger woman with dark hair and glasses at the desk. I simply asked if they could keep an eye on my bike during my 30-minute workout. This time, I was told there are apparently “rules regarding motorized vehicles” and that the building’s security guard has an issue with motorcycles parked on the sidewalk—they’ll complain. I assured her it is a pedal bicycle! She essentially suggested I park my bicycle in the parking lot.(which im NOT doing)

Jokingly, I said I’d talk to the security guard after my workout to see “how mean he really is,” and she then informed me that, because my bike has a motor, it’s considered a “fire hazard,” so I can’t park it inside(which i can understand)—but I never asked to bring it inside. I always park it just close enough to see the front tire from inside the building, out of the way of anyone passing by.

At that point, I said, “ok, I’ll just do a quick workout and leave,” and as I went to scan my phone, I asked again if they could please keep an eye on the bike. The woman replied rudely, “well it’s not my job, and I’m NOT going to watch it, and I’m not responsible if anyone takes it.” I responded by saying, “wow, customer service here today is great huh?” And the man next to her even looked shocked by how she acted and treated me!

I wasn’t asking much from someone who stands at the front desk—I just wanted a little consideration, and reassurance so my bike wouldn’t get stolen. I’ve been coming here regularly, and I’ve never experienced this level of rudeness or received so many excuses from any other staff member.

After shopping around at a few other local Planet Fitness locations, I settled on this one. It is always clean, the machines are new, the Black Card amenities are always clean and empty and the staff is always helpful and within eyesight. After visiting some other PF locations, I often leave thinking “that’s what I get for not just going to Lincoln.”

I was unexpectedly laid off back in March. The gym has become one of the consistent things that I can rely on. Even the other gym regulars greet me with a friendly smile. It’s easy to feel intimidated as a visibly queer person, but I have never been made to feel uncomfortable on the gym floor or in the locker room. I ❤️this judgement free zone.

I gotta say in the 11 years I have been a black card member at Planet Fitness I have never had an issue until this Lincoln location. No other location has I ever been treated poorly like I have here. The manager earl with his discrimination, fabrications, and insults. He called me out my name and said I knew your type would be a problem all because I asked him some questions on a policy that he made up for only certain individuals. He literally was on the phone lying to his superior to cover him self. The belittling, the berating. Is supposed to be judgemental free zone and he called the police on me because when he kicked me out for having stretch pants on( not jeans) I saw nothing anywhere on my attire being wrong. 11 years a member, I know the rules and human decency. That manager is very unprofessional. He seems very flirtatious with the females though. I cannot stress enough how a guy like that with poor leadership skills would ever be allowed to continue running anywhere. It's sad really. Judgements free zone and he is selective with who he wants in the gym there according to his bias mentality. So I waited for the police cause only a guilty person would leave after doing nothing wrong and left with no issues. We are grownups, you can't speak to people like this guy did just because he is a manager. People who work 50 hours a week and want to relieve stress at the gym should not be harassed by looks due to anyone it's 2025. Pay attention to anyone that goes to this location or isn't hard to see. He also tried baiting me which I why I kept self control but I have to at least post this review among the other routes I'm in the process of taking on this individual. Very disappointed. An again this is the only location , I've ever had an issue with someone like this. I am still very happy with the other locations I frequent, North Attelborough, n.s. woonsocket, and Cumberland. Those locations really do a wonderful job with respect, communication, and maintaining their environment. If you are In the area go to one of these locations and avoid lincoln.

To the manager at the Planet Fitness in Lincoln, RI…..THANKS FOR MAKING MY SON FEEL WORSE THAN WHAT HE ALREADY FEELS ABOUT HIMSELF!!!😡😡😡 I am a black card member. I’ve brought my son before to the gym with me and not once was I questioned. I’ve brought my son to 3 other locations with me. Soon as I walk into the club in Lincoln, RI the manager was already staring at us. I go to scan my card then scan the bring your guest in card and was told by management that he can’t come in because he’s too short to be 15 years old. Like are you kidding me!?!! The guy asks for my son’s birth certificate. WHO IN WORLD CARRIES THEIR BIRTH CERTIFICATE AROUND!?!? I told him no and how dare he make such a comment in from of my son. My son has low self esteem already because of his size and only to be told now by an adult. We were embarrassed and I was extremely upset. The manager looked like he was flagging my account and told my son to take a picture because it was their “policy” to do it for any non members walking in. I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS AND IVE BROUGHT OTHERS WITH ME. What ever, I told my son to take the picture since I had a schedule to keep up with. While I was working out I seen another kid walk in the same size as my son and seen he was NOT QUESTIONED!! On our way out an employee stopped us and informed me that the manager wants my son’s “birth certificate” next time I come in. Thank you very much management for making us FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE AND NOT WELCOMED AT THE CLUB!!! Looking into other gyms now because how he treated us was unbelievable. He should really be fired for that!!! I will be filing a complaint!!

This was my first time at the Lincoln PF location. I called before arriving to confirm they had the The Total Body Enhancement machine as well as classes. All my questions were answered and I felt confident going in.
Upon arriving, 11 am on a Friday, I received a friendly welcome from the gentleman behind the counter. Checked in using the scanner.

I was happy the floorplan was well laid out and everything was easy to find.

I proceeded to the locker room. Very clean and updated. 1 large changing stall, 3 showers (a bit smaller than other PF's), 3 sinks, and several toilets. The locker room area was large as well.

I headed over to the spa. There is a kiosk to check into the amenities which was easy to use and I didn't have to wait long. The Spa (Black Card only) was spacious and clean.
The TBE machine seemed brighter and newer than the one I had used at another location.
There were also a few amenities, I had not seen like Hybrid Tanning.

The gym equipment is newer also, there are some + & -. Overall, really liked the ability of the machines to count reps and keep time especially when you stop, it will track your rest between sets.

I'm located within 10-20 min drive of several PF locations, this is the only one with a professional trainer/classes (For all members not just Black Card) that is why I choose to try it out.

I met with the trainer Chris. He was very professional, personable & knowledgeable.
He spent time asking some background questions as well as what my fitness goals are.
He was happy to design a program or run a class or just show me around and answer my questions.
In the short time I was there he showed me a few techniques using the machines that will definitely enhance my workouts.

I was sad to hear there are not a lot of people taking advantage of the classes but rather designing their own workouts which is fine as well. I think the classes are a great opportunity to meet other like-minded people and even support/accountability.

I plan on going back to this location on a regular basis.

Avoid Planet Fitness if you possibly can! The gym in Lincoln NE is dirty, constantly broken machines, low batteries etc. I canceled my membership because I was told cancel anytime no problem. Upon canceling was charged another month that wasn't even here yet. Talked to a manager who actually laughed when I told him I felt they were stealing from me. They suck join at your own risk!!

I'm still very new to Planet Fitness but so far, it's been a great experience. There are a good variety of machines to choose from and there are usually enough that are available every time I've been. I would recommend the black card membership since you get many more benefits with it..You can go to ANY Planet Fitness, use their hydro massage chairs (which I highly recommend after your workout) and you can also bring one guest with you per visit ! Also, each Planet Fitness facility I have been to has been very clean and the air seems clean. From what I understand, they all have an air filtration system, a big plus ! I would recommend PF to anyone.

Only downside:
Wish they had more then one preacher curl machine as it's used often and sometimes people just sit on it and use their phones.
I've seen quite a few people lingering around the machine waiting and wish they had 2 of these like Smithfield did. (Far back machine) the other curl machine is not as good. There are multiple double cybex machines. This one needs to have 2.

As a person who has been at/in a gym for 40+ years all over America and even some other countries,I can say the PF philosophy is great. This isn't a hard-core, beast-mode, or power lifting gym. That is my other gym that I go to for a heavy, hard blasting workout. But in between, I go to PF. Once you realize that this gym chain is for a modest workout or activity, you will see the positives. It's a fitness facility that functions well, has decent equipment, is immaculately clean, orderly, and neat ( for a gym ), and seems to always have really personable staff.
Another nice perk is that they routinely upgrade equipment and even renovate the facility. Not many gyms do that these days.
So for a well-rounded, all welcome fitness facility, top-notch.

This planet fitness is a little hard to find, but I know that it’s in back of Stop & Shop inside the set up a bit different and will take getting used to it. Not sure what is with the ventilation it does smell like a shoe store in there if you Notice it. I am a planet fitness member and I decided to check out the Lincoln Planet fitness since I live 5 minutes away. I am disappointed with how much equipment they have. Only 8 elipticals and there aren’t duplicate equipments, usually the other planet fitness I’ve been to have at least 2 or 3 of the same equipments. The only thing I enjoyed about this planet fitness is how amazing the massage chairs are.

Really a great place to workout. Management is very good. Employees are friendly and knowledgeable. Locker rooms and workout floor are relatively very clean.
One thing that management has to enforce is the signs stating that all cell phone conversations will be done in lobby.
It is so irritating when someone is using their phone to talk about absolutely nothing and it is done right next to someone using a machine.
Or another person that can't read.. pacing the floor with their phone blasting away the conversation. I have been in other Planet Fitness locations and it's not the same.

Great gym. The spin and fitness classes are awesome. The instructors are very enthusiastic, energetic, and make the workouts enjoyable and me wanting more. It is very clean and has plenty of great equipment. You can't find too many gyms that offer what Maxx Fitness in Lincoln offers. Staff is courteous and super friendly. I've been a member since 2014, and have had nothing but positive experiences at Maxx in Lincoln. Because of Maxx in Lincoln, I've been able to maintain my fitness goals. The Maxx in Lincoln is certainly a 100% better than any Planet Fitness!!!!!

This could be a great gym. Right now it’s adequate. I am former master trainer from LA Fitness, which was is the best, Due to injuries, I had to retire. But, your place would be much better with an older, experienced, staff, including experienced mature trainers who can make training enjoyable with reasonable pricing. Do yourself a favor and avoid this gym. I was a member of the Providence location back in 2017-2018ish. That location closed and my membership was somehow “transferred” to the Lincoln location without my consent. From what I remember they made you sign something to cancel in Providence. Fast forward 5 years and they continue to constantly harass me through texts and phone calls to tell me my Lincoln membership is past due and I owe over $800 that will go to “collections”. I have emails from a so called manager that this issue was resolved back in 2020. Their “corporate” line they give me goes right to voicemail and haven’t received a recent callback. Very shady practices!

Everything is good until you decide to cancel your membership. I payed fees to cancel it before the yearly contract ends and they still charged me the monthly fee for the upcoming month. I called constantly to ask for my refund. I talked to the manager Andrew who sounded promising and supposedly had my info on his desk. He said he will call me as soon as he gets the approval to refund me. 3 months later, I never heard back nor got my money back. This is not how you manage a place and a refund shouldn't be as hard to give especially when you are charging my card without my consent in error.

First impression was good with day passes. Went to sign up for membership and they charged me $15.00/mnth despite signs/flags everywhere promoting $10.00/mnth membership.

Mentioned to me that the "recession" is the reason for the increased price. That's fine, but take the point of purchase material down, maybe?

My husband and I have been members here for over a year. We have trained several times a week with the Maxx Fitness Trainers, me since Dec. 2021 and my husband since June 2022, and have been beyond pleased with our results.

Trainers Andrew and AJ are passionate about health, wellness and fitness and understand that physical fitness goes beyond the physical body.

Our overall mental health and wellness has increased exponentially while developing a positive “I can do it” mindset.

Trainers not only demo each move, but explain the purpose of the movement and which muscles to engage.

As a Certified Personal Trainer myself who has worked at many fitness locations throughout RI and MA, their training, passion, encouragement and support is top notch!

They truly care about each and every client.

I have received amazing results with both Andrew and AJ and watched my body change into a younger, more energetic version, reversing the clock and restoring my overall wellness at the foundational level.

My husband had a full rotator shoulder cuff replacement in February 2022 and a knee replacement in December 2022. The Trainers helped post Physical Therapy to get back 95% of his original shoulder capacity.

He trained 3 times a week pre-hab for knee replacement over the last 3 months.

His Doctor, Physical Therapist, and hospital team were blown away at his capacity to move after surgery, at 90% flexibility just one week out!

I would highly recommend Andrew and AJ for any pre-hab, re-hab or overall strength and conditioning, no matter age or stage of fitness.

Both Trainers exceed any Training Team I have ever worked with, both personally and professionally! They really know their stuff!

We don’t see ourselves stopping any time soon!

The strength, balance, endurance, flexibility, mobility and power we now have emulates most people 1/2 our age! We are 62 and 64 years young.

I wish every fitness center were lucky enough to have highly skilled, passionate trainers like we have here. I can speak from personal experience. They are rare and hard to find!

The gym environment is amazing as well as the staff especially the kid with the bandanna he makes the best shakes there the only thing I wish they would do is add a hack squat and expand the gym so there is more room to workout in other than that it’s the best gym around. 💪

Don’t show up when the gym opens on the weekend. No one will be there to open the gym because they “overslept” or some other bogus excuse. The employees there just don’t care about opening up on time. So now 25 people have to wait and put their weekends on hold because some person can’t wake up. It’s not the first or last time this will be happening. Highly disappointed. Especially since they just raised the price of monthly memberships. Be better please. Like a lot better

I’ve been a member of this gym for over 10 yrs. There’s plenty of equipment to use it’s very spacious and the people are very friendly. the downside is the ladies room definitely needs some work. The lockers are half broken they need to be repaired & there’s been a bathroom stall that’s been out of working condition for months. It definitely needs more attention to cleanliness

I have blown over $1200 here in less than 4 months. First off I will say the gym and personal trainer have been a good experience. My problem is with the manager Andrew and the contracts he tricked me into. "Sign this...it's just for the machines/ equipment" and "No need to read these...it's all very repetitive". Now I am locked into hundreds of dollars in fees, personal training beyond the term I wanted, and manager Andrew unresponsive. I saw this coming weeks ahead of time but could not stop it. They have you sign on a screen separated from the contracts themselves, so you can't see what you're signing. Andrew if you see this I am really disappointed, this has ruined the experience which was otherwise good, your company needs to address this.

this gym is often VERY crowded with limited supply of workout machines. But the real kicker here is the membership cancellation. I moved over 1 year ago, and cancelling this policy was way too stressful for someone that had not used the gym in over a year. If this gym is closest to you and you HAVE to go here, fine, but if you can choose any other gym please go to that one. not worth the stupid fees and stress trying to get out of your membership.

This gym has a daycare schedule that they never actually abide by. On numerous occasions I’ve went to the gym with pre workout in me with my son and the daycare is closed when I get there. The schedule and the website says it’s open but this gym creates their own schedule so if you have kids don’t even waste your time. I’d give it zero stars if I could. Bathrooms are FILTHY too

I’m so disappointed in the direction this gym has headed. I joined last year and loved it. The staff was always kind, it wasn’t ever overly crowded, generally clean. Over the last 3 months or so I’ve noticed a decline in all areas. Yesterday was the final straw for me. I went in to workout with my daughter in tow (kids care opens at 9am and I’ve been awake and ready to go since 7:30am) only to get there and be told I cannot work out because their staff member called in sick. Totally fine, people call out and short staffing is a rampant issue everywhere. However, the “manager” (I use the term loosely as he is 26 at most and honestly, super rude) doesn’t offer a solution. To me, any good manager will step in and step up and run the kids care for the next 3 hours so other moms/dads can get a workout in for a bit on sanity and alone time. All he did was shrug and tell me he was “too busy” today to step in because he “had packages to sign for.” Seriously?? I told him I was unhappy because I pay extra for my membership for kids care and asked if she could sit quietly next to me while I got in a quick workout. His suggestion to me was to drop down to the membership without the kids care- sir, that doesn’t help me because I HAVE A KID! I can’t exactly give her away 😅. Just the entire exchange had me realizing this was no longer a gym I wanted to belong to if that’s how they treat their members.

This “gym” has been texting me for over two years and refuses to stop. They act more like telemarketers than gym employees. I was a member at their Providence location, which closed without notice. Somehow the Lincoln location has my contact information. I never signed up nor agreed to change locations. I have made many attempts to correct this issue. The managers, Josh and Matt may be fictional characters. I have asked to speak with them, and they always seem to have left for the day or are not in yet. I’ve left my name and number and asked for a call back, which has never happened. I have filed a few complaints with Rhode Island attorney general, and I will be filing suit if the harassment continues. Avoid this location. Avoid maxx fitness. They text asking for money but hide from even a phone call.

I have been in this gym since its opening, the price is OK, location also convenient and to tell you the truth I never had a problem before until 2021. I don't think the bathrooms are cleaned every day, but like I do not use them, don't care. I had two main issues that's why I am leaving today. Issue one, on Sundays, there is not staff to open the gym at 7:00 am and it happened to me more than several times, and second issue, the most important, someone opened an account for private training under my name, I did not opened this training because I have injuries in my hill and knee. My husband asked if I was training and I said no I am not because my pains and during very active COVID19 season and not vaccines. My husband tried to ask about the matter to front desk staff, they could not solve anything, manager the same, very rude and unhelpful and really hard to contact him, I guess he doesn't have regular schedule, and when I finally spoke to him, just to tell me they will not pay me back because there is a contract signed by me, which it has a signature that is not mine, but he insisted is mine with not proof. I paid for months somebody's training and at the end it was my credibility, honorability, and word put in the trash, instead of finding the truth, corporation has a telephone number that never answers???? what kind of company is this?? The only thing I will miss after all this years, are the Zumba instructors Franky, Sarah, Megan and the Italian heritage girl excellent class. BE CAREFUL AND CHECK MONTHLY YOUR AUTOMATIC ONLINE PAYMENTS, SO YOU DO NOT HAVE A SURPRISE LIKE I DID, AND THE WORST IS THAT THEY DON'T WANT TO REIMBURSE YOUR MONEY! They don't deserve a loyal customer like me, when they do wrongs things to your billing account, they throw the ball as far as they can, they do not take responsibility for their actions, horrible management!

I do not recommend this gym, they lock you into a contract then lie about the fees you will be charged. I was lied to twice by the manager Josh who said that he could freeze my account and that I would not be charged. They are very unprofessional and refuse to take any accountability. Do not become a member of this gym 👎

BUYER BEWARE! Especially if you sign up specifically for the KidZone option. I signed up in June and the first time I went with my child it went smoothly, BUT after that it was horrible. The second time I went the person who works the KidZone was 45 min late! Then the next week they weren’t going to be there because it was their birthday. Ok…. And for the last three months the gym has been unable to consistently provide the service. When I went in to cancel, I was told I had signed a contract and would pay a fee. I pointed out that I signed a contract to which they have been unable to keep their end of the agreement. When asked to speak to cooperate, I was told they are almost impossible to get ahold of. So basically the gym wants to break their contractions agreement but won’t let me break mine. I don’t know if people understand how hard it is to maintain a consistent workout schedule when you are a single mother of two young children. I am completely disgusted with this gyms lack of professionalism. DO NOT sign up if you are a parent and plan to use KidZone.
