Manager at this location is very rude. Before he showed up to do his own "work out". I punched in to see what my husband wanted for dinner because he was at the gym before I got there. I then went to the stop and shop next to planet fitness to get food and then sat in the lobby waiting for my husband. Reminder I punched in first. He comes over telling I need to leave if I am not going to work out. I stated to him I already punched in. He instead I didn't and demanded my name. I gave him my name and told him if he had an issue I can go get my husband. He just urned around and went all the way back to where he was working out. He isn't even working. He is taking his personal time to work out and bother people that are not doing anything wrong. This is also not the only other time he has been rude to us and the people we work out with. This place doesn't make us feel welcomed and more judged with this one person. I don't know his name I just know he is a manager and that's what he said his position was.

I just love how this place says. It's a judgment free zone. But the first thing that I get through the door is judgment. The moment I put my squatting shoes down after I got done using them, then be told that, you know, it doesn't matter about my workout. Then I need to stop what I'm doing and put them away. Bro, why you judging you're breaking your policy? My guy, I'm not gonna stop my workout and my rhythm. Just to put some shoes away makes no sense

I never thought that going to the gym would be so enjoyable. It is something I’ve always wanted to make going to the gym a priority in my life & to do it consistently 🏃‍♂️‍➡️🥵 There's also the benefit that I do so with my 73-year-old father. That being said the staff there especially Anthony & Chelsy make your day❣️😊 I can’t say enough about the rest of the staff as well, but I’ve only really interacted with them because every time I walk in they say hi they know my name and just when you thought that customer service is gone because everybody seems so miserable, you need two of the best manager and assistant manager I can’t say enough about those two. The gym is clean and serene. I highly recommend it. Everyone knows going back to the gym after not going for a while seems like a task nope not here and everyone that goes there. This is the best Planet Fitness in RI. The entire staff in NK are all super nice! The equipment is clean, and up to date. The gym layout is perfect. Who ever selected where the gym equipment pieces go, knows what they are doing. The bathroom is always clean, and you wont see a speck of dust on any of the equipment. Oh and the hydro-massage chairs work great. (They arent half broken like other PFs I have gone to.) The tanning booths are also great and up to date.
The ONLY negative is the parking lot! The potholes need to go! Omg. Lol.
This gym is still my #1, even w the potholes!

Great gym, clean and nice staff. No issues here. They have a ton of machines. I just wish they had regular bench presses. They only have the ones on tracks, which don’t work your muscles the same. Also, please make it so you can cancel online. That is my biggest complaint with you. If you can sign up online, you can cancel online. It is a tactic to keep your money and make it an inconvenience to leave. I wont take off a star because all gyms do it, but be the gym to change that silly rule.

This company is out to steal your money. I have to completely change my checking account because they find ways to charge your account even after you put a stop payment from this merchant with your bank. I called to cancel non contractual memberships I signed up for for a week and wasn’t allowed to do so. I’ve never heard of a gym asking for a credit card and a checking account number, it’s a way to steal your money even after you try to cancel.

To club owner- yeah, like I’m going to take the time out to my busy schedule to call or come in and speak to the rude sales person I already attempted to cancel my memberships with. When I asked her why she told my husband and I to sign up for two black memberships when he could have just been my guest for the week she told me verbatim “I don’t read minds” and “she gave us what we wanted.” I have never dealt with such poor customer service. I would rather pay 100/month at a gym who’s employees know how to speak to customers with tact and class. I don’t want to come in or deal with this business ever again. And had she she let me cancel one of the non contractual memberships, I probably would have kept mine. Instead I keep getting charges to my checking account and have to go through the hassle of changing my checking account and disputing charges. How about you cancel the memberships and let people cancel them easily in the future?

Really like working out here. Equipment is decent and the staff are always cleaning. I've had very positive interactions with all staff EXCEPT Nick. He's really strict for lack of a better word. Telling people make it quick bathroom needs to be serviced or really scrutinizing your membership and whatnot. He stops a lot of people and questions them when they're scanning the barcode. He's annoying and does not add to a positive experience for working out. He eats at the desk as well which is not professional in my opinion. Overall, Zach the blonde woman and the rest of the staff are amazing, but this Nick needs to find a job not dealing with the public.

In North Kingstown the equipment is good. A nice variety. Staff is friendly at the door and helpful. However I had a bad experience with a male with black glasses, an attending worker. He just walked in the lady's locker room unannounced with a little duster stick in hand and quickly dusted a small sign on the wall. Walked in the changing and bathroom area with no regard of women changing up naked. He claimed he was told to "dust" the signs doing his job. Really? What an excuse to look at naked women. Its wrong and he should be stopped from this behavior. He's a peeping Tom and should be fired! No excuse for not announcing himself and no need to dust a small sign on the wall while women are changing at 12 noon.

Staff is not very friendly! I walk in each time and say hello or good morning. Most times is goes unrecipricated. The manager prior was much better. New location is much worse as there is poor ventilation. Very poor customer service! Some of the people are horrible to deal with. Planet Fitness is totally unprofessional and gives horrible customer service. Think TWICE before joining. I never signed a contract with them my X Husband did however I was paying for my Son’s membership. I cancelled as they said you had to by mail to find out it has to be certified mail. I was charged for 4 months and then charged an addition $39.00 I don’t understand why they didn’t call me when they received my cancellation to tell me it had to be by certified mail other than the fact they just want my money and to rip their members off. DO NOT join unless you want to be stolen from as well. I’m filing in small claim court and sueing them my lawyer said I’d win because I have no contract with them. It’s the principal of the matter. I called Corporate and received a phone call from Courtney being told too bad nothing they could do to help me. Now that I call horrible customer service!! Thanks for stealing from me Planet Fitness if you steal from just 100 ppl your club stole $ 3990 from our community. I am a regular gym goer and because of the nature of my work, I pretty much end up going to a different gym at least once a week. Which gives me a lot of room to compare. This is definitely one of the better PFs out there. The equipment is up to date, in fact most of the weight equipment is more up-to-date than I've seen at any other PF. All of the weight machines that I used, had electronic timers and rep counters built into them. Which I have never seen before at a PF.
The place feels clean. They have an updated locker room.

The only negative I can really think of is that the shower stalls do not have any kind of shelf for soap or body wash. And the hooks that the shower curtains are hung with are very fickle.

Terrible customer service!! No commitment my butt, what they mean is NO commitment to their members. I moved 1800 miles away and no longer need or want my membership. They tell me the only way to cancel is to send a letter or go in person, which is impossible. The regional manager (Courtney) denied me service for having a past due on my account, but acknowledged that, though i am currently being billed, I won't be allowed to workout at the North Kingstown location. Altogether she was unprofessional and unhelpful in resolving my problem. This is farthest from the normal friendly and helpful staff that I am used to. I hope they include customer service as part of their training for their staff going forward, as a gym touting the slogan "judgement free zone", was not my experience today.

As for the "response" from the owner below, I was attending regardless of my past due for about 3 weeks before it was decided a past due from a year prior needed to be paid. This may or may not be corporate regulation to choose who is and isn't allowed to attend the gym depending on the circumstances, but fails incredibly to address the experience I had had at the gym. If anything, the below response from the owner only goes farther to highlight how little that location and by extension planet fitness cares about the experience at their gyms. As the owner, I would think you would care more about how bad the interaction was at your gym, rather than stating what the rude regional manager had already informed me of.

A tip for the owner: Google actually offers suggestions on how to respond to negative reviews, I'd suggest taking a look into that.

Covid concerns have many of the stations flagged to provide social distancing, but that's to be expected. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Cleaning supplies were both readily available and frequently used by the members. Probably as good as it gets during a pandemic. Definitely check it out!

During the entire COVID-19 crisis I have not been to PF and do not plan on going. So I tried to cancel my membership over the phone, and was told I am not allowed to, I need to come into the facility. Are you kidding me?? Is this how you deal with customers during a crisis. There has been little to no communication from PF during this but they have no problem hitting me for the monthly membership fee and the yearly fee. Very unprofessional company and only looking out for their bottom line. I can't imagine how much money they have made during this crisis by lack of communication or support for their customer.
