I belong to this couple years back when they had the pool and basketball courts. I've been going for 2 weeks and they have the basketball court shut down because of a broken cable which looks like a quick fix. The courts are still not up and running? The pool is being renovated and it's down for 2 months. These added features are what draws you to a place like this and they both shut down? Hopefully they get these things fixed soon and back on schedule because it doesn't look good.

Depending on which one you visit, you'll get a different experience every time ..the one is Warwick for instance, they have two young cats running the front check in, theyre only pleasant to the ",beautiful ones" .. their motto of no judgement is absolutely absurd bc it is NOT the vibe. But then you go over to Plainfield st & you get the woman who are in competition with one another ..who can take the best "fake workout pics" ,& talk about cellulite that doesn't exist...Oh ,& the dudes there are no better ..looking at us chubbies like we aren't there for the same reasons, making people fell super uncomfortable...We called corporate about these behaviors it was THAT bad ..it's all in who they hire ..I'm currently going to the one in Johnston and I must say they are the nicest by far ..super motivational and definitely there to cheer you on not make in fun of you as you pass by...I'm not impressed with planet fitness at all ..hire better staff and let them recite KINDNESS MATTERS until they understand it!!!!

I had a great experience at Planet Fitness in Warwick. The gym is clean, the equipment is in good condition, and ESPECIALLY the staff! Thank you Lindsey B. and Elijah Y. They are the reason I’d go back to that location. They were incredibly friendly and went the extra mile to make me feel welcome. As soon as I walked in they both greeted me with a smile as if I had been going to that location forever. I should’ve mentioned that this location isn’t my home so I was very apprehensive about going in. HOWEVER, the way they greeted me changed all that! They create such a positive and supportive environment, which makes working out there a great experience. I can’t thank Lindsey & Elijah enough for making me feel welcome. I said this about Planet Fitness (home gym) just when you think customer service is gone I met Lindsey & Elijah!

I also forgot to mention that man up front. His name starts with an E. But, he was very helpful in modeling how to work the smith machine when performing squats. So professional! James is also a wonderful individual. Very respectful to us elders. I also want to mention Janelle who is a sweetheart. She reminds me of my granchildren who is polite and kind. Lastly, Mackenzie, she was helpful in navigating the massage machine. I didn't know you had to put token in there! This gym is by far the best! Thank you all for the help you provide.

Hi I tried to go in for a workout this evening and was quickly told by one employee that “crocs aren’t allowed” which is crazy because I thought it was a judgement free zone and I’m feeling very much judged for wearing crocs to the gym. This is apparently a policy that none of the employees seem to follow except for one Elijah! I see numerous people a day workout with crocs / slides on, my bestfriend wore them to the gym this morning. Not to mention numerous gyms across the country allow crocs/ slides closed toed backless shoes etc. planet fitness wonders why people don’t want to go to their gyms this is why you claim to be a judgement free zone but your not , honestly do better

I love this planet fitness! My home club is the Coventry one but a friend who showed me how to use the machines goes to this location so now im comfortable here! Huge shout out to staff at the end of my story!

I was a member at the Warwick ave location and was told that no PF in Rhode Island held fitness classes, but one day while working out at Bald Hill location I noticed a trainer. A couple days later the trainer was walking around cleaning machines and I asked if there are classes at this location. He said absolutely. I called Warwick ave to transfer my home gym; whom said they can not because I haven’t had my member ship for 90+ days. (I had a membership for 3 years, canceled when I was 8 months pregnant and re opened at 6weeks pp). Kristie at the front desk of Bald hills location was able to do a hard transfer and I was able to book my first class today! Huge shout out to Kristie and the planet fitness staff at this Bald Hill location. Fabulous work !!

I've been to many gyms in my day, former bodybuilder, still going strong at 70. This is THE CLEANEST gym I have ever encountered! Most everyone cleans the machines before & after use. Locker room is immaculate! Staff is friendly & always cleaning the facility.

Most members are using a cardiac /weight loss program. I tend to stay with my weight program. There are enough free weights for my program at my age, I am very happy with the equipment. True, no muscle-heads, I went through that mode when I was young, no more.

Most members are quiet, but friendly. I usually focus on my workout, like most people here.

All said and done, this is a great no hassel, no nonsense gym, and most "bang for the buck"! You can't go wrong with $10 month

As a father of 3 little ones , I had a very terrible experience at PF at Bald Hill Rd. Was trying to report a member issue and in trying to speak to manager they began screaming at me to “get the hell out” . I asked for what reason? And then asked to cancel my account. They then continued to scream at me that he was calling the police. As a minority w/ special needs never had been so discriminated for no reason besides trying to file a complaint and then had called cops by staff but even they said I did no wrong. Was very dehumanizing treatment by Planet Fitness so called “judgement free zone”.. not case at all & treat members horribly.

Is a very nice gym. I never had any issues working out here. Good machines and dumbbells. Canceling was very easy. Staff always friendly and greeted me upon entry. I canceled because I joined the next level gym. It can get busy and cables fill up quickly. Early morning/early afternoon is the best time to go. Great beginner gym.

Lately the club has not been as clean as it used to be. There is always a lot of water on the counters near the sinks in the ladies room. Last night the baskets in the gym were very full and the spray bottles to clean were almost empty. The manager seemed annoyed when I brought it to her attention but she said they would take care of it. It seems like the help is standing around. With the previous manager the staff was always cleaning and checking the rest rooms hourly.

I've been going to this gym for years and I enjoyed it because its on the larger side. But today I am walking out and I hear the kids working at the desk say as I am walking out "who does he think he is, Joe cool?" I'm assuming its because I didn't say goodbye but seriously I am just there to get a workout in and leave. Some people work third-shift and are exhausted enough as it is. So much for a "judgement-free zone" because I feel judged by the employees every time I walk in there. Even when your at the dumbbells you look over and see them snickering and giggling to each other almost every time. It gets to a point where its just super uncomfortable and I am done going to this gym. It also makes no sense to have a group of kids at the front desk doing absolutely nothing. That place could be run with two people max, a trainer and a person at the front desk. You think these places would have friendly and kind staff but its always the same type of people, rude and judgmental.

I like this location better than the previous bald hill location. Less traffic and more convenient location. most of the equipment is similar but some of it is new and generally well kept up with. Much cleaner nowadays. Even has a clean men's locker room which is uncanny of a gym. The early morning staff that is there when I'm there is friendly. Most gym members are either friendly, keep to themselves or provide entertainment. Great gym.

After having a total knee replacement in August, a friend asked me if I wanted to go Planet Fitness with her as a guest. I did and honestly wasn’t expecting to see a significant change in my operated knee but to my amazement, I was more limber and felt noticeably better in general… after the first visit!
Since physical therapy is limited to you becoming “functional” and my personal recovery goal was to be even better than before my diagnosis, going here just made sense.
Since then we noticed a substantial increase in workout equipment as well as completely new types fitness equipment. I don’t know if this is in anticipation of the inclement winter weather here in Rhode Island or if it’s just standard practice but it definitely didn’t go unnoticed!
This review is for the Planet Fitness location at the RI Mall in Warwick since I have yet to go to any of their other locations.

I had the pleasure of speaking to a very personable staff member named Ann Marie, who I found to be very knowledgeable, completely professional and unbelievably patient as she gladly answered the many questions I had about joining.

My original intention was to get a Classic membership at 10.00 per month but after speaking with her, I was so impressed that I ultimately signed up for the PF Black Card Membership at 24.99 a month which entitles you to everything PF has to offer, including bringing a guest with you for free! I can downgrade my Black Card membership at any time but I want to take advantage of the personal trainer that’s also included since my goal is strengthening my knee and a 100% recovery.

It’s not often that I write long reviews but here, I feel that its necessary….
I honestly can’t recommend them enough and wish I could rate them more than 5 stars!!

Great gym for the price and my target exercise routine. I'm not looking to rip a phone book in half, or run up and down a mountain. Just looking to get in middle aged man shape. It's at a perfect location for me, so works out well.

They keep the equipment clean. The staff is always friendly. Not really packed too much when I go, so I have no issue getting my routine done.

Recently purchased a house in Warwick and needed a spot to continue pursuing fitness goals that I've achieved over the past 3 or so years (65 pounds down and maintaining). This gym has everything you could need and has very convenient hours, particularly if you workout in the AM before work. The staff is courteous and always tries to greet you at the door, and they make sure to keep the floors clean throughout the day; constantly on the move either inspecting the equipment or disinfecting. I mostly work on cardio and basic resistance machines however there's plenty of available machines at the ready even during busy hours. Great location, well worth the $10/month.

Water fountain is constantly "broken" (and by that I mean they disabled it on purpose so they can force you to buy overpriced water bottles from them). Should be illegal for a gym to operate without one. They also have no rowing machines and only 3 stairclimbers (one of which is also frequently broken). They also have no plans to go back to being open 24 hours a day, but still advertise themselves as a 24-hour gym.
