We just had such a positive first experience taking our 2 children (5 and 7) here. You can fill out forms online ahead of time, which makes getting in and geared up way faster. The orientation left me feeling confident and comfortable, and after that my kids climbed for almost 2 hours and loved every second. It was so amazing to watch them explore the different courses and get better and better with each attempt. They left feeling excited and eager to go back for more!

With 45 ft walls, makes for a real challenge. Challenges your stamina, your endurance and yourself. Great atmosphere and great Staffing, for people who like to climb. Two downsides. First one, GPS rarely sucks at getting you here. GPS will tell you to go left, instead of staying on the road that swoops around to the right. And put you in a parking lot that does not attach to the building. Second one, it shares a parking lot with Whalers Brewery. If Whalers Brewery is open it's very hard to find a parking spot. But it truly is a great place that's why I give it 5 stars. Two floors, with Boulder and climbing on both floors.

For starters, I just want to be clear that everyone who works here is super nice and I support the employees completely, including in everything they stand for. However, there are a couple major gripes I have with management.
If you want to workout before your typical work day begins (i.e. before 9am) it's not possible because they don't open before then. So the only choice this leaves you with is going after your typical work day ends (5pm-ish). This means you have to deal with the massive crowds that form from their team/camp at that time.
Could not be happier that rock climbing is becoming bigger and they are getting an awesome team, however, these team members are definitely getting out of school before 5pm, so why can't the team start around when they get out? If you are an adult with typical job hours then you are stuck with having limited routes due to the footprint the team takes up and never really getting to enjoy the gym to the fullest. It's awesome kids these days have the opportunity to go to a rock gym. Most of us adults never had the chance, it would nice if we could get even a little time where the gym isn't absurdly crowded.
Again, this ENTIRE issue could also be resolved if they just opened up earlier. Even 7am would be fine, that's not asking much, and it is a simple solution.
One more gripe is that this week the entire downstairs section (all the large walls worth climbing) is closed for an entire week due to a competition. Essentially 25% of this month will be closed to climbing the best routes, and they did not offer a prorated monthly rate or anything.
Instead, they offer a suggestion to go to their Lincoln location or their Wallingford one. I won't even address the latter location because that is comically far away for anyone who lives in southern RI to go to, especially on a work night. As far as Lincoln goes, it's still not close to the southern part of the state and has anyone there even tried driving up that way during rush hour? Not a practical suggestion at all.
This is yet another issue with a simple solution, offer a pro-rated rate/refund for one week's worth to their members. I have yet to hear anything about this from management. Just an obviously poor way to treat your loyal members.
Overall, I want to reiterate that the employees are FANTASTIC. They have always been nothing but polite, helpful, and courteous.
My issue is with management/ownership, and it's a shame that they make these unpopular decisions/non-decisions that negatively impact the experience for so many members, especially after raising membership costs. I have talked to numerous ones who feel the same way and would like to see changes made as well.
EDIT: I just want to say one more comment about the hours. I could see any business owner saying that in order to open earlier they need to pay more in wages. Of course, I would not argue that. But another simple solution is to just close earlier, particularly on weekends. The vast majority of people are not going to a rock gym at 10pm. Those hours would clearly be better served in the morning, another thing many members have agreed with me about.

Been a few times. Such a great experience bouldering. I am an intermediate climber and I love it. Providence is better for bouldering. Eve was great and the customer service is amazing. Super nice. Thank you Eve!

We held a birthday party at the Peacedale Rock Spot and I highly recommend the venue and the staff. I appreciated that they had a designated coordinator who helped with the set-up logistics. And the on-site staff on the day of the event were excellent - they were engaging and adept at safely managing an active party of 7- and 8-year olds. Received lots of positive feedback from both parents and kids that they really enjoyed the party.

Just spent a great day with our 2 boys here. Love that it was an all day pass so we could leave and come back later. Lots of options for climbing, they were first timers. Equipment was very easy to use, staff was very nice and very helpful. Looks like there were options for lots of difficulty levels too.

This place is AWESOME! Great range of difficulty, even my four year old felt confident climbing. Stuart was nice, he helped us and was able to answer all questions that we had. We will definitely be coming back and would recommend others to come check it out as well!

Iβm always happy with Rock Spot whether itβs just climbing or booking an event with them; everyone is so nice and helpful.
Recently we decided to give their indoor summer camp a try for my shy 6 year old. She was clinging to me as I dropped her off on the first day because she didnβt know anyone in camp that week and it was her first time. By the time I picked her up 7 hours later, she scolded me for βpicking her up earlyβ and she showed me how she learned to boulder by climbing all the way up on her own! She had so much fun here and raved about the counselors and games they played. She came home telling me riddles and bragging about her new friends. Itβs been such a great experience!

I canβt say enough great things about this place! The staff is awesome! So friendly. My family climbs but I mostly hang and read on the comfy couch in the lobby. Every person working is professional! They encouraged me to try it out and I did eventually. Itβs such a welcoming environment! The walls get changed up so you never get bored. They do competitions and are very knowledgeable!

Day passes are so worth it. Kids and I can go home for meals and rest up in-between sessions. Staff is always really friendly and helpful even with my wild tribe of children. π
While I've been there, it has never really been too busy to feel crowded. Good people, good energy, community feel. πππ

Very good place for climbing and bouldering. The height of top rope is a little bit higher than the one in Lincoln. There is a sliding pond above the second floor, which is sooooo fun! Spent a good Sat here!

Great routes, tall walls, love the autobelays. I don't think the facility is very impressive though...there's only one beat-up dysfunctional cardio machine and no weights, so there's not really an option here besides climbing and bodyweight exercises.

Great gym, great problems, but a bit expensive for day passes. I love Rock Spot, this gym is no exception. My only problem with the company is how expensive there passes are. I long to take my friends more frequently, but none of them are currently students and memberships / passes are prohibitively expensive for non-students.

Absolutely the most "chill" place I have ever been. They are not trying to milk you for your money or push products, will answer 1001 questions happily, and the atmosphere is communal, and relaxing. I usually go in the early afternoon with my almost 5yo daughter. Definitely would recommend to any, and everyone to try at least once.

Place is decently sized and provides enough variety in top roping, lead climbing, and bouldering problems to keep it interesting. Very popular spot for college students, which is a plus. One negative is that it can be very hectic sometimes when they host child parties there. Need to watch out for the little ones.

This place is terrible.
- its small
- its crowded
- its poorly managed
- its over priced
Monthly membership fees more than doubled during the time I was a member here. I tried to cancel my membership three times and they have continued to charge me. You cannot even speak with a person about this because their management staff is only reachable via email.
What they do is charge less for the electronic funds transfer memberships so that they can hit up your credit card even if you haven't actually attended the gym for months. It's disgusting and despicable and it is clearly intentional.
When my credit card number was stolen, I went in the day that I found out (the 5th of the month which is the day they charge your monthly fee) to change my method of payment and they charged me a 5$ fee because they had already tried to charge my frozen card and it was declined. And again, they were unwilling to waive the fee because there is no management on site, just a bunch of kids who direct you to the management email!
Two thumbs way down.

These folks are great. First, the gym is beautiful - enough space for bouldering or climbing, even when URI is in session.
Second, the staff does a great job. The routes get changed very regularly, and they do a great job keeping a good mix of difficulties. Most stations (either top-rope or autobelay) will have a 5.6 or 5.7, a 5.8 or 5.9, and occasionally a 5.10. There's also a great area for practicing sport climbing with routes from 5.9 to 5.11. The staff does a great job of making sure folks are staying safe, and are helpful as opposed to dogmatic when offering suggestions for doing stuff better.
The hours are good - 10A through later than I stay up. Part of me wishes that they'd have an early morning session at least a couple days a week, but, as a 40-something, I'm probably way outside of their target demo.
They also do great kids programs. I got introduced to the place through a Boy Scout Merit Badge class. My scouts loved it, and I was hugely impressed with the quality of education the guys got. Since I'm usually stopping by on my way home from work, I also get to see their after-school and summer camp programs, and the kids are engaged and well behaved, which is the sign of quality instruction.
Anyway, I love climbing again after a couple of decades on hiatus. It's been great getting back in climbing shape, and I really look forward to continuing to grow, and will be using these guys to get back outside.
