We've been taking private lessons with Emily Paiva for a first dance at our wedding and we couldn't be happier! Emily has been so sweet, kind, funny and fun throughout this whole experience. She explains things so well and never let's you feel like anything but comfortable as you're learning and is the biggest cheerleader! John the owner always says hi, checks in and is really nice. We can't recommend going here and using Emily for all your dancing needs enough!

Studio One is a wonderful place to dance. All of the instructors and other dancers are wonderful people. They have Ballroom, West Coast Swing, Latin, and Country. Their Friday night dance parties feature one ballroom for WCS and one for a ballroom mix. I love going every Friday night!!

This review is long overdue, but better late than never. My husband, Conor, and I wanted to take a few dance lessons prior to our wedding so we weren't stepping on each other's toes during our first dance. John & Nika were incredible teachers. Neither of us had any dance experience - they taught us the basics (bait & hook pictured, haha) and helped us choreograph a dance to our song. I am so grateful for their expertise! We had a great time working with them and our first dance was a success. I highly recommend Studio One RI!

We have been dancing and taking lessons at Studio One for 8 years. They have strong team of instructors, John, Dee, Jiri, Giancarlo and Joanne. They offer all styles of Ballroom and Country dancing, they have group lessons for Beginner, Intermediate and Advance levels along with Private lessons.

First of all, we would like to say that we never expected how positive of an impact ballroom dancing would be for our daughter. She has been dancing at Studio One for almost 3yrs. Started with junior ballroom classes and now dancing country ballroom competitively. Studio One is always a welcoming environment for her. I took my Fiancé here for dance lessons on her Birthday. I am a complete novice/beginner and am terrible at dancing, and was tired of stepping on my Fiancé's toes whenever we would dance at a social event like someone's wedding. The kind gentleman who took care of us was amazing. Very patient, great communication, very friendly, made us feel welcome, and had a very uplifting, positive, encouraging , and funny personality. We had an amazing experience with Studio One. My husband and I purchased the wedding dance lessons. We went 4 times in a group setting and one private dance. They focus on each couple for a perfect amount of time even within the group. It's nice to compare what you're doing with others. A few times we liked what another couple was doing and asked to be taught that move as well. They pay attention to detail and even hand placement. You can go at your own speed. We actually had a couple weeks between each lesson and as long as you practice at home you'll be fine. We learned a few extra moves at the private lesson. Including how to start and end the dance elegantly. I was very impressed. We had the most beautiful dance and received so many compliments. I felt comfortable with our first dance like you should. My daughter and I went to studio one after an awful experience at Arthur Murray's.our instructor John choreographed a dance for my daughter and I for her wedding John made it so much fun and showed so much patience with us that we looked forward to it every week. We were a little unsure of how it was going to turn out because neither of us were ballroom dancers but our thought was as long as we had fun doing it the dance would take care of itself ! I can't say how happy we were with our dance it really made for a great memory and if I could steal s phrase from John's wife who was also extremely nice it's all about building memories !!!!

The folks at Studio One did an awesome job preparing us for our first dance. We took the Wedding Crash Course and had so much fun preparing for our dance. It was a great experience and it was absolutely worth it. The instructors are very patient and personable. You start with group lessons but they take the time and help you individually during those lessons. We learned so much and were able to really make our dance work for us and the vision we had in mind. I felt an enormous sense of relief walking in for our first dance knowing that we were married and it was time to really relax and enjoy the party! Once we made it to the dance floor, we were surrounded by the love and energy of our guests and we could tell that they were enjoying our "performance." Thanks to Studio One (and lots of practice) we felt confident dancing in front of 180+ people.
