8 months in here going strong would be 5 starts for the gym and equipments and convince BUTTT, I moved to NC and canceling with this company is a nightmare iv provided paper work showing iv moved they said it needed to show my new landlords signature as well so I then sent ones showing the requested signature to then be told I have to send it in another format when they where able to open the first picture just fine. Seems like im getting the run around just to cancel before my first year is up so 10 star gets 1 out of 5 because they did me dirty in the end. Save yourself the headache because life happens and a gym membership doesn't need to be a inconvenience for your time or wallet #stillpayingthem

I have attended this gym for two summers but have been extremely disappointed by the amount of hidden fees included in every membership plan. I attended this gym six days a week and found that it was EXTREMELY crowded in the evenings but very comfortable in the early mornings. The women's restroom has had a disgusting odor for the past two years and the equipment is outdated but gets the job done. I used to love this gym but after I found out I had to pay an extra month after I moved from Greenville, I will definitely not be returning. Very disappointing.

Solid gym but misleading with what they advertise. The actual equipment is fine and gets the job done and it isn’t ever too busy other than typical rush hours.

They advertise a low cost of $10 a month, but it’s only that cheap if you pay 12 months upfront, otherwise it’s $15. You are charged 50 bucks for an activation fee, then the first month of billing you’re charged a $50 “annual fee” which is then charged yearly. This is buried in the contract and terms and not stated in person.

The gym is alright, but as someone who was looking for a low cost gym, it was very misleading. Additionally, the cancellation process is drawn out in order to get you to pay more.

I get so tired of hearing cry babies cry about how difficult it is to cancel a "membership", NOT A SUBSCRIPTION. Some people can't even get that part right. All you have to do is send a certified letter revoking consent to withdraw funds. If they do it again, all you gotta due is sue them. If you're considering a membership at 10 Star Fitness, I’d really think twice. And if you ever want to cancel? Good luck with that. It’s a long, frustrating process with hidden fees and unnecessary hoops to jump through. You must go through multiple email requests and meet highly specific standards to qualify for someone who is eligible for “Cancellation due to move” or “Cancellation due Medical condition”. Its B.S. To make matters worse they drag on email responses, on purpose so you can continue to pay that monthly membership fee. On top of that, the gym’s equipment is outdated, and for what you’re paying, it just doesn’t feel worth it. I never make posts like these, but this is a scam at its finest. Here are the highly specific standards I’m talking about. What a joke!

Cancellation due to move:

· You must move your residence 50 miles or more from club facility.

· You must provide sufficient proof that you are moving. Please send in one of the following:

o New lease agreement in the member’s name signed by member and lessor.

o New utility hook-up or utility bill in member’s name.

o Newly issued driver’s license.

o Copy of a one-way plane ticket with copy of visa or green card.

o PCS orders – boot camp and basic training are accepted.

o Letter from employer (must be on letterhead), along with a copy of a pay stub.

o Letter from employer (must be on letterhead) and copy of corporate lease/extended hotel stay paperwork.

o Closing papers on a purchase of a new home.

o Students—must send in a copy of a class schedule and tuition receipt (must be on letterhead).

· Payments will continue on the membership agreement until the sufficient proof of move is received.

· No notice is required; ABC may cancel immediately after receiving the correct proof.

Cancellation due to Medical Condition:

· Cancellation is allowed for a permanent disability.

· Provide a letter from your physician stating you have a permanent disability.

· Must be on letterhead and signed by the physician with a phone number to call and verify information if needed.

· Payments will continue until the proper document is received from your physician.

· No notice is required; ABC may cancel immediately after receiving the correct proof.

Buyout Option:

· You must provide a 30-day verbal or written notice.

· The postmark date or date of the phone call will begin the 30-day period.

· You are responsible for any payments during the 30-day period.

· Written notices must state that you are canceling under the buyout option.

· A buyout fee of $59.00 is also required.

I wish I could say my experience here was good but I fear it was far from it. I couldn’t get over the fact that no machine was cleaned after use, let alone the smell some of the staff members gave off. I know what ur thinking, it’s not their fault but a part of me thinks they were saving it for later. I brought to the attention of the staff the streak marks in the toilets but they just proceeded to blame me for it. I honestly never have experienced such level of disrespect from staff members after knowing i was a part of the LGTBQ community. I could feel their judgement as I repped their max, the comments and giggles they would give when I passed by really added names to the list. Unlike planet fitness this is a “ judgment zone”. I’ve tired to cancel my subscription but the policies make it literally impossible, as I talked to the manager about it, his breath had me wondering if he believed in toothpaste, so help me god. I really hope no one even attempts to come to this place.

This change would have been good if the machines were basically the same but these new machines are too gimmicky and don't offer a wide range of adjustments.
If you don't fit into a certain body size you won't fit on half the new equipment. This has made me consider switching gyms.

I found my gym! I recently moved from Tennessee missing my old gym and ended up trying crunch. I could never get a machine and the ppl didn’t care….. this gym is the exact opposite. Tim made a great gym over 30 years. The people are great, the equipment is great. Ppl are respectful. It’s close to the same price as others. It’s a local company. Pay the extra five dollars and be part of this community. Well worth it. And never wait for a machine again

It’s a nice gym! I’m using the 21 day pass and coming to the end of it, I’ve tried it out a bit and it’s not too busy, the equipment is good and seems to be replaced fairly quickly if broken, staff is friendly, gym is kept pretty clean. The only caveat is it seems like the women’s sauna is broken? I walked in to a very underwhelming heat, it must be broken because I came last week and it was nice and hot but this was what the thermostat was showing today. A little disappointed as it’s a nice relaxing 20 minutes for me after a workout.

So I was out of town for a little while but I had to get my fitness on so I stopped in here by the recommendation of my girlfriend who has a membership I was pleasantly surprised until I saw that people don't know how to put weights back into place. I think that's one of the main things that pisses me off about a gym where people don't e respect and place the weights back into the racks where they belong. I don't know if this is a regular way this gym is kept however on the day I was there this is what I noticed. So I picked up the weights maybe about three different weights and place them back. As far as the equipment the equipment seem to be in pretty good condition however and some of the machines that require a pin in order to change the weight depends were missing . There was no one at the desk to assist so of course I had to take a pin from one machine and put it in the other and when I was finished I placed it back. The gym seem to be kept neatly which is always a good thing but some people just don't wipe down the machines after they use them I noticed this very frequently happening. No one wants to sit down behind someone else's sweat it's a matter of etiquette I like that they had a kid zone. I would say this is a nicely sized gym capable of holding a good number of people. This is not a bodybuilding gym due to the amount of weight they held in the dumbbell and barbell section but it's suffice for my need that day. I really wish I had a chance to meet the staff members but there was no one present. I would have been able to converse with them about the certain things that I needed at that time. If you want to get your workout on I would say go ahead check out this gym. The bathroom is a big deal for me I like my bathrooms nice and clean and they did hit the marker on this one. When I'm in South Carolina this part I will visit again. I would say it's more of a four-star gym but this room for improvement and there is room for improvement mainly deals with people putting the weights back and cleaning up behind themselves.

Not only are you unable to cancel your membership at the gym, but even after contacting their third-party management company, you are redirected to an online portal to cancel. Obviously this is a predatory practice to make canceling as difficult as possible.

Ive been a member at 10 star for 5 years in spartanburg and the greenville locations. All the new Crunch Fitness’s that are opening are definitely competition in quality for 10 star however the cleanliness and the staff of 10 star in Greenville has always been great. I will start with the fact that it is actually a really nice gym but the membership system they use is through a 3rd party system and it’s pretty much a scam. I moved away so I tried to cancel my membership and they told me that I was not eligible to cancel because I still live within 50 miles of the facility.

Called to cancel my membership only for them to tell me to call another number and so I did, and the lady asked all sorts of questions as well as asked for the reason behind the cancelation only for her to tell us we have to do it online!! Was on the phone for 20 minutes just to have to do it online by email!! Soooo irritating. Make it easier to cancel!!! Besides this, the gym itself is a good starter gym. A little overpriced though. However if you want to do powerlifting, find another gym because they won’t allow you to drop the weights.

Not a bad gym. Has everything you need for strength training. Equipment is on the older side, but gets the job done. 3- stars b/c it is pretty dirty.

A locker room is a locker room, so it takes an outlier to comment on one, and for me it was the growth that is developing on some of the sprinkler heads in the men's.

Also, there are not a lot of sanitation stations to wipe down the equipment. Last time I was there, only one towel dispenser had towels in it. Not good during the 4PM after work rush when the equipment is in constant use.

My name is William Gonzalez, I come from Philadelphia, Pa. On a vacation visiting my sister in Easley South Carolina. I came to train at the gym, upon walking in I signed a waiver to train so in case of injury it would not be them at fault. So I clearly asked if dead lift was ok. I set up and proceeded to work out and on my third set I had an older gentleman with the most terrible attitude his customer service was horrible. Telling me I’m knocking the whole gym down and that I need to out my shoes on. Without getting to even greet me or telling me who he is we had a brief exchange of words til a younger gentleman intervened and actually defused the situation. My review is to clearly state that customer service is horrible. Before even getting to know who I am or where I come from or even my background. I am a certified fitness trainer and also have competed in many power lifting meets. I would clearly state not to go to this gym at all.

The price isn't terrible, but the equipment is in bad condition. About half of the equipment is in dire need to be replaced, especially the machines. The cable machines are all in bad condition and they don't have correctly calibrated weights on that structure. It's an ok gym, but you're better off at gold's gym or planet fitness

At first, I thought this gym was going to be a good gym And yeah, it was dirty and gross but I was able to look past that since the machines were okay I guess and it was open 24/7 so I took that as a plus, but then I started noticing that they were charging us more than they should like way more. We contacted the staff and they told us to send an email and gave us an email and we did contact that email but nothing changed. We were still being over charged! And the machines are very outdated, dusty, and not kept up in cleanliness in the women’s bathroom isn’t that bad but they don’t clean it out as often as I think they should you find random products and razors and hair where women have been shaving so what I’m trying to say is the shower room bathroom it is not clean and not kept up. And when it rains, it leaks everywhere like if they have leaks on the ceiling and they don’t seem to fix it and just put buckets to try to “fix” the problem Honestly if I were you, I’d go to another gym and not waste your money here the only way we were able to cancel was by calling our bank and asking them To not accept charges from 10star anymore And that seem to solve the problem. If I could give this place negative stars I would.

I found a whole entire RAT on my treadmill I am very disturbed I am never coming back to this gym ever!!! It made me fall off of the treadmill and hurt my chest and arms thanks a lot 10 star fitness more like 1 star fitness if I could rate this 0 stars I would!!!

When you want to cancel your membership, they will tell you "All you have to do I call them, within a 30 day notice. They make it as difficult as they can to cancel and if it is not done in the 30 day window, your locked in for another year. I successfully canceled my membership and they still took the monthly fee and the annual fee. There are consequence for stealing.

(Name is my gamertag lol) 10 star fitness was hands down the best gym I have ever been to. The staff was like that of no other, always engaging in conversation and making you feel welcomed. Even the people that go there were some of the nicest people I have met. The equipment was top of the line and when stuff would break they would have it fixed within a few days. It truly pained me to leave this gym because I knew I will never find a gym like this one.

Do yourself a favor and join any other gym out there. This place is dusty, dirty, and the equipment is super outdated. They have all the membership information set up with some third party scam system that makes it extremely difficult to cancel, which hopefully I just actually cancelled because I have seen countless reviews of people claiming to still be getting charged after cancellation. Overall bad experience, Greenville has way better gyms to go to. I would steer clear of this place 100%

It’s a good gym expect from the money. Good equipment good people highest dumbbell only goes to 100 though. The reason why it’s only 3 star is because of how hot it is. Only one fan in the facility why pay 25 for the sauna while the entire place is 90

Being overcharged on a monthly basis when the funds are in my account to begin with is getting old and magically nothing can ever be done about it. They make canceling difficult and even offered that I buy my way out of my contract that was already up (and has been for months). The lack of cleanliness recently is getting ridiculous. The many trash cans are always full, sanitizer bottles are missing or empty and some of the paper towel dispensers are broken or empty both around the gym and in the bathrooms.

I like the gym. It's pretty much everything you could ask for if you like to lift. Plenty of cardio equipment also. I have never taken any of the classes so I can't review those.

Gym staff lied to me and my wife's face. The employee told us it's a month to month membership and that I could cancel at anytime. I haven't been to that gym for over 6 months due to how hot and crowded it is. So today I call to cancel and have to call a number that I could barely understand what the lady was saying. I tell her I want to cancel and at that time she gives me a email address and told me to email the address and tell them I want to cancel. We'll I did and I receive a email back saying there is only certain criteria that allows me to cancel. I plan on going to the gym tomorrow to talk to the person who lied to me.

The gym culture and people (both members and employees I met) at 10 star are great, however the cons outweigh the pros of this gym.
1. The gyms equipment is old and outdated.
2. When you enter the gym the bathrooms are right there and you are welcomed to the gym by the smell of urine.
3. When I was trying to cancel, the process was made way too complicated and I felt from a customer's perspective it was very disrespectful and frustrating.

I'll explain for anybody thinking of joining this gym....you can't cancel at the gym itself, you have to call a number (my experience calling customer service was terrible also), then you have to go to a website ( on a computer, if you try with your phone it won't work (at least not for me), and create an account.

On what planet do customers have to create an online account and be given grief and frustration just to cancel their gym membership? That is pathetic.

10 Star Fitness gym is a great overall gym. Mickey the GM was awesome and extremely helpful. I was intown for business and got the $10 day pass which was well worth it considering all the equipment / space and sauna available. If you are in the area def worth stopping in to get a great pump!!

For anyone unaware, there "no commitment" still demands a 30 days notice, so they are happy to charge you for one more month and won't accept a cancellation prior to that last payment. Also, if you sign up for one of their deals that doesn't require the 49.19(99?) Annual fee, they will still try to get you to sign a paper authorizing that fee. I was caught off guard and even though I know better than to blindly sign things, I blindly signed it and will say shame on you guys for false advertising. Not cool.

If I could I would give this place 0 stars. They kept charging my credit card which was cancelled instead of cancelling my membership like a normal company. I didn't know they kept charging my cancelled card and ended up sending me to a debt collector. They made NO attempt to let me know I would still be charged and I only figured this out when the debt collector called me two years after I sent an email to their parent company to cancel my membership. For the love of god go somewhere else.
