3rd week in a row they have cancelled parents night out, but this time no one called to tell me.
I don't know what's going on, but hopefully they can figure something out with this program because I'm paying $84 a month (+$30 1st and 3rd Saturday) and this the only program I use regularly.

My SIL has worked here for as long as I've known her and she truly kept that place running! She is now in the big leagues working in Augusta due to all her hard work and dedication but she set this place up to be one of the best. You can 100% tell she is missed there but she made it so things could run smoothly (IMO). My daughter, her niece, absolutely loves going to after school there and camp anytime school is out. They always make sure her HW is done and they make sure the kids are really taken care of and have fun while attending. The ladies who work in after school program are fantastic Sawyer loves them beyond measure. We are BEYOND thankful that she is able to attend her, somewhere we KNOW she is cared for and loved.

We had a REALLY bad experience at the YMCA Childcare (NOT the YMCA facility but the childcare facility downtown Augusta) in Augusta GA and I would NEVER EVER recommend taking your children there especially if the same director is there. She attended when she was a baby and they left her sitting in a soiled diaper for SO long it was like she had third degree burns on her private area, something that has traumatized her TO THIS DAY even though I don't think she remembers why, but her father and I will NEVER forget .... Especially considering the director pretty much laughed it off and no one was ever held accountable. We took her out immediately and I honestly wish (not to be THAT person but it truly, truly was THAT bad... My baby was in so much pain she could hardly MOVE... Talking about it now still has me LIVID) I would have sued them and made them pay for their absolute NEGLIGENCE. I bring this up because I want it known that Aiken YMCA is NOTHING like that.

We have NEVER had ANY issues like that here, and although yes, her Aunt was a director there, she made sure ALL of the kids were taken care of like they were her own. It really matters who you give that power to when it comes to your children. It's so scary to trust that others will protect them and love them the same way we do as parents so I really do mean it when I say I trust everyone who cares for my child here. The place is always clean, everyone is always really kind and welcoming and they communicate any issues immediately. You can't ask for anything better when it comes to the care of your children!

I have used their gym before as well when I could afford it and it's always kept super clean, they have fun events planned in the summer, for Halloween, and they REALLY took care of their community when Hurricane Helene hit and people needed food, showers, and the ability to charge their electronics to keep in touch with other family. Overall, 10/10! Highly recommend this facility - you won't find the care anywhere else!

If I could give zero stars I would. I got a membership this past spring for my kiddos, they attended camp and hated it, and often the pool was miserable with multiple smaller pools always roped off so everyone was packed in the lap pool so i decided to cancel my membership on July 2, they explained that I didnt cancel in time to not be charged for July which I understood. Expecting to NOT be paying for August. August 16th I'm charged again, I called them they told me they could see that I canceled but they had no idea why I was charged again and since it cleared I had to go to my bank and handle it, which I did. I was once again assured that I wouldn't be charged again. September rolls around and once again I was charged this time I caught it while it was still pending so I called the office again and they reversed the charge and said it would be back in the account in 7-10 days. Then we had a hurricane my home was demolished we had no power or gas or internet so I couldn't check my account on my computer. We just got our internet back today and I check my account....not only did they not refund the first fraudulent charge they took out another one. I'm so mad 120 dollars, now I have to go back to the bank tomorrow I'm going to have to get a new debit and lock my account so they don't keep taking it out. What a rip off

If you want to enjoy the pool during the summer, wishful thinking. Summer campers make it miserable for adults and families. Half of the pool stays sectioned off into lanes so campers and members are packed like sardines into half a pool with inexperienced swimmers. Staff resolved this problem with a “guess you’re SOL” attitude. Deal with it. Different rules apply to different days regarding pool toys so you’ll never know what’s acceptable and what is not. Schedule is jam packed and facility is over crowded. This Y has the potential to be absolutely amazing with its waterpark but the over crowding issue alongside a lackadaisical staff attitude takes its from its potential to be fabulous to disastrous and potentially dangerous.

There was a different person at the front desk on the morning of 5/24/2024. She made me rescan my card repeatedly even though I have been a member for several years. She would not comment why. She did not do this with a fellow family member nor the friend with me. She was a black female. I am a white male. I made sure I watched what I said to her. My opinion is I was being profiled by her. I have been a member at this YMCA for 4.5 years and never had this happen before. I hope this is not going to continue happening to white members.

The pools are great for our kids. The weight room is a different story. The machines are dated and in very poor condition. I’ve tried 3 different ellipticals- bearings were broken on all and they sound and feel like gravel is inside the machine. Great for a pool, bad if you work out on machines. Save your $ and go to Planet Fitness.

I came to this gym about 6 weeks ago looking for a New inspirational way to start the next New Journey in my life,and I met Linda,who help me get started not only was she my trainer,but she also became a good friend as well. Now she has moved on,ive got a New trainer, Hope who is amazing. Im in good hands . She is is very detailed in her training,and is showing me how to acheive my personal goals weekly.I am very happy with Workout Anytime,the staff,Hope my trainer,. The hours are great for my work schedule. Overall,im proud to be a member for many years to come. Great Job!

Love that Aiken has this facility. I used to be an employee (in 2012) and loved my time working at this YMCA. Staff are friendly and the amount and quality of programs are great.

Disclosure: Long post (read to the end and you'll understand). It pains me terribly to give this review since my family has such a long history there but I have to for the good of others. A few weeks ago, I took my son back there for the first time in going on 3 years. We came in the morning as we had always done since he was practically a toddler (he is almost 10 now).

I was in the gym and the staff had my number on file, but when I came to get him I was told that they couldn't accommodate children his size in the morning unless schools were out. I told them that we home school in the afternoons and that I shouldn't have to break that schedule to bring him there in the afternoon when childcare is supposed to be part of the membership up to age 12. Then I was told to come back on certain days when there is more staff there. I said OK then left, but after I got home I realized that we pay the same rate as everyone else but now I have to make our lives more convenient for them? No sir.

I went back and told the front desk person that I wanted to cancel my family's membership but was at least willing to hold on to it until the end of the month so my son could swim at the college as was advertised. Then I was told that was for adults only which was NEVER expressed to me before.

That was the last straw. My son has high functioning autism and hemophilia, and there were many times over the years that the only thing that seemed to soothe his mind and swollen joints was that pool. I've had to carry him on my back, put him on a scooter, or a wheelchair because there were times he couldn't walk, but the pool made it all worth it.

I tried to ignore why I cancelled the membership years ago which had to do with them claiming they "lost" his Camp Puzzle Palooza registration 2 years in a row instead of just being honest about either not being capable or not wanting to deal with his special needs (even though this specific camp is supposed to be for kids with special needs). But all this was just too much.

The icing on the cake was that whatever happened while he was last there seemed to traumatize him so bad that he's had more anxiety than I've seen from him in well over a year.

I gave 2 stars because I did appreciate the years of smiles and happiness that this place provided my child. I wish it was still like that. I am writing this not to be vindictive or to sway anyone's opinion of this place, but to share our truth and to hopefully help others make an informed decision about it.

I really enjoy everything about this Y. The pools are great there is a place for everyone to swim. You can weight train on the machines and or lift weights; you can also walk on the track. They have classes you can sign up for. I’m very excited about the opportunities for getting and staying healthy here. The staff is great, very friendly and helpful at all times.
