BEATS is a boutique fitness studio that was created to produce results. The workouts are choreographed by owner & founder, Meredith Trout, whose passion for fitness has been a lifetime in the making.
The classes are a combination of pilates, cardio dance, mat work, low weight strength training, and barre. The movements throughout the class work not only the major muscle, but also the ancillary muscles which helps tone & sculpt women's bodies while increasing balance and flexibility.
Every three weeks the workouts change to maximize results.
The Gervais St location offers five different class options which are specifically choreographed to the beat: Signature, Express, Cardio Dance, Spin, & HIIT classes are available.

This was literally one of the BEST classes I have EVER taken. Meredith was SO welcoming and so great about giving cues on proper form. Highly recommend this studio/class!! Definitely worth mentioning that the playlist was AMAZING!!!

My first Foundations class at BEATS Studio was so much fun! Meredith, my instructor was friendly, fit, perky, and very easy to follow. Her pink leggings are signature and I found it very helpful as I watched the choreographed BEATS’ movements.
The exercises are similar to ballet at a standard barre, Pilates on a provided floor mat , and strengthening with provided leg & arm weights, for maximum results! The mirrored studio is clean & orderly, the decor & music are contemporary & tasteful, and I purchased an exercise outfit on sale before leaving to wear to my next class! Did I mention there is a provided parking lot in this downtown studio with easy entrance & exit onto Gervais Street?!
Thanks to the cheerful staff, Logan, for making me feel very welcome and comfortable. See you again, next week!

I’ve been to 7 BEATS classes so far, and I’m hooked! I can already see a difference in muscle tone, and my clothes are fitting looser. Great full-body workout that will leave you feeling proud of the work you just did.

Had so much fun working out at beats with my office, Columbia family chiropractic! I highly recommend this for any one who is looking for a low impact high interval workout! I broke out a sweat which is something I use to gauge how good a workout is. This one was a 10/10!

I recently attended a class with a group from Columbia Family Chiropractic. We were extended an incredibly warm welcome by the staff. The vibes in this studio were unreal, the intensity and enthusiasm from the staff, made for such an awesome workout! I recently tried Beats Barre Studio for the first time, and it was an amazing experience! The energy in the studio is contagious—it's such a fun, upbeat environment where you really feel motivated to push yourself. The instructors are incredibly supportive and know how to keep the class challenging while still making it enjoyable. The combination of barre, strength, and cardio set to great music made the workout fly by, and I could really feel it working my whole body.
The studio itself is clean, modern, and has a great vibe. The class felt both intense and rewarding, and I left with a huge sense of accomplishment. I’m already looking forward to coming back and trying more classes. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a fun, high-energy workout that delivers results!

I’ve been attending Beats Barre for over two years now, and I can confidently say it’s the best workout in Columbia! The energy is contagious, and the workouts are always challenging but fun. The instructors are top-notch—knowledgeable, motivating, and so encouraging. They make every class feel fresh, by changing the routine every 3 weeks.
What I love most about Beats is how it targets every single muscle in your body, even those hidden ones you didn’t know you had. The focus on core and booty is unmatched, and the results speak for themselves. I’ve seen incredible changes in strength, tone, and flexibility since I started.
The atmosphere is always welcoming, and the community is so supportive. No matter your fitness level, you’ll feel right at home. Just give yourself a 3 class learning curve! Once you get down the moves, you will be set! After two years of attending, I can honestly say I wouldn’t go anywhere else—Beats has become a crucial part of my fitness routine!
If you’re looking for a workout that’s high-energy, effective, and downright addictive, this is the place to be! Can’t recommend it enough.

If you want to Burn, Energerize, And Tone Sculpt, then BEATS is the place to achieve those results. I started working out here nearly 2 years ago and I love it! The routines are fun, can push your limits, make you sweat and they are ever changing so I never get bored with the same routine. In 45-60 mins (depending on the class), you will get your cardo, your yoga, your barre and your weight training all in one class! And if you aren't able to get to a class in person, they offer virtual classes which is a bonus when I have a sick child at home or are on vacation but still want to get a workout in. BEATS has been a great place to meet new friends and challenge yourself with this one of a kind style workout. If you haven't tried a BEATS class, now is your chance, you won't regret it! Trust me!

Ever since I tried a BEATS class, it’s become one of my favorite workouts. Not only have I seen great results, but it’s also so much fun. Meredith Trout, the owner, along with the other instructors and staff, create a friendly environment. I’ve seen Meredith personally welcome first-timers and genuinely take feedback to improve the BEATS experience. Since starting, I’ve felt more toned, healthier, and energized. From the minute you meet Meredith and her team, you feel like you belong- the community is so welcoming and genuine. The music is fun and upbeat. I especially like the mood lighting and ability to just focus individually on my work, while simultaneously enjoying the workout as a group. Each instructor cars about form and ensuring modifications are made to meet each guest where they are. The workouts change every 3 weeks and there are so many options on times. I have never had any problem getting tj to a class. Come workout with us! Oh will feel great physically, mentally, and leave smiling!

I just finished my 100th class with Beats and I could not be happier. It’s so much fun and such an incredible workout. I have more flexibility in my hips and more muscle tone than I have in years. And I get to dance and listen to great music. I’m so happy to be a part of this community!

I came in for the first time and nobody greeted me. The manager completely ignored me and paid more attention to other groups that came right after me. The parking is also horrible. I had high hopes but my first impression is disappointing. I will give it one star for a good work out but there are other studios that do a better job and have better parking.

I started beats a few months ago as I was looking for something different and fun. I can say that I absolutely love it. I feel stronger and my endurance is higher. Everyone there is so friendly and helpful. I look forward to going to each class. Also as a plus the music is upbeat and motivating!

I’ve been a BEATS member for over a year now, and I can honestly say it’s the best workout studio in Columbia! Meredith’s BEATS method is truly incredible! The classes at BEATS are always challenging yet fun. All of the instructors are fantastic, and have an energy that always keep you motivated. I love that BEATS offers so many different classes, from cardio dance, HIIT, spin, and of course BEATS signature and express classes. No matter what class I take, I always leave feeling sweaty, stronger, more energized, and excited to come back. I started beats last summer. Each class is so much fun, but also it is a great workout. I have made friends working out at Beats. It makes the classes even better when you have friends, and they help to hold you accountable when you don’t show up to class. The instructors are all the best! I have been doing Beats for a year and love it! The workouts are effective, fun and make you want to come back for another. Meredith is also so welcoming, knowledgeable and upbeat. Love BEATS! My workout routine had hit a major lull- and by lull I mean I hadn’t worked out in years- and then BEATS came to town. A friend asked me to try it and I’ve been addicted ever since! The first class made me feel like a fish out of water, but by the third or fourth class I got the hang of it! Always a guaranteed fun, sweaty time! Grab a friend and give it a try!
