After back surgery I struggled with balance issues, which would lead to falls. Since I have started with Chris I have not had any falls and now have the confidence to walk and hike without falling. I have been working out twice a week with Chris at Catalyst for a month now and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself and my health. He is super encouraging and makes sure that you’re doing what you need to get stronger at each work out without pushing *too* hard. I have a wrist injury that is slow to heal, but he always has modifications ready if I need them. I feel myself getting stronger each time I go. This gym is wonderful. The small class size gives you the 1 to 1 feel with the trainer but also the motivation from others. Chris, the trainer, is able to make sure your form is correct and bump you up in weights if needed. No high pressure sales to buy into anything additional. No contact, it is month to month.

Catalyst is amazing! I came in with the goal of getting stronger without injuring myself. Chris makes sure my form is right and will add modifications whenever I need them. He really tailors our workouts and makes sure we are all performing at the level that is suitable for the individual members of the class. The classes are capped at 6, and this really helps with minor adjustments that he needs to make for each person. So I am not someone who reviews very often, but as a business owner, I know I love when I get 5 star reviews, and like all the other 5 star, Catalyst deserves it.

I started 9 months ago as a very overweight, out of shape 53 year old. Since then I have lost 45 pounds, doubled my strength and more importantly, feel 100x better. As a 50 year old, I can’t work out like I used to in my 20s. Catalyst works within your limitations and will modify any exercise to meet your physical ailments.

The workouts are always different - and you can tell there is a purpose for each day. Some days you are miserable doing burbees, bear crawls, reverse lunges…but you always leave there feeling great. Other days it might be a heavy lifting day, others it is a high rep light lifting…you won’t get bored. And if heavy lifting isn’t your thing, they will modify the workout to get the most out of what you need individually. Classes are capped at 6 people, so small enough for individual work but the group has a nice bond.

Highly recommend for an experienced training individual or a beginner, Chris the owner will get the most from what you want to become.

I am able to lift, pull, push, and press more than I told myself I could because of his training techniques. I see results in every muscle in my body. Yes, I see it! I am 53 years old, with a life long attachment to fitness but I’ve fallen in and out of it over the years. I started to see a shift in my body composition and decided it was time to step up my game. At Catalyst, Chris makes sure my form is perfect so that I don’t injure myself. The focus is on strengthening and building muscle groups without killing your self in the process. He taught me that I don’t have to (and shouldn’t do) HIIT training every day or even lift heavy every day to get results. Finally, there is such a strong sense of community here. You have accountability and fun group dynamics with personalized fitness programs. I always wanted to have a personal trainer but one on one personal training was too expensive (huge hourly cost plus paying for the gym). Catalyst is an affordable and fun personal training. I tore my quad muscle and had to go down the stairs sideways. At 57 this was not what I wanted my life to be like. After rehab I worked with Chris for about six months and feel stronger than I have in a couple of decades. Not once was I injured or felt I was pushing too hard. Don’t get me wrong…he pushed me to my limits, but safely and kept me injury free and continually motivated!! People of all ages and strengths can get positive results with Chris!
