I became a member about 6 months now. I am one who has never been in a gym since high school when basketball practice had to work out. If you want a place that gives you comfort of working out without feeling embarrassed or uneasiness, then this would be the place. The people here are not stuck up, and are friendly, also too busy focusing on why they are there. It is a busy gym, but that alone should tell you about the other gyms that are around. The staff is great and are always there if you have any questions and will go over and beyond to help. The general manager, Christina Hille has always been friendly, and very helpful with any questions I had. This is a place I will vouch for to anyone. you also have many options to chose from yoga, dancing your own work out spaces fir ones who yet are self conscious. You will over come that when you have been there a day or so. I absolutely love this place and love working out on the daily, and tanning with a follow up massage....Awesome WAY TO RELAX

This is a great gym to go to. I've been going there for about 7 years now.
The employee's are awesome. They are very kind and helpful. Unlike other gyms, the trainers actually train the the people that request their expertise. They are with you the whole time during your workout that they have designed for your desired results.
They have every kind of state of the art machine, cardio equipment, free weights, a hit zone as well as classes in aerobics. It is the place to be for Great workouts.
This location is huge, plenty of room for many people to workout!
7 days a week and the openreally early, i think 4am.
Get their free trial, you will be pleased!

Toured location yesterday and was super excited. Checked out daycare said we had a 3 yr old and 9month old and sales guys said
“ oh cool”. Came in next day after getting 2 kids ready and drove 30 min. We go to sign up and the same guy says “ I’m really sorry daycare is for 1 year and up”

I still go here but only bc it’s so close to my home. I’ve only been a member a few months and in this short time the sauna, the equipment, the air conditioning, and now the water fountain have been broken. You better pray your favorite equipment or activity (such as drinking water) doesnt break because they’ll hang a ‘everyone need a rest day’ sign on it for a month!! You know how many times things broke down and stayed broken down at planet fitness ? Zero. I wanted to ‘up’ my game and go to a more advanced gym so I started here at crunch, but I must say going to a well maintained, working beginners gym is better than a broke down, hot, waterless advanced gym!

I absolutely love this gym. There is plenty of equipment, the people are decent, I didn't interact with them much because whenever I would go I would be in my own zone. The childcare is great. However if you go on a Saturday the get over crowded fast and you have to wait for a spot to open in childcare. Plus childcare closes early on Saturdays.

I’m glad we found this gym when we moved to Charleston 18 months ago. The staff members have always been pleasant and welcoming to us. We even have made a lot of friendships with people we have met there. We look forward to seeing the friendly staff at the front desk when we walk in every day. They have much space, a ton of equipment and classes if we choose to participate in. Thank you to the staff for making the gym a welcoming, fun and a clean environment.
This comment was prior to the buyout of Pivotal fitness. Now that it is Crunch on Trolly it’s been extremely frustrating. Sauna was down for months and honestly there has been no urgency to fix it even hearing that from staff. Yet you’re advertising it and charging for this service as one of the items that’s available and it’s not. Water machine is down, and no sign. Let staff know and their response is, “yeah we know I guess we should put a sign up.” Can I have a bottle water? After being a member for years at this gym, bc there apparently isn’t a card on file even though it’s direct deposit and the water machine is down, she wouldn’t give me a water in the middle of my work out. If I would have known water machine was down we would have brought water. Treadmills are down, and again for months. Water bed is down and “don’t know why.” No urgency. It’s a completely different atmosphere that Pivotal was and it’s disappointing. I would much rather give my money and my business to a local smaller gym.

Crunch Fitness on Trolley Road is hands down the best gym I’ve ever been to. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and completely comfortable, which isn’t always easy when starting at a new gym. The staff here are incredible, always friendly, professional, and willing to help. Drayton and Spring in particular go above and beyond to make sure members feel supported and motivated. The atmosphere is positive and encouraging, and the equipment is always clean and well maintained. I’ve never enjoyed going to a gym as much as I do here. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place where you’ll feel both challenged and at home!

​I've been a member at this gym since it opened a few months ago, and unfortunately, the experience has been consistently disappointing. The lack of attention to detail and basic maintenance is unprofessional and frankly, unsafe. ​The equipment is a complete mess. Weights, kettlebells, and medicine balls are scattered all over the floor and rarely reracked in their proper places. It's not just disorganized; much of the equipment is in terrible condition. Several of the machine pads are ripped and torn, with the foam padding exposed, which is unhygienic and uncomfortable to use. ​To make matters worse, the overall ambiance of the gym feels neglected. One of the main signs on the wall is missing the S and it's been like that for weeks. It's a small thing, but it just screams that the management doesn't care. ​On top of all that, none of the TVs or the main clock have ever worked. They've been blank screens since day one. It's baffling that a new facility wouldn't have basic electrical hookups figured out after several months of being open.
​I really wanted to like this gym, but the persistent disorganization, damaged equipment, and lack of basic amenities make it impossible to recommend.

I had a billing issue because of the West Ashley location. I was a little upset because I spent a lot of time on the phone with him trying to get it figured out

I was highly impressed with Christina Hille, the GM, handled the situation. She explained everything to me in detail and had me taken care of in five minutes.

She was extremely helpful and even gave me a tour of the place. Man, this location is beautiful and the people are friendly highly recommend to anyone. It’s so clean and they had plenty of staff available!

Crunch gym's staff is amazing especially if you have questions. I came in today and I didn't know how to scan in and the staff member at the counter assisted me. The bathrooms where really clean. All the cleaning supplies for the gym equipment was easy to find. If you are looking for a gym to go to this would be my first recommendation.

Terrible service and experience. After cancellation they give a 30 day notice where you’re able to continuously rack up charges to the account including the annual fee. When you call the Crunch department they don’t even give you the audacity to call the actual store location… they put you on the line with a Patel and he’s answering questions in behalf of Crunch rather than the actual store location you visited. If you’re looking to get a gym membership look for a local family owned business or PF. Crunch is a cash grabbing company and I’d never do business with them again.

Everything about this gym is great from the staff, the equipment, and the size!

There are three (3) things that suck about this place though.

1. When something is broke, it's broke for weeks
2. Could be a lot more cleaner daily like the floors and especially the dust build up between machines
3. The parking lot is not big enough for the amount of people that come to the gym daily. Get rid of the crates out front that have been there for weeks!

The management of this location is disgusting. The men's locker is TINY and poorly lit. There are only TWO stalls! TWO! One of the stalls is always out of order. On top of this, there are only TWO urinals, one of which is out in the open and exposed right next to the sink which leads to frequent exposure which is unacceptable. There's never any soap of toilet paper available in the restroom. Hell, there's more showers than there are toilets. This is a HUGE gym! The equipment is constantly broken and never seems to get fixed and the protein/energy drink coolers are ALWAYS empty. Spray bottles for cleaning the equipment are always empty or there is no paper towels to clean the equipment. Finally, the daycare hours are so convoluted that im not even sure why they offer them. Daycare is CLOSED by NOON on a Saturday and CLOSED all day on Sunday! This is a MASSIVE 'new' gym that is already quickly declining.

Not a fan. Was definitely better when crunch was on Ladson & pivotal was on trolley. Tried them both out. Liked crunch better at that time but both were at least a 3-4 star. Now, lucky that I give crunch a 2 star review. Before normal work hours & after normal work hours are too crowded so if you come with a plan in mind for a workout, plan on changing workout as the machines/free weights won’t be available or the “everyone needs a rest day” sign will be on the machine. Location is the only thing keeping me here.

I’ve been to the three Crunch facilities in the area, and this one is easily my favorite. Its popularity shows in the early mornings, although it’s not terribly crowded, and there are plenty of machines, rooms, and space for me to accomplish a complete workout.

I went to open house in May for one day. A week later I come back with a free three day trial I received via promotional message. The guy (didn’t get his name; nor was it displayed on his shirt) at front desk declines my entry saying my pass expired even though I made it the same day and still have a whole week to use it. He also told me, amongst other things he said, that he “doesn’t have time to help me, go to another gym.” (Nobody else was in line). I understand if people are creating multiple accounts to freeload free trials off of crunch; however, it was not disclosed that attending open house for one day was in placement of my trial. I really did enjoy crunch the one day that I went and I was considering signing up for the Peak membership, but this whole thing just left a bitter taste in my mouth. It’s a shame that they have people like that working as the face of their franchise and I hope nobody else is treated the same way I was today.

I jumped over to Crunch because It has child care so I can work out during the day I've been in there twice and not been able to fully complete a workout because most of the equipment is hand-me-down stuff from the previous gym and it's all old worn out you can't read the numbers on it It's missing pins it's missing parts or it's just completely broken and can't be used.

So yeah they're advertising this new gym this new crunch location they renovated it up and made it look nice but I don't care what color the walls are I need to be able to use the equipment.

Wish I could give 0 stars. Visited Crunch Fitness on February 8th, requesting my membership be canceled as I no longer live in the area. The person at the desk said I would have one more billing payment then I will not be charged. I have since been charged 2 additional times, April and May. I have tried calling and emailing the branch with no resolution. Manager states I never went to a branch and requested the account closed. I do not live close to a location but they still refuse to cancel my membership. Manager gave me the number to customer care but in actuality it was the customer care number to health insurance. This has been a horrible experience. Even if I do live near a Crunch Fitness, I do not plan on going back. 0/5 stars

It is between 78 and 80 degrees is the group exercise room and has been for months. Although members complain, it has still not been fixed. Management just doesn't seem to care, just keep those monthly bank drafts coming!
