Plenty of families adore this gym — which is why we kept dropping in over the past year. This latest visit? Whole different universe.

The coach was physically in the room but spiritually on her phone. My daughter described her as “kinda dismissive,” and the complete lack of interaction afterward really tied that bow neatly.

I reached out through the app… nothing.
Responded to their automated text… nothing.
Apparently the only place they answer is Instagram, which feels like a bold customer-service strategy.

When they finally replied, we were told — plot twist — that my daughter actually belonged in Intro to Level 1 now. No explanation for why she’d spent months in Advanced Level 1 before. Just a tidy little paragraph that sounded suspiciously like it had been copied from a handbook.

The “feedback from multiple coaches” also read like a fortune cookie for beginners.
They never addressed the original issue (the coach being dismissive); they just doubled down on the level placement as if repetition equals logic.

Lots of people clearly have wonderful experiences here, but the communication we encountered was baffling, inconsistent, and unintentionally comedic.

We can’t say enough good things about Designer Athletes. Both my girls have improved their skills in just one month, yes that’s right, one month. Not only have they grown stronger and more skilled, but their confidence has skyrocketed too.

For a moment we almost quit cheer, but finding Designer Athletes completely changed that. The coaches are beyond incredible, patient, supportive, and truly invested in every athlete’s success. They take the time to correct technique, encourage progress, and celebrate every accomplishment, big or small. You can tell they truly care about the kids and love what they do.

The staff greets us with smiles and positive energy, and the athletes cheer each other on. It’s such a great environment for kids to build strength, teamwork, and self confidence.

My girls trained at a full time cheer and gymnastics gym in Orlando for three years. The progress they have made here in Designer Athletes in such a short time is unbelievable. If I could add a million gold stars I totally would because this gym has earned each one. We are so glad we found this amazing program. It has been a total game changer for our family.

If you’re looking for a place where your child will be challenged, supported, and inspired, Designer Athletes is the place to be. We can’t recommend them enough!

Love Designer Athletics! The best high school training gym. The staff are top-notch, with state-of-the-art equipment and ample space for workouts. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, always willing to offer guidance and support. The owners are amazing and are always there to assist you! We love TK, she is our favorite :) The gym creates a welcoming environment that encourages students to lead healthy, positive and active lifestyles. Overall, I highly recommend this training gym for any high school cheer program!

This has been an amazing place for my daughter to grow and thrive. The ownership and coaches truly care about each and every one of their athletes and help them to reach their goals and beyond. My daughter has not only gained skills in tumbling but her confidence and poise has developed into a love of cheer that I didn't expect. Now she is part of a team, and wants to spend at least 5 days a week tumbling and training. We could not be happier that we found Designer and that we are a part of this wonderful environment.

I had an opportunity to join this team late in the season and I unfortunately had to leave it earlier than expected, but this gym genuinely cares about their athletes unlike any other gym I’ve been to. I love every coach, but Katie and Amber are my top favorites. I appreciate them and have so much love and gratitude towards them. If you’re not already a member, this gym is amazing!!

Our family joined Designer Athletics after trying another gym in the upstate. The previous gym wasnt what we were looking for competitively or for growth for our daughter. We had several private lessons with coaches and immediately knew we were going to make the move to Designer. The core values that are taught in the gym are absolutely amazing. The owners and staff are dedicated to the gym and the athletes. The gym has such a family atmosphere and that is something we have missed at past gyms. We are so happy with our decision to move to Designer Athletics and couldnt imagine our daughter anywhere else!

My daughter absolutely adores DA! We started the season at another gym and then things went south. I reached out to DA and they welcomed us with open arms. My daughter reminds me all the time that we should have been here from the very beginning and I totally agree with her. We love the open communication. Parent meetings every month to let everyone know what's going on and keep everyone on the same page. I absolutely love the rules and standards they set. Great Christian community! We love Katie, Matt, Amber and Kody!

We love Designer, but most of all, my kid loves Designer. We have cheered at a D2 gym, a large D1 gym and now Designer. This gym is hands down the best we have participated in. They are communicative and always want the best for the kids. My child had lost her passion for cheer a couple of years ago and I can say without a doubt, without Kody and Amber and their love and support for her, she would not be cheering now. Katie and Matt do an excellent job running DA from the business side and have worked seamlessly with Amber and Kody to make a program that they should be proud of.

They do not allow children to bully or have poor behavior. They do not allow poor parent behavior, or parents to dictate the decisions they make that are best for the teams. They teach life lessons and values beyond cheer that the kids will use for years to come.

As with all things in life, there is room to grow and make improvements, but based on my family's personal experience and comparison to other gyms we have belonged to, this has been the best fit for us.

This gym is a great environment for my athlete! Top notch coaching, great family atmosphere and very competitive. Open door policy so you can ask questions and discuss any concerns you may have. They are very honest and up front with everything and my daughter loves the environment they have created! I love the environment at Designer Athletes so much. All of the coaches are so kind and would do anything for any of the athletes I love the work ethic of Amber and Kody, I love the kindness of TK, Seth and Cortland and I love the humor of David and kody. AWFUL!!! Never heard of a business banning an athlete (a child) due to issues brought forth privately via email, from the parents. After each party exchanged only a couple emails over a 24 hour period we were told that we were not welcome back, not even our daughter. Obviously, customers are not allowed to have their own opinions and feelings. I called and spoke with an owner regarding the ‘’banning” of our daughter. I explained that we would sit in the parking lot or have someone else bring her so that she could continue her classes and privates, that banning her was very immature. The owner didn’t show one ounce of care, only said it was, “our fault”. I stressed the fact that we liked the classes that were offered, and our daughter loved the instructors (as she has worked with them all in the past), but I was told we had to like ALL aspects of their gym in order to participate, even in tumble classes that are offered to general public. Guess it was our fault for speaking out about their dishonesty, and not notifying us of class cancellations that caused unnecessary travel, which prompted the complaint to begin with. I was told we barraged them with our couple emails, and the owner complained of a shut door meeting that they initiated months back. One coach said that since she would not be participating in their “all-star” program, they were not a right fit for our daughter, and that neither party would benefit. Sounds just a tad selfish, I personally think that is for the consumer to decide whether or not the child is benefitting, not the owners. However, we weren’t there for the “all-star” program to begin with. We were there for our daughter to tumble with the tumble instructors that she has worked with for a good part of her cheer career. She felt comfortable with them, progressed and loved the classes, that’s all that mattered to us. We are grateful for David, Seth and TK and what they have done for our daughter over the years. As for the owners, it seems to me that they are pretty much implying if you aren’t going to commit to spend thousands of dollars with them, your child is not worth their time because the owners are not benefitting, especially if you have a complaint. They all seem childish with the “their way or the highway” mentality, as they have told others they were not welcome either. You must have thick skin when running a business because there will always be complaints, can’t just kick out everyone who disagrees, especially if they are willing to pay for a service. So much for Designers “core values”, as they do not display them themselves. Go elsewhere if you have the opportunity…

My daughter absolutely loves it here!! She feels truly supported by all of her teammates and coaches! Everything about this gym is positive!! What they are building is so rare in this industry. We have been in All-Star Cheer for 10 years and we feel so lucky to have found this gym! They not only are the most knowledgeable and qualified staff to train elite cheer skills, but a real family that is built on respect and integrity. This is a staff and gym you can trust! Joining DA has been such an exciting journey for my girls. The skills that they have learned in just a couple of months far surpasses the training we’ve previously had at other cheer/gymnastics facilities. I especially appreciate the family environment. My girls absolutely love it here.
This cheer gym is ran by nationally sought after coaches and choreographers. We are so fortunate to have them in Greenville. Atop of that, this gym is also ran by parents of a competitive cheerleader who wanted to provide the best experience and communication to parents and athletes.
After my daughter’s first tumbling course here, the coach came up to me to provide me feedback and what we needed to work on. I was blown away at the communication and feedback.
We have met amazing parents who are not catty. I appreciate that the leadership at Designer keeps this a drama free environment. No cheer mama drama over here.
My 4 year old daughter is now doing cartwheels, while my 7 year old is working on backhand springs.

My daughter joined from another gym. We were initially worried about changing, but the family atmosphere here is unlike any other. The trainers and the staff have been hands down amazing. Each time we walk in we're greeted with a smile. My daughter's skills have advance tremendously since joining 3 months ago. Can't to see how far we'll go.

I would give them ZERO stars if I could. The most unprofessional staff I have EVER encountered! All they want or care about is getting your money. Paid over $1200 in just 3 months just to be apart of the team as they say but season practices don’t even count until Sept 5th? They keep parents in dark about uniforms expecting parents to blindly invest with out knowing anything ahead of time what cheer uniforms would look like. Parents were told babies would not be showing bellies. They are! They posted photos of elite uniforms and then said the babies were similar. We chose to not put daughter in dance because of the revealing uniforms. These uniforms are inappropriate for only 3-7y. They are completely TRASHY! They refuse to give me a refund after not being happy about uniforms. So yeah $1200 down the drain! Def would not recommend. Completely disorganized!! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS! Their gym has NO A/C and bathrooms are disgusting!

My daughters came to Designers when it opened. The coaches and owners of this gym truly care about their athletes in a way that other gyms we’ve been to did not. My girls have found a new second home here! The coaches care so much about them not only as athletes but as whole humans. In just the short time they have been open using the unlimited classes my youngest has progressed so quickly and my other daughter is conquering her mental blocks because the coaches care!!!!
As a parent their open door policy is excellent and I feel valued and my family feels like more than just a dollar in their account. I can’t think of a better place for a family to trust their child to be safer than Designer Athletics.
