I provide personal, one on one training in at Lowcountry Strength, located inside Charleston Krav Mega. I also offer specifically tailored training programs to meet your fitness needs regardless of age, goals or fitness level.
My approach to fitness is much like the way I approach emergencies as a full-time Firefighter/EMT for the Charleston Fire Department. We find the source of the problem (why has your fitness failed thus far), how to approach fixing the situation (what might work best for you), and then executing the plan in the safest, most efficient way possible (workout program designed specifically for your needs and fitness goals).

Quantitative and Qualitative Proof that Dub Strengths Personal Training Program works!
Qualitative Proof! I started working out with Matt Wilson about 9 months ago because I was out of shape and Covid made it challenging to get to the gym and stick to a routine. I wanted to hire a trainer who was personable but also understood my specific goals. Also, at 39 years old, I wanted a trainer who would show me the right techniques for exercises, so I could avoid another injury and performing the right technique during workouts is at the heart of Matt's training program. Matt says "Train until you're technique fails, not until your reps fail" Before we started, I told Matt about a rotator cuff injury that I had back in 2020 and Matt has always been cognizant of that injury during our workouts. Also, I would tend to get knots in my upper back from sitting at my desk, sleeping weird and golf, but after a few months of training with Matt, I have not had a knot in my back since...
Quantitative Proof! I had labs done back in August of 2021 and then again in November of 2020 to test my body fat %, weight, muscle mass, etc. and my skeletal muscle mass went up 4 pounds and my body fat dropped 3% in that 3 month time period. Also, I recently changed my diet after talking to Matt about my nutrition goals, the foods that I eat, etc. Discussing my nutrition in detail and having a plan that Matt provided has been a game changer.
If you are looking to lose weight, build muscle, or get back in shape, Matt Wilson is your trainer. I would recommend Matt to a 20 year old who is new to fitness or a 75 year old who is looking to be active and avoid injuries. Matt is the best!

As a competitive swimmer I was looking to take my swimming to the next level. I've been working with Matt for the past 8 weeks and have seen both my strength and endurance grow. I am able to move quicker and fast with less effort than two months ago. But the thing I like most is the weekly communication with Matt. Each week he designs the next week's workouts based on how I am feeling. I'm getting the most out of my workouts without putting myself in a physical deficit. Matt cares about his own fitness but also the fitness of his clients and it shows in the results he can help produce. I cannot recommend Matt enough. If you have goals, Matt with get you there.

Matt is truly a professional who created personalized workouts for my fitness goals, but also tailored to my injury. He was able to create a plan for me to use at home and in the gym that was easy to follow. In our in person training sessions he showed me how to do the movements properly so I could not only work towards my fitness goals, but to also help heal the injury I was dealing with. He responded promptly via email or text answering any questions I had about movements and seems very knowledgeable in his field! Five stars!

I’ve been on one of matts plans for several months now and I can say I’m very excited about staying with him for the Foreseeable future. I’m training for a specific event and Matt has gone out of his way to research my particular event aside from my input, and develop a program specific to me and my event.
He stays in touch with me as much as I need and I get constant feedback from him about how I feel and how training is going. He helps critique my lifts and movements and makes sure I understand what I’m doing since I’m training in another state from him.
Matt has a far exceeded any expectations I had involving hiring a trainer.
I’m stronger, faster, and better than I was before hiring him and I would recommend him to anyone.
