A fine course if you are playing multiple courses during your visit. Very nice layout but there are some repairs needed. Cart path is tough to drive on, rough is better. Some greens being repaired but crabgrass around greens makes putting off the green difficult. Similar to my home course up north except I pay half the price.

Greens are terrible fungus grown and weeds also.
Most holes are unputtable. Sand traps are not raked and hard as a rock. Their are so many nice courses in this area i would definately not go back

Played course on 7-21-25.Clumps of wet cut grass in the fairways. The greens were damaged by a fungus thus leaving sand to put through. The putting surface was similar to a driving range mat .
.The stimpmeter would be at a 7 if you could get a reading. The land is beautiful but the upkeep is poor.Save your money.

Course in decent shape. A few greens on the back 9 were a little spotty, but you can see they are making an effort to fix them. Fairways and tee boxes were good. The only downer was the cart path. Dangerously bumpy over tree roots.

Despite reading previous reviews about questionable course conditions, was very pleased with the round I enjoyed yesterday. From tee to green, everything was in good condition. Was it as pristine as Harbour Town? No, but for the price it was a course I would gladly play again. Would play here again before I played Crescent Pointe again, greens in much better condition.

Course is well designed and laid out for a good round of challenging golf. We played after a heavy downpour the previous day - Fairways were in very good condition though the greens were shaggy, sandy and patchy. Most tee boxes were rough and patchy. Biggest opportunity for improvement is on the cart paths- almost all were extremely bumpy and in dire need of maintenance. I’d recommend highly only after the cart paths are fixed and then I’d compare favorably or better than other off-island courses. Staff was very pleasant and helpful to help make this feel better…

Course is ok. Decent layout, wide open fairways. I don’t think you need to worry about losing a ball here. The greens are kinda bare in areas. For the price it’s to be expected, not going to wow you. For some reason no cart person or a starter on a Sunday. There are definitely better options in Bluffton.

What a great place to golf!!! Even better place to have Bluffton Pressure Washing come and wash your house! Great course at a great price! They have food and drinks from a cart person. I brought my friends from Palmetto Bluff and we had a great time!

Not perfect, but wow! Doing all the right things to bring this course back as a favorite. Played it two years ago. Was terrible. Not really even playable. Was told back then there was a new owner, and they had high hopes. Congrats, cause they've done a great job! The greens were aerated this time out, but only with small tines. They rolled great. I'll be back.

The pool area has a great atmosphere! There's a pavilion with plenty of seating that is covered and has many fans. There's plenty of seating around the pool and tables with covered areas. It is beautiful and spacious. There is also a 1-ft pool next to a regular size pool.

Grounds were extremely unkept and staff was very rude. The greenskeeper rolled his eyes and had an attitude when I picked my cart up and asked for directions. I bought a bag of balls before my tee time and he came up to my box, picked up my bag and emptied all the balls infront of me while I was hitting. He then came up to us on the second hole and said we weren’t keeping a pace of play and after he left had someone else come up to us again at the next hole. The cart path was extremely unkept, very rough to drive on, many cracks, potholes and bumps. Overall a bad experience and extremely unhappy with the service we received for how much it cost. Definitely won’t be returning or recommending this place.

Rude staff, reprimanded multiple times for talking with our other group who had a separate tee time adjacent to ours. Said it was “perceived” as slow play. Even though we were delayed by the regular play of the groups ahead of us. No reason to talk to us repeatedly if we are not holding up the rate of play. a lot of work happening around the course, long grass on fairways. Finished 9 in 2.5 hours delayed by other groups. Would not recommend

Lots of sand on the greens - streaks, not evenly distributed - weird.
Nice course layout & well posted directions from hole - hole.

Lots of water & wildlife.
Some of the tee boxes were well worn, but greens were mostly green - just very sandy.

Average course. I have played better & worse.

I’m a local and try to play this course 4-6 times a year. I played 12/31 for the first time since the spring. If I’m correct the same company which owns Crescent Point also owns this property. They are slowly starting to repair this course. Some greens are in great shape and some need major work. You can see that tee boxes and fairways have had extra seeding this year and are in much better shape than the spring.

IMO it’s a terrific course layout and for a very reasonable price. If they continue to put the work in maintaining the course it will become a must play.

Local note if it rains this course unfortunately doesn’t drain well and holds water. Best to wait at least three days after a heavy rain to allow the course to drain.

Had a good time on this course. I had read all the reviews and had low expectations. I was pleasantly surprised. Fairways were cut tight but the ball sat up just fine. Greens were slower than what we play at home but rolled well. STAY out of the rough. It is cut long and being Bermuda, it eats golf balls. Didn’t lose any in it but is very hard to find. Overall a good course and a good value for the
Price.

Played front 9 today, it's been pretty dry here in the Hilton Head area, but the course was in fairly poor shape. Greens were very spotty and fairways were rock hard and browned out. The bermuda rough was left long so it was easy to lose your ball. One big positive is the layout.

Had early tee time over Memorial Day Weekend. No one showed up at the pro shop. Doors locked. Members showed up and were very surprised. Cart barn kid gave everyone carts and wasn't aware that pro shop staff had not showed up. Course in lousy condition. Bunkers unplayable due to water, lack of sand and too much grass growing in them. Collars around greens were burnt out. Lots of bare spots on the very slow greens. Major disappointment.

Honestly the worst golf course I've ever played in my life so far. Greens are horrendous. Full of holes that they fill with sand and spray paint the sand green. No consistency to puts cause it makes the ball bounce. Mostly all the Bunkers are are water filled, especially hole #18 which you would think is one of your signature holes.

Came here on a Tuesday as a group of 4, set our tee time as 8:20. We were told there was a tournament right behind us as soon as we got the golf cart, a group of 42 people. Didn’t think much of it, we were going at a normal pace the entire time, having to stop and wait a few times for the group in front of us, nothing out of the ordinary. One of the workers then came up to us and said ‘you gotta hurry up or you’ll have to skip’ my brother responded with ‘we’ve been having to stop for the group in front of us’ to which he said ‘move it along’ and drove off. We were all absolutely livid. We paid a good chunk of money to come here, and we’re NOT the ones that made the schedule to have open tee times all morning, in addition to the tournament going on. It ruined all of our moods for the remainder of the time we played (we were only at hole 8) and kept having to skip holes to avoid getting yelled at further. It was ridiculous, and HIGHLY unprofessional. Do not recommend this place at all with that, and the horrible trails for the golf cart. Luckily everyone else we met there was beyond respectful and kind, but again it was a horrible experience to have paid $65 a person. There are much better places here to go instead!

Very nice layout and routing, but the conditions are not worthy of the design. Crabgrass/weeds on the putting surface throughout, some tee boxes with very little grass, and bunkers needing a lot of work. In general the maintenance budget needs to be doubled. I would only recommend to beginners who won’t mind the sub-par conditions.

Update - played on 3/13/24 and nothing has change but actually got worse. New company owns them Metropolitan Golf Group but still not seeing any changes. Half the bunkers on the front had water in them from a rain 5 days ago; tee boxes and greens are mixed alright and very bad. Bunkers edges are collapsing on themselves. Did not see one maintenance person on the course. Probably the worst course in the area. Owners, please do something!!!

Old review: Really liked the layout and overall condition of the course, a few beat up tee boxes and a few bunker issues. But they seemed to be working on it. Staff is very friendly, nice pro shop, not sure about bar/grill. Off peak and excellent rate; walk-able course and very pretty with plenty of wildlife. Greens were very fast and movement on most all. Worth going back too.

I came to Hilton Head on vacation with my family and chose Eagle's Pointe as the price point was just right. I have played this course before, so I wanted to see if there was a big difference – and WOW! I see a big difference from when I was here last year. You can tell the new owner is working hard to restore the course's reputation. The staff was professional and welcoming. I highly recommend this gem to anyone seeking a golfing destination if they are in this area.

I recently returned to Eagle's Pointe after a change in ownership, and the transformation is nothing short of extraordinary. The dedication of the new owners to enhancing the entire golfing experience has brought about remarkable improvements that warrant high praise. I was pleasantly surprised by the investments made in the course, the facilities and the equipment. It's evident that the commitment to maintaining course conditions is a top priority for the new ownership.

If you haven't had the chance to experience the positive changes, I highly recommend giving it a go – you'll be treated to a round that reflects the dedication of the new owners to creating an unparalleled golfing experience. Hats off to the new ownership for breathing new life into Eagle's Pointe.

I recently had the pleasure of revisiting, Eagle’s Point Golf Club, under its new ownership, and the changes are nothing short of remarkable. The improvements made to the course conditions have elevated the entire experience to a whole new level. From the moment I stepped onto the first tee it was evident that the new owners have invested time, effort and passion into revitalizing the course. The greens ones showing signs of wear, have been transformed!! The attention to detail and maintenance of the course is truly commendable. The overall atmosphere has seen a positive shift. The staff under the new management is enthusiasm and committed to customer service making every interaction a delight. Kudos to the new owners!

Course is worthwhile to play. We were two groups playing this course with varying degrees of skill. The course was not as bad as previous players have mentioned. The staff are friendly and the course manageable with some long holes and pretty views. The cart paths are dangerously bumpy and tee boxes and sand traps require maintenance, but fairways and greens are in decent shape for this time of year. It’s not the most difficult course to play but well suited for novices and mid-handicappers. Everyone enjoyed the round and didn’t regret playing this course. The course can easily improve its rating if new management invests in the appropriate areas. We stayed for a post-round of drinks despite the lack of availability of food selection.

Me and my friends had a great golf experience at Eagle's Pointe. The course was in great shape for the most part, except for the greens on the back nine which had weeds growing all over them. However, considering the green fees, this is all around one of the best value golf courses you will find in Hilton Head. Very nice people working there, made us feel very welcome and seemed to appreciate us playing there.
All in all, it was definitely a course that is worth the price of admission and then some. We had so much fun playing here.

Staying on the island. Decided to play off the Island on Sunday.
When we pulled up there was no one to take our bags. The area around the clubhouse had a lot of weeds. Looked like it needed some attention.

We went in and there was one lady in the grill/bar who also doubled in the pro shop.

She said it had just been sold a week ago and the new owners had aerated the greens and fairways. I did ask for a discount but we paid the full $50.00.

She did give us a bag of ice for the cooler. She seemed really nice.

Once we got out on the course, there were a lot of weed patches in the fairways. This caused virtually little roll with any shots. I moved up a box.
The bunkers were unplayable with just dirt and weeds growing in a lot of them. The cart paths were pretty beat up as well.

On the tee boxes it was hard to see some of the markers because they were off to the side in taller grass. The grass on them was mostly weeds.

Although a lot of the greens did have approaches without any bunkers in front, there were weeds that prevented your ball from rolling on. The aeration and top dressing caused chips to stop well short of where they usually would have.

On the plus side, the cart parking break was easy to set on the first try every time. The overall layout of the course was cool. We didn’t eat at the turn but the prices listed on the cart for food appeared to be quite reasonable.

I hope that the new owners have deep pockets. This place has a long way to go. But if they upgrade everything, then it could potentially be first class.

Played there Monday, 8/14. It was awful! Weeds in traps, large clumps of cut grass in fairways, grass on the greens was unevenly cut and impossible to putt. Grounds around the clubhouse were uncut and in terrible shape. We played nine holes and quit out of frustration! Cart attendant told us he thought it was being sold and if we didn’t like it we could play elsewhere. Not a way to keep paying customers coming back! And we won’t be back…,

Only paid $60 for two of us to play 18 with a cart. Great course? no. The tee boxes and greens are in terrible condition, but you get what you pay for I guess. Decent course for a group of guys learning to play and to have fun, but if you are competitive and are at all serious about golf, please stay away. Every green has weeds all over it so your ball can bobble back and forth like pinball. If it was at all more expensive, I would have rated 1 star. Staff was super nice and friendly. My wife and I recently played this course using Group Golfer coupons so we received a reduced rate. We were quite impressed with the layout and challenges the course offered. Most of the sandtraps were in decent shape but there were a couple of traps with little sand. Most of the tee boxes were in fair shape but the 18 hole's tee box was in very poor condition with more dirt than grass. The greens were a coin toss as poa grass made them very bumpy and difficult to read. They also have a lot of undulations which made them challenging but in a good way. With a little more effort, this could be a even more enjoyable course. Despte some of it's warts, we still enjoyed our loop.

Played four times in March after playing Hilton Head Island courses during February. By far the best fairway conditions of the other Bluffton Courses we played in a similar price range.
Sand traps were well maintained. Some greens are thick with poana but typical for "winter conditions". Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff from the pro-shop check-in, cart barn and starters. And during two rounds course rangers actually came out and addressed slow play of groups in front of us. (Rarely see that happen on "the island" courses). Great layout. We'll be back.

Maybe I’m being overly nice giving a 5 stars but I drove down from Buffalo- 30 degrees- to HH 70 degrees - found this place by checking reviews and price and challenge level. Eagle point was tremendous. Other than some of that southern grass on the greens ya’ll have around here ‘til it heats up and kills it, this course was wonderful. Great fairways, wonderful views. My wife were only going to play here once but we ended up canceling our other tee times at two other places and played here three times this week. Played the course on 5/30/2022. course is in poor condition - bunkers have little to no sand, and are full of weeds!! I see previous reviews criticized fairways... They were not in good shape, but did appear to be improving and were playable in my opinion. The greens had not been mowed or rolled for some time...this may be part of an effort to improve/save them...not sure. They were 'fuzzy', about 1/4" grass height in some spots. Surprisingly, the ball rolled OK. Tees were rough, but again, playable. These conditions are a shame considering the nice layout and design of the course. I am really curious as to what the problem is...lack of funding, lack of staffing as a result of the pandemic? The friendly, accomodating staff resulted in my giving two stars instead of one. My advice to the owners/management, for what it is worth, is to be upfront with people on their current conditions/challenges on the website, and on the phone before accepting/booking T times. You may find golfers willing to support your recovery efforts and still play the course. I can empathize with the 'catch-22' this creates, but it is better than the negative reviews resulting from people showing up to these current conditions, who unknowingly included this course in their vacation/golf trip plans. I hope my review will be helpful

By far this is one of the worst courses I have ever played on and by far the worst course conditions to be found in the Hilton Head area at the moment. Very little grass to be found in the fairways and the greens were full of weeds and many had bare dirt patches on them! Even the traps were in very bad condition with little sand and broken down edges to them. As we played our round yesterday most of our conversation centered around how ripped off we felt after getting a "deal" on GolfNow for $50. If we had driven by before the round and checked it out closely, I would have cancelled and even declined an offer to play it for $15 had one been made! It is obvious that at one time this was a very nice course but it seems like the current owners have left the course to the elements for the past few years now and are just trying to to do the least possible and still get whatever revenue they can from unsuspecting tourists. Shame....

40 years and this was the absolutely the worst conditions of any golf course I have ever played. The greens are bad and the back nine fairways were worse. We had to move the balls into the rough from the middle of the fairways on numerous occasions to find grass. Came down here from NJ on a week-long vacation looking forward to some great golf after learning about the reputation of the sport in the HHI area. My family chose Eagle's Pointe GC cause my late uncle had a town home within the private community and always loved playing here. Have to say I was beyond disappointed with the experience. I can deal with chewed up tee boxes, grass clippings in the fairways and standing muddy water in the bunkers HOWEVER... The complete lack of maintenance on the greens was utterly unacceptable. The amount of disease from hole to hole made it impossible to even putt the golf ball with any kind of predictable outcome. They were that bad! Conditions were progressively worse from hole #6 on, so bad that we stopped play after 9. My cousins (who have played the course for years) said the landscape was once pristine but has since been completely let go. Such a great layout too, what a shame!!

Enjoyed playing here in the past but I have to say I was disappointed with the condition of the course. Grass clippings were evident all over the fairways several tee boxes had loads of weeds, as did many of the bunkers. Granted they had heavy rains two days prior and I can excuse some water and wash down sand in the bunkers. But not poor maintenance . Course was considerably more rundown than I remember in the past. greens were okay but quite slow.

Staff was friendly.and the course was adequate but the greens were terrible. Very slow. Standing water in the traps. Lost a ball in the trap! For $70 green fees, expected much better. Play was slow as the round took 4.5 hours. Will not go back.

This is the course for you if you’re:

Looking to play a dog track? ✅
Looking to be overcharged, especially as an out of towner? ✅
Looking to have your $300 rangefinder disappear at the bag drop? ✅

My advice...go play Old South.

What has happened to this place?!?! Once one of the better in the area, fairways bare and soaked, greens fair at best, bunkers unplayable. Putting some money back in would help. Such a good layout, shame they’ve let it go.

I would recommend this as a last resort if you're a decent golfer. You could barely distinguish the fairways and tee boxes from the rough. Fairways were as long as the rough, tee boxes hadn'tbeen cut in quite some time, bunkers were ponds with zero sand, and the course was over watered. The greens held true, but due to the over watering, they were very inconsistent. It was very apparent they haven't been able to keep up with the course. During play they cut the rough so low, they had to use blowers to remove the 1.5" clippings. Very disappointed in the maintenance, because the course design was fantastic.

Played there a couple of weeks ago. Sad, this used to be a great course and a lot of fun. Not now. No one in our group had fun and at a resort course isn't that the point? Unmanaged fairways, ridiculously high rough (spent lots of time looking for balls ) traps were washed out, slow greens with bald spots.
All in all, we got a good deal on a round of golf but not worth it. Hint to the guy that cuts the fairways. Slow down.

★ 3

Fairways were ok. Greens were good. Played here 4 times and it's a good course. But the fairways need a little TLC and the high Bermuda rough makes it hard to find your ball even with 3 people looking. Not far off the fairway, but like a foot or two. Bunkers need some maintenance. I still think this is a really good course. Staff is super friendly and engaged.

With COVID19 on the rise, we were told that we couldn't have an individual cart to practice social Distancing. We were then told that if we did it would be an additional $20. When we asked about the group behind us that had individual carts, then we were told that they were members. There's no other course that weve played since the pandemic that has not allowed us to social distance and it was no additional chareg in Bluffton. We will not be returning. This occurred last week.

First time playing this course. Frankly, I'm a little disappointed. I know it has been fairly dry down here the past couple weeks but the greens are in terrible shape and the fairways are not much better. Neither Hilton Head country club or old South have these issues. The layout of the course is good. So it's unfortunate that the course just doesn't seem to be maintained very well right now. The cart paths are also in terrible condition. I definitely would not pay full price to play here again with all of the other incredible courses down here.

Had the opportunity to play Eagles Pointe today and was pleasantly surprised with the conditions of the course. A cart path only rule was in effect due to recent heavy rainfall ( over 5 inches) however that was expected. Clubhouse attendant was great, very friendly and helpful. The condition of the course was above average. Tee boxes and fairways were over seeded during the fall so they were pretty lush and nice looking. The greens were in excellent condition and ran true. Not a extremely difficult course but a couple of the holes were on the challenging side. Over all I liked the place a lot and will definitely return. Cost to play was also very reasonable.

After we checked in they then refused to let my son play with me. The gentleman behind the counter said “we don’t want kids here, they’ll run all over out there.” They then expressed surprise when I told them we were leaving then. I’m a golf professional and this is why our game is loosing players. I even told them I’m a PGA Professjonal on vacation and I’ll make sure we are never in anyone’s way. Attitude like this from people in our game pushes people away. We went to Island West where we were welcomed to play. I’ll never go back to a Crown Mgt facility after how we were treated.

Went there 8/2/17 & they aerated the greens the day before. You couldn't make a straight putt from 2'. We were there on vacation & wouldn't have booked there had we known in advance. We were told they, & all courses at HHI, aerate the greens several times a year. In the future, instead of booking online, we learned you should call to confirm the course conditions before booking. We actually thought the layout of the course was okay, but I don't ever see us playing there again. We didn't like the response we got to the situation in the clubhouse. There's just too many courses to choose from at HH.

Eagle's Point commands a solid reputation with both local and visiting golfers alike. The Club's own literature says: A true and fair test of golf for players of all ability levels, Eagle's Pointe features wide, well-defined fairways, dramatic bunkering and magnificent undulating greens - all surrounded by the area's native grasses and towering pines.

Eagle’s Pointe Golf Club is a defining statement and signature design of PGA Tour professional Davis Love III. It’s located in Bluffton, SC, just a few miles from the bridge that leads to Hilton Head Island and, among local golfers, it is one of the most popular 'off-island' courses.

Eagle’s Pointe strikes the balance between a difficult golf course and one everyone can play; it’s one of the most player-friendly courses on Hilton Head Island. This course will have you hitting every club in the bag and allow you to take advantage of what you do well. If you want to score well at Eagle’s Pointe, you’ll need to hit a lot of fairways and avoid the ominous fairway bunkers. That shouldn’t be a problem if you can hit the ball straight as a lot of the hazards here are on the edge of the fairway. But that’s only half the battle, you’ll also have to perform well on the large, undulating putting surfaces.

The course offers several risk-reward opportunities that will challenge golfers of all abilities. While the generous landing areas allow you to hit driver off most tees, the emphasis here is on the approach shots to large, undulating greens. Love has always placed an emphasis on the putting game and boldly contoured greens have become his signature. The greens at Eagle’s Pointe don’t disappoint in this respect.

After your round, be sure to stop by the lounge for your favorite after-golf libation. If you’re hungry, why not try one of Eagle’s Pointe’s delicious sandwiches such as the Club or Pulled Pork BBQ? Their weekly specials include a Meatloaf Sandwich served on a hoagie roll and slathered in brown gravy and a Sausage and Peppers sandwich which is phenomenal.

The pro shop at Eagle’s Pointe Golf Club is fully-stocked with some of the top names in golf equipment and apparel you can find. Browse through their selection of the game’s top name brands. You can also schedule some golf lessons so that you can put that equipment to good use. And what better place to use it than on the practice range. Eagle’s Pointe has a full-length driving range where you can hit every one of those new clubs, as well as a chipping area and practice putting green.

Want free unlimited range balls for those new clubs? As a member of Eagle’s Pointe, that’s just one of the perks. Through Brown Golf Management’s membership program, you’ll have access and unlimited range balls at 7 local Bluffton/Hilton Head courses as well as unlimited golf and free golf lessons any time you like. Now you have no excuse not to get better!

Course was in good shape and not too crowded compared to the racetracks up in Myrtle. Called the day before we were to play to make tee time and ensure rental clubs would be available. No problem. Showed up two hours before tee time so we could putt and hit some balls and relax before teeing off. We were informed no rental clubs were available because a large group had arrived unannounced earlier and rented all clubs. I couldn't understand why that would happen considering we had scheduled day before. The young man working the counter (Sam) did his best to make it right...he let my Dad play a demo set of Titleist clubs and went and got his own clubs out of his trunk for me to play. I appreciated that effort. Would play there again but will never travel without my clubs again!
