My son and I have been members since 2020. We love that it's 24/7 as our schedules vary, and we tend to be night owls. So it works for us. And when I go on my own, I feel I'm in a safe environment.

They have all the equipment I need as well as a large exercise room for yoga, free exercise, and sometimes I'll use the space to do workouts from my tablet. Recently, they have added remotes to each of the treadmills and stationary bikes for easier channel management while using that equipment. There are larger TVs, but if you're not a fan of what's on TV, they always have great music playing.

The gym is always clean, worth well-stocked cleaning supplies to wipe down equipment after use. Bathrooms are always clean as well.

They have a seating area in case your workout partner finishes before you. There are plenty of cubbies, mini-lockers, and coat hooks for personal gear.

And my personal favorite is that they decorate for seasons and have inspirational quotes (found on the window to the office). And whenever I've had questions, they've been very responsive via email (as we do not go during staffed hours).

Been coming here for 2+ years and always paid in full. The one time I need to buy a 1 month membership they over charge me and will not refund the fee even though I have paid in full the past 2 years., They refused to cancel my monthly membership after only 2 visits. I guess the almighty $$ wins out, savor it since with the new planet fitness opening just down the road that will be the last $$.

Great option for a vacation gym. Close to the Ocean Boulevard hotels. Ed runs a clean if small gym. The facility is well -equipped with dumbbells, benches, a power rack, smith machine, treadmills, ellipticals, recumbent and upright bikes. There is also a good variety of strength equipment. The fitness room is available for the 2 hours each week when there is no class. The room has TRX suspension trainers, a heavy bag, speed bag, small dumbbells, resistance bands and yoga blocks and blankets.

I wish I could give this gym TEN stars!

My boyfriend and I utilized this gym while on vacation for two weeks and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! The staff was so kind and accommodating, and worked with us since we were there for a short time.

The gym is spotlessly clean, with a wide variety of weight machines, cardio machines, and a separate room for classes and individual independent workout space. There are steps, kettle bells, medicine balls, resistance bands - even jump ropes and a punching bag! We even took a yoga class one day and the prices were extremely reasonable.

It is clearly apparent that they take great pride in maintaining the space, and it has a very warm, friendly atmosphere. They play awesome music, and have inspirational quotes around the gym. Exceptionally clean bathrooms as well.

We will definitely use this gym when we visit again. Thank you so much Edison’s!

I was looking for a temporary gym while my home was being built. Edison's Smart Fitness was the perfect option for my lifting and cardio needs. The gym was extremely clean and the equipment was top notch. The only drawback was it was on the smaller side and got crowded at times. But, overall if looking for a temporary gym a vacation gym or a more permanent spot to get healthy I would recommend Edison's Smart Fitness.

I am vacationing in N. Myrtle Beach and have an Active and Fit membership. Edison’s was listed as a participating fitness center, however, after I ran 2.2 miles to get there to really just use a roller and stretch before running back to my hotel, I was turned away by the owner. He answered the door and promptly informed me that the gym was only for locals, I asked if he accepted A&F and he said yes, “but”, he can’t extend to visitors bc they would be overwhelmed during peak vacation times, however, at the time I was there, it was mostly empty. He was adamant even thought there was nothing indicating his “restricted” policy. He also informed me he only cared about the fitness of the members of his community. I called A&F after what I considered a fairly rude explanation of his restricted membership. They attempted to work it out with him as well, to no avail. In my opinion, if you accept insurance payments you can’t then turn around and restrict membership. It’s like a hospital refusing to see a person who is out of state. Really annoying and left a rotten impression of Edison fitness. Would expect better from a business in the business of fitness and health. Take your business somewhere else.

This gym has some nice Cybex equipment but is very small and crowded. I bought the weekly pass for $45 and was told I could workout from 8 to 6 they will not allow you access outside these hours. I went at 8 and boom a sign saying temporary hrs 9 to 5 so I couldn't get in. I would not recommend this place on my experience. I will not be back on future trips. In my opinion when you pay that price and they have your ID and info you should have unlimited access when your paying that for a week pass to said gym or better communication with the customer.

We almost instantly knew we wanted to join. The equipment is top notch. The staff were very warm and welcoming. The owner gave us a tour and we felt very comfortable walking around our first time there and everyone I made eye contact with just smiled and nodded back "hello". The doors are always locked so only members can freely enter. Guests that go with members it's only $10 a day which is on par with everywhere else I've looked. I won't be missing Planet Fitness at all.

My boyfriend a I’s vacation go-to gym! We visit cherry grove beach every year and struggled finding a gym that accommodated to our workout plans, was nearby, and reasonably priced for what you get. Edison’s smart fitness fit our needs and more. For myself, going to a new gym with a new crowd is super uncomfortable but the owners truly made me feel welcome and comfortable every moment I was there! It is the cleanest gym I have ever visited, has great working equipment, and truly impressed me. We’ve gone for two years in a row now and plan on going here every year for the week we vacation. 10/10 recommend for locals and non locals!

This is a great gym. I worked out there several times on my vacation to N. Myrtle Beach. The staff is friendly and very helpful. All of the equipment is new and the facility is spotless. They even have several cleaning wipe dispensaries around the gym so you can clean the equipment yourself which I really liked. The gym is a little small but it has everything you need for a good workout. I had found a few other gyms in the area I was going to try but after I went to Edison's I never thought about going anywhere else. I Highly recommend!!

I visit Edison's Smart Fitness about five times a week, take classes, and work out for about an hour afterwards. The room where the classes are taught is very nice- not to big-not to small, and the instructors are quite competent and enthusiastic.. As far as working out is concerned, the equipment is state of the art and thoughtfully arranged that the user may have a systematic workout experience.
What I really love about Edison's Smart Fitness is that it is a clean, well lighted, place. The owner's are very welcoming and somehow they have managed to create a very "homey" atmosphere in a gym setting. They are helpful and willing to offer advice, but it is never imposed. It is a very comfortable place to be for folks of all shapes and sizes. This is important because I have often felt that gyms are for the "already fit". It is nice to have a place where I can relax, workout at my own pace, and make significant progress toward a healthier lifestyle.

This is a great fitness center. Ed and Allison as with all of the staff are very professional and have great advice for your workout. They have free weights, Cybex equipment, treadmils, elipitcals and arc trainers and ore. Although I do not use the Yoga area they do provide various lessons such as Yoga, Polates, Zumba and more. Even have classes for those like me that have never done this before. I would highly recomend it for both locals and transients. They also participate in Healthways Prime and Silver Sneakers.

Love my new gym!!! I joined Edison's about a month ago and I am loving it. The staff are so friendly and helpful and this is the cleanest gym I have ever been in. This state of the art facility has all the latest equipment and lots of classes to choose from. Do yourself a favor a check it out, you will not be sorry.

Awesome faculty with everything you need and more! They have the most update to machines along with free weights and Yoga, Pilates and Zumba classes included in their membership. They are even open 24 hrs a day. What more could you ask for!

Ed and Alison (owners) take the time to get to know each member and are friendly, helpful and sincere. Facility is clean and well-maintained.
