Mixed feelings about this place. My husband and joined even before they opened. On one hand, for exercise, you have all the equipment you need. Group classes and swimming are not one of my needs and if the same with you, you'll appreciate the price point for what you get IN OUR AREA. Living in Five Forks area, it is the closest gym with this mix of equipment for this price. BUT, with travel, there are no sister locations in NC or SC or really anywhere. And since then, because of my travel, I have also joined planet fitness. There's one in Simpsonville and lucky for Fitness 19, they are a longer haul time and mileage wise. You have so much more at Planet Fitness, for the same price per month. And I have YET to be on a piece of equipment that had torn upholstery or missing components. But at Fitness 19, I complained no less than 5 x about a gooey damaged hand grip, before i found it to be repaired. And something in the gym always needs to be fixed.....for weeks. And book rests on many of the cardio pieces have never been repaired - and it is obvious that they are not considered a valuable component to do so. I like to watch video or tv - but my phone will not rest without this element. But for now, Fitness 19 is the closest gig, so I continue too maintain my membership. But I do think that they would find it difficult to survive if there were a larger gym like a Planet Fitness in closer proximity. As kind as the people are, they don't reinvest their money back in to the equipment to ensure a good experience for their members.

Just joined a few weeks ago, the only thing I recommend is Sanitary wipes to wipe down equipment after workout. They do keep the place clean. While working out I see the employees Vacuuming and wiping down equipment BUT it still needs sanitary wipes. Some people sweat a lot and after they’re done using the equipment it’s still wet 😷. Other than that, very friendly environment and I enjoy it. Equipment works good!

You get what you pay for, one of the tv's has been broken for months. Some of the machines have broken and cracked parts. Need to make sanitizing wipes available.

I signed up over the phone about two months ago. I get a charge yesterday for $39.99 for a yearly fee. I call them to explain that I did not know of the fee (it was never mentioned when I signed up over the phone) and that I never signed an acknowledgement of said fee. I'm told that the fee is binding no matter what was told me over the phone. I encourage everyone to get a copy of their agreement from this gym and recognize that you can be victim to various charges that they elect to send out. I should have known better. This is because in 2012 I cancelled my membership in person. A month later I got billed again saying they don't have my cancellation paperwork. At that point I had moved so I had to mail it in. Another month went by and I get another charge. They told me they had yet to receive my letter. I resent another one that finally was "received". I am cancelling my membership here and encourage others to seek memberships elsewhere.

I have been a member at this gym for almost two months. I joined because of the Cyber Monday deal. I love this gym! The staff is friendly and the clients are all very respectful of each other. The only downside is there are no showers. There is always ample access to weights/machines. They keep the gym very clean. This gym is a great value!

Stay away! Nothing special equipment-wise, same as any gym, which would be just fine IF the staff had an inkling of customer support. Instead they are very rude. If you try to leave, they try to make it very hard on you. Not only can you not cancel over the phone (you have to physically go there to sign that you are canceling), but when my wife went to cancel, the guy spoke with such a bad attitude; Demanded she "go sit at the table", asked her the reason for leaving, and proceeded to THROW the paper at her saying "good luck to you".

So now, instead of making the process easy and encouraging us to come back if other options aren't working out, they've now lost customers for good in us and anyone that reads this and hopefully steers clear.

horrible experience in trying to have my account closed. I was a member for 2 years and moved I forgot to cancel my account before i left. I called to cancel the person said to mail in a letter requesting they cancel. #1 this is annoying #2 after sending the letter in they would not cancel "the owner said he never got it. I had to do a charge back i got a months worth of member ship back but now they keep charging me. This company can keep charging you even if you change your number or that card is expired. At this point I will have to cancel my credit card and heart my credit to stop the charges. I wish I had gone to another gym this has been a horrible experience.

I used to belong to the Sportsclub at Five Forks, but Fitness 19 has all the equipment I need to keep in shape, is very clean, equipment is always available and it is a lot cheaper. I don't need a pool, fitness classes or a juice bar, so why pay for them, and I never used the showers or sauna...so I joined Fitness 19 and am very happy and still have change in my pocket.
