⚠️ Warning: Just go to the Planet Fitness across the street. These people are unreasonable.

I just finished a 2-year contract with this gym. I meant to cancel the month before it ended, but life happened. In September, I noticed a charge on my checking account for the annual “Rate Lock Fee.” I immediately contacted them to cancel my membership and asked for a refund since I would no longer be using their services. They cancelled my membership—but refused to refund the fee—claiming it was an “Admin Fee.”

Let’s be clear: the fee’s purpose is to “lock in” your rate for the following year. Since I was cancelling, it gave me zero benefit. The gym staff then tried to defend the charge by reinterpreting their own contract in ways that simply don’t exist. They made up rules after the fact to justify keeping my money. When I pushed back with the actual contract I signed, they doubled down and misrepresented their own words and implement words that just don't exist within it. Reading the contract won’t help—you’ll see one thing, and they’ll claim another. Fortunately, I kept every email, had the contract in hand, and can read plain English.

After my attempts to reason with them failed, I disputed the charge with my bank. The bank resolved it almost instantly in my favor and permanently credited my account. Now this gym will have to pay it back to the bank instead of simply refunding me in good faith.

There are far better gyms in the area—including one directly across the street. I wouldn’t waste your time or money here. Management either doesn’t understand their own contracts, or simply doesn’t care about doing the right thing. Either way, it’s unprofessional and concerning.

If you find yourself in the same situation, get everything in writing. When they refuse to refund you, dispute the charge with your bank for services not rendered. Merchants who accept cards are bound by contracts too, and those contracts prevent them from abusing situations like this.

I am extremely disappointed with Dynamic Fitness in Moncks Corner. My contract ended months ago, yet they have continued to withdraw money from my account, including an unauthorized annual fee. I have called multiple times and even sent emails, and it has now been over 3 months with no resolution or refund.
This is not just poor customer service—it feels like deliberate neglect or even fraudulent billing. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, I strongly advise looking elsewhere. This experience has been beyond frustrating and completely unacceptable.

I just joined and have only been once, but I was really impressed. There is tons of equipment, including pieces that are hard to find elsewhere like the plate loaded glute dive/hip thrust, glute ham raise and more. The Nautilus hack squat was phenomenal, and by far the best one I've used. There's a dedicated deadlift platform with bumper plates.

The locker room looks brand new with nice cabinets and seating. Overall the gym has an old school vibe to it. It wasn't crowded at all. Pretty much everything you'd want if you're into bodybuilding.

Let's get in to it. You cannot tell me about my experience. My initial comment posted just over 2 years ago and in addition to the air conditioning. The floors in the dance room always had moisture, you never mopped and little bugs were always present. The toilets are not always functioning. If it wasn't for the instructors the equipment would never have been cleaned. Let's compare your gym to blod fitness, every time I walk in there you can smell the freshness, cleaniness of the building. I can honestly say I have never had that experience in your gym. As for your response to my situation. I have my initial text from November 18th, 2024 with no one stating anything. I also, have my call log where I called an left several messages. Even with this review it took you 9 days to respond to my second review and 2 years for my first. In my opinion your response was rude and instead of listening you became defensive. Overall I was not overly impressed. My husband and I came in one day to get information about getting a membership and were offered a 7 day trial. During those 7 days, this is what we noticed: the gym could use more sanitation stations if it is expected that everyone clean the equipment after use, the paint on the walls was incomplete and made it look unprofessional/undone, and there was rarely anyone up front to answer questions or help if needed. I think with a few things changed or updated this local gym could be great.

I have been going to this gym for a few months now. The staff is always friendly and very helpful. The other gym goers are courteous. This is possibly the cleanest gym I have ever been too. They have a variety of ways to workout. I have never joined one of the classes but they seem very enjoyable. The best part to me is the daycare service they offer. My child always seems to enjoy his time, which allows me a guilt free workout. I love this gym and can't speak of it's praises enough.

BY FAR THE BEST GYM ! I have been a member at Crunch, O2 fitness and planet fitness but DYNAMIC IS THE GYM for me. Free weights, modern lifting machines, professional trainers, 24/7 access and a wonderful friendly staff. It’s very convenient for me as this gym is 2 miles from my house. Heather the Health &Fitness Director really helped me with setting my fitness goals shortly after becoming a member. Fellow members are kind and courteous and wipe down equipment after use. Don’t sign a contract with these people! They promote well being but do not care about you at all. My husband broke his back in a car accident and was unable to use the gym. We called the gym and they said we could put the membership on freeze and directed us to a website.. there is no place to freeze the account. So after deciding that we will just not pay for what we are not using for obvious reasons… 4 months down the road they took all 4 month payments out of our account.. when we only authorized them to take the monthly payment out in the contract. They have 24 hour access, the child care staff is great, the staff and trainers are friendly and helpful, and there is always someone on the floor cleaning bathrooms, equipment, vacuuming, dusting, etc. Love the classes, too! The closest 24 hour gym in Goose Creek costs about 3x as much with no child care or classes. The price at Dynamic is great for everything you get and it has so much more to offer than “that place” across the street. I love that I am supporting a small business, not a huge franchise. I travel often and it’s one of the best gym of this size I have been to anywhere in the country. Definitely 10/10!!

The gym itself isn't too bad, at least the last time my wife and I went. There were issues from the time we joined until the time we stopped going with one of the men's room toilets always being broken and the air conditioning not working very well. They could also have more equipment for the clients to use. Most of the stuff they only have one of each so if someone is on the equipment you're wanting to use you have to wait. Our problem is more with the management and trainer(s). My wife and I have had schedule changes, financial issues and I have medical issues. I've tried explaining and messaging the office to cancel or at least pause our accounts but they refused to pause until we caught up payments. They kept billing our bank causing it to go negative and causing more charges/fees. We were finally able to get our accounts up to date and they still refused to pause our accounts. Back when we were going we had to cancel our appointment a couple times bc of my medical issues and then our trainer was constantly cancelling or trying to get us to reschedule or see another trainer. We didn't care for the trainer she wanted us to train with. Since we stopped going to the gym my wife and myself have lost more weight than while we were going there and while we were working with a trainer. If you want to get stuck in a contract and get billed incessantly than this gym is for you. As for us we just want out.

This gym has a predatory contract. If you join this gym READ THE CANCELATION POLICY. Their cancellation policy is that you cannot cancel your membership unless one of the following three scenarios happen:
1. You have to have moved out of a 50 mile radius of the gym. (For some areas that is still more than an hour of a drive)
2. You have died. (weird how that was thrown in there. Kind of like intimidation)
3. You have become so physically disabled, you are unable to use the gym safely at all. You MUST provide a doctor's note. (COMPLETE invasion of privacy and should be illegal. It's 100% unethical)

All three of these scenarios are insane. Those are the only ways to cancel the contract??? Let's also not forget to mention that the owner is very unprofessional and instead of trying to fix problems that are addressed in negative reviews (many of which are the same complaints), they BERATE the people leaving those reviews.

If you have signed on recently, know your rights. You have three business days to submit a notice of cancelation via certified mail per STATE LAW. 'Business day' means Monday through Friday excluding state holidays and federal holidays. This notice must be sent certified mail to the following:

Within thirty days of receipt of this notice, the center shall return any payments made and any note or other evidence of indebtedness. (1) have a duration of longer than twenty-four months, nor a duration measured by the life of the customer, the life of the center, or any similar indefinite term; provided, however, if a center demonstrates financial responsibility to the administrator of the Department of Consumer Affairs and has been in operation for five or more years in this State, it may offer contracts for physical fitness services for a duration of up to thirty-six months if approved in writing by the administrator;

(2) waive the required provisions of this chapter;

(3) provide that a right of action or defense of the customer may be cut off by assignment of the contract to a third person.

Do not let this predatory gym take advantage of you, especially if you are a young adult and don't understand the importance of reading every contract you sign thoroughly. You're better off with another gym that doesn't have cancelation policies such as these. Also, per SC law in the link posted above, if you are stuck in a contract with this gym, it CANNOT exceed 36 months MAX. That is for any gym in SC that has been open for at least 5 years AND demonstrates financial responsibility to the administrator of the Department of Consumer Affairs. If a gym does not meet these guidelines, the longest contract term is 24 months.

Response to owner: Have fun trying to send a lawyer out on me when not a single law was broken. I never said you broke a law, I simply INFORMED people of the law and how they can get out of your unethical business practices in a legal way. No slander, therefore you have no legal recourse against me :) Have fun with that.

I usually don’t do reviews but this has been by far my worst gym experience. The high schooler who signed me up neglected to inform me about how far away I needed to move in order to be able to cancel my membership. I WOULD NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS GYM IF YOU HAVE ANY PLANS ON MOVING. THEY WILL NOT LET YOU CANCEL UNLESS YOU MOVE OVER 50 MILES AWAY FOR THEM TO EVEN THINK ABOUT GETTING YOU ANY ASSISTANCE, WHICH IS UNHEARD OF. I’VE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM ANYWHERE ELSE. THEY ALSO HAVE THE WORST GENERAL MANAGER. HE SPOKE TO ME WITH SUCH ARROGANCE & WAS NO HELP AT ALL!!! I would personally join the planet fitness that is opening across the street (Moncks Corner Location).

One of the stalls in the lady’s bathroom has also been broken since the first day I signed up. I will definitely NOT be recommending this gym to anyone in the future.

It’s a shame you do not take responsibility for your actions. You speak down on your clients who are trying to do what’s best for them and hopefully that will one day come to light. I know clients will begin to start dropping like bugs once planet fitness opens. They give way more benefits, have more machines and have a friendlier staff. You claim planet fitness does not care about “fitness” but some people are college athletes who already have a fitness plan and don’t need a questionable “health assessment” that your gym provides. You claim you care about “fitness” but I literally passed out at your gym before and literally got no assistance because why? Nobody was on the floor doing their job which is extremely baffling. Someone could be on the floor and be hurt and nobody would have a clue. I admit that I made a foolish mistake of joining here after graduating college. At least planet fitness has more locations to where I can navigate freely. I also have more degrees than you so don’t try to play like I can’t comprehend what I signed up for at your gym. How about you teach your employees to go more into depth about what people are signing their self up for instead of them rushing through that section to get a potential client. I have a feeling this gym isn’t going to last for long and I will be informing people to stay as far away as they possibly can from this business. Have the day you deserve!

Excellent facility with the most kind and welcoming staff. Joining a gym can be overwhelming for so many reasons but knowing that the people there, even the other gym-goers, are so warm and non-judgmental really takes a lot of the stress out of it. It’s always so clean, there are numerous group classes for all skill levels, top tier equipment, and great, knowledgeable trainers!

**Fellow moms! The absolute best part** they have daycare!! An extremely clean, safe space with wonderful teachers who genuinely care about the kids. There is absolutely nothing better than getting to go in and get a workout while knowing my kiddo is safe and so, so happy there. I still can’t believe it sometimes, it’s almost too good to be true.

Gym is well equipped, but woman’s bathroom had a broken stall since opening until Apr not sure if it is fixed now since I left the gym, also they make it hard to cancel your gym membership, either you Die, have a medical issue needing documentation which seems very invasive, or mail from your new location which has to be over 50 mile radius so if you moved and are still within that radius good luck.

This is the best health and fitness club in Moncks Corner for both young and old. It's clean and spacious with easy access parking. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The group workouts are rocking. And the personal trainers are exceptional. If you're ready to get off the couch and put some movement in your life come see the staff at Dynamic Health and Fitness.

Don’t sign any contracts here that you can’t commit to because these people won’t hesitate to keep you trapped and unable to cancel, unless you die, become disabled or move 50 miles away. The gym has decent equipment but they don’t have any duplicates so you have to wait for people to finish, which can either go by fast or take forever. For being a new gym they have no cleaning process other than a front desk employee sweeping every now and then, this seems to be an issue with most gyms I have joined. The people are friendly and are willing to help even in the situation I am in, but I’m just disappointed with management in how long of a process it has taken and how there is no way around the contracts. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING WITHOUT READING!!

To reply to the owners response since i can’t justify myself any further than their comment, I’d like to add more to my review. Thank you to the owner for responding but I didn’t just state an issue with my contract. There was more to my one star review, like how disgusting your gym is and how there is no sanitation or cleaning crew that comes in or the lack of gym equipment that the owner clearly didn’t read. You could have responded to those issues as well but no instead you belittled my review and only responded to the contract issue. I made this review so others didn’t make the same mistake I made, which was not going over the personal training contract more in depth and signing up for this gym in the first place. It could be a perfect fit to someone else but my standards were not met.

Worst experience ever. I would not sign anything with this company. The GM Blake scammed me to sign a financial agreement that was not part of our original agreement. He conveniently forgot our conversation and had me sign documents, and the money that was supposed to go toward my membership went to some financial agreement that I did not sign up for. The roof has been leaking since they first open. People at the front desk are either eating or vaping. You’re better off waiting for planet fitness to open across the street.

Just run away from this business as fast as you can.

For starters, if you are looking for a gym with child care this one isn’t safe for your kids . There was a post in a local Facebook group where SEVERAL former and current employees stated that they don’t do background checks nor drug test the child care workers . So no telling what kind of people they have watching your kids .

#2 Management doesn’t respond to emails with customer concerns and if they do reply they are rude and unprofessional. They don’t care about you once you’re locked into a contract . They have your money so why care about customer satisfaction ? Yet they send out text asking for 5 star reviews . So if you see several at one time it’s because the gym sent out a text begging for them . *eye roll*

#3 If you leave them a review on their social media page that they don’t like they block you. Great transparency right? Or they dispute your google review . Again … *eye roll *

#4 The best part of this gym is the way the owner speaks to customers . Check out their other locations to see how he responds. Multiple examples of him degrading and belittling customers . They also have BBB claims against them and have horrible customer service . They promise to provide the best customer service possible which is a total lie . I wish I would have done my research before joining and seen how they spoke to their customers at their previous location so I wouldn’t have been as shocked with the way they spoke to my fiancé in regards to our membership and concerns. Nobody should speak to someone the way they do let alone a manager handling a customer complaint/concern. They are the prime example of exactly what not to do as a business .

This a great place! All the staff have been very welcoming. Blake is very helpful. He walked me through some of the machines, as well as suggestions on how to break down my weekly visits , to get the most from my efforts. Owner is very rude to customers when they bring an issue to their attention not only in private but also on social media platforms. Check out their other locations google reviews for proof (Lexington, and West Columbia). All of these are owned by the same person. Owner will go as far as blocking people that leave negative reviews about their interaction with the owner on social media platforms.

Also, if you’re in the market for a new boat stay away from this boat business that is owned by the same person. Dynamic Marine and Motorsports .
