Sadly I think i have to leave this gym, been a member for years on and off and recently I rejoined in February 2025, and been going regularly, severel things I’ve overlooked since I started back, when it rains the ceilings leaks badly, wouldn’t be surprised mold isn’t becoming a issue, they have trash cans laying around to catch the water, but this can be fixed, other issue is when I started back I was told the cheapest plan was $60 a month and not the $45 a month I used to pay, I also was charged over $200 back pay for a membership I wasn’t even using but I paid it anyway, so fast forward about 5 months in I’m made aware they have a $20 a month plan anytime after 3pm, I was annoyed because I wasnt made aware of this when I asked back in February, ok I just ignored it and switched my plan to the $20 a month, the following month we are told new owners are taking over so when my bill came due they said the $20 month isn’t offered anymore so I have to do a $45 a month plan. O well I just figured new owners it’s new policy fine. Over the past month or so they have been taking all the equipment out to replace with new equipment, this takes time so not really a big deal I can work out different ways, but today I go in and unfortunately I think I have to change gyms, years ago the gym hours was like Monday-Friday 5am-11pm or 10pm can’t remember , and Saturdays was 12am-9pm I belive and Sunday 12am-5
Now they inform us the new hours Monday-Saturday is 5am to 6pm and 5pm in sundays. How do they expect to keep people in the gym when they close so early, the biggest reason I loved this gym and overlooked everything is because it has that old school free weight gym setups and modern set up’s and I could come in after I get off around 6pm and put in a couple hours, the new hour set up is basically forcing 9-5 people to find another gym, makes no sense to me, the rumor I heard before the new owners took over is that it was going to be 24 hour set up with key card, I guess they scratched that idea, giving 3 stars because I love the gym but hate the new hours, pretty much pushes me out, there target customer must be the elderly and retired , this will push most of the younger gym goers somewhere else, hopefully the reevaluate this and keep the gym open later hours, if so it would be a 5 star for me

Old, decriped ,water damaged, and wore out. No trainers, classes are yoga and pilates centric. The ceiling and AC in the group fitness room needs some serious work. Mold?? obviously no investments in the facility other than keeping the doors open.

I have never been so disgusted by a gym in my life. From the moment I stepped in, the place was an absolute nightmare. The floors were sticky, and there was a musty smell that hit you as soon as you entered – it felt like the gym hadn’t been cleaned in ages. The equipment is filthy, covered in grime, and looks like it hasn’t been maintained for years. The bathrooms? Don’t even get me started. They’re disgusting and downright unsanitary.

But what made it even worse was the weight staff. The sheer incompetence and rudeness of the people working there was unbearable. They’re completely unhelpful and seem to have no knowledge of how to properly assist gym-goers. It felt like they couldn’t care less about ensuring a safe, clean, or welcoming environment. Not only did they ignore requests for help, but they were also condescending when I did manage to get their attention.

Overall, this gym is a nightmare. The lack of cleanliness, the terrible equipment, and the awful staff make it a place I will never return to. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to work out – this gym is nothing but a health hazard.

I see a lot of negative reviews on here, but my experience has been quite the opposite. It’s an older building with older equipment, but I’m basically just there for the free weights, which they have plenty of! They also have a lot of machines (while looking outdated) that seem to work just as well as shiny new equipment.
My favorite thing about this gym, compared to other gyms, is that it’s nearly empty for after work hours (most of their clientele seem to be retired folk that workout in the mornings and mid-day). Locker room is big enough, although I wish the bathroom floors weren’t always wet. I have never used the pools. Also, a nice little plus is that they have a boxing room with 3 bags, which I enjoy to mix up my workout.
Overall, I like the older nostalgic feel to the gym and would recommend it to anyone as it’s suitable to any age or fitness level. In fact, I often recommend it to my patients in the area.

Terrible staff! I left an envelope on the counter by accident when I paid for my daughter's membership. Went back to ask them to review the cameras and the man at the desk wasn't helpful at all. Said it would be a couple days. Pretty sad he couldn't help his new members. Anytime someone comes into my work missing or leaving something behind, i review cameras immediately to help the person out. Instead I had to go to the police station and file a report so the officers could handle viewing the video footage from there. My mistake for setting the envelope down. Pretty sketchy but sad that either another member or an employee would take something that didn't belong to them.

Rude owners, only care about $$$$$. Don’t know how you can make money when half the equipment is broken/hardly working properly. A machine can be broken for weeks, sometimes months, before it’s finally fixed. I have also heard the owners treat the staff pretty poorly.

I expected more from the reviews I read. It was disappointing to find the parking lot and exterior of building in need of repairs I guess they are trying to blend with the north Myrtle Beach flea's market! I went in anyhow and found it to be in kind of the exterior. It has an aire of being old and unkeep. I tried 11 old machines of witch 8 we're broken or poorly repaired, the free weight! Most of the other people there did not clean the equipment after using! I was drawn to visit them because of the impressive choice of facilities and class ooptions.
I would never use the pool, sauna, steam room or hot tub for the fear of being a bacteria breeding ground!
In addition the weight and cardio rooms are enclosed with 3 walls of windows which left me confused as to whether they were really dirty or just defective, conclusion, BOTH !!!
MY HOST IN KEEPING WITH THE THEME DID NOT DISAPPOINT! PEG never introduced or identified herself and was so disheveled and unorganized I had a had time trying to figure out what she was talking about.
Stay away far away!

I'd give this gym 3.5 stars but google doesn't allow for half-star reviews. I was a member of this gym for about a month earlier this year.

The gym has the feel (or nostalgia) of working out in your basement or a high school locker room. With that being said, some of the equipment looks like it needs to be updated, and a couple of the exercise bikes no longer properly work. There is also an outdoor pool along with an indoor (heated) pool, sauna, and whirlpool. However, the locker room has a slightly moldy smell. Most of the clientele are older.

Overall, the gym needs a face-lift. The normal price is $68 per month for a non-senior citizens. Sometimes they have flash sales or special promotions, so I would recommend looking out for those, but otherwise IMO the standard price is too much for a gym that needs to be updated.

With one of their special promotions, I would rate the gym 4 stars, as it can be a good value. But at full price, Lifequest is only 3 stars, as there are better options in the area if you want to spend that kind of money for a fitness center.

Haven't been to this gym since September 2020 because the last I was there half the equipment was not able to be used. In December 2020 I attempted to cancel my membership and did so every month until February 2021 when someone finally told me there is a $50 cancelation fee. The very next payment automatically taken out of my account was a double charge. I asked the rude old man at the front desk, he wrote down my name and I haven't heard anything since. It's worth the drive to Planet Fitness and spend $23/month to have access to everything.

Nice gym! Excellent equipment and great service! Wish the pool was a bit bigger considering the price. I paid $104 for 4 weeks for a few too the gym & pool. You also have to pay for towels. Not much privacy in the shower rooms either. Also, an extra $10 for a locker. And an extra $2 for a pass to get in.

I went to this gym for a few months as there really isn't another gym conveniently located. The people are not that kind as the equipment is falling apart. I have no clue how they even passed inspection. They charge just as much as a golds gym or powerhouse. The lady that does the sales is beyond rude and full of herself! Waste of money. You're better off working out at home. Its def safer that is for sure!

I visited Lifequest for a massage from an independent contractor who works from their space, which was nice. I am not a member of Lifequest myself as their membership fees are a bit high for me and the location is inconvenient for me to go regularly. When I did consider a membership there, I was given a nice tour of the facility. The indoor pool is small and quite busy with classes and lessons, not set up for serious lap swimming. They do offer spinning classes and Zumba I believe, as well as yoga. I liked the cardio and weights area. It seemed well maintained. Personal training sessions were $35-45 per session with the expectation of having two to three sessions a week, bought in packages of months. If you have trouble with stairs as I do, this is not the best facility as there is no elevator to the upper floor classrooms, and there are a few stairs to the main work out area. There aren't many gyms in the Little River/North Myrtle Beach area at this point so Lifequest may be your best option.

While Margie Pettersen had a point 9 months ago about the facility, in the last 4 months there have been some changes and put into the right hands and are taking actions. The facility is considerably cleaner than it was and machines have been fixed and rearranged to where the facility is more user friendly. Great work by the staff! Where it was "going down the tubes", it's crawling back up the tubes. If you want to go swimming then go to the aquatics center, I can't argue with their pool, but they CANNOT compete with the gym LifeQuest has. I have been working out for 30 years and I can say LifeQuest IS the most complete facility there is and I've been in gyms all over North America.
They have 2 lines of selectorized equipment. 2 sets of dumbbells that go to 120lbs. 2 smith machines. 2 multi-purpose stations. Hammer Strength equipment, and the most complete line of leg equipment I've ever seen.
Come in and look at it. You WILL be impressed!
